Trusted RFC User : Current User or Fixed?
Hello All,
We will be implementing Service Desk and Charm.
My question is that while creating the Trusted RFCs initially, which user-id option we should give?
Should it be the Current User? Or a fixed Dialog User-id which exists?
Why I am asking is that I am not quite sure in which all cases this Trusted RFC is used. If it is used in critical operations we should not give a fixed user-id which has plenty of access. It should be Current User.
IF it is a fixed User-Id - what all authorizations it should have in SolMan and in the Satellite Systems?
Thanks!
Hi,
THe user you need can be a current user, however this user needs to be setup in both systems; for a better sypnosis on the setup scenario for trusting RFCs please kindly refer to this note
128447 Trusted/trusting systems
more information are also available in
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/22/042671488911d189490000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Also please remember to regenerate the RFC in SMSY, but before that, you have to
DELETE the following in BOTH solman and satellite system
- the relevant RFCs
- the relevant users created by SMSY when generating the RFCs
- the respective SID in both txn SMT1 and SMT2 (In Solman, you have to
delete the satellite's SID. In satellite system, vice versa)
After you have deleted both, please regenerate the RFCs in SMSY and it
should recreate everything for you again that you have deleted. Please
note that the user you use to generate the RFCs have to exist in both
systems, also the authorization object S_RFCACL have to be included in
user for BOTH system (which is not included in SAP_ALL, SAP_NEW).
Hope this helps.
Cheers

BPMON Alerts Detail Info - how to switch to use TRUSTED RFC ?
Hello Experts,
we have configured BPMON for our customer and it works fine, alerts are flowing in.
Now the users start using it and they complain about having a logon prompt popup every time the hit "Detail info" button to jump into satellite system to see alert details. It's very annoying when they need to check many alerts simultaneously.
So I investigated and found that the function is using LOGIN type RFC for the logon and it seems that SAP designed it to work this way, as SAP's own DEMO shows same thing.
Question: Is there a legitimate way to make BPMON function use TRUSTED RFC to show alert details instead of LOGIN RFC ?
By "legitimate" I mean, I know the LOGIN RFC can be "adjusted" to behave like TRUSTED, but that is not "legal" fix especially in production.
Appreciate any comments.
Thanks
ElenaHi Elena
I assume you are using Login RFC in SolMan setup.
If you switch current RFC to Trusted RFC, if the user has Trusted RFC profile and same user exist in both system, user can use trusted connection.
Please go to transaction SolMan setup, and side bar menu managed system configuration and open managed config screen to target system. In the 3 rd step of the wizard, there is a place to configure RFC.
In case if BPMon, Read RFC is used for data collection(as of SAP TMW is used instead of READ).
And then there are 3 RFC TMW, Trusted and last one(RFC for Solution manager).
When you press the detail info button, last RFC is used. To this RFC type, you can assign RFC Login( this will ask login screen by default) or Trused RFC. I think you assin RFC login right now. That's why you have popup.
If you switch this to Trused one, Trused RFC is used.

