I use Djay for my Apple and I would like to use TC as an external hd to access from Djay, however when I look for my external T1 drive I cannot find it in iTunes so I can load onto Djay? Any help?
Initially, you asked if you can hardwire your MBA to the TC. The answer is yes, by using the optional USB Ethernet adapter that Apple provides. However, in order for your MBA to access the TC's internal or USB-attached HDD, it would need to establish a network connection to it. This would be true of any NAS device on an Ethernet network. Therein, lies the problem. Your MBA cannot connect to two networks simultaneously.
One option then, would be to have two separate iTunes Media folders; one on the MBA & the other on the TC. This way, you can download the music to your MBA when connected to the Internet at the AirPort lounge, and then use iTunes Consolidate Library feature to transfer the audio files to the TC's iTunes Media Folder location. A great program to help maintain multiple iTunes Librarys and/or Media Folders, that you may want to consider, is PowerTunes. -
I purchased a new Time Capsule (2TB - 2013), and I would like to use my old Time Capsule to extend the range of my wireless network. I can't get them to communicate. Any ideas?
You need to use the airport utility on a computer.
If you use v6 utility it is fairly easy and straight forward.
The trick is to place the old TC in the same room as the new one.
Do a full factory reset and then you can just go through the utility to extend wireless network.

If you have issues just ask.
Then you can place the old TC about half way between the new TC and the clients would want to connect.. the half way point is not distance but wireless signal levels.
You can pick that up by using the wireless diagnostics in a mac laptop and walking around to pick up the signals.
This is for extend wireless.. if you want roaming network it is entirely different. That means they are plugged together with ethernet.
Tell us if you mean roaming not wireless extend. -

I have a PCI-DIO-32HS and a SCB-68 connector block. I am trying to figure out if the card will receive the input coming from a thermocouple.

however, if you feel like not spending more money on a analog input board, and have hands for a little electronics, here what you can do:
1) use a 16bit D/A converter (eg DAC7744), connected to the card.
2) connect the output to a comparator (LM311), to compare with your own analog input. you might want to isolate the 2 inputs via INA105.
3) connect the output via a pull up resistor directly to pin 1 of your parallel port.
4) create a small Labview program for making a 16 (or 8 or 4) bit comparison process:
- create an analog value of 0V (via 16 bit digital card)
- check if response is true or false (higher or lower than your analog in) from the parallel port
- if true, send new analog value of -5V
....check again, 16 times.
you got your analog value. of course this is a relatively slow process, as you have to read the parallel before each time you send the new analog value. yet, it is going to be much faster than a NI-USB 6008 for example. i expect a rate around the KHz at least.

i have had e mails back over the last question i asked over my wifi problem.
the e mails i recieved had nothing to do with resolving this matter i am banging my head against a brick wall .

This folder was not one I created, but it appeared to be a part of the bookmark area. It save all recently saved book marks and was called "Recently Bookmarked". I used this feature last night and this morning when I went to use fire fox, it is gone.

I use a slightly different way than Alchroma.
Same
• One video on track 1 and the other on Video.track 2
• Resize to 25% and move one to the left and the other to the right
Diff
• I don't use the blade tool
• I use the Pen tool and change the transparency - then I get fast or slow transitions in same stroke and easy to fine-tune later if needed. (But this can be done with the Roll-tool if Blade is used - so it might be as easy)
Final
• Resize to 100% and Center
Video is done
Audio - very close to this by changing the level so that best audio will dominate
• Pen tool here too
But that's me - the Alchroma way is as good as this or may be better for some

Is there some trick for the check_condition function to accept all the other condition types as well or should i write those cases into my program? It seems pretty easy, but feels like reinventing the wheel...

-SamThere were two versions of the 74 GB Raptor - the older one with an 8MB cache, and the newer one with the 16MB cache. The 16MB cache version is basically the same as the 150GB Raptor with one less platter inside.
My understanding of the Raptor compatibility is this:
If you have a G5 Quad, all Raptors will work with no problems (I have a 150GB Raptor as my boot drive in my Quad and have had zero issues).
If you have one of the other dual-core models besides the Quad, the Raptors seem to be pretty reliable, but some users have reported problems. Adding a third-party SATA controller card solves the problems.
If you have a pre-dual core machine, the 8MB cache 74GB Raptor will work fine. The 16MB cache models need a separate controller card to avoid issues.
Do a search for "Raptor" in this forum and you'll find some quite lenghty threads on the subject. Macgurus.com forums also have some good information. In addition, I'd check XLR8YourMac's Drive Compatibility Database for info. The main thing to look for is reports on the 16MB cache version, which is what you linked to.
