Troubleshooting in OSB

Hi All,
I have a doubt in OSB. In BPEL if any project is deployed and we test that BPEL process instance will get created in em console for the process.If error occurs at any stage of the BPEL process we can see where the error has occured and what error has occured in that BPEL process by seeing its corresponding instance. Like that is it possible to see the flow trace for an OSB project? Because in OSB instance is not getting created when any application calls the OSB project or when the OSB project is tested from sb console.
Suppose if a service calls the OSB project and OSB is calling the endsystem[client service --> OSB --> end system], suppose if any occurs in OSB side or end system is down how can we troubleshoot this error? because instance will not get created in sb console. How can we troubleshoot in that case?
My opinion is when desinging the business logic we can put alerts, or log activities. if we put alert activity we can see the error in Alert destination in sbconsole. if we put log activity means where we can see the error message. Please correct me if i am wrong.
can anyone help me in this issue?
Thanks in advance,
Arun.

As OSB is stateless, concept of instance is not applicable.
One of the ways is to use alerts, that you seem to have already tried. And if you use the log action, you should see the statements in the server logs.
Choose an appropriate log level for the different statements and ensure that the weblogic logging level is also set appropriately.
For ex. if the weblogic logging is set to ERROR and you try to have a log action at DEBUG level, you cannot see the logs.
if the weblogi logging is set to DEBUG and if you use log action with levels Debug,Info, Warning, Error - all of them will be visible.
If this is only for your debugging the scenarios, you can also enable tracing (in Operation Settings) on the proxy/business service to capture the complete trace of the execution. But ensure this setting is turned off in PROD environments as this hampers performance.
Thanks,
Patrick

  • Two listener for the same queue - different extraction rule

    Hi all.
    I've the following situation that I'm trying to troubleshoot.
    OSB communicates with another system using JMS Queues.
    One queue for teh request, one for the response.
    Depending on the kind of service, the request is published on the request using a dynamical routing to a Business Service. Depending on the cases, this business service could be:
    1. Just insertion on the queue (no response required)
    2. "Queue Manager" - Insertion and wait for response (response required, JMS Correlation ID as correlation pattern)
    About the extraction from the response queue, when the messages are published from the "Queue Manager", then they must be extracted from the same resource based on the Correlation ID.
    Otherwise, all the messages published in other way (not the "Queue Manager" but the option #1), a different resource should extract them from the response queue (a proxy service with protocol JMS).
    What happens at runtime is that the messages published from the "Queue Manager" are extracted from the other resource.
    How can I solve this?
    Do I need to use two separate queues or there is a way to configure two different listener on the queue, one based on the JMS Correlation ID and the other one that extracts all the other requests?
    Thanks in advance to anyone that will help.

    Unfortunately, I've already evaluate the message selector option, but in the following case:
    BS1 (Request Only)----->JMSQRequest ----->Your Logic ----->JMS Reponse--->JMS Proxy service with Message selector
    The JMS Proxy with message selector should know the value that is the key for the extraction. In this case we have not this infornation since when we run this scenario there is an external system that extracts the request and provides the response... and in the middle we lost the informations (e.g. if we use a key ID, the Proxy with message selector doesn't knwo which value is has to search for in the ID).
    For the moment I think that the best solution could be to have two separate queues, but I'm trying to figure out if there is any other option.

    BEA-381826 suggest that there is any issue with your public key in known_host file, can you cross verify it again. Also can you check if known_host file has appropriate permissions and I am assuming it is in /OSB_DOMAIN/osb/transports/sftp folder.
    Hostname,IP algorithm publickey are the hostname, ip, and public key of SFTP server.
    As per troubleshooting guidelines
    The Key not found for IP, host error message indicates that the known_hosts file does not contain an entry that corresponds to the specified IP-host combination. If the entry exists, then try with another algorithm key; for example, if the earlier attempt was with an RSA key, try again with a DSA key.

