Trouble deleting device from DCR using dcrcli in CiscoWorks

I am trying to delete a device from the DCR in LMS 3.2 using the dcrcli command below:
dcrcli -u dnescripting cmd=del id=5052
I am getting to following error after running that command:
<dcrcli> * Password file found using DCRCLIFILE environment variable.
Error in Delete Device:  Device is still managed by application(s).
Does anyone know how I can get around this and make the device not "management by  applications" through an option added to the dcrcli command?
Thanks Ryan.

Use del -f to force deletion:
dcrcli -u dnescripting cmd=del -f id=5052

  • Deleting devices from DCR

    Hello
I was wondering whether this would cause any issues.
We have alot of devices within the DCR which are no longer on the network (Causing issues with our inventory).  The plan I was considering was deleting all devices from the DCR and carrying out a re-import from ACS.  I would keep all the standard credentials in place.
Would this have any impact i.e with synch archives (Conflicting devices), Config repository's etc
    Many Thanks

The shadow directory configs are only updated when LMS detects a real change in the config. It wont change the config file date every time it downloads the config from the device.
Best check with on device where you change an interface description. Then later see if the file in the shadow dir has changed.
There are 3 mechanisms to detect config changes. First is SYSLOG where LMS reacts on a messages from the device.
Then there is a poling schedule that looks for config changes via SNMP and there is schedule to download and compare.
Depending on what is configured it can take longer before the change is detected.
    Cheers,
    Michel

  • Automatic delete devices in DCR

    Hello,
we use LMS3.2 in a large campus network.
We don't use the network discovery via seed devices. instead of that we import devices into lms/DCR via automatic bulk import from another database. Is it possbile to delete devices in DCR in a similar, automatic way?
    Regards
    Hendrik

Go to Common Services > Device and Credentials > Admin > Device Polling to configure the DCR device poller.  This poller will detect unreachable devices that have been added to DCR.  It will periodically create a report that will allow you to delete the unreachable devices.
Thx for you answer. I know  this function but I mean something different.
We manage ~5000 devices from many customers in one network infrastructure. Rechability is not our only criterium to manage devices and have them in LMS or not.
We have another database from where we import devices into LMS. For this we use the scheduled bulk import that is scheduled for every day.
This database controls generaly if we want to manage devices or not. Devices that we don't want to manage must be deleted in LMS and it's possible that a device is still reachable when we want to remove it from LMS.
    So my questions:
Is there a possiblity to delete devices in a similar way as the automatic bulk import works? Maybe via CLI ?
    Best Regards
    Hendrik

  • I am having trouble deleting photos from iPad that we're imported from PC  how do I do this to free space on ipad

I am having trouble deleting photos from iPad that we're ported from PC. Already deleted from PC but still showing up on iPad following sync

Tap and hold your finger on the X
You should get a message in some cases that it will delete your stored app data - say OK if you want to proceed
The wiggle mode should stop with a press of the home button - not a hard reset
Reset your phone and see if the behavior changes - there is no data loss - Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

  • Flushing / Deleting Devices from Cisco Prime LMS4.1 - How ?

    Hello,
Discovery got a little messed up when importing from LMS 3.1
Basically I want to flush all devices from all the different LMS modules.
If I delete all devices from Device Management they seem to stay in Topology Services / Device Discovery / Data Collection etc.. They keeps the old device in their own database.
Is there a way of flushing all devices from all these different modules. I'm going to re-import them with a clean CSV import file.
    Cheers
    Barry

It is confusing to everybody I think (except perhaps Joe Clarke). Perhaps Joe will jump in with a solution to this last bit.
Starting back when CiscoWorks instituted a DCR (ca. CiscoWorks 2000?) things began to integrate across the components but under the covers there are still separate bits. Alerts (e.g., those from Fault functions or the old DFM, based on the EMC SMARTS product) are notorious for using settings and a repository different from the rest of the suite. I've had good luck using a local hosts file for that component to work properly (i.e., generate fault records with the proper host name vs. the device IP).

  • HT204053 my icloud id is not registered and having trouble deleting it from my ipad to replace with my original id. how can i delete my icloud if the system doesnt reconize it.

trouble deleting icloud account from IPad. The ID is not reconized and trouble resetting it.

Try going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iDevice, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • MI424WR Delete Device From "My Network"

    Hello all,
I use to have the old router verizon set me up when i first got FIOS. It was easy to setup and love it how you could rename the devices that had static ip address. You could even delete old device from the list that you didn't have anymore.
Now that I have MI424WR I can't delete the device from the list or rename device that have static ip address. All I see if there ip address. I really don't like that because I like to keep track what's on my network.
If anyone know's how to make these changes to my 2 issue please let me know. I been trying to figure this out the last 3 days... Driving me up the wall right now!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
    Thanks.

If you're asking about devices that have a static DHCP lease setup in the router, those can be easily deleted from the "Connection List" sub-page of the "IP Address Distribution" page.  Just click the box with the red X.
Note that a static IP address lease is not a static IP assignment.  A static lease ensures that an end device always gets the same IP address when it requests one using DHCP.  A static assignment means the device is configured to use a specific IP address.  A statically configured device will not request an IP address using DHCP.
If you are asking about a static IP assignment, make sure that you are assigning addresses outside the range of the DHCP server in the router.  By default, the router is setup to serve addresses across the entire subnet (192.1.1.2 to 192.1.1.254).  You should change to range to something smaller place the static assignments outside of the DHCP range.  Use the "DHCP Settings" for the "home/office network" to adjust this.
If you're asking about the router's home page, some static devices won't disappear until the router is reboot.
    Good Luck.

