Trouble with Linking Buttons to Articles in Other Folios

I am very new to DPS as in I just started working with it less than a week ago. My main problem now is linking buttons from one page in a Folio to another.
My set up right now is this:
I have a folio named "Cover" that has the landscape and protrait version of the articles.
I have a button placed on the articles that I want to link from Cover to a folio named "Menu" which also has both orientations
I understand the 'navto://', but I am not clear on how you connect folios of the same project.
Reading through the Adobe tutorials definitely walks me through setting this up, but not how to make it all work together easily.
Thank for any help.
-Frank

Your terminology is somewhat confusing.
My best bet is that you want to link from a certain page in one article (e.g. "Cover") to a certain page in another (e.g. "Menu").
If that's correct, then
navto://Menu or navto://Menu#0
will send you to first page of "Menu" article
navto://Menu#1
will send you to the second page of "Menu" article
navto://Menu#2
will send you to the third page of "Menu" article
and so on...

    Hello, Kevandsheila.
    Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
    Here are some troubleshooting steps that I could recommend when experiencing Home button issues.  The article below is labeled for the iPhone, but the steps are the same for your iPad.
    The Home button is slow to respond
    If the Home button is slow to respond when exiting one application, try another application.
    If the issue exists only in certain applications, try removing and reinstalling those applications. Get further assistance in installing and troubleshooting applications.
    If the issue continues, Try turning iPhone off and then on again. If the iPhone will not restart, try resetting it.
    If the issue is still happening, try to restore the iPhone.
    Seek service is the issue is still occurring.
    The Home button isn't working
    Put the iPhone to sleep.
    Wait a couple of seconds.
    Press the Home button.
    iPhone should wake up.
    If iPhone does not wake up, then iPhone should be serviced.
    If the issue persists after all the steps have been processed see the last section labeled issue not resolved.

  • How to use user defined object with linked button

    Hi experts
    Can I use user defined table data with linked button. If yes then how. plz give me sample examples.
    Regards
    Gorge

    If you have an UDO in your form, or any other, the FormDataLoad eventhandler should be used.
    Take care, it is not inside the eventhandler.
    for VB:
    Select SBO_APPLICATION in the classes, and select FormDataLoad event
    Private Sub SBO_Application_FormDataEvent(ByRef BusinessObjectInfo As SAPbouiCOM.BusinessObjectInfo, ByRef BubbleEvent As Boolean) Handles SBO_Application.FormDataEvent
    in C#
    Add a new eventhandler as
    // declaration
    SBO_Application.FormDataEvent += new SAPbouiCOM._IApplicationEvents_FormDataEventEventHandler(ref SBO_Application_FormDataEvent);
    // eventhandler:
    public void SBO_Application_FormDataEvent(ref SAPbouiCOM.BusinessObjectInfo BusinessObjectInfo, out bool BubbleEvent)

  • Problem with Link Button

    Hi
    I've got a linked button in a column within a matrix that shows Sales Order Document Numbers. I've set it to link to the Sales Order form using the following code:
            oColumn = oColumns.Add("OrderNum", SAPbouiCOM.BoFormItemTypes.it_LINKED_BUTTON)
            oColumn.TitleObject.Caption = "Order Number"
            oColumn.Width = 200
            oColumn.Editable = False
            oLink = oColumn.ExtendedObject
            oLink.LinkedObject = SAPbouiCOM.BoLinkedObject.lf_Order
    The problem I've got though is that if the Sales Order is created with a manually entered Document Number I get the following error when clicking on the linked button.:
    "You are not permitted to perform this action [Message 200-30]"
    I guess the reason it is happening is that the DocEntry and DocNum are different and the Linked Button is using the DocEntry as reference to which Sales Order needs to be opened when the linked button is pressed.
    Is there anyway to stop this from happening and for the Linked Button to function as normal even if the Sales Order has a manually entered document number? So is there a way to allow the Linked Button to link through to a Sales Order using the DocNum not the DocEntry?
    Steve

    Cheers mate. I've just tried setting using the PressLink property of the EditTextColumn object however it's not letting me set the EditTextColumn to the column I have in my matrix. The code I have is:
                                            Dim b As SAPbouiCOM.Column
                                            Dim oEditTC As SAPbouiCOM.EditTextColumn
                                            Try
                                                If pVal.Before_Action = False Then
                                                    oForm.Freeze(True)
                                                    oEditTC = oMatrix.Columns.Item("DocEntry")
                                                    oEditTC.Visible = True
                                                    oEditTC.PressLink(pVal.Row)
                                                    oEditTC.Visible = False
                                                    oForm.Freeze(False)
                                                End If
                                            Catch test As Exception
                                                MsgBox(test.Message)
                                            End Try
    The error I am getting is "Specified Cast Is Not Valid". The type of column I am trying to bind to is a "it_LINKED_BUTTON".

