True or False - re $99 Triple Play

Simple question, but I have gotten conflicting answers from VZ reps: For the current "triple play" promotion that includes "$150 Cash Back" (and is being aggresively promoted in my neighborhood, where virtually everyone already has Verizon phone service only), is it true or false that a current Verizon phone-only customer (not Fios, just copper POTS) is ineligible for the full $150 but will get instead a "pro-rated" $100 cash back?
I cannot find this referenced in *any* of the promotional materials, even in the fine print. Is it true, and if so, why is it not documented anywhere?

This is what I see for the current offer and is in the fine print at the bottom. If you are a copper subscriber and enroll for all three
services you must commit to the terms of the contract.
This it what it shows in my area. It may depend on your area. If you do not have FIOS or never had it it should apply to you. Perhaps one of the good Verizon people here will confirm this.

there's no real rule, because the events are different.
but usual it is before/after displaying or before/after mouseup

How can I downgrade Triple Play to just FIOS Internet?

A couple of months ago, Triple Play seemed like a good deal. I only wanted Internet and TV, but Triple Play came out being the cheapest bundle with both of them. The deal was only available online. When I got it, then I found out that you have to rent a cable box to get TV service, which adds $10/month to the bill. It seemed horribly misleading - if it's actually required, I see no reason to make it a separate expense other than to conceal the true cost of the service - but overall still a good deal.
Now, I find I never watch TV. Ever. There's just no time for it. I like FIOS Internet, but I'm also paying for services that I don't use. And Verizon is making it very difficult to change this. There is no information about doing this at all on any of Verizon's pages. After calling customer support, I find out that the price I'm paying comes from a complicated array of discounts, which are only available to new customers, and would go away if I changed my bundle, meaning that I'd be paying much more if I got rid of the TV service. Not only that, I can't even return the cable box to reduce my monthly bill $10 - doing this would automatically disqualify me from the Triple Play discounts because I can't get TV service without it (even though I absolutely can, just with a very limited selection of channels - I've tried plugging the coax right into the TV and it works more or less).
So, what can I do? Xfinity's Performance bundle at $30/month is looking pretty attractive, and maybe after a 6 month trial period Verizon can consider me a "new customer" again. But if and only if there's a way I can just cut back on the services I don't use and make my bill go down instead of up, I'd just as soon not go to the trouble of changing ISPs.

"Services and fees" are something you can't do about because those are county's charges. As for the $10 charge for the cable box, I don't know what to say but they should have been free. Have you asked why you're being billed for the box? The offer you signed up for is probably alot different than the ones that exists today. Did they charge you for the box the first month you have services.

True or False Quiz

I have written a 'rough' behaviour which I attach to 2
sprites named True and False. When the 'correct' sprite is clicked
on the 'wrong' sprite blend displays 20% and vice versa. Both
sprites when clicked on also change members to either a tick or
cross depending on their settings.
It's pretty rough because I'm still learning lingo - But I'm
trying to achieve the following...
After the choice has been made there can be no further
interaction on both of the sprites (without changing frames or
navigating to a another marker). Something which kills the code in
someway.
What is happening now is that I can select an answer and the
other sprites blend turns to 20% - That's fine. But, if I click on
the sprite that has a blend of 20% then it makes the original
selected sprite turn to 20%. Basically, I want to make the blended
sprite inactive.
Any help much appreciated.

You don't need to check "if something=true then..." because
that's the same
as "if something then...". But sometimes it does make it more
obvious what
you're doing.
Also, you didn't need the second "if pSelect=False then..."
because if
pSelect is not true then it /must/ be false.

Triple play price deception

I tried to upgrade to Triple play last night (phone/dsl/directv). The initial Verizon screen stated 1st month @$74.99 , 2-21mo @ $74.99 and 22-24mo at $79.99. Great deal right?
I got to the "Review Order" screen, the price has gone up to $90.99 which I understand because of the recover fees, that's fine.
But now it $90.99 for the first 12 months and no indication of price for the remaining 12?
The original advertisement was the first prices I mentioned, which was over a 24 month period.
I contacted a chat agent who told me it was a glitch/error.
False advertising I think? I am awaiting a reply by email.

