Trouble starting Gpib interface(code 10)
I am getting touble with the interface, in the measurment and automation tool, when i tried to scan for the instrument then it checks for the software and says ok and for the hardware it says ok but it says it failed because of the interface hadnt started (code10).. I really dont know how to solve the problem, i appriciate your help, and my phone number is 301 975 3789.

Microsoft describes the error as: "This code means that the device failed to start (for example, it is missing or is not working properly). To resolve this error code, make sure the device is attached to the computer correctly. For example, make sure all cables are plugged in fully and that all adapter cards are plugged into their slots fully."
What GPIB hardware are you using?. What OS? Make sure you are using the lastest driver for your Hardware/OS combination. Check the drivers at Gpib Driver updates.
Try installing the interface in another PC to determine if there is a hardware problem with the GPIB interface.

You have a number of cases of a string of spaces in titles: you also have one in a URL which will render that link invalid.
But what is rendering the whole feed unreadable is your category link:

I have an Agilent 82357B USB/GPIB Interface connected to my computer.
Attached to that, I have two lock-in amplifiers (an SR830, and an SR
850). I would like to be able to communicate with them through GPIB.
I have downloaded and installed the software for the Agilent device
(Agilent IO Control), and I can see the interface and the two devices
in that software. Here's what is configured in this software, that I
can see:
The VISA interface ID is GPIB0, and its address is 0
The VISA addresses of the devices are GPIB0::4::INSTR and GPIB::12::INSTR, and the GPIB addresses are 4 and 12
In Measerment and Automation Explorer (MAX), I made sure that the
Passport for Tulip box was checked. Once it was, I could see the
devices in the Configuration window under Devices and Interfaces ->
Miscellaneous VISA Resources. There, I see GPIB0::INTFC, GPIB0::4::INSTR and GPIB::12::INSTR.
I can right click on either of the instruments, and "Open VISA Test
Panel" where I am successfully able to send commands and read from both
devices.
HOWEVER, when I am running an actual LabView program, I am unable to communicate with the devices.
For example, when I try to communicate to the devices through VISA,
using the 'Basic Serial Write and Read.vi' (while VISA Resource Name is
GPIB0::12::INSTR), I get an error:
Error -1073807331 occurred at Property Node (arg 2) in VISA Configure Serial Port (Instr).vi->Basic Serial Write and Read.vi
Possible reason(s):
VISA: (Hex 0xBFFF001D) The specified attribute is not defined or supported by the referenced resource.
When trying to communicate with them through GPIB (which is what I want
to do in the end), using 'GPIB.vi' I also get an error. Here, GPIB
address is 12, and I am just trying to give it the command *IDN?
GPIB Write returned error code:
EDVR: Error connecting to driver or device
What's going on?You can use VISA Write and VISA Read. You just can't use the example called Basic Serial Write and Read because that is specifically for the RS-232 port. The GPIB-VISA is one of the shipping examples. Start the example finder and go to the search tab. Search for VISA.
Again, no you cannot use the GPIB functions with a non-NI controller. The low level functions for an NI board and an Agilent one are completely different. You can rewrite the driver to use VISA or you can rewrite it to use the low level functions that Agilent provides. You use the Call Library Function Node, I believe to access their GPIB driver.
I hate to say it but the $20 difference between the Agilent and the NI controller does not seem like much of a saving. -
How can I test the log in state from in side the Operator Interface code.
From inside LabVIEW Full OI, I want to test if the operator logged in after the IApplicationMgr Start.
Right after the IApplicationMgr ‘Start’ I have a loop that tests the IApplicationMgr ‘LoginLogoutRunning’ state and waits until the LoginLogout call back is done.
I want to exit if the program if operator canceled the login and did not log in.
I have tried “GetEngine” ref. From there get the “CurrentUser” ref but seems not to contain any information about the Current User.
How can I test from my Operator Interface code logged in state of the application?

For the string parameter 'privilegeName' enter Priv_UserLoggedIn or the string value "*".
"Priv_UserLoggedIn–(Value: "*") Use this value with the Engine.CurrentUserHasPrivilege method to determine whether a user is logged in."
Option 2: You could also setup a callback on application manager for UserChanged Event. If the User is null then the login was canceled. (see a copy of the help further down)

Populating list with connected GPIB interfaces
I'm working on the setup section of an APP in Delphi5.0 using the GPIB-32.DLL and am a little baffled. Ni supplied this little gizmo that searches for GPIB interfaces (not devices). I would like to emulate this functionality for my application in a setup wizard sort of way so the end user can simply select from a list of 'detected' interfaces. In looking at the DLL calls they all seem to require previous knowledge of the device location. So I'm wondering if there is a set range of possible Primary and Secondary addresses I can use to just loop through searching for an interface. I'm assuming here that anything that wouldn't toss a failure when sent a Pri/Sec Address would be a set of valid device ports. On that note...
are there some specific commands to issue that will return a string telling me exactly what it found on that Pri/Sec address?

CTOk.. I made some progress. Using SendIFC and ibfind, etc, watching NiSpy I have determined this is coming back as an Integer and other Ni applications use the Init_DA_Brds to obtain a translation of the integer to descriptive title. However I don't have access to that and the only reference I found of the device list codes is from 1999 which does not include some of the newest hardware including the USB based devices.
Is there a newer list of product codes available? -
I'm having trouble writing a polynomial code.
I'm having trouble with a polynomial code I'm supposed to conjour it. It's simply a code that adds, subtracts, and multiplies polynomials. However, there are a few methods I do not know how to come up with (I left them blank), and when I test the code write now, it doesn't work. Here's the code -- can anyone help?