Minimum Trusted RFC's for productive system
Hi!
We have very strict requirements dealing with set up of Trusted RFC for productive system for ChaRM approach in SOLMAN.
Can some one tell me which Trusted RFC's and users for the productive system do I need?
a) Trusted RFC is not mandatory for the productive system
b) Trusted RFC only in productive system, client: 000, users: 1 communication user and 1Dialog user
c) Trusted RFC in productive system for each client with users...
Thank you very much!
H. ThomassonCreate the function modules in SE37 and set the remote-enabled flag in the attributes section. Then import them into XI.
Create a custom Z table through SE11 on each system to store any data, and the code in each function module would reference it. (Either that or just hard-code everything)
In short yes it can be done through SE37, no you don't need SE38.
I think you're talking about function groups which is a container for the function module. You can do everything through SE37 if you use the Goto->Function Groups-> Create Group option and give it the same name as your Function Module. -
Trusted RFC not working for different user , working for same user
Dear All,
I have two SAP system - One Solman (7.0) and another ECC 6.0 (SR3) on HPUX box with Oracle DB (Unicode).
I want to establish Trust relationship between these system.
I have configured the same, as per the following link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/8b/0010519daef443ab06d38d7ade26f4/content.htm
and note 128447.
My requirement is one user X in solman client 001,
will execute some test plan (Tcode stwb_2) which will take the control to ECC 6.0 client 200, execute the tcode as user Y and come back in Solman again.
The user X (SAP_ALL) exists in Solman - client 001 and user Y (SAP_ALL) exists in ECC 6.0 - client 200.
In ECC 6.0 client 200, I have created a role ZRFCACL with the following and assigned to the user Y (as per the above help / note):
Role : ZRFCACL
Auth. Obj: S_RFCACL
Value assigned to fields are:
RFC_SYSID : SOL
RFC_CLIENT: 001
RFC_USER : X
RFC_EQUSER: N
RFC_TCODE : *
RFC_INFO : *
ACTVT : 16
Whenever the user X is trying to execute the test from solman, he is getting the error : "No authorization to log on as trusted system (RC = 0)"
Each time the user is trying the above, in ECC 6.0, the following dump is occuring:
CALL_FUNCTION_SINGLE_LOGIN_REJ under username SAPSYS
I have assigned the role ZRFCACL to user X in Solman also.
Next, I have performed the following check:
created one user M in both system
created the role ZRFCACL2 in ECC 6.0 client 200 as follows and assigned the role to user M:
Role : ZRFCACL2
Auth. Obj: S_RFCACL
Value assigned to fields are:
RFC_SYSID : SOL
RFC_CLIENT: 001
RFC_USER : ''
RFC_EQUSER: Y
RFC_TCODE : *
RFC_INFO : *
ACTVT : 16
Assigned SAP_ALL to user M in both system (So the user M in Solman does not have ZRFCACL2).
This time, the trust relationship worked and no dump got generated.
I have also checked the thread Trusted RFC do not work
but unable to resolve the issue.
Any suggestion where the things are going wrong in this / what else I need to check or this is not possible at all?
Thanks in advance for your help.
SudipHi Valdecir,
Thanks for the reply. I am providing the detail of the generated dump below:
Please check in case any clue is there.

Current user overruled in integration server
Hi,
I have a proxy-PI-IDOC interface. The connectivity between SAP PI and the backend system where the IDOC will be sent to is established via a trusted RFC connection where 'current user' is marked. In most of the times the interface is working but in several times I got the error in SM58 'You are not authorized to logon to the system..'. The problem however is that for this action the wrong user is used (an user that indeed is not authorized). It looks that in the connection from the PI system to the backed system the current user is lost and overruled by an user of a former message which has nothing to do with this interface but runs at the same time.
Has anyone faced the same problem and are there any solutions for this.
kind regards

Hi Everyone,
I am having some issues accessing the methods in the datasource.cfc in the adminAPI.
I can successfully load the administrator CFC and am told that I have successsfuly logged in;
But when I try to subsequently load the datasource.cfc I get an error that the current user is unable to access the method.
/* Create an Admin API object and call the login method */
var local = {};
Obj = createObject("component", "cfide.adminapi.administrator");
/* Enter your password for the CF Admin */
/* if you dump this - TRUE is returned */
Obj.login(adminPassword="my_admin_user_password");
/* Create an object of datasource component */
Obj = createObject("component", "cfide.adminapi.datasource");
writeDump(local.dsnObj.getDataSources());
I tried creating separate admin users and passwords - yhinking that perhaps a revent hotfix had stopped the "admin" user from being allowed to use the adminAPI - but changing to a new adminuser yielded the same results.
I could login to the admin API with the new username and passsword - but could not access the datasource.cfc after that.
Here is the debug output from the error...
The current user is not authorized to invoke this method.

