Trouble with negative refinement filters and data source on OID 2.3

I'm having trouble using the negative refinement filters on a data source with Information Discovery 2.3
Here's the data source configuration

When I reach a Dashboard page where all the portlets are using this datasource, the record filter is applied as expected. However, for the negative refinement filter, while it does appear in the breadcrumb portlet, it has no effect on the data set. The guided navigation still shows the value as a possible dimension and I can see in my results table that the data was not removed by the negative refinement filter. I tried to restart Tomcat, with no effect.
If I go in the guided navigation and define negatively this value, on the COMPANY dimension, the data gets filtered out and I get 2 negative refinements to show up in the breadcrumb for the same value (!)
Is there something I'm missing to configure the negative refinement filter?

Your configuration looks correct.
I can think of two possible issues but we're really just shooting in the dark:
1) "Rogue" whitespace.
- If your value is not actually "PROMO" but is "PROMO ", then your filter would not exclude anything. It would also explain why you could then add a negative refinement for the "true value". To validate this, use a browser with some debugging capabilities (i.e. Chrome), have your negative refinement applied by default and then "manually apply" it in Studio.
Then, open up your browser's debug view (in Chrome, right-click on the value you just added and click "Inspect Element".). Hopefully, the HTML will show slightly differently and you can see the whitespace in the manually added refinement.
2) Would this happen to be a managed attribute? I believe managed attribute values can have display names and real names and the real name should be used for filtering purposes. I doubt this is the problem but it's the only other thing I could think of...

Having trouble with pop-up windows and ads for MacKeeper

I've been having trouble with pop-up windows and ads for MacKeeper and similar "services." Tried to download "MPlayerX" a week ago and it all started then. I thought I deleted the file but I'm still having trouble. I've been digging for solutions on here, but nothing I've found on here has worked yet--the VSearch stuff (I think) isn't on my hard drive. Any advice?

You installed a variant of the "VSearch" trojan. Remove it as follows.
This malware has many variants. Anyone else finding this comment should not expect it to be applicable.
Back up all data before proceeding.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:
/Library/LaunchAgents/com.venus.agent.plist
Right-click or control-click the line and select
          Services ▹ Reveal in Finder (or just Reveal)
from the contextual menu.* A folder should open with an item selected. Drag the selected item to the Trash. You may be prompted for your administrator login password.
Repeat with each of these lines:
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.venus.daemon.plist
/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.venus.helper.plist
Restart the computer and empty the Trash. Then delete the following items in the same way:
/Library/Application Support/venus
/System/Library/Frameworks/v.framework
The problem may have started when you downloaded and ran an application called "MPlayerX." That's the name of a legitimate free movie player, but the name is also used fraudulently to distribute VSearch. If there is an item with that name in the Applications folder, delete it, and if you wish, replace it with the genuine article from mplayerx.org.
This trojan is often found on illegal websites that traffic in pirated content such as movies. If you, or anyone else who uses the computer, visit such sites and follow prompts to install software, you can expect more of the same, and worse, to follow. Never install any software that you downloaded from a bittorrent, or that was downloaded by someone else from an unknown source.
In the Security & Privacy pane of System Preferences, select the General tab. The radio button marked Anywhere should not be selected. If it is, click the lock icon to unlock the settings, then select one of the other buttons. After that, don't ignore a warning that you are about to run or install an application from an unknown developer.
Then, still in System Preferences, open the App Store or Software Update pane and check the box marked
          Install system data files and security updates (OS X 10.10 or later)
or
          Download updates automatically (OS X 10.9 or earlier)
if it's not already checked.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select
          Go ▹ Go to Folder...
from the menu bar and paste into the box that opens by pressing command-V. You won't see what you pasted because a line break is included. Press return.

Creation of connection pools and data sources

Hi,
is there a possibility to create jdbc connection pools and data sources not manually, with a script or a mbean?
That would be helpfull, because at the moment every developper has to do that for himself (because of the individuals generated passwords).

