Trying to cancel extras before the increase why is...

Well I suspect like a lot people trying to lower my bill, was told if I recontracted my phone in December i would avoid the charges for Caller Display. I also phoned to cancel my all time calls, friends and family mobile, 1571 and vision.
I did phone a week ago and noticed on my online billing pages that it says I only have weekend calls and the call charges to date showed £0.00, now i know I've made calls that would be chargeable and on phoning up today I was told that the changes weren't made because there was a problem I asked what the problem was and was told that the previous customer service agent hadnt cancelled anything, GREAT!  So i went through again what I wanted cancelled and was told that I couldnt cancel 1571 and would be put on weekend calls only i would have to wait 24hours then upgrade to weekend and evening calls and then I can cancel 1571 and as for the vision the first time i was told that BT wanted £33+ for cancelling and he had gone away and come back and told me that I didnt have to pay presumably as I had pointed out that I had not recontracted my vision when I moved house and that in october I had been told to phone after the 26th November to cancel as that was when my contract ran out which confirmed what i already thought it was. When i phoned today was told that I would have to pay £33+ otherwise it couldnt be cancelled again I pointed out that my contract expired November 26th she went away and came back and said that I still had to pay it too cancel it and take it up with billing.
WHERE HAS THE DAYS GONE WHEN YOU CALLED CHANGE YOUR SERVICES WITHOUT ANY HASSLE IN ONE PHONE CALL!!!
I'm paying for vision that I dont use and have been payong for some months
I'm not holding my breath that what i want done has been done but will find out in the next few days when i try to upgrade to evenings and weekends, I think it may be time to leave BT after more than 40 years.
i'm on benefits and cant afford all these things now i live on my own but BT dont care that i'm struggling to pay my bills

    I'm not convinced that starting it before it was downloaded has anything to do with it, you should be able to do that. I'd try restarting the computer and if that doesn't help, select the content which is causing a problem and use the 'Report a problem' button in Your Purchase History.

  • Trying to find answers for the question "Why is this file type blocked from being uploaded into SharePoint"

    At least once a month - sometimes much more frequently - I get calls from users asking why the file extension they "need" to upload to SharePoint is blocked.
    Most recently, it was a Microsoft Access database that the user was attempting to upload to a document library. Before that, it was a shortcut link (*.url). And so on.
    Is there a reference document which goes over the reasons why specific file types are blocked?

    Each blocked file format has it's own reasons for not being allowed to be stored on a SharePoint library.
    Some of them are blocked because they would be processed by SharePoint Servers during the upload/download sequences, thus, possibly corrupting the system ( like dll files ). Others would cause Crawl to break ( url files ).
    The Access database files are blocked for two valid reasons. First, because saving "live" to those files using Windows explorer window ( WebDAV ) doesn't work. Second because SharePoint product managers want us to use SharePoint lists instead.
    And it does makes sense.
    If you're in the middle of a migration from file servers to a SharePoint solution, your people could use these situations to stop and think about it for a little:

    I have an update available from the appstore to upgrade from my OS X Lion 10.7.5 to OS X Mavericks, but every time i click on the free upgrade button i get a message on the side of it that says an error has occured. Yet it does say what type of error. And i see it in the launch pad and it says "waiting". How do i fix this?
    I have a iMac from mid 2011 with 4bg of mem, 2.7 GHZ intel core processor i5, and graphics AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512MB.
    Can someone help me out here?

    Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
    ☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

    Did you do a secure empty trash? SHIFT COMMAND DELETE, they will be over wriiten. Are you deleting docs as they aren't much space, videos,pictures,music use much more space.
    You can move those fiels to an external "archive" drive to save them then delete them from your internal drive.

    So I've fixed the activation error, but when trying to get an ebook from the sample site I'm now getting "LICENSE_SIGN_ERROR." And I'm still getting the license error (CANNOT_OPEN) when trying to download library books, no matter how many times I de/reauthorize ADE, restart the computer and the program, and try to dl the book from the library website.
    Thanks for any additional advice!
    Edit, a few days later - still experiencing the problem, no matter how many times I try to download the library book I get the same error. Any ideas? Thanks @shreya

    Hi Jo Jo,
    I am not sure if i understand your problem correctly.
    As far as my understanding goes you are trying to reverse a GI on a date before Actual goods issue date.
    If you have PGId on a date before planned GI date the system will update that date into Actual GI date and not planned GI Date.
    For example if you planned GI date was 1st April 2008 and you did PGI on 28th April 2008 Actual GI date will become 28th April 2008.
    So if you try to reverse PGI before 28th April you wont be allowed to as you cannot reverse a goods issue that has not happened.

I have been a loyal Verizon wireless customer for a long while, but have had such a bad experience in the past year (where I have paid bills as high as $700.00) that I decided to cancel my services and move to another network. My billing cycle runs from 14th of the month to 14th of next month, typically. I have autopay set up to pay my bills and it deducts money for the following month on or around 6th of that month.
    I ported out my verizon number to a service on 4th of this month and since my verizon account got immediately closed, I called up verizon to find out about the ETF and final bill. I was surprised to find that I had to not only pay ETF but also pay the bills for the next month (which I am not using as I canceled before the Feb 14th!). Is this common practice? I feel so cheated. I feel its a sneaky move to squeeze that extra amount of money from me!

    I'm sure you stuck with Verizon because they were giving the best service for a reasonable price. That's not loyalty. That's just being a smart consumer. Being loyal would be sticking with Verizon when other carriers where offering equal or superior service for less money. And in that case that may be being loyal but it's also kind of stupid.
    As far as your bill my new bill is generated about 4-5 days after the end of my billing period. So if your billing period ended on the 14th the new bill would be generated on the 18th. Verizon bills in advance so your bill that got generated on the 18th of January would be from January 15th to February 14th. Which would be due around Feb 6th. So you were billed correctly.

    You're trying to update an application that's running, perhaps in another account. Make sure you quit all apps that are to be updated. If another user is logged in under Fast User Switching or Screen Sharing, he or she must do the same.