and I agree I don't have "E" drive either!I've found a solution to my plight - I don't know if it'll work for you or help you try something that MAY fix it.
I use a common code set which includes the Application.cfc from a CF Mapping - So, in the application.cfc in the actual website I do this:-
<cfinclude template="/UberDirectory/Application.cfc">
Then, in the /UberDirectory/Application.cfc, I was initialising a CFC which checks if the datasource was created for the website. The datasource checking code attempts to log into the Admin API and check & create if necessary the datasource.
This has previously worked without fail for me - But in this instance it failed!! I was doing two things wrong - Firstly, the CFC should only be called in the Application.cfc in the onRequestStart section as the Application had to be initialised first - This is maybe because I've invoked the application.cfc in a "non-standard" manner.
Secondly, once I'd moved the CFC invocation into oNRequestStart I saw the following error:-
The string COOKIE.CFAUTHORIZATION_uber-directory is not a valid ColdFusion variable name.
I had this as the app name .... <cfset this.name = 'uber-directory'>
Changedthe dash to an underscore and I was away and could once again check the datasources
Hope it helps

Filter Project Server custom field based on current user?
I've got a Project Server 2013 custom field, and I'd like to create a view that only shows me projects where the value in that custom field equals the current user. Simply put: I'm trying to find functionality similar to the [Me] filter in SharePoint.
Apparently, simply using [Me] doesn't work. How can I fix this?I am trying to do something similar. were you able to find a solution to this? I am assuming no.

RFC login and user creation to remote system
Hi there,
Hopefully this is the related forum for this question. We have a scenario where we need an automated process to create users on one system and then create just the same account on a remote system with deactivated password.
How is this best handled in ABAP code where the system account info/password of the remote system is not listed in the abap code. Should a SM59 connection be created and then somehow this is referenced from abap code ?
Also, this will be a SM37 job stream running on the local server under one name running the job and in the code it should be using a different name (destination) for the remote connection to create the user.
I am a security person, not abaper. Input /best practice appreciated.
Thanks !> I am a security person, not abaper. Input /best practice appreciated.
Actually this is a security question, so I have moved it to the security forum...
If the password is to be deactivated in the target system but not in the source ("master" system) then you can use several standard user provisioning mechanisms for this (CUA, GRC-CUP, IdM, UME configuration...) and configure the target system to deactivate the password itself. There are also several ways of achieving this, without any coding required necessarily.
The most obvious one which jumps to mind is RZ11 parameter login/password_change_for_SSO.
Alternately if your scenario is better suited to it, you can also use login/password_max_idle_initial.
Also see transaction RSUSR200.
Etc...
> Should a SM59 connection be created and then somehow this is referenced from abap code ?
No. It should be referenced from configuration of the application which calls the RFC connection, defined in SM59. You can also optionally use the "current user" setting and alternate authentication methods to (saved) passwords. This I would generally recommend.
Cheers,
Julius

How to get the current user logon to portal?
Hi Gurus,
How to get the current user who logged into portal.
I have a webdynpro requirement where in which I have to get the current user id who loggedinto portal which will be the input parameter of the BAPI(adaptive RFC model) which will return me employee number of the particular user.
Can anyone send me the code to retrive the user id through webdynpro application..........
Pts will be rewarded for useful inputs......
Thanks in Advance,
DharaniHi Dharani,
Using UMEfactory u can do that...
1. create one input field,
2. create one attribute called Uid
3. assign Uid attribute to the input field
4. type the following code in Doinit() method
String uid = wdContext.currentContextElement().getUid();
try {
IUser user = UMFactory.getUserFactory().
getUserByLogonID(uid);
String userName = user.getDisplayName();
} catch (UMException ex) {
e.toString();
5. after that go to Portal create one iview assign to particular user. then u get into the user details...
thats it

