Trouble with Import Wizard - Date format

I am trying to import data from an excel file to a table using the Import Wizard. The verification of the import fails on the verification of the date column only, with the message that "Dater columns HOLIDAY_DATE, have invalid or null date formats"
There are no null / blanks in my xls file, and the date format in the xls file is dd/mm/yyyy. When this is imported through the import wizard, the date column shows the data, but the format shows the data in mm/dd/yyyy ??
Is there anything obvious I am doing wrong here?
Thx

Well, not really a solution, but a work-around.
I created an extra field in the table, and loaded the date into that string field.
Then just updated the table using the follwoing code...simple, but much faster than trying to work out what the roblem was with the upload.
UPDATE EU_HOLIDAYS
SET HOLIDAY_DATE = TO_DATE(HOLIDAY,'DD/MM/YYYY');

You can't do it in one step. Add to iTunes first, Once the tracks are in iTunes you may convert to a different format.

  • Having trouble with imports never finishing

I am having trouble with imports that never finished. It is almost like the pictures are stuck on one image. the only way to get out of Iphoto is to force quit. The next time I open, there are a number of images that still need to be imported, but the import never finishes and seems to stop at the same image. When I go to close down I get the message that Photos are being imported to the library.
    Anyone have any suggestions.
    Thanks

    Photo:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Check out your iPhoto library and make sure all photos are viewable and there. Force quitting when iPhoto is working can corrupt the database file, Library6.iPhoto. Make a backup copy of it and save in another folder.
First make a backup copy of your iPhoto Library folder. Now download and run BatChmod on the iPhoto Library folder with the settings shown here, substituting your account name for mine. You can either type in the path to the folder or just drag the folder into that field. Open iPhoto and see if it will work OK.
If not, launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys depressed and follow the instructions to rebuild the library. Select all options.
Lastly use iPhoto Library Manager to rebuild the library. Here's how:
Using iPhoto Library Manager to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
Download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
Click on the Add Library button, navigate to your User/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File->Rebuild Library menu option
In the next window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
    Click on the Create button.
Note: It can take some time to create the new library if you have a lot of photos. One user reported that with a library of about 5,000 images it took about 12 hours so plan ahead.

You didn't mention what DBMS or scripting language you are using.
The best way to get dates from a user is to supply 3 fields for input; day, month, year - then assemble them into the string format that the DBMS is expecting.

  • SSIS 2012 is intermittently failing with below "Invalid date format" while importing data from a source table into a Destination table with same exact schema.

We migrated Packages from SSIS 2008 to 2012. The Package is working fine in all the environments except in one of our environment.

But when we reorder the column in "Updated" in Destination table, the package is importing data successfully.
This looks like bug to me, Any suggestion?

    Hi Mohideen,
Based on my research, the issue might be related to one of the following factors:
Memory pressure. Check there is a memory challenge when the issue occurs. In addition, if the package runs in 32-bit runtime on the specific server, use the 64-bit runtime instead.
A known issue with SQL Native Client. As a workaround, use .NET data provider instead of SNAC.
    Hope this helps.

  • Help with Importing Excel Data into Formatted Tables

This is my first post, here, so please be gentle!
I am a relatively new user of InDesign CS4, and I am creating a 70-pg manufacturer's price book.  A very large portion of each page is going to be size and price information imported from a large Excel spreadsheet.
I have created the table format that I'd like to use for each page, but the trouble comes when I import the Excel data into that table.  For some reason, when I import, it all dumps into one cell.  Would it be best to import as an unformatted table, and then format the table each time, or is there a way to simply import the data into my pre-formatted table?  I've seen how the former is done, but the latter seems much easier (...although that could be my inexperience talking).
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks so much,
    Laura (V1500)

Thank you both so much for your time!  This is exactly what I needed.

  • Import Excel with Import Wizard / Problem during the import of "Actual Work" column

    Hello,
I am trying to import an Excel File (*.xlsx) to Project Server 2013 through Project Professional 2013 and Import Wizard.
I am having trouble when I try to include the column "Actual Work". After selecting the columnsmapping I am getting a strange error message saying that "The File cannot be oppened","Make sure, that the Filename and Path is right"
and some other strange messages concerning compatibility, although I am using the same File, which works perfectly without the "Actual Work" column.
I have tried as well with csv and the outcome was the same.
    Any help is welcome!
    Thank you in advance,

    Hi All,
In Data Modeler, Data Dictionary Import Wizard, I'm able to connect to database. But while going to the second stage (Select Schema/Database), I'm getting an error "ORA-00942: table or view does not exist".

  • Trouble with imported sound also going to IDVD

I imported some video and it was fine...then I imported another clip and placed it in front of the first clip. Suddenly that first clip has no sound. It is on the same audio track and the volume is clicked. i can hear the second clip fine.
Also...I have a great deal of trouble with the digital tape looking fine on the camera, but then all jumpy and the picture is all digital screwy when its imported to imovie.
When createing a new IDVD project, is there anyway to create a new on rather than just opening up the last one I was working one? That feature is all annoying and cause me to create duplicates of the work, eating up my precious space!

I would honestly like to know why it would not work to just use the exported video from FCE into iDvD, there should be no aspect change in my case. The source in in 720x480. I also would have thought that FCE would be set up to transfer to dvd since much of what is done will need to be shown on that format?
Anamorphicizer did not work for me!!
myDvdedit I have not tried yet as looks to be too many steps to be practical.
I suppose I will try QTpro.
    Any thoughts?

  • Inbox and Personal docs not listed/imported with Import Wizard (XI R2 SP3)

CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
When using the Import Wizard to import personal and inbox documents from BO 6.5.3, the documents are not listed in the Import summary and are not found.  I've read various posts on BOBJ, etc and have attempted the suggestiopns with both an account that exists and one that doesn't exist in XI.  I've also attempted with selecting a corporate document in the mix, but no deal.  It's like the wizard cannot see the files, even though I navigate directly to the folder they're in.  Anyone have any suggestions????
    Thanks!!

