Trouble with syncing my playlists

since updating to ios5 software playlists in itunes do not sync to my phone.I might get say one or two songs in the playlist but it doesnt sync the playlist complete. Would anyone know why this is or how to fix it?

So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct?  Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order?  Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver.  If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details).  When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.
There are more details in the manual for the 3rd gen shuffle, which is online here
http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_3rdGen_UG.pdf
See page 22 for the section about setting up and using VoiceOver.  The part about switching playlists starts on page 23 (Using the Playlist Menu).

I'm having trouble with syncing my iPod. It gets stuck on the last step saying, "Waiting for changes to be applied." It's been doing this for the last half hour. Is there anything I can do to correct this or is am just going to have to restore my iPod?

You can sync/manually mange iphone with one and only one computer.  If you sync/manually mange to anther, then it will erase the current content and replace with content from the new computer.

  • Serious trouble with syncing

A few weeks ago I've discovered that my 8G Nano won't sync after I plug it in, it will just freeze and do nothing - it will sync automaically when it's first plugged in, but if I want to sync it again I have to unplugg it and then plugg in again.
And today it converted all my music to a select playlist because I had no free space, and now I can't reset or restore it. It says that "all playlists no longer exist" and everytime I unplugg it and plugg in again, the settings will be just the same, with the select playlist.
    What can I do??

    Hi,
    Thanks for the response.
Well, I have it turned on, if that's what you mean. On both the phone and the computer (when phone is hooked up) I have the message that the last time I synced was 9/17/13. Every once in a while, while charging the phone overnight, with wireless on, I get a message saying that in order for iCloud backup to work the phone must be plugged in and connected to a wireless network. Apparently there is a failure to communicate with the mother ship, despite my following instructions.
My suspicion is that this failure is related to the failure to sync with iTunes, but I'm just guessing.

  • New itunes, trouble with syncing

My itunes was recently removed from my computer, and im having a little bit of trouble with it. is it possible to put the music from my ipod to my itunes? because its not letting me.

Kim, sorry, but I couldn't get what you are trying to do.
    iTunes jargon
RESTORE - to erase all data, ie music, address, video etc in the connected iPod and populate them with factory settings.
Why do we need to do this? When the iPod hardisk filesystem is corrupted and the iTunes cant map the iPod hardisk file structure, to add new data, music, videos etc.
SYNC - The process, where iTunes overrides all data, music, videos in the iPod, with the iTunes Library. So if the iTunes library in your PC is blank, then iTunes will erase your iPod, till blank.
iTunes Library - the folder in your PC/MAC that contains all your data/music/video etc. The iTunes does not treat the iPod as a store, but rather as huge landfill, so you need 3rd party software to recover any data from the iPod back to the PC/MAC.

  • All sorts of trouble with syncing my iPod?

I have an iPod Touch 5th Gen, 64 GB, iOS 8.0.2. Which was only just recently updated; along with my iTunes version 11.4.
This is run on my Mac OS X Version 10.7.5.
Ever since updating the software my iPod is taking up to an hour to Sync, even just a few items. After finally completing the sync, certain playlists, songs, albums etc. don't end up transferring.
I've tried multiple times and made sure items are 'checked'. But it's getting quite frustrating waiting so long for nothing.
Would be incredibly grateful if anyone knows a way to solve this conundrum?

  • Trouble with syncing

When trying to sync my playlists it seems to freeze and not sync them the a box pops up and says "The iPod cannot be synced. The disk could not be read or written to." I was only able to add one playlist but have not been able to add any others. I tried restoring that worked at first and one playlist was added, I restored a couple more time but it seemed to freeze and now won't restore. Do I need to send it in I still have a warranty on it. Any help would be great.
    Thanks in advance.

  • Trouble with the iTunes Playlist

I have downloaded and installed iTunes. It was operationg successfuly for some time... I imported music from my computer and transfered it to my iPod. But after a while "recently added" item disappeared from my Playlist. Now I have problems with searching and transferring songs from my playlist to iPod, 'cause my Playlist is messy and when I'm addind a new folder to the library, my new songs appear together with the old ones, thus it's difficult to find new songs among hundred of old songs. How can I add "recently added" item to my Playlist?
    Tnaks in advance.

Recently Added is just a Smart Playlist and you can recreate it. In iTunes go to File>New Smart Playlist. Match the rule "Date Added">"is in the last">"1">"Days" make the days and the interval to suit yourself, you can have days, weeks or months.
    Check the box "Live Updating"

  • Trouble with importation and playlist.

I've bought a shuffle 2°nd generation, When I try to import a song in it a receive the message that the it can't read or write on the disc [ipod].
I've added many songs to the library anda i've creted a playlist with a personal sequence of execution of all songs in the library, then i've closed all, formatted the ipod, reopened Itunes and it import all the songs in the ipod, but in a casual sequence [i've unchecked casual importation].
Well, the songs are in the ipod and they work, but if i try to import the playlist by pressing import e selecting as source the playlist on itunes I get the same message "can't read or write on the disc" [or something similar, I don't remember exactly].
In fact I can import songs in the ipod when i plug in the first time...after that any operation is impossible.
There's an alternative method to rearrange the songs on the ipod in playlist that i've on itunes???

  • HT1386 trouble with syncing playlists

I am having trouble syncing my music playlists to  my iphone 5.  I have the playlists checked under my devices, however when I click sync they do not appear on my phone.