Microsoft Word Has Not Been Installed for the Current User
Hi, everybody
I'm just starting our attempt to put together ZfD app packages for MS Office 2007. I've tried 2 different route with poor results for each. I'm looking for guidance and suggestions and, hey really, the simple final solution. :)
Objectives: Each app package will install locally one of the Office apps (e.g., Word) if it is not installed and then launch it, otherwise it will launch it. It gets installed locally to the C: drive using all the MS default choices, but runs from the desktop ZEN/NAL shortcut. All desktops are XP, not Vista or W7.
Routes tried and failed...
1) Simple app, uses distribution and run scripts to figure out if already installed, then installs using network shared drive and config.xml file for just the one app. The result ought to work -- no particular error in the package, those are fixed -- but what happens is something different each time with the MS setup.exe, and it never does complete without its own error (various and different each time). So, this appears to be completely unreliable because launching MS's setup.exe from a simple app is unpredictable and incomplete.
2) Snapshot of a successful setup.exe and config.xml install. This ALMOST works... well it does in fact work but the snapshotted app gives an error once it finishes launching -- "Microsoft Word Has Not Been Installed for the Current User" -- and exits. From the research I've done on this message, the MS program sees the "wrong" Windows profile on the destination environment, compared to that in the snapshot, and figures it's now been installed from a bootleg copy of Office 2007.
At this stage all I can think of is expletives. We've paid for everything, I've followed all the usual and customary steps, played by the rules, been polite (and also used the necessary computer swear words), and now I just want to insult everyone in Microsoft's marketing department for ruining everyone's life yet again. Can't we just do this, is it too much to ask!?!
Please help me. What is really going to work for distributing and maintaining Office 2007 apps using our ZfD environment? ALL USEFUL SUGGESTIONS WELCOME. Thank you. Bless you.
-Kent S.
Be strong as a ship and wise as a whaleThese questions are really best in the Microsoft Office Forums.
These are MS Office Questions not ZEN Questions.
Novell did not design Microsoft's Office Install.
I have nothing against snapshots, but it does not work great with the Office
installs, which you yourself know since you are posting here with problems
based on that.
And your other method you are trying with the break out is not working well.
We also know that from experience.
We can tell you that the way most people install it and the way most people
succeed doing it, is by doing it the way recommended and designed by
Microsoft.
ZEN does that just fine.

The current user username has not been granted the ADVISOR privilege despite having it !
Hi,
I'm trying to follow ML note 2499931.1 'Using Dbms_Advisor.Tune_Mview To Optimize Materialized Views For Fast Refresh' and am receiving an error suggesting the user4 does Not have the Advisor privilege
despite the fact that it does. What am I missing ?
Every note I've found so far suggests granting the privilege is the fix.
I have and continue to receive the error.

KenSorry, but the code I was receiving the error message for is essentially the same as the example in the note. Assumed people would have access to the note.
The statement is:
variable foo varchar2(20);
declare foo varchar2(20) := 'ken_foo';
begin
dbms_advisor.tune_mview(:foo,
'create materialized view ken_foo
as
select
papf.rowid R_papf,

--and trunc(sysdate) between paaf.effective_start_date and paaf.effective_end_date
and paaf.default_code_comb_id = gcc.code_combination_id');
end;
Per another forum the answer appears to be that sys didn’t have the advisor privilege.
Granted advisor to sys and ran the statement again as soauser and no error.
Thanks