  • Java client for OSB proxy with JMS Transport

    Hi,
    I am trying to call OSB proxy with JMS Transport. I am generating the client through ant task clientgen and following this article
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/articles/murphy-soa-jms-092653.html
    The osb proxy is req-response and is simply routing to BS which return a string value.
    When I run my client, it get stuck and does not return at all. Has any one trying java client in such scenario?
    What I may be missing?
    Below is snipped of client code:
    String url = "http://localhost:7021/sbresource?PROXY/MySample/MyJMSProxyService";
    CreditLoanApprovalServiceSoapBindingQSService service = new CreditLoanApprovalServiceSoapBindingQSService_Impl(url);
    MyPortType port = service.getCreditLoanApprovalServiceSoapBindingQSPort();
    LoanStruct in = new LoanStruct(); //populated the data structure
    String loanResult = port.processLoanApp(in); // Stuck here without any error
    System.out.println("LoanResult--> " + loanResult);
    Thx
    /Ashwani

    http://localhost:7021/sbresource?PROXY/MySample/MyJMSProxyService is the WSDL URL of the proxy.
    Transport is is picked by the client from wsdl.
    As far as the documentation of client generation is there, there is no change.
    But meanwhile I have started working on sending the message directly to queue. JMSProxy is getting called. May be I will first run the proxy this way and then try troubleshooting the java client.
    Regards
    Ashwani

  • OSB sbconsole responding slow.

    Hi,
    We have OSB 11.1.1.5 installed on Weblogic server 10.3.5 running on 64 bit Linux platform. The OSB installation is a vanilla one with no changes to the default installation, except that we have increased the JVM heap size of osb_server from 512MB to 1024MB. There is around 8GB of RAM available in the server.
    Issue : sbconsole is too slow in responding, each click on any link in the sbconsole takes around 10mins. It also looks like the services deployed in the server are working fine as we get service responses in a second or even quicker.
    Is there anything that has to be done to make the sbconsole respond quicker or where should i start troubleshooting.
    Any pointers in this regard would he helpful.
    Thanks,
    Vijay.

    Hi Anuj,
    Thanks for checking on this thread.
    We have 2048MB allocated to JVM of osb_server and 2048GB to JVM of AdminServer. We have around 30 OSB projects deployed in the server. We are opening the console from remote machine. Im able to login to the console with a wait of around 2-3minutes, but on clicking the Project Explorer link, we have to wait infinitely.

    I can only think of one solution: using the debugging/tracing facilities of OSB. You could enable execution tracing for a particular proxy service, or you could enable debugging of pipelines in the alsbdebug.xml file in your domain's home. For this WLS's log should have a severity level of debug. Of course this would mean you'd have a lot more messages in the log files, not just the errors. I would not recommend this for a production environment.
    Why can't you use the Log action that's specially designed for sending messages to WLS's log file?

    Hi Anuj,
    Thanks for your reply!
    I found that the data source is registered on server soa_server1 as follows:
    Binding Name: jdbc.soademoDatabase
    Class: weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.RmiDataSource_1033_WLStub
    Hash Code: 80328036
    toString Results: ClusterableRemoteRef(8348400613458600489S:10.2.1.143:[8001,8001,-1,-1,-1,-1,-1]:base_domain:soa_server1 [8348400613458600489S:10.2.1.143:[8001,8001,-1,-1,-1,-1,-1]:base_domain:soa_server1/291])/291
    Binding Name: jdbc.SOADataSource
    Class: weblogic.jdbc.common.internal.RmiDataSource_1033_WLStub

    I don't know how to determine which server the DBAdapter is targetted to.
    But I found the following information:
    Under Deoloyment->DBAdapter->Monitoring->Outbound Connection Pools
    Outbound Connection Pool Server State Current Connections Created Connections
    eis/DB/SOADemo AdminServer Running 1 1
    eis/DB/SOADemo soa_server1 Running 1 1
    eis/DB/soademoDatabase AdminServer Running 1 1
    eis/DB/soademoDatabase soa_server1 Running 1 1
    The DbAdapter is related to the following files:
    C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ home_11gR1\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ connectors\ DbAdapter. rar
    C:\ Oracle\ Middleware\ home_11gR1\ Oracle_SOA1\ soa\ DBPlan\ Plan. xml
    I unzipped DbAdapter.rar, opened weblogic-ra.xml and found that there's only one data source is registered:
    <?xml version="1.0"?>
    <weblogic-connector xmlns="http://www.bea.com/ns/weblogic/90">
    <enable-global-access-to-classes>true</enable-global-access-to-classes>

