Trying to monitor an indicator at all times...regardless of program structure. HELP!

I have a complex Labview VI complete with several sequence structures and "for loops" that are necessary to control the logic of the program.  I need to be able to monitor, via an  indicator on the front panel, an indicator at all times during the program. Unfortunately, the way I have it set up, the indicator on the front panel will only display the correct values if the program is in the same structure as the indicator.  How can I monitor an input regardless of where I am at in the program?  Thank you!

I apologize for the confusion and thanks for trying to help out with this.  The problem I am having is this:  I have a high voltage (0 to 10,000 V source) that I need to measure the voltage on at all times - because of safety reasons.  The high voltage source outputs a 0 to 5 V analog signal that is proportional to the 10,000V.  I measure the 0 to 5 V signal with a DAQ and need to show the value at all times on the front panel.  Because the voltage is always changing - even just a little bit - I should always see the value on the front panel changing.  However, I only see the value changing and fluctuating when the program is in the same structure (the same part of the sequence) as the indicator (that indicates the 0 to 5 V signal to the user on the front panel). Once the program goes to the next part of the sequence structure, the indicator on the front panel stays at the last value that was collected just before the program moved to the next part of the sequence.  I hope this is clearer. Thanks.

    Can Run-Time Menu and Event Structure exist simultaneously?
    Without Event Structure, Run-Time Menu works well, but Run-Time Menu works abnormally.after adding Event Structure,
    How do I modify the problem?

    Yes they can coexist, but not how you did it.
    Every iteration of the while loop you wait for an event in the event structure, and you look if the user has selected anything from the menu.
    To get this working you should add an event for <this VI>\Menu Selection (User):
    Ton
    PS you should add a stop button, the only way you can stop the VI is hitting the 'emergency stop' button, with hardware connected (like you have) this is not the adviced routine

  • I have been trying for an hour to delete all of the photos from my iphone5.  Can't do it, except for 1 at a time.  I can't even connect it to my PC and delete them from my computer.  Why isn't this easy and intuitive?

    I have been trying for an hour to delete all of the photos from my iPhone 5.  I have googled it several times and there doesn't seem to be a solution.  Have tried deleting them from my PC. One at a time deleting is impractical - I have 1000 photos!  Why isn't this easy and intuitive?

    When you hooked up to your PC did they attempt to import? Had you imported them previously and not deleted when the import was complete?
    If you have to delete them directly on your device, you need to press the select button and just keep selecting until you have all of them selected, then put them in the trash.
    You do not need to select one then trash it, then select another then trash it. You can select as many as you like before clicking on the trash icon.

    i am trying to purchase many songs at one time. i have added all songs to wish list , now to purchase it will only let me  do one at a time  please advise how i can purchase more than one at a time

    There used to be a 'buy all' button on the wish list screen but for some reason that has been removed from the current version of iTunes so you will need to buy each item individually. You can try leaving feedback for Apple and maybe it'll be added back in a future update : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunesapp.html

  • Make a portion of desktop viewable at all times

    I'm looking for a way to make a portion of my desktop viewable at all times. I realize that it's easy to write a script that resizes windows to accommodate this, but I'm looking for something with this added twist:
    Just like you can't drag a window behind the menu bar, I'd like to create an area on the left side of my screen, about 300 pixels wide, that windows cannot move over, leaving only that portion of the desktop viewable. When moving windows around, they would just bump into this invisible edge just as they do with the menu bar.
    I'm not entirely sure if this can be done in AppleScript, but I figured it would be a good place to start. Please redirect me if there is somewhere else this question would be better suited. For those wondering, I have a Geektools sidebar on my desktop that I would always like visible to me at all times.

    The dock padding he is talking about is just a variable name he uses to indicate a distance in pixels from the side of the screen...nothing special.
    Trying to get dock abilities, like menu bar abilities, is once again going to be practically impossible. If you want to do all this you will need to write your own program, or edit an open source dock like program, and then give it all the abilities you want in "geek side bar" and have it float on top etc.
    As for the topic of applescripting an applet which monitors and moves windows around. To stop getting "firefox-bin" etc. Change the line
    set Wins2_ to every window of application Aname_
    to the line
    set Wins2_ to (every window of application Aname_) who visible is true
    Should get rid of all the weird hidden ones.
    Finally I made some changes to an old stay open app of mine similar to this but it allows user choice (only through the source code as I didn't want to include more than 1 script) of any border to be extended and won't push your window out beyond the screen (will resize instead).