Now the Price has changed like I said before because of the anticipated receiver fees.
But the original deal I was offered is nowhere to be seen, no pricing passed 12 months.
What happened Verizon? Why was the original offer no honored like you advertised?

Free X1 upgrade not available because I don't have Triple Play

Hi, I am new to the forums. I got an email saying I am eligible for an upgrade to x1. I chatted about upgrading and they day I need Triple play to do it. I dont want triple play. Comcast is too unreliable to trust with my phone service, as I need that for my job. I have TV and Internet though comcast. They das that there are no double play offers avaiable. Sounds like false advertising to me, a marketing ploy to get consumers to upgrade to the triple play stupidity. The Comcast service was out for 3 days, while the Verizon landline kept going.

Service Interruptions with FiOS triple play - we are down 8 days out of 21 since install!

Triple play install is just NOT working reliably. We have been down 8 times (days) in the 21 days since install. We have had a tech out twice to check the physical set up. The first tech said it was a paper wprk prpblem on Verizon end. 10 days later 2nd tech said install is fine but he changed out the outside box just to eliinate it as a possibilty. Tech 2 said the problem will be at the Verizon office end that they need to clear out the errors on the card but they wont wnat to do that becuae they will temporariky knock out service to 30 plus other houses on the same card. He gave me his boss' cell # to call for help. Have called him twice to leave messages and no response. I have been on chat with India twice over this using AT&T 3G on the Ipad BTW - hey Verizon areyou going to pay my AT&T bill? I am sure not going to pay my Verizon bill untill this is resolved! India tech support has twice assured me that they have fixed the problem permanently by sending commands to reset - it works but only temporarily. So what, i have to chat with India via AT&T evertime i want to watch TV or go on the internet via Verizon, seriously? And yes i know the weather hS been bad but our powerlines are underground we have not lost power at any time during this period Nd the power outlet to which the system is connected has been checked and is good.
We need some Answers here people. Who has had a similar situation And how did you resolve it.

From the second description -- this sounds like they diagnosed it as a bad PON card in the central office. No "resetting" of boxes on your end is going to fix this if that's the case. While it would be true that Vz might not want to replace this card during the day, a normal maintenance window overnight would typically resolve this in a day or two.
Sounds like you need to open another tech support call and/or contact the cell phone number the tech gave you to get this resolved.
While what you're experiencing is rare, it would definitely explain the experience you've been having.

FIOS Triple Play bundle

On Friday I had them install FIOS triple play bundle. I had a problem with internet because I didn't have an Ethernet connection, however, that's fixed. My question is I received an email saying that within 30 days I need to respond to get the bundle discount and it said they needed my order number and zip code. I entered that info and it came back and said that it was invalid. I tried to enter my verizon user name and password and it said that it was not correct. Is it true that if I don't respond by 30 days they will start charging me more. Anyone that got the triple play...did you have to activate it to get the discount.

Yes you must agree to the bundle within 30 days. You may have the wrong order number. There are times when the order number may get changed. Call the fiber solutions phone number and get it taken care of. They should be able to give you the correct order number. If you have any paper work there could be more then one number. If you can log into My Account on Verizon.com and bring up order history you may find it there faster then calling.

Applescript help with true or false script

I'm in need of a applescript that will run two different scripts based on the outcome of an existing file.
I have a folder called Status. Inside this folder is a simple text file called Good.rtf
I would like a script that would run one or the other script base on the true or false output. If file exists then:
true will
run script A
false will
run script B
I have been searching the web for two days looking for something to help me get started on this and have not had much success.
Please help me.   I really would appropriate any help or guidance.

