Trying to get my Xbox to connect.

My xbox live connection doesnt work. Im trying to access my wireless internet but everytime i do i get a test failed. The only way it seems to work is when i have a cord connected from the router to the actual xbox. Is there anyway i get get it to work with out it  (WIRELESS). I have Att dsl and Cisco router. Thanks so much everyone in advance.

I also had trouble connecting with my XBox a few days.
Go to Administration / Factory Defaults and reset everything.
Reinstall the router and see if the Xbox connects.
What I noticed is that many tips on the Internet recommend creating an IP on the Xbox from 192.168.1.20 (or 30), make sure your router is configured to start from 100 (Start IP Address: 192.168.1.100)
Thanks,

  • I am trying to get my Xbox 360 controller to work on my Mac.

    I am trying to get my Xbox 360 controller to work on my Mac. I have installed the suggested driver and the program ControllerMate. The Mac sees the controller because it shows up and responds. The program ControllerMate also sees the controller and responds appropriately, but the game (Minecraft) doesn't. HAs anyone else cracked this nut or have advice?

    Try using the resetting SMC procedure
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964
    You may have done something similar already, but do it precisely as described.  You should disconnect ALL peripheral devices, except for Apple keyboard and mouse.
    Also, when you plug it back in, if the iMac is currently plugged into an old (or overcrowded) power strip (surge suppressor), try connecting it directly to a wall outlet by itself.

  • Trying to get the default database connection

    I'm trying to use the default database connection that the application server has but when I call this method I get an error :
    Connection conn = (new oracle.jdbc.driver.OracleDriver()).defaultConnection();
    java.sql.SQLException: Invalid Oracle URL specified
    Do I have to do some setup? I don't want to hard code the connection URL in my code.
    Thanks,
    Merced

    Hi Avi,
    Thank you so much. I added the following and I was able to get the connection:
    Context ctx = new InitialContext();
    DataSource ds = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/DBConnection1CoreDS");
    Connection c = ds.getConnection();
    Currently I'm running it from JDeveloper and the data-source.xml gets generated automatically. How will it work when I deploy this application to the Oracle Application server? Do I have to update or copy data-source.xml? What does "jdbc/DBConnection1CoreDS" mean? I only know that in data-source.xml I have location="jdbc/DBConnection1CoreDS". I don't understand how Context is able to find this. I also deleted this entry from data-souce.xml but it got generated again. I don't understand that either.
    Your help is appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Merced

  • Two years trying to get Toshiba Laptop Wireless Connection to work

    I've been trying for the last two years to try and get the wireless connection on my Toshiba Laptop to work without much sucess. I did for a short time manage to establish an ad-hoc wireless connection from the Laptop to a Desktop and share the internet connection that way but then that stopped working.
    I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro U400-15L model no PSU45E-00J005EN. It's the one with the 12.1" screen and running Windows XP Pro sp3.
    My Wireless switch on the front of the laptop is turned on. It is also enabled in the software FN F5 Wireless enabled, bluetooth disabled. I don't have Intel ProSet.
    Previously when I managed to establish an ad-hoc connection that was using microsofts software. I had to manually enable the Wireless Zero Configuation (WZC) each time though as it always started disabled or stopped even if I set it to start automatically. It was a monumental PITA.
    When I try and connect to the home ADSL Wireless Router (Belkin N150) using the Toshiba software I get the error message "another vendor's application is controlling the wireless adaptor".
    I get this all the time even if I have disabled Microsofts Wireless Zero Configuration (WZC).
    I was thinking Windows was still somehow controlling this even though I have disabled WZC so having read solutions in other posts I have tried going to...
    contol panel -> network connections -> wireless connection -> properties -> wireless networks tab -> uncheck "Use Windows to configure...".
    But unfortunately there is no "wireless networks tab" in there, all I have is the other two tabs. And since trying to use Toshibas software to establish the wireless connection using their Radar thing, now when I click into the wireless network connection it has the message "Windows cannot configure this wireless connection. If you have enabled another program to configure this wireless connection, use that software."
    Can anyone on the forum or at Toshiba help please?
    Thanks,
    John

    Two years? Sorry but I cannot believe it.
    If everything is Ok and I mean if there is no hardware problem you dont need longer than two minutes for WLAN configuration.
    At first you must be sure the WLAN card is installed properly (device manager).
    WLAN card must also be enabled properly (switch > check FN+F8 > check ConfigFree tool).
    When he WLAN card is enabled properly (check status in ConfigFree) scan the area using option RADAR in ConfigFree.
    Can you find this option?
    Can you scan the area?
    Is some WLAN visible for your notebook?

