Trying to figure out how to find this error?
Hi,
I have a project that keeps throwing this error, but I can't see, to figure out how to find it:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of a null object reference.
It's a very large project. How can I search for this?

ok, so it showed me a few things... THANKS, but none of which were exactly a problem:

so the top one is just a part of a button
downloadButton.buttonMode = true;
which is fine.
then, the other one points to a part of a function that I've used in a dozen other places and it works fine:
MovieClip(this.root).gotoAndPlay(23);
something I did find-and I still can't figure out why-is that download button was causing issues. I have NO idea why since it's an exact duplicate from another file.
but this is cool to have this information-thanks!

I recently had to have my computer hard drive "cleaned." While this was going on, I broke my SG3, and now own an SG4.
I also changed servers for the internet. When I tried to plug in my SG4, after not being on iTunes for some time, all my data was erased.
No every time I try and do ANYTHING, it asks for my PW.....which is ALWAYS WRONG.....though I've reset it over and over and over.
I want my data back (contacts, pics, etc.). But I can't even maneuver around iTunes any more.
How in the **** do I get someone from iTunes to give me assisstance for the myriad of problems for which I am encountering. This is a CLUSTERF.....
HELP!There is no such thing as an "SG3" or "SG4". Did you possibly mean a 3GS and iPhone4?
It has always been very basic to ensure that a backup exists of your media and other important files. Computers fail, hard drives crashes... things happen. Do you not have a backup? The iPhone, like all iDevices is NOT a backup of your media, but rather a mirror of the content in the iTunes library on your computer.
If your contacts, pics, etc are not on your computer, no backups of the iPhone exist, and they are not on the phone, they are gone.
No one can magically make them re-appear. -
Trying to figure out how to build this view...
I've been kicking around with this for a couple of hours and I can't seem to get a grasp on the whole viewcontroller system utilized by the SDK.
Basically, I have a tabviewcontroller with 4 tabs. Each tab loads a different NIB. This part is working ok...
The trouble comes in when I attempt to add a configure button on each tab view. The goal would be to load a configuration screen when the button is pressed, allowing the user to customize some information, and then return back to the tabbed view.
I've included a picture of what I'm trying to accomplish. Again, when the user pushed the button in the upper right, I would like a new NIB containing configuration options to load.
If anyone can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful.

Ok, the easiest way to do that will be to simply hang a Utility App template off of each tab. We'll probably only need to modify the template in some minor ways to use your choice of controls.
However I need to ask a couple more important questions. From your description it seems you might envision four screens that display the tab bar, each of which can be flipped to a config screen which +does not+ display the tab bar. Hiding the tab bar in those screens will be problematic. I'll try to explain this point:
The tab bar controller must be the root controller, and its bar wants to be visible in every child view. This is why the docs often refer to a "tab bar application", the tab bar isn't intended to be a visitor in only some of the screens. There are kludges to hide the tab bar but they aren't supported, and even when you get one working, it's subject to failure in the next OS version. There's one exception to this: A modal view is designed to cover the entire screen, including any tab bar. So if your config screens were modal views, they would always hide the tab bar. This means the transition would be a slide up from the bottom (a slide from the top is now also available in 3.0), instead of a flip.
Another alternative if the tab bar must be hidden in the config screens: You could use a tool bar instead of a tab bar. A tool bar is on a per-screen basis. Unlike the tab bar, if a tool bar appears in two or more views, it's a different tool bar each time. Of course making the tool bar controls appear and act like a tab bar is extra work since you'll be customizing the tool bar instead of using the code that's built into the tab bar controller.
Finally, a third alternative. I've never tried this one so it might have problems I don't know about, though I can already say it won't work well if you're supporting both portrait and landscape orientation: When transitioning to a config view, we could try swapping out the tab bar controller at the root. I.e. remove the tab bar controller's view from the key window and flip transition to a config view.
That sums up the best choices I can think of right now. Now that you know the issues involved, do you want the tab bar removed from the config screens? Also let me know if you want to support both portrait and landscape orientation. Orientation support will actually affect all of the alternatives, though I think the tool bar and modal view solutions, in that order, would be least likely to have orientation problems.

I have creative cloud, I have photoshop and lightroom current versions installed - I was using the trial period. I paid for the 9.99 a month and now I'm trying to figure out how to update this.
You need to uninstall the trial applications and reinstall from the CC app.

I am trying to figure out how to clear my massage backlog on Messages for Mavericks OS. I believe a lot of space is taken up by this running in the background keeping recent messages loaded. Especially with all the gif files I've been sending. Is there a way to select all and deleter? Please help! Can't find anyone who looks to do the same just lots of manuals for using the app on iphones and ipads.