AppleScript calls this kind of script a "Conditional" = if this > then that
Some templates are in MacintoshHD/Library/Scripts/Script Editor Scripts/Conditionals
You don't need a value for "false" in binary as it is merely "not true" (else)

I signed up for a Triple Play Bundle back towards the end of January for DSL/Phone/DirectTV. After taxes, fees, & discounts, I was quoted about $135 total, across two seperate bills. Direct TV's billing was constant from their end since day one($80); never a problem. Verizon bills me for about $100-110 each month, obviously not accounting for the bundle they signed me up for.
Customer service has not been helpful. After stating that they no longer offer that plan, they all then try to sell me a Fios bundle. Why would I agree to another contract when this one is so woefully in disaray?
I have names of every rep I spoke to & their corresponding 6 digit employee codes, as well as a couple personal emails which stopped responding a while ago.
If anyone can help with this, I would be very much appreciative.

Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Please go to your profile page for the forum, and look in the middle, right at the top where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". The case structure is not working well on comaring two strings using true or false string matching VI

I need an execution of commands after the reply from the instrument matches with the string I provided for that i used true or false string match VI on which the true string the matching command and the string is the reply from the instrument. And I put the further executionable commands in frame after frame of sequence loop in the true of the case structure. Amd finally I given all the output strings to the concatenate string to get all the replies as one loop. But when I execute the program the desired result is not available. So kindly please help me to overcome this problem.

You VI makes absolutely no sense and I would recommend you start with a few simple LabVIEW tutorials before trying to tackle this.
What is the point of the FOR loop with 1 iteration, it might as well not even be there, same difference.
Why is there an abort primitive in the FOR loop, this mean the program will unconditionally stop abort before any downstream code will ever go into action. The program will never get past the FOR loop.
You created a circular data dependency and LabVIEW inserted a feedback node automatically, making things even worse. (see also)
You need to learn about dataflow, execution order, and data dependency.
You need to learn about the various types of tunnels (plain, autoindexing, etc.)
There is a tremendous amount of duplicate code. Large code sections are the same, differeing only by a string. You should only have one copy of that code inside a proper state machine. Have a look at the design templates and examples that ship with LabVIEW.

Parameter Query for True or False values

I have what seems like a painfully simple task and it has me stopped dead. I reviewed a similar thread, and the answers there don't seem to apply. Working in Crystal 11.5 with an MS SQL database.
I am pulling data from vwCommmittees. There is a field in this view called IsActive. I want to create a committee list report that will allow the user to select only the active committees or all committees.
A SQL select statement that says where dbo.IsActive = '1' will return only the active committees.
In Crystal reports, if I place the IsActive field on the report, it returns with "True" or "False."
When I create a parameter for this field, I find that 1) I can't see the parameter in the report expert -- my only choices are Is any value, Is true, Is false or Formula.
I've made several attempts to create a formula and nothing is working. It's not clear to me wheter I should be creating a static or a dynamic parameter. When I choose boolean as the type, that doesn't seem to help. I tried a dynamic parameter which gave me true and false values, but don't seem to work.
Any pointers on dealing with this kind of parameter query would be greatly appreciated.

Create a static parameter and give the default values like
0 and 1
In Record Selection check like..dbo.IsActive = {?parameter}
If the above is not working for you, then create a formula
like..
If dbo.IsActive = '1' then
"Active"
Else "In Active"
Place this formula on your report and create a static parameter with default values Active and In Active.
In record selection filter the above.

[Help plz]Can't set a boolean attribute to true or false

I'm new in NWDS development. I need to develop a download functionality
I used a FileDownload UIElement for that and I created a node context (ExcelExport) with 3 attributes :
- ExcelFile
- ExcelIcon
- And ExcelEnabled (Boolean type)
My problem is that everytime I try to set the attribute ExcelEnabled to true or false, it return me a java.lang.NullPointerException
I'm binding this attribute with "Enabled" property of the UIElement.
Have anyone got this error before? Thanks a lot for your help.

Some things to try first:
1. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
2. Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

4. Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.