  • Trying to get assistance for a connection problem ...

    First, let's get this straight. No, restarting the router has no effect on the connection (as the 'technical' help desk advised me 3 times in a row).
    Please see previous thread for when the problems started occuring:
    http://community.bt.com/t5/BT-Infinity/Service-has-been-great-for-a-week-ping-loss-after-big-disconn...
    Since then I have been in pretty much regular contact with someone from this forum called Stuart. I must commend his commitment to trying to solve the problem, including one engineer visit a few months ago which I wasn't charged for, but still the problem persists.
    Tonight the line is atrocious, unusable.
    tracert to one of the new FFXIV servers: http://i.imgur.com/Wx3sWgp.png (packet loss exhibited on hop 3 and 4 a few minutes after i uploaded the screenshot)
    TBB to my IP: http://i.imgur.com/rlilqpr.png
    The random disconnects, the packet loss, the random latency... it's disgraceful. BT have had enough time to sort this out (I reported it in April), and still I'm being charged full price for this line. The problem doesn't appear to be with the connection to my house specifically, but anything past the local exchange. Who can I speak to so I can get some sort of a refund on this...I'm well within my rights to terminate the contract with this kind of service, and I'm seriously considering doing so.

    I would suggest you continue with mod help as they are only bt employees on the forum and from your posts you need bt assistance

  • I am trying to stop my Xbox from connecting to my Airport extreme base station and only connect to my airport express extender.  Anyone have any ideas?

    I have an aiport extreme base station in my living room and an airport express in my bedroom extending the network.  For some reason my xbox along with some other devices always connects to the extreme base station in the living room which has a very low signal.  Is there a way to setup a seperate network for my express extender so that I can connect only certain devices?  HELP

    You would probably want your Express to join the network if an extender isn't required. Reset to factory settings and join the network.
    If you do want your Express as an extender run an Ethernet cable between the Express and the Verizon router and set the Express up to be in bridge mode, with the same WiFi network name and password as your Verizon router.

  • Trying to get my java program connected to MySQL

    This works perfectly in the Eclipse IDE area that I have but when I run the same program on the Net Beans 3.6 IDE area it gives me a 'not suitable driver' error. To note these are both on the same computer. I would really like to get the Net Beans 3.6 IDE working because that is what I am most familiar with using. If you know of the problem why one IDE area recognizes the driver where the next does not I would sure like to know. Somebody passed the idea that when the 3.6 area is executed there are multiple instances running and it resets the ClassPath(I think they where shooting in the dark but it is a lead none the less). Anyway if anybody has had this problem please enlighten me, Thank-You.
    The ClassPath is set to the following:
    ClassPath = C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.5.0_02\lib;C:\unzipped\mysql-connector- java-3.1.7\mysql-connector-java-3.1.7;C:\Program Files
    \Java\jdk1.5.0_02\jre\lib\ext;
    This is the code:
    import java.sql.*;
    import java.sql.Connection;
    import java.sql.DriverManager;
    import java.sql.SQLException;
    public class Connect2 {
         public static void main(String[] args) {
              try {
                   // The newInstance() call is a work around for some
                   // broken Java implementations
                   Class.forName("com.mysql.jdbc.Driver");
              } catch (Exception ex) {
                   System.out.println("HERE");
              try {
                   String url = "jdbc:mysql://localhost/test";
                   String username = "root";
                   String password = "password";
                   Connection conn = DriverManager.getConnection(
                             "jdbc:mysql://localhost/test", "root", "password");
                   Statement c = conn.createStatement();
                   c.execute("insert into green values('richmond')");
                   c.execute("select * from green");
                   ResultSet rs = c.getResultSet();
                   while (rs.next()) {
                        System.out.println(rs.getString(1));
                   // Do something with the Connection
              } catch (SQLException ex) {
                   // handle any errors
                   System.out.println("SQLException: " + ex.getMessage());
                   System.out.println("SQLState: " + ex.getSQLState());
                   System.out.println("VendorError: " + ex.getErrorCode());
    }

    There are some oddities with the DriverManager when it comes to registering drivers taken from a different ClassLoader, though I don't see how that would apply here, unless the IDE itself is loading one of the classes.
    There's a facility in DriverManager to enumerate the registered drivers. It might be worth doing that and seeing their class names.