    end try
    return 1 --runs every second
    end idle
    It still leaks memory but I remember it running for days fine when it was done up all pretty in xcode broken into a couple of scripts.
    One more thing as a solution to memory problems is if you want to script a key combination that clears a strip of the desktop sort of like expose. I edited that unreadable code for this one.
    set Wdisp_ to 1280 --width of display
    set Pixnum_ to 300 --number of pixels to clear from the left side
    set Wins1_ to {}

    repeat with i_ from 1 to count items of A_
    set Aname_ to item i_ of A_
    try
    set Wins2_ to every window of application Aname_
    repeat with j_ from 1 to count items of Wins2_
    set end of Wins1_ to item j_ of Wins2_
    end repeat
    end try
    end repeat
    repeat with i_ from 1 to count items of Wins1_
    set W2_ to item i_ of Wins1_
    try
    set B_ to bounds of W2_
    set LB_ to item 1 of B_
    if LB_ < Pixnum_ then
    set RB_ to (item 3 of B_) + (Pixnum_ - LB_)
    if RB_ is less than Wdisp_ then
    set bounds of W2_ to {Pixnum_, (item 2 of B_), (RB_), (item 4 of B_)}
    else
    set bounds of W2_ to {Pixnum_, (item 2 of B_), (Wdisp_), (item 4 of B_)}
    end if

  • Trying to monitor db connections in Tomcat

    All,
    Not sure if I am posting in the right place, as this problem of mine seems to cover a couple of different forum topics, but I figured since its database connections I'm trying to monitor, I'd post here.
    My desire is this... I'd like to monitor all of the connections within the connection pools for each of the deployed web apps on my Tomcat 5.0.16 (Wintel W2K) server.
    I can do this easily enough within each web app, but I would really like to have one web app that monitors all of the deployed apps on the server.
    I started out by trying to leverage Tomcat's manager application. I created a new servlet (called "ConnMonServlet") within the \server\webapps\manager\WEB-INF\classes\org\apache\catalina directory which extends the ManagerServlet. When I access the servlet with the url, "http://localhost:8080/manager/connmon", I am able to get a list of all of the deployed web apps. I am also able to get information out of each web app's web.xml (from the <env-entry>).
    With this, I am trying to create a BasicDataSource (we use the latest versions of commons-dbcp and commons-pool located within the \common\lib directory), then use it to get the number of active connections and the number of idle connections.
    My problem comes in trying to get the BasicDataSource through "normal" means, which is...
    InitialContext initCtx = new InitialContext();
    javax.naming.Context envCtx = (javax.naming.Context) initCtx.lookup("java:comp/env");
    String dsName = "jdbc/raptor";
    BasicDataSource ds = (BasicDataSource) initCtx.lookup(dsName);I get the error, "javax.naming.NameNotFoundException: Name jdbc is not bound in this Context". This works fine within each web app. Is there some way to get the context for the app I'm interrogating?
    I'm just not sure if I am going about this the right way. As I go through the loop of deployed web apps, I just want to get a snapshot at that time of the number of connections both idle and active. I have posted the servlet's code below (it's still very rough).
    I have spent the better part of two days trying to get something working, and I keep hitting a wall at trying to get a BasicDataSource for the deployed web app I'm looking at in the loop. Any help anyone could provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Very elegant response. I do appreciate the information. It is kinda amusing to think OC4J is the only "certified" app server. One of the touted benefits of portal is that it is "100% Pure J2EE Compliant..." :0) *(insert good laugh)* Seems like Oracle would be inclined to make this information more obvious (about the provider requirements), since there are soooo many app servers out there that could host portlets. I can't see how providing 'alternative, unsupported configuration docs' could hurt.
    Either way, it's no skin off my back, just a little wasted time. I will check out this 'pdksoftware.zip' and see what it gives me. I have a feeling it's the same JAR's I managed to wrangle off the PDK and server, but it's nice to know for recreating a dev environment. (And the demo I'm doing tomorrow)
    Honestly, my Netbeans / Tomcat portlet development environment is very splendid! I must say, that making a change in my 'Renderer' class and having the changes appear immediately in our development portal is a very VERY good thing. (we're talkin 5 second turnaround here) The only change that requires any kind of 'reloading' is when I change my provider.xml. Just need to 'reload' the provider, and all is good again.
    A year ago, there was a serious bug in JDev / OC4J in which the auto class reload feature simply did not work. I had this confirmed with a TAR. Hence the abandonment of JDev. Needless to say, I've been a very open-standards kinda person. May as well mention, JDev was too slow and painful to use for the kind of development I like. Maybe it's better now. Who knows.
    As my team and I slowly shuffle the moving parts of Portal, you will surely see more of my posts. Thanks again for the help!
    Cheers!

  • SCOM Agent Grayed Out When Trying To Monitor Domain Controller

    Hi i am trying to monitor my domain controller from SCOM 2012 R2. But it is grayed out. I tried to restart the Monitoring Agent Service of DC. After this agent was showing healthy state but after some time it was gray once again. Repeated this process again
    and again and get the same result. I have also read many blogs related to this problem and all of them are saying to run HSLockdown.exe /A "NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM" to allow this account. Also tried this approach but this command is not working. The
    command is not running. Please help.