I am trying to figure out how I can transfer my library to my new 2014 honda accord that has an internal 16gb hard drive. The manual for the car says that it needs to be original CD's but I have purchased alot of the albums/songs I have from I tunes therefore not having the original CD. Can someone help me with this as I dont want to load each CD into the player to record and have some albums that I purchased off of I tunes that I would like to be on the hard drive.

Hi - Re Keynote I'm trying to figure out how to create a music album (as an artist) on USB flash drive, (accessible by both Mac and PC). What I want is a background picture with 'click-buttons' to play each track listed, and play in order (like a cd) - also similar for embedded videos and photos etc. This should all be on the one page.
Is this possible with Keynote, or any other software package for Mac (am using Macbook Pro) ?

Been using Macs since before classic. Using MBP, OS 10.7.5. Trying to figure out how to print/save folder contents including what's not visible on screen (Name, Date Modified, Size Kind) in entire folder?
Screen shots are getting old hat.
Tried select all, copy, paste into pages, but it didn't display date modified, size & kind, and also included images of selected files, which is too large.

I did not read the rather long post. If you wish to reinstall OS X 10.4, use your software install DVD. Backup is essential. To minimize your risk, I would use an archive and install:

In that way, you will have a fresh copy of OS X and your current settings will be preserved.
Incidentally, I do not agree that the printer problem is best solved by reinstalling OS X. I have had HP printers for sometime and, on one occasion, had difficulty after an upgrade. HP technical support walked me through uninstalling all traces of the HP driver and then reinstalling.

From the US but in France these days trying to figure out how to get case
I have an iPhone 4, and I got the email about being eligible for the case. I am from the US, and I am now in France for a bit for work. I am trying to figure out how I could get my case shipped to me here instead of back home, since I will not be back there until December at the earliest. I downloaded the app and it will ship to my US address by default, and I am not interested in changing that because I want to still be part of the US zone.
If someone from Apple could help and tell me what to do it would be great. I could not find the right department that could have answered this question when I looked on the support page.

Most of my my target audience are not familiar with iTunes, so I am trying to figure out how to explain how to rate it. Is this the shortest way? “Open iTunes on your computer, click on iTunes Store and search for my podcast. You’ll see it at the top of the results. When you click on it, you’ll see “Write a Review” and will be able to submit your comments and ratings.” Right now they find my podcast because they are on my mailing list, not through iTunes. It would be easy if I could just say, "Go to iTunes.com" or "Go to my web site" - but there are sooooo many steps! Help! Thank you,

it will subscribe them directly to your feed in iTunes, but it does depend on their having iTunes installed (and in Windows set as the application to use with 'itpc'), otherwise they will get an error message, so it's a slightly double-edged weapon. You could them the link and say 'subscribe in iTunes' as an alternative to the iTunes Store page. -
Something was hidden in a download and now these double green underlined hyperlinks show up everywhere, and pop ups too whenever I click on ANYTHING. I can't figure out how to find it and get rid of it.
You installed the "DownLite" trojan, perhaps under a different name. Remove it as follows.
Malware is constantly changing to get around the defenses against it. The instructions in this comment are valid as of now, as far as I know. They won't necessarily be valid in the future. Anyone finding this comment a few days or more after it was posted should look for more recent discussions or start a new one.
Back up all data.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below on this page to select it:

You may be wondering why you didn't get a warning from Gatekeeper about installing software from an unknown developer, as you should have. The reason is that the DownLite developer has a codesigning certificate issued by Apple, which causes Gatekeeper to give the installer a pass. Apple could revoke the certificate, but as of this writing, has not done so, even though it's aware of the problem. This failure of oversight is inexcusable and has compromised the value of Gatekeeper and the Developer ID program. You can't rely on Gatekeeper alone to protect you from harmful software.
*If you don't see the contextual menu item, copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. In the Finder, select

I am trying to figure out how to merge my AD network account.
I am trying to figure out how to merge my AD network account with my Mac account. The main reason for this is wanting to log into my admin account on the Mac, and have it also log into my network account so I do not have to log into differing accounts depending on wether I am on the network or not. And I am going to be running VMware fusion with windows on top, so having one account would be essential to this.

I really need someone to help me. I have been trying to figure out how to select a PDF document to convert to a Word doc. When I go to select a PDF file, all that shows up is the WORD docs. does not show ANY of my PDF files... Please help me figure out what is going on? We have it set on auto renewal so I know its not that we haven't renewed this subscription, because we pay automatically.