Try un-syncing them first to remove them all, then try syncing again.

  • Updating my iPod touch 4th gen to iOS5 - I'm having trouble with syncing in general.

I first synced my iPod touch to my old computer on iTunes, and then I got my laptop and I downloaded iTunes, plugged in my iPod, and use it to download music. But the old computer broke, and we got a new one, with a different hardrive and everything. I didn't mind, because I was content with just using iTunes on my laptop for searching for and downloading music. The iOS 5 update came out, and at first I wasn't bothered, but now it seems to be hindering the performance of iTunes in general, as I can't download music off my computer - it keeps coming up with Error 13019.
I looked on tons of support forums, and they all mentioned syncing music and apps. I didn't think that would be a problem, but whenever I tick the box saying 'sync music', the memory bar goes RIGHT DOWN, as if it's deleting all the songs I got off CDs, which I don't want, and whenever I tick the box saying 'sync apps', it comes up with all the apps I had a few months ago, missing out all of the apps I have now, which would no doubt delete my progress on them.
I've even tried just clicking 'sync' on the main device page, but it just comes up with Error 13019.
And every time I right click on my iPod's name to click 'back up' as many of the forums said, iTunes freezes and nothing happens for about 10 minutes, and I end up having to force close it on the task manager. This has happened 4 times already. -_- I've even updated iTunes to the most recent version, but nothing's changed.
I'm scared to update my iPod, because of course it says it will delete everything, and there's no way I can back things up or sync them without them getting deleted.
Any suggestions on what the heck I should do? By the way, I'm an amateur in the technology world, so please don't use too many fancy words. =)

Try here first to get rid of the error:
    iTunes: Error 13019 during sync
Then you should be ablt to make the backup. Just not that the backup that iTunes makes does not insluced synced media like apps and music.
    iTunes: About iOS backups
    - You can transfer iTunes purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discussed here. Google for more.
    Copy music

  • Hi, i'm having trouble with syncing my iPod. (after the latest iTunes-update)

It's a classic, but I have no idea what generation... but it was bought in early 08, and have 80gb. Anyway, it has been working fine all the time, but by the latest iTunes-update, it has stopped working. (mac) Every time I try to connect it with my computer, iTunes says that "this iPod appears to be destroyed, try to restore" (I'm having iTunes in Norwegian, so not sure if this is the direct translation, but hopefully you'll get the picture) - and I try to do this, again and again, but nothing seems to work. I have tried to turn off the computer, put iPod in disc-mode, let the battery run out, give it a two-week break, and now I'm out of guesses on what to do. But no matter what I do it allways appear to have zero songs on it after I am done syncing, and I allways get the "try to restore"-message when i connect it again.
It's possible that it's just old age or something, but I really want to try everything first, as it seems to be all right otherways. It also works when I connect it with my friend's  PC, but since she has ****** taste of music () it's not an option. I have a MacBook, also from 2008.
And just to clearify. I have an iPad2, and an old iPod nano (2006) and both works with my computer/iTunes.

    See:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    I would start with
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
    or
Removing and reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows Vista or Windows 7

  • I am having trouble with syncing my iPhone 5 to my iTunes on my macbook

I have been trying to sync my iphone 5 with my macbook but itunes keeps saying 'error (-54)'. I downloaded new albums and they will not sync onto my iphone, and this has never been a problem in the past. Also, on my itunes, when i click on 'Iphone' it shows some of the song titles faded out with a dotted circle beside them, indicating that they cannot be played. I have tried restarting my mac but it has not worked. Could anyone help me?

    Hello, katieokane1.
Thank you for visiting Apple Support Communities.
This sounds like a possible permission issue with the iTunes Media Folder.  Follow the steps in the article below to make sure the permissions are set to read and write.  You can also navigate to ~/music/iTunes/iTunes Media and get info on to make sure permissions are set to read and write.

  • To All IPod Users having Trouble with Live Updating playlists.

I thought I should share this with other IPod users as there is quite a bit of discussion on the net about it.
After 3 days trying to get "Smart Playlists"to live update on my IPod touch, reading, researching and reading more, I finally got my Ipod playlist to live update.
I've discovered that certain rules break live updating.
OK it is only a basic set of rules, but it is working.
The 1st thing I did was group all my songs using the "Composer" field. Do not use sorting, it breaks live updating.
example: All songs were composed by Music, all Soundtracks were composed by Soundtrack. And so on. I did this in ITunes using "Get Info".
I placed two rules in my playlist:
    Composer is Music
Last Played is not in the last 6 months.
    I ticked "Live Update"
Do not use Limit to as this breaks Live Updating as well.
If your list is in a different order on your IPod then in ITunes just select any other column in ITunes other than the numbered column, e.g. Name. Your list should match now in both ITunes and your IPod.
Just use shuffle within the playlist to mix things up.
Once played your track should drop off your playlist.
    Hope this helps.

I live by my Smart playlist to sort out all my TV shows and Video Podcast but it suddenly stopped updating after I paid $25 for the iTunes Match service.
It stopped in iTunes. I don't worry to much about my iPhones because I plug them in every day and it will update iTunes.
If iTunes doesn't work the apple TV, iPads and iPhones don't work.
Do I need to cancel the iTunes Match service?
    Please someone find a fix.
