Trying to create effect

I have some video of hidden interrogation video from law enforcement. I have the shot in the timeline, and I have 2 duplicates of the video on top of the original shot.
I cropped out the face and blurred it for one layer, and I did the same with the time/date with the other layer. So I have 3 layers of the shot on top of each other with the face and timestamp blurred.
In the script, they talk about the behavior of the subject. I want to drop the opacity of the video and highlight the hands of the subject (like a circle). Normally not a problem, but I keep running into problems because of the layers. If I drop the opacity, you can see her face. If I add a shape or matte, same thing.
How do I accomplish this look? I'd like the layers to fade while the hands remain in focus so the viewers eyes will be directed to the nonverbal behavior

Try nesting the layers into one layer, or export the three as a self contained movie, then do the effects you need to add after you cut this exported file back into the sequence.

There is no channels palette in Elements.
You can select channels in the levels command. There is generally a way to do what you want in Elements; can you give more details about what you want to achieve?

Trying to create Mouse over effect with more than one show image appearing in same cell

If you roll your cursor over the top left logo (the D&S) one it displays an image to the left. If you roll your cursor onto the next logo (Netnotts) it fades away again. Great. Exactly what I wanted and created in CSS (well done me as I don't normally do much with CSS but the new CS4 has very forced it).
What I am trying to create is: When you roll onto the Netnotts logo, not only does the original image to the left disappear but a new relative one appears, this is to be for all the logos. In CSS I can only create it as far as I can. I have thought about using AP DIV tags to do it which would obviously work but to keep it in the right place, I would then have to align my whole website to the left instead of centered like it is and to be fair, that's not particularly pleasing to the eye as this is my own portfolio of work.
I can do flash to make 'pretty things' but have no idea about actionscript and java is way over my head but I am sure with some help I would be able to get it together as the that particular effect, although done in CSS, is running javascript I noticed.

A relative positioned layer? does this mean it knows how far to be away from the table as a pose to an absolute positioned layer which is lay 15px from the left? I need to be able to keep the positioning as its key, cant have the layer popping up in different places pending on the users browser size.

It somewhat depends on what the effect is intended to acheive.
Here is a simple behavior script that can be applied to any bitmap. It wobbles, in the sense that it has a radom movement about its axis.
That is acheived with the random() statements. The amount of wobble can be controlled by changing the value added to each parameter on each iteration.
The last three statements keep the wobble from randomly walking off the frame. Again, wobble can be changed by setting the corrective value at which point the bitmap returns to its original state.

Trying to create an O with a twirl effect

I am pretty new to photoshop. I am trying to create an "O" like the one in the attachment and i can't for the life of me figure out how to create that. I tried everything, the twirl filter and everything but i can't even come close to getting that. Does anyone know or can show me please how to make that?

It's not as straight forward as you might think. Crevitz is right about the Distort > Twirl filter, but you need to start with something like this
The apply Filter > Distort > Twirl two or three times, and finally grab the center portion with the Elliptical Marquee tool

That was from a project I did a few months ago. Sounds similar to what you want. I did that in After Effects.
Basically all I did was add a glow effect to the text and messed around with the glow parameters. The black smoke is animated and moves on the actual video and is basically some pre keyed smoke footage that I had. The smoke was originally gray but black looked cooler.
I'd say it's pretty close to your hot branding iron thing.

Commits should be issued by end user/client software on completion of a transaction. This means <tt>commit;</tt> should almost never appear in PL/SQL code. Deleting the account on your phone only removes if from your phone. The account and it's data remain intact and doing so will not effect your daughter's phone.
To do this, first go to Settings>iCloud on your phone and turn any synced data (contacts, calendars, etc.) to Off, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the phone. When finished, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account. Then set up a new iCloud account with a different Apple ID and turn any data you want to sync with iCloud (contact, calendars, etc.) back to On. This will upload your data to your new iCloud account.

I think this is essentially saying that the Supervisor Assignment is wrong or no longer effective. Looking at your SQL to fetch the Supervisor Assignment there are a number of potential issues. This is what you've currently got:

Potential Problems/Clarifications
1. What is r.supervisor_number, what does it contain and how is it derived? I can't see that anywhere else in the block...
2. Is there a chance that r.supervisor_number is referencing an employee who has left, ie, now an ex-employee?
3. The SELECT statement that fetches the assignment_id does not perform any date-effective restrictions, which means you might be lucky enough to fetch the person's current assignment. But you might also fetch an old or future-dated assignment.
4. The SELECT statement that fetches the assignment_id does not restrict the type of assignment, so if this manager has applied for a job (ie, they have an applicant assignment) or some other type of non-employee assignment you might be picking that up.
This would work better for you:

If it doesn't return a row it means that the supervisor (or whatever employee is returned by r.supervisor_number) is not active as at sysdate and cannot be used. Note that this SQL only applies for employees. If you can have Contingent Workers as supervisors in your implementation then this needs tweaking.

How to create effect in illustrator

I am trying to create this image on illustrator, if someone can tell me how, what i tired to do was create a grid, using the rounded rectangle tool, making them about 30 px by 30 px with about 5 px space between them, then use the 3d rotate tool, and get something close, but on the picture the gap seems to curve a little, and with the gird i get strait lines, how would i get that slight curve effect, if someone can send me a link that can walk you though would be great.

If you're careful and manipulate the Bloat tool settings properly you can create some bit of that curvature to
the grid, if your grid is created with the level of detail as in your sketch.