  • Deleting Messages from Server Using Different Computers

I access my mail from a number of different computers and devices and I would like to be able to delete a message from the server when I delete it from any of the computers/devices so that when I check my mail from a different computer/device, the previously deleted message is no longer there.
As it is now, the only option I seem to have is to remove the message from the server after I have retrieved my mail. As a result, I have to maintain one master computer for my mail and only when I delete messages from that computer are they deleted from the server.
So, is there a way to delete a message from the server after I have deleted it from any of my computers or devices?
BTW, I am using a POP account.

I'm using Imap (1and1.com) I have noticed that when email gets automatically deleted off my sever it's later missing from Mail. I cannot find any setting in Mail to keep all my email or a setting on my server to keep my mail. I often have to refernce back to business emails.

  • Deleting device from itunes account

I have an ipod touch linked to my itunes account but I need to remove it.  The help pages say I should go to my account and click manage devices but that option isn't there. Help please.

What do you mean by "I don't want to loose anything on it"
What iOS is on the iPod?
What do you mean by "like him to be sresponsible for it"?
I used to use the ipod but have given it to my son so I want to set him up with his own itunes account, hence the reason for deleting it from mine. It is currently linked to my itunes account and I don't want to loose anything on it but would like him to be sresponsible for it.  Hope that makes sense.

  • Homehub 5 deleted device from Home Network - Devic...

Hi guys.  I'm setting up a Homehub 5 for the first time.  I have previously had a Homehub 3 and could do anything I wanted with it but I've come across an oddity.
It's a simple query, in the Home Networks - Device section, I have deleted a device from the Wired Connections.  I now want it back!  How do I get it recognised and added again?  I have tried disabling the network (wired) and enabling, restarting the device, restarting the Homehub, nothing seems to work.  Can someone please tell me what I am missing?

Ok.  Most of this issue seems to be solved by my fiddling.
A bit more playing around has given me a new view of the problem.  The device I removed was set up in it's own TCP/IP settings to request a static IP address of its own choosing.  I did this because I could not find a way to allocate a static IP address for a wired device in the Homehub.  For some reason, when I first tried it, it would not allow me to edit the IP address for the chosen device.  I think this may be because the address had been set locally on the PC.  When I returned the PC to DHCP allocation it reappears in the Devices display and I am setting a static address from there.  I also have a NAS drive which is set to request its own static IP address and this also does not show up in the display.  I have changed the NAS drive in its own local settings to allow DHCP and it now also shows up in the router's Device plan.  So...
Am I right in assuming that the BT Home Hub 5 only displays those devices it controls under DHCP and will not display others which have requested their own fixed address?
If so, is there anywhere that devices which request their own static addresses can be viewed in the Home Hub settings or are they simply non-existent as far as administration is concerned?
I would find this last point strange as they are still connected to the network and as such need to be managable.  It would almost seem that you are forced to use DHCP via the Home Hub if you want to set up anything to do with any device.

  • Delete mail from server using ipad not computer

How do I delete mail from the server using my Ipad

That completely depends on your email service provider.
For gmail, for example, you would do this as follows:

  • Unable to delete emails from care4free using thunderbird

I have just bought an imac and have transfered my thunderbird account from my old pc. I am unable to delete messages from my care4free POP account. Anyone help with this please?

Problems associated with deleting or moving email usually stem from failure to compact mail
folders, especially inboxes. This is because deleted email is not removed from the
application until you compact (expunge is the technical term). This can be done
automatically by a setting in your email account. Manually is simple enough. On any mail
folder do this: right click/compact (or File/Compact Folders). This is especially important
on inboxes but also, any folder from which you regularly delete/move email.
If you are experiencing problems you probably have a lot of uncompacted mail so be patient
the first time and watch the activity bar for its status (at the bottom of the application).

  • How do I delete devices from my apple id?

I want to manage my devices in my apple id.
Tried to follow this guide but I cant find the Manage devices to click on.
    I use itunes 11.1.3
Removing an associated device or computer from an Apple ID
To remove a device or computer from your Apple ID:
    Open iTunes.
Sign in to your Apple ID by choosing Store > Sign In from the iTunes menu.
Choose Store > View My Account from the iTunes menu.
From the Account Information screen, click Manage Devices.
Click the Remove button next to the device name you would like to unassociate.
Note: Removing a device from your Apple ID does not override the 90 day timer. The timer must complete 90 days from the day the device was associated before it can be associated to another Apple ID.
Where is the Manage Devices to click???

How/why do you want to remove them from your account ? e.g. if you are selling or giving a device away and want to unlink it from your account so that the new owner can register it to their's then you can do so via your support profile : https://supportprofile.apple.com/
A device or computer will only become associated to an account, and appear in the 'manage devices' section, if you use iTunes Match or automatic downloads on it, of if you redownload the account's past purchases on it (if you don't have any associated devices/computers then the section won't show). Have you done any of those ? You could try redownloading a past purchase on a device or computer and see if that section then shows with that computer/device listed (but if you do then it will become associated for a minimum of 90 days).
And for the hidden purchases, have you ever hidden any ? You could try hiding something and see if that section then shows : hiding and unhiding.