CA Forum: Migration to XI R2
I love it when the solution is this simple   According to BO tech support, the Inbox and Personal documents WILL NOT be listed in the Summary page, but they WILL be imported. After clicking the Finish button (even though the reports aren't listed), you'll then see the documents listed when the Import Wizard fires up. It worked for me and Inbox and Personal documents came across fine.

  • Possible Defect with Crystal and date formating

    Crystal 2008 Oracle 11.1
I am building functionality to override dates within my Crystal/SP by passing a String as a IN/OUT Parameter from Crystal.
I have 2 Functions in use that have been tested. The first parses the string and returns a number of database parameters with any overrides passed in the string. The second is a date function that will return a Start date and calculate the End date based on a Frequency Parameter value passed from the first function. (Daily, Monthly,Quarterly) or pass the END date from the string back.
We are using the Default Oracle Date format of dd-MON-yy (22-SEP-10)
I am casting my string using the ORACLE To_Date(parsed String value) function and loading it into the array of DATE types that I am passing to the driver SP. In here I am moving the occurane of my array to a LV_Sdate and LV_Edate fields that are defined as DATE.
    Data
Oracle Dates  copied from the Oracle Table -
    CURR_DT - 23-SEP-10    PREV_DT- 21-SEP-10     OLD_DT - 20-SEP-10
Using Table Date - PREV_DT Calculating END by Moving Date to Second Array Position returns:
      PRFL_NB_TX       CO_NM               CNTC_NM                        Start Date                 End Date
      xxxxxxxx        XXXX-ACADEMY           ROB TESTNAME       9/21/2010  12:00:0  9/21/2010  12:00:0
Using Passed Dates Both Start and End  --- OVERRIDE String: 1@1$620360008@BEGDATE$25-SEP-10@ENDDATE$25-SEP-10@
      PRFL_NB_TX       CO_NM                  CNTC_NM                          Start Date                 End Date
      xxxxxxxx        XXXX-ACADEMY           ROB TESTNAME        9/10/25  12:00:00A  9/10/25  12:00:00A
Using Table and Passed Dates Start - Table, End - Passed  -
    OVERRIDE String: 1@1$620360008@ENDDATE$29-SEP-10@
      PRFL_NB_TX       CO_NM                  CNTC_NM                          Start Date                 End Date
      xxxxxxxx        XXXX-ACADEMY           ROB TESTNAME        9/21/2010  12:00:0  9/10/29  12:00:00A
Notice the Start and END date YEAR
Here is where things get a bit confusing as the functions called either read the Database or format the date and Return it in the same DATE array.
The data provided above was exported as a txt file from a basic Crystal report.
I can provide Code snipits if needed including native SQLDeveloper exection displays where the date returned to the SP is correct

This was a date CAST issue in one formula. I had cast all the others in the function and the one missing one was causing the issues.
    Thanks for all who read.

  • Issues with importing song data and artworks

    Hi all,
I am having annoying problems with importing songs to iTunes. I recently reinstalled my OS (Windows 7) and iTunes. Now, that I want to import all the songs, I'm facing some difficulties:
    1. iTunes just won't import song data for some albums, although they are clearly included in the song. Windows Media Player has no problems with them, it is just iTunes. Funny thing, so far it only happens to songs previously encoded by iTunes...
    2. A very general problem: iTunes doesn't import artworks properly, coming with the files. Even if it is music that was previously imported by iTunes. I can see the artwork in the Windows Explorer and in the Windows Media Player... but not in iTunes. But then again, sometimes, it works automatically... maybe 1 out of 6 albums...
Any ideas? maybe it's the ID3 tag version, script issues (UTF, vs. ASCII,...)
    Cheers. Alex.

Update: I had a couple of more such issues, where the album and/or the artist were imported as "unknown". When I went into the ID3 tags, I saw, that ALL OF THEM had a "0" written into their comments. And ALL OF THOSE albums were either imported through through, or bought from iTunes. Apple Hurray. :-/

  • Error export universes with Import Wizard to BIAR file

We've some problems exporting universes to a BIAR file using the Import Wizard. Our environment is a BOXI R3.1 on a Windows 2003 machine with Windows AD authentication.
When we try to export universes with the Import Wizard into a BIAR file, all objects are marked with error "Unknown export failure". This problem occours, since we have defined "Access Restrictions" with BO Universe Designer. When I unmark the option universes and select all, the export works without any problems.
We're using Windows AD authentification, so the users and groups that are defined in the "Access Restrictions" are AD users and groups.
How can we backup universes with Access Restrictions? Is there a known problem exporting universes that are using AD groups in the Access Restrictions?

  • Issue with IMPORT WIZARD xi 3.1 SP2

    Hello experts,
When i am trying to import universes from DEV to QA in BO xi 3.1 SP2 , It doest prompted me any option to select a specific universe to be imported. It askes me to select user groups, but my question is how can io select a perticular object to import from DEV to QA
Environment: BO XI 3.1 SP2, SAP BW 3.5
    Thanks
    Prashanth

    Hi,
when the Import Wizard is started you are prompted to identify which kind of objects you want to import. If you just want to transfer universes just uncheck all other objects. Otherwise the Import Woizard will require in the next steps additional information on what are the contents that you want to import. Assuming you have kept the selection to import users then you will be first asked which users to import. Some steps later the IW will prompt you to check the universes you want to transfer.
I would suggest to take a look at the IW guide. http://help.sap.com/businessobject/product_guides/boexir31/en/xi3-1_bip_importwiz_en.pdf