    Hi Abhishek, if you'd like more information on the HSLOCKDOWN util, then check out the links below:

    Gray agents could be caused by several issues, and without a detailed description of your SCOM configuration, and issues, it would be hard to pinpoint the root cause. Here's a comprehensive article on troubleshooting grey agents, that should guide you in

  • My monitor goes black at different times

    My screen goes black at varies times. Someiimes when I cut my computer on, the screen is black. Then other times it goes black after i have been on for a while. I know something is going bad but what?

    , Hello and thanks for posting on the HP support forums.  First question is.  Have you tried the monitor on another system or plugged it into a notebook to see if you have the same issue.  Normally if your monitor goes black when plugged into your computer and it is the problem with the computer.  You will get a no signal message come up on the screen. If at all possible please post back with your full Model and Product number so I can pull the specs on the system and see what options it came with and find out the best way to search out what the problem may be. Here is a link to help you with this. HP Desktop PCs - How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number? Here is another link that may be of help until you post back. HP and Compaq All-in-One and HP TouchSmart Desktop PCs - Screen is Blank after Starting the Computer Please let me know how things go and post back when you get a chance. Thanks again for the post and have a great day.

  • My Firefox window browser does not open at all. Tried everything. No window at all.

    A few days back now, a message kept appearing that certificate had expired as 31/5/2011. I just cancelled that and went on to use the browser, Now the browser will not load any page at all.
    Tried as many things as I dare.
    Thank you for your help.

    Hello everyone.
    Hopefully this support article is what you need:
    https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Firefox+will+not+start
    In any case, you may be having a problem with some Firefox add-on that is hindering your Firefox's normal behavior. Have you tried disabling all add-ons (just to check), to see if Firefox goes back to normal?
    Whenever you have a problem with Firefox, whatever it is, you should make sure it's not coming from one of your installed add-ons, be it an extension, a theme or a plugin. To do that easily and cleanly, run Firefox in [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Safe+Mode safe mode] and select ''Disable all add-ons''. If the problem disappears, you know it's from an add-on. Disable them all in normal mode, and enable them one at a time until you find the source of the problem. See [http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes this article] for information about troubleshooting extensions and theme. You can troubleshoot plugins the same way.
    If you want support for one of your add-ons, you'll need to contact its author.

  • How do I send SMS only at ALL TIMES with an iPhone to ALL contacts? My family shares iPads under my ID and now my teenager gets all my business texts!

    How do I send SMS only at ALL TIMES with an iPhone to ALL contacts? iOS 8 now forces all Apple users to use iMessage all the time with all other iOS users. The option to send as SMS only is subordinate to iMessage in iOS 8 settings and CANNOT be turned off to send only SMS texts to another iOS device! This is a serious privacy issue for all households using iOS and doing family sharing, including over a number of iOS devices, under one member's Apple ID. Why should business conversations or financial conversations between parents be readable on an iPad in the hands of a teenager or a seven year old? The answer is not as simple as "Just don't enable iMessage on your other devices," because amy family that shares the Apple ID password is vulnerable to teenagers particularly hacking into iMessage to monitor, for example, what their parents are saying. If I were Samsung or Google I would hammer this issue immediately and continually until it is fixed by Apple (and I'm not sure why they haven't yet). iMessage is a convenience but it has this serious limitation given the architecture of the Apple universe. Apple simply cannot force all its users to conduct text messaging in arbitrarily limited way, any more than it was able to force all its users to switch from Google Maps. When will Apple fix this?

    Trademann wrote:
    Fox, that does not work, because then you are blocked from sending any form of message to another Apple user. iMessage MUST be activated to text any other iOS device. And then Apple defaults by ALWAYS using iMessage between iOS devices.There is simply no way, within iOS 8, to send SMS only to another Apple user. Apple has made that impossible.
    The SMS-only choice used to be on the same menu level as iMessage, but  now it is locked WITHIN iMessage, and is not available as a choice unless iMessage is activated. Then it is limited solely to being used if iMessage is not available.
    I'm sure their argument is that they are saving their customers money because iMessage is free, but they are imposing an opportunity cost on 100 percent of their user base in the guise of saving that money. What they are really doing is entrapping faithful users such as myself further within the Apple ecosystem. If I hadn't already spent thousands of dollars on my iTunes library I might consider a Galaxy ... Samsung does not deserve to regain any momentum if they can't figure out how to exploit this.
    Turning off iMessage does not prevent you from sending messages to other Apple users.  You can send an SMS to any iPhone without your own iMessage turned on, even if it is turned on on their iPhone.
    The SMS-only option is: Turn off iMessage.  Literally.  That's it.