    </pool-params>

                   </property>
                   </properties>
              </connection-properties>
    </connection-instance>
    </connection-definition-group>
    </outbound-resource-adapter>
    </weblogic-connector>
    Then I decided to use eis/DB/SOADemo for testing.
    For JDeveloper project, after I deployed to weblogic server, it works fine.
    But for OSB project referencing wsdl, jca and mapping file from JDeveloper project, still got the same error as follows:
    BEA-380001: Invoke JCA outbound service failed with application error, exception:
    com.bea.wli.sb.transports.jca.JCATransportException: oracle.tip.adapter.sa.api.JCABindingException: oracle.tip.adapter.sa.impl.fw.ext.org.collaxa.thirdparty.apache.wsif.WSIFException: servicebus:/WSDL/DBAdapterTest/DBReader [ DBReader_ptt::DBReaderSelect(DBReaderSelect_inputParameters,PersonTCollection) ] - WSIF JCA Execute of operation 'DBReaderSelect' failed due to: Could not create/access the TopLink Session.

    Internal Exception: javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Unable to resolve 'jdbc.SOADataSource'. Resolved 'jdbc'; remaining name 'SOADataSource'.
    You may need to configure the connection settings in the deployment descriptor (i.e. DbAdapter.rar#META-INF/weblogic-ra.xml) and restart the server. This exception is considered not retriable, likely due to a modelling mistake.
    It almost drive me crazy!!:-(
    What's the purpose of 'weblogic-ra.xml' under the folder of 'C:\Oracle\Middleware\home_11gR1\Oracle_OSB1\lib\external\adapters\META-INF'?

    Hi i have followed the following steps which is specified in this thread
    You need to follow below steps...
    add a java parameter to the OSB server. Go to domains\osb_domain\bin folder and edit the setDomainEnv file and add this line to this file. set JAVA_PROPERTIES=-Dplatform.home=%WL_HOME% -Dwls.home=%WLS_HOME% -Dweblogic.home=%WLS_HOME% -Dcom.sun.xml.namespace.QName.useCompatibleSerialVersionUID=1.0
    Step 2 is to replace the bpel jars in the bpel transport ear. Go folder osb_10.3\lib\transports and open bpel10gtransport.ear and replace the following jar files orabpel.jar, orabpel-common.jar , xmlparserv2.jar and oc4jclient.jar with the ones you can find in the soa suite 10.1.3 home.
    But still i am getting the error.
    I am using WLS (10.0).Is it compatible with bpel-10g protocol, because i have already called a sync BPEL process with http protocol and it worked?This thread talks about WLS(9.2)

    My computer runs on Windows 7, and I've installed and updated the latest versions of itunes etc, but still to no avail! I've tried different usb ports, troubleshooting, etc... But it still says "One of the USB decuces arrached to this omputer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it".
    The iPod is brand new, sent to me by Apple as part of the 1st gen replacement programme. I've been using the cable that came with the 1st gen iPod (I bought the first gen second hand) It always worked on my computer with the 1st gen iPod. So I was wondering, do you think I need to replace my cable in order for my PC to recognize my iPod or is it something else?
    Thanks

    Try a different cable. And are you connecting directly to your computer or through a USB hub?

    Need help? Some of my Ipods are not recognized by Itunes with my Windows 8 PC. (Ipod Nano 4th gen  and Ipod Nano 6th gen), but on my Windows 7 PC, they work fine.  My Ipod 3rd gen and Ipod shuffle work both on Windows 8 and 7 PC's.  On the non-working Ipods, the  Device sync test says "No device found". Already performed all of the Ipod device troubleshooting including reload Itunes, stop start Ipod device, changed drive letter...

  • IPod not recognized by Windows or iTunes, troubleshooting didn't help.

    I have an 80 gig iPod classic. When I plug it into my computer it is not recognized by either Windows or iTunes. However, it does charge while connected. I have gone through every troubleshooting tip on the Apple website and nothing has worked. The only thing I was unable to try was restoring it because it needs to be recognized in iTunes in order to do so. Any suggestions?

    I had the same problem.......
    OK, after 8 hours.. It worked..... I was installling and uninstalling only itunes 9 but not all the apple components in my computer....... uninstall itunes 9 and all its components: Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iPod for Windows, iTunes, QuickTime.
    Under the folder c:\Program Files delete the following folders:
    Apple Software Update, Bonjour, iPod, iTunes, QuickTime
    Search for any hidden folders named "Apple Computer" or "Apple" These may appear under AppData or Local/AppData, Delete these folders.
    Restart your Windows machine and install itunes 9 and quicktime again..... good luck!!!!!