  • Trying to get Airport Express to connect to the internet in a school intranet

    I can get my new Airport Express to create a new network in my wife's classroom, but the school has an intranet that controls the internet access, so the Airport can't get on the internet.  What do I need to ask the school IT administrators for in the way of IP addresses, etc., and where do I include that information in the Airport start-up?

    You will have to be careful about asking questions of the IT guys since most schools prohibit the use of wireless routers on their networks. A more sophisticated network can be configured to automatically detect the presence of a router and simply not allow it to connect.
    We need to understand how the school's network works.
    When your wife connects her computer to the school network using an Ethernet cable, what procedure does she follow to first log on to the school's network?
    Is it the same as most hotels where once you have established an Ethernet connection between the computer and network, you open your Internet browser and a log in page will automatically appear. There you must typically enter a user name and/or password.
    If yes, the AirPort Express can likely be configured to work. Post back with your findings and we will continue.

  • I am trying to get my phone to connect to my laptop but I am having issues. The drivers say that the device is working properly but I am still unable to transfer files.

    I have gone in and ensured the MTP is selected on my phone but it still doesn't show up on my computer for me to transfer the files.

    I believe it's Samsung drivers. I'm just hooking my phone up to the
    laptop.  Everything installs on its own. Then I'll get the message that
    says the process hosting the driver for this device has terminated. I've
    Uninstalled and restarted my computer and my phone and its still saying the
    same thing.

  • Help getting my xbox 360 to see my shared external drive

    I have an Xbox 360 that is hard wired to my Airport Extreme. I also have an external hard drive hard wired sharing on my network. I am trying to get the Xbox to see the shared drive so that I can view my content.
    I searched all over the internet trying to find someone else that has done this, and the only thing that I came up with are these instructions (http://download.iomega.com/resources/hmnhd-wp-media.pdf) on how to get an IOMEGA HOME MEDIA NETWORK HARD DRIVE to connect, therefore I think that it is possible I just can't for the life of me figure out how to do it.
    Side note, my external is formatted to FAT32 and if I plug it in to the Xbox directly I can view content, so I know that the conflict is not there.
    Thanks for your help,
    -Bryan

    I figured it out.  I guess I should have tried a couple more things before posting this.  LOL
    I narrowed it down to the 360.  Everything looked fine on the Airport Express, but then the 360 had been working fine on my old router.  So that's why I thought it couldn't be the 360.
    I tried running the 360 wired through the Airport, and it still wouldn't connect.  Then I tried connecting it straight to the modem, still wouldn't connect.  So it had to be something on the 360.  I restored the factory default network settings....and bam, connected wirelessly right away.  It's so odd...nothing changed except for the router (when I got the Airport).  So there was no reason to suspect the 360.  Hope this may help if anyone else runs into this issue.

  • Trying to get Open NAT Type on 2 Xbox 360's at the same time

    After buying 3 new routers in a row trying to find a compatible router at my last house with Comcast, I finally found one that works then move to a house with Fios. I LOVE the speed... but this modem/router took our nat issue back to square one... obviously we're trying to play CoD: MW3 together, but we're both getting moderate NAT. I read a couple posts on the forums here and nobody could offer up a solution (looks like it has something to do with a NAT table that's too small or something?)
    Anyway, I came up with a potential solution but it's something I've never done before, maybe someone else knows how:
    I'm trying to connect my old dlink router to the actiontec router's internet connection, then have the xbox's connected to the dlink router with dhcp enabled. my theory is to make the actiontec router accept whatever traffic is coming through the dlink router, without knowing what devices are connected to the dlink router.
    in this way the dlink router could potentially control the NAT between the xbox's via UPnP by itself, and the actiontec router would have the xbox live ports forwarded to the dlink router's ip address.
    Am I crazy, could this work? so far I have the dlink router on a seperate subnet (192.168.0.1) while the actiontec is 192.168.1.1. the dlink router can ping machines on the actiontec router's network but not vice versa. also the dlink router cannot access the internet through the actiontec router yet. which is why i'm here. if this could work, can anyone explain how to set it up?

    to get both working, you must enable uPNP on your router. If you are connecting your xboxes to your Actiontec, same rule applies. There is no way to allow two xbox's to connect with OpenNAT without uPNP.
    Your best bet (if you can't move the actiontek behind your D-LINK) is to hook the two xbox's up to the Actiontec (preferable wired, but wifi should work).
    I have 2 xbox's running fine with uPNP enabled. Both have OpenNAT.