    I'm afraid there are numerous threads on here discussing this problem. I posted in this one earlier that has a couple of suggestions, but the real solution will hopefully be provided in an update from Apple:

  • Help with linking buttons to Scenes

    Hey,
    Rookie to Flash and AS3. Just needed some help with my buttons. Im making a flash program about pancakes (random I know). I have a "Mainmenu" scene and then a "Recipe" scene. I have a button on my mainmenu which takes me to the recipe page when I click it, the code behind the button is
    "stop();btn_recipe.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler);function mouseDownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
    gotoAndStop(1, "Recipe");
    Then when I arrive at my recipe page I have a button which will take me back to my MainMenu, the code behind that button is:
    "stop();btn_home.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouse5DownHandler);function mouse5DownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
    gotoAndPlay(1, "MainMenu");
    So I run my program and the first button works and takes me to recipe page but the button to get to the main menu does nothing, click it and no response or anything
    Please help

    First, hopefully having all your code mushed onto the same line is a copy/paste error, otherwise it should look like...
    stop();
    btn_recipe.addEventListener(MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, mouseDownHandler);
    function mouseDownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
         gotoAndStop(1, "Recipe");
    If the intention is to click the buttons to make them work, then you should use CLICK instead of MOUSE_DOWN.  MOUSE_DOWN can be a persistent state whereas CLICK involves releasing it afterwards.
    As for the code to get you back home, where is it located on the timeline?  Are you getting any error messages when you try to use it?
    One thing you should learn to use is the trace() function.  It is useful for troubleshooting.  You can use it now to see if your second button is talking to the function at all...
    stop();
    btn_home.addEventListener(MouseEvent.CLICK, mouse5DownHandler);
    function mouse5DownHandler(event:MouseEvent):void {
         trace("the button works okay");
         gotoAndPlay(1, "MainMenu");
    If you don't get that message in the output panel, you'll know the button is not properly coded to work.
    Most folks here will recommend you get away from using scenes in a design that includes navigation--they have a history of being problematic.  Instead of using scenes, divide the one main timeline up into sections or use movieclips for the sections and manage their visibility... or do a bit of both.

  • Link to an article in another folio and favoriting pages

    Is it possible to create a hyperlink to another folio in the same app? The navto:// command links to another article but only in the same folio, or any article in the app?
    Also, i`ve been told that it would be possible to favorite a page in the folio, but I`ve never seen that, does anyone know about this?
    I heard that these would be new features it would be possible but I didn`t find anywhere how to do this.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hello Bob,
    It seems there's a text discrepancy in the Advanced Linking article of the Advanced Overlays folio.  The first button in the upper left says "Page 4 of Hyperlinks Article in Basic Overlays", however the name of the issue/folio in the library is "Overlay Basics".  The text below the button reads, "Jump to page 4 of an article in the Advanced Overlays folio.", however it should say "Basic Overlays" or "Overlay Basics" shouldn't it?  I'm not trying to be a nitpicker, but it could be confusing for newer folks.

    I fixed the other things, I just need to fix two more problems and then clean up my code so it looks more professional.
    First problem: When I add the Student variables to the studentsList, they aren't sorted. I think this is because they aren't being read as Strings and so there's no way to compare them. I could just do studentVar.toString(), but then studentsList would be full of Strings and not Students. Any ideas?
          * Pre:          students.dat in current directory
          *                studentList instantiated
          * Post:     studentList has Student objects with names, not images(yet)
          * Purpose:     to set up studentList with student names

              try {
                   FileReader dataInput = new FileReader("students.dat");
                   input = new Scanner(dataInput);
              } catch (FileNotFoundException e) {
                   System.err.println("ERROR:Students.dat file not found");
                   e.printStackTrace();
              studentsList = new RefSortedList();
              while(input.hasNextLine()){
                   String studentName = input.nextLine();
                  studentVar = new Student(studentName);
                   studentsList.add(studentVar);
              System.out.println(studentsList + "");
         }//readStudentNames()Here's the add() method of RefSortedList:
    public void add(Comparable element)
      // Adds element to this list.
        LLObjectNode prevLoc;     // trailing reference
        LLObjectNode location;    // traveling reference
        Comparable listElement;   // current list element being compared
        boolean moreToSearch;
        // Set up search for insertion point.
        location = list;
        prevLoc = null;
        moreToSearch = (location != null);
        // Find insertion point.
        while (moreToSearch)
          listElement = (Comparable)location.getInfo();
          if (listElement.compareTo(element) < 0)  // list element < add element
             prevLoc = location;
             location = location.getLink();
             moreToSearch = (location != null);   // stop looking at end of list
          else
            moreToSearch = false;     // list element >= add element
        // Prepare node for insertion.
        LLObjectNode newNode = new LLObjectNode(element);
        // Insert node into list.
        if (prevLoc == null)
          // Insert as first node.
          newNode.setLink(list);
          list = newNode;
        else
          // Insert elsewhere.
          newNode.setLink(location);
          prevLoc.setLink(newNode);
        numElements++;
      }

  • Having trouble with links to specific destinations in pdfs

    I'm trying to create links from a web page to specific locations (destinations) in a pdf. I make the destinations in Acrobat, then I create the links in the web page (for example, userguide.pdf#intro), and they work perfectly in IE and Opera but not in Firefox. When I try these links in Firefox, it links to the pdf, but to the wrong place (usually the top of the pdf, but sometimes other places too). This has happened on two different computers, too.
    Someone has recently suggested that it may not be a Firefox problem after all, but a Reader problem--specifically, a problem with the Reader plug-in we have on Firefox. Does anyone have any insight on this?

    Hi,
    That usually means that either the Domain name or the Folder is incorrectly specified. Please see https://helpx.adobe.com/muse/using/uploading-site-third-party-hosting.html for an explanation of these fields.
    What values are you entering in these fields? Did Upload to FTP host work for you in previous versions of Muse? Are you using the same settings as before?