User ID & log in fix... to preserve or not preserve during the fix?
OK I have the same problem as most everyone else here but am not sure which preference to choose during the archive and install fix suggested by most everyone. So which option should I choose before I embark on this crazy bug fixing adventure.
Details: I upgraded to Leopard... Lost one of my four user log ins (the one with 8 or more characters in the password. Still have admin access via another user account (lucky me) but I want to get my other user log in back so the Re-install with Archive & install options seems to be working for most folks but am getting conflicting advice about weather to choose the "preserve option" or not
_*Do I choose the preserve user & network settings or not??????*_
For folks who have not scoured the 100s of other posts here is what I have gathered
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120 article
and
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=306840
and
I installed Leopard yesterday and had this problem - only said "Other..." and I could not sign on. None of the "gobbledygook" methods helped - a bit scary anyway. This morning I spoke to the local Apple supplier, who suggested to re-run the install, but click on "Options" and select "Archive & Install" - the default is just "install", which is what I ran.
At the end of the "Archive and Install" the user names were back, and everything seems normal.
I had the "Other" problem as well. Re-installing and selecting "archive & Install" in the "options" fixed it for me! Brought back all five users and their passwords (including the ones I had changed trying to fix this problem using the DVD install "utilities" and the "password reset" section.
Thanks.
I actually found that when I selected the drive to install to I did not double-click it to give me install options of keeping previous logins, once I reinstalled with this option, everything worked fine
einstall with archive method under options.
You have to reboot first with teh disc in the drive. Hold C the whole time.
and this posting which is the only one that mentions doing it without preserving
If you boot back up to the install disk, go to the Utilities menu then Password reset program. Select your hard drive and the drop down list for user accounts is empty, you could do the follwing to resolve the issue without looseing your personal files. Might take awhile though.

When this is done you'll be guided through to make a new user account
Once in the new user account you go to /Previous Systems/<date and time of the A&I>/Users/<your home folder> and get all your files backI had one account vanish in this way. This is what I did. In this case the missing account had a user name of bradleyross.
I logged in using an existing administrative account. You don't want to use the account that you create until after all of the files have been moved and had ownership updated.
1. Create a new account with a short user name of bradley.
2. Go into the terminal window and set the current directory to /Users/bradley
3. Delete everything in the bradley home directory
sudo rm -R /Users/bradley/*
4. Move everything in /Users/bradleyross to /Users/bradley
sudo mv /Users/bradleyross/* /Users/bradley
5. Change ownership to all of the files in /Users/bradley so that the owner is bradley
sudo chown -R bradley /Users/bradley/*
6. I was then able to log in to the bradley account and had all the files and settings from the bradleyross account.
7. I had to change a few shell scripts so that they contained /Users/bradley instead of /Users/bradleyross. I don't think that this will be a problem unless you have edited some UNIX shell scripts yourself.
Make a copy of everything in /Users/bradley and /Users/bradleyross before you start
I'm typing this in on a workstation at the Apple store at Christiana Mall in Delaware and typing this in from memory. I don't think I made any typos above, but look before you run. -
Jump through query - It uses ALEREMOTE user instead of current user
Hi,
When I do the query in BW using TCODE-rsbbs, select source system, i can jump using query through Bex to ECC system the issue is:
--It logon using the ALEREMOTE user is there any way to make it to use the current logon user?
Thanks in advanceSuman\Madhavi
Thanks for your suggestions.
I am using a user with SAP_ALL but still same issue, it is taking the user specified in RFC connection instead of using the current user.
I created a new logical system and RFC connection with option use 'current user' and tried to create a new source system so that I can use it for RRI jumps but it failed with error: name <logical systemname> of client <client#> is not same as the name <new logical system name> of the warehouse.
Please let me know if have any suggestions.

How to list all tables that belongs to the current user?
hi all
"select tblowner,tblname from tables where tblowner in (select user from dual);"
I want a list of all tables that belongs to the current user. I use the SQL above, but given "no rows selectd",but if
I replace the subquery with literal,like
"select tblowner,tblname from tables where tblowner = 'JFMDB');".
I got the list. why?
Thnk u very much!This looks like a bug that was fixed in 7.0.5.13 and onwards. I can reproduce what you are seeing in 7.0.5.10.0 (Linux x86-64 / Access control enabled instance from root install) but not 7.0.5.13.0 (Linux x86-64 / Access control enabled instance from root install).
Unfortunately I don't have a bug number to pass on. I can't see anything relevant listed in the Release Notes and I haven't found a likely candidate in our internal listings. This may well have been one that was fixed "in passing" when RnD were working on something similar.