Using setTImeout to create effect of dealing cards

As my code stands right now, I can deal cards to the proper
location and move at a steady speed, but they all move at the same
time. Now, I want to add the effect of them being dealt by using
the setTimeout method to offset the times they are dealt. However,
when I call the setTimeout method, it only works on the last card
and jumps the card to its destination instead of slowly moving it
there as if it were dealt. Figure A shows my working code without
the setTimeout method, and Figure B shows my code with the
setTimeout method.
I have a hunch that it is not working either because it
overwrites the myTimeout variable that holds the setTimeout id, or
because of the this (i may need to create an empty movie clip on
the root timeline to hold the value of setTimeout) in the
setTimeout line, but I do not know why it removes my tween effect.
My motion code can be seen in FIGURE C.

By the way, these function are members of my TexHoldem class.
I've read a bunch of posts about how to use the setTimeout
function, but I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly inside of a
class.
In my latest attempt, I tried creating a controller that
would hold the instances of the timeouts incase they were
overwriting themselves on the timeline, but I get the same results.

I've also tried to create an array which would store the
intervals so they would not be destroyed, but still no luck.

Messagw while trying to create Business partner (BP) object for Recruiter

Hi,
We have upgraded E-Recruitment from EHp2 to EHP4.
When I tried to access Recruiter dash board through recruiter ID, I got error "You are not authorized to see this". After checking it is found that business partner object is not created for Recruiter ID. So tried to create through program RCF_Create_user. But while running this report, I am getting message like "candidate number is already exist" and I am not able to proced further. I checked relationship A650, also table HRP5102 for candidate details for this Recruiter personeel number. But no where it is available.
Could anybody please tell how to proceed on this? Where to see candidate details for an employee? How to delete candidate details if exists so that I can create business partner object again via program RCF_create_user.

as you started from an authorization error message, have you tried to assign SAP_ALL to the user and check if the application was working? Did you regenerated SAP_ALL after the upgrade as otherwise the authorization for the new application might still be missing.
I first thought the BP relation was missing after your upgrade but in your 2nd post you said you deleted CP-BP relation among others. Was this a typo or was the relation existing but the business partner missing. This would be very suprising as it is not that easy to get rid of one.
It is very strange if RCF_CREATE_USER is still not working after deleting all relations. If you only deleted one relation from CP it might be necessary to delete the other direction for all objects being internal. BUT be aware! Changing HRP1001 data this way will lead to inconsistencies in the system.
The only additional thing which comes to my mind is the integrated installation. Here the user for the candidate is not read from HRP1001 but directly from the PA infotype 0105. So there might be another candidate joined to the user this way if you use an integrated landscape.
But before you start changing hrp1001 by hand please always get the CP id for the candidate, go to SE80, open class cl_hrrcf_candidate and test the get method. (you need the cp id as you have to enter the first id on the method test screen, the others won't work due to the usage of "is supplied" in the method combined with the methgod tester). In the result check if there is really no BP Id resolved.
If the relation or the bp object really got lost during the upgrade, I'd check if this is a single case or more candidates were effected. If so I'd in every case get in contact w/ sap suppport.

Trying to Create a Cover Page

I am using the Lesson Plan template as provided by Pages '09. I am really trying to like iWork but I often find the simple things are difficult to figure out.
I'm just trying to create a cover page for the lesson plan. There is no Section in the template for cover page so I placed my cursor at the first line of the document, inserted a page break and then tried to format the page.
First thing I did was check on "different front page" from Inspector. But, when I turn off the header and footer for the front page, it turns it off for the whole document.
So I figured I would insert a new section and try to work with it. But, when I insert a section, it puts the new section at the bottom of the document.
What gives here?

Header and/or Footer use is global but their content is local to each section. You either turn them on or leave them off. If on, you can use them or not as you choose on a section-by-section basis.

Not a problem. Just turn on the "Pages Thumbnail" option if not already on. Then simply grab the newly inserted section/page and drag it to the top of your other section.
Also, when I try to set the page number to start on the 2nd page and start at 1, not 2, it simply does not work. I set it in Inspector to start at 1 but it has no effect.
Not sure I understand the problem here. Page re-numbering is local to the section. If your cover page is in a separate section and you did not insert a page numbering option, then no page number is displayed. If your physical page two is the first page of your main document body and if you turn on the "Page One is Different" and have a page numbering option inserted into the header or footer, then physical page two also shows no page number. However, if page numbering is inserted into a header or footer and your "Page One is Different" setting is turned off, then a page number will be displayed on physical page two. The actual number displayed on physical page two will depend on the "Start at" number you insert in the section numbering Inspector option. (E.g., if starting with 1, then page "1" will appear on physical page two, page "2" will appear on physical page three, etc. if the section "Page One is Different" option is turned off. If turned on, then no page number will appear on physical page two but page "2" will still appear on physical page three, etc.) However, since you cannot start number with a zero or negative number, you cannot have physical page three (i.e., the second page of a section) start off displaying "1" as a page number. If this is what you want to do, then you must insert another "Section Break" on the first page of your current "second section" so you can reset the number of the second page of the former "second section" (now the beginning of a new third section) to "1" and allow that number to be displayed in your header or footer.

Problem trying to create graphic style...

I'm trying to create a nave menu and in doing so, create a single graphic style that can achieve my end goal. I can get what I want by using a seperate shape, but that defeats the purpose of the single graphic style. I thought I could achieve the look using an effect under
Effect>Pathfinder
But that doesn't get the result I expected. Below you can see both what the graphic style currently looks like, and what I want to add to it (the gloss) hopefully within the same graphic style. Is this possible?