Anyone having trouble with App Store install and cloud store buttons not working after 6.1 update? I go to install an app. I hit install and nothing happens. About a minute later it asks me for my password and then it does nothing. The install button goes back to saying install. However the app shows up in my installed list and in cloud but no app installed.

OK - I found a helpful post - closed app store app and under Settings/General/Date and Time I reset the date and time by switching off "Set Automatically" and then switching it on again. Went back to App Store, launched it and Updatesseems to be working again.
Go figure? Logical, No!

Here are the steps I have taken and the results:
Changed my Apple ID with new email address.
Changed my iCloud with above new email address.
NOW - Apple ID appears correct in AppStore Settings, iCloud and AppStore*
If I scroll to bottom of screen in *App Store/Featured, I can see that the Apple ID is my new email.
Upon “updating” Apple ID reflects OLD email.
Deleted accounts, re-added accounts.
Signed out and signed in with new UN/Email
Issue remains the same.

To migrate your data to a new iCloud account go to Settings>iCloud and turn off all synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.), when prompted choose to keep the data on your phone. After everything is set to off, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Next, create the new iCloud account on your phone and turn on syncing for contacts, calendars, etc again. If prompted, choose Merge. This will upload your data to the new iCloud account.

Its seems a simple a work out.
1.Go to RSO2 & choose the relevant option ie. whether you want to create Transactional DS, Master Data DS or Text DS.
2. Name it accordingly & then create.
3. Give description to it & then give table name FAGLFLEXA.
4. Save it & activate. If you need it to be delta enabled then click over Delta & you can choose accordingly.

Argh - once again, I find my solution right after posting this. Left out one modification to the SWIG script, now it runs in 29 seconds vs C 16 seconds, I can live with that.

I have Site Admin permissions on an On Prem SharePoint 2013 site.
In SharePoint Designer 2013 the Data View and Data Source buttons are greyed out.
Can anyone shed some light as to why this is occurring?

Could you provide a screenshot about the location you want to insert the Data View web part and Data Source?
I think you may put the mouse cursor in the incorrect place to add the data view web part, please try putting the cursor before the tag </ZoneTemplate> and see if "Data View" button is enabled, then you can insert an empty
dataview web part and then insert the data source in tag <DataSources> by clicking ribbon button "Data Source" (also click the ribbon button "Parse HTML" of the page if needed).

Clone schema with current db objects and data.

I need feature to clone existing schema and create new schema with schema as a service. I created profile that export schema with database objects and data. I created template that use the profile created. While provisioning the template I found all the database objects with template. Now I need a solution to clone the current schema with all the objects at current time. The way I tried contains all the objects that were exists while exporting the schema. I need the solution to clone schema so that it will contains all the objects and data right now.
While reading document I found snapclone but that is not the exactly the solution I need. I simply need to clone schema with latest db object and data with Self Service portal.

One option is to run BACKUP/RESTORE, once you have restored you run:

Copy result and paste into a query window do to run. Next:
SELECT 'DELETE ' + quotename(s.name) + '.' + quotename(o.name)
FROM   sys.schemas s
JOIN   sys.objects o ON o.schema_id = s.schema_id
WHERE o.type = 'U'
Run this result until you don't get any more errors.
Run the first query again, but change DISABLE to ENABLE.
This is more long-winding than scripting, particularly if you have lots of data. But you know that you will not make any changes whatsoever to the schema.
The scripting in SSMS generally does it right, I believe, but some items are not scripted by default. If you run BACKUP/RESTORE, you know that you get a faithful copy.
Of course, the best way is to keep your code under version control and take the version control system as your ultimate truth.

You didn't mention what those "other functions" were. That might help!
First thing to check is System Preferences > Keyboard > Keyboard tab - make sure "Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys" is un-checked. Hopefully that still works in Mountain Lion.