}We've been working with arrays, and we have to write a code that adds, subtracts, and multiplies polynomials. I'm having trouble with a few of the methods. I've assigned m_degree and m_coefficient as the fields I need to use.
Right now, as my code stands, when I test it with a polynomial in main, it doesn't work. So right now, there's a mistake preventing what I have so far from properly functioning.
I am also having trouble writing the following methods:
reserve: We have to allocate memory to the polynomial every time it changes so we make sure we always have enough space to work with it.
nextTerm: We need this to jump to the next term in the polynomial, but I'm not quite sure how to do it. I didn't even realize it was possible.
I'm horrible at commenting and explaining my code, but if you read over it just a little bit, you may be able to get the gist of what I'm trying to do. Thanks for any help, and sorry if I can't explain well.

Will data transfer in parallel in GPIB interface?
Hi all,
I have two devices (supporting GPIB) connected in serial and connect to the GPIB interface card. Those two devices have two different addresses and I use VISA module to send data in parallel. But the GPIB cables are connected in serial, so does it mean it will be locked when transferring data to one device? I think GPIB transfer rate is not that low (about 1Mbyte/sec) but it takes so long to transfer 500kB to the device (about 45sec).

You have not provided the instrument or your code so it.is impossible to say anything about your transfer rate but the 1MB is a theoretical maximum that you seldom achieve in the real world.

You will see that there is only one GPIB interface (0), both device 1 and device 2 are connecting to the same card. The data sending to device 1 and device 2 is about 400kB (shown as xxxx.xxxxx. and yyyy.yyyyy). -

I am starting this discussion to get details about Code transport. We have built our Interfaces Codes (SLD, ESR, ID, etc) in a temporary Environment and we would like know to transport this code to the DEV server of the customer. Can you please suggest which best way facilitates this

I would suggest to transport only ESR object and create SLD, configuration object again in Development system. As you can avoid the configuration of transport path etc.

Error 7 occurred at Open File+.vi:Open File,NI-488: Nonexistent GPIB interface
I did some clean-up of my computer and have been having issues ever since.
I'm not the one that did the programming; the person who did is long gone.
The VI loads fine but when I hit run I get:
Error 7 occurred at Open File+.vipen File
LabVIEW: File not found. The file might have been moved or deleted, or the file path might be incorrectly formatted for the operating system. For example, use \ as path separators on Windows, : on Mac OS, and / on Linux. Verify that the path is correct using the command prompt or file explorer.

NI-488: Nonexistent GPIB interface.
All the necessary VIs are available and I've tried changing all the file calls in the VIs to the new locations but the error is the same.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.Error 7 is a generic file not found. If it is happening after cleaning up files, more than likely you moved some subVIs called in a main VI to a new location on your computer. If all the VIs are in a project, a possible solution would be to remove the vis in the project directory and add them back to the project as they may be pointing to a previous location where the files were once stored. Perhaps this is what Anon123123123 meant by "linking". Hope this helps.

Having trouble with my PHP code. Appers to get stuck on a white page.
HI all,
I have just began having trouble with my PHP code. Was working before and haven't made any changes to the code since last time it worked.
What happens is after the form is submitted it goes to a white page (no text just all white page) and in the address bar it has the path for my php page. what supposed to happen is either it goes to a success page or a error page.
I've had a problem where the info entered is correct but was directed to the error page. i managed to fix that issue but i am puzzled what is happening to my php page now.
Mind you that i didn't write this code i just took over the responsiblities of this website and i am hopping that its a quick fix.

?>Insert the install disk and boot from it. Use disk utitlity to repair your drive and check for errors (report any errors back here) then reinstall the os. This should not erase your data.

Have Logitech solar blue tooth keyboard and Logitech bluetooth trackball.
POST code is short, short, long ... if anyone remembers what that means.
Have been randomly successful at continuing boot after connecting USB keyboard and disconnecting all other USB devices and then holding ESC while turning on. Not 100%, but works mostly.
I have no idea if anything USB is actually causing.
After boot starts and WIN is loaded, everything else seems normal.
Any suggestions?

What hardware changes have you made to the PC?
Unplug your PC and open it up. Remove the video card and use a can of compressed to clean out teh dust from inside the card. Now put everything back together and give it a go.
Remove as many USB devices as possible and then monitor the situation.
It's possible that you have a flaky video card or power supply.

I bought my power mac about 5 years ago. Last year I started having trouble starting up when the machine was cold. I put a heater on the unit for about 30 minutes in the morning and then it would start up ok. Through the summer and once the weather got warmer there was no problem.
Now with the start of fall and cold nights, I seem to be having the same problem.
I am concerned that the system drive has five years of usage and am thinking of swapping it out. Any other thoughts???Clone it weekly or twice a month.

In 5 yrs drives have more than doubled in performance, and other than in last month the price per GB (and MB/sec) has dropped.
SSDs are now pppular system boot drives, 10K drives have improved, 2TB $150-200 for media data and backup
Clone your system twice and if it has trouble swap it out and test/zero the drive.
Last year? you don't run on a bad tire or a system having trouble except to pull the drive/tire and put on spare.
There are procedures for repairing a sytem and drives, and then you get into "Why" and troubleshooting causes if necessary. -

Trouble starting Managed Server
I'm having trouble starting a managed server.
I have 'myomain' running on 7001, and attempt to start 'examples' on 7006
as a managed server pointing to 7001 as the admin server.
I've modified a copy of startWebLogic.sh to include the following -D parameters:
weblogic.management.server=127.0.0.1:7001
weblogic.management.password = <password for mydomain>
weblogic.management.username=system
When run, the 7001 access.log contains the following entry, so I know the reqest
is getting to the mydomain server:
127.0.0.1 - - [13/Nov/2000:14:06:13 -0700] "GET /Bootstrap HTTP/1.1" 200 125docs60/notes/issues.html
The terminal session that is attempting to start 'examples' barfs with the following:
