Trying to run HTML 5 file on IE8

Is there a way I can run HTML5 published file on IE8? I know the browser does not support HTML 5, but my client is not willing to upgrade to IE9 at this time, so wanted to know what the best possible way to run the HTML5 on IE8.

The best possible way to run HTML5 on a non-HTML5-compliant web browser is not at all.
If your client wants to stick with IE8 then they need to be using HTM/SWF output, not HTML5.
Why would they be demanding HTML5 output if their default company browser won't support it?

I tried to do that and it told me Adobe support adviser no longer exists.
Could you please advise a solution.

Extract it to a different location inside a dedicated folder and make sure to not destroy the file and folder hierarchy inside the archive. also run the install with sufficient user privielges and security stuff turned off.

I was just trying as mentioned in the subject of how to run an html file from a java file.We have runtime class which inturn is having exec method which returns process but it supports only .exe as an argument .Is there any way to do this???

Won't open after trying to open HTML file

Hi, I had an .html file and by mistake I tried to open it with iWeb. Now, when I try to open iWeb I get an error message:
*Can’t open file “~/Desktop/websites/TRC/book40off.html.”* OK BUTTON
When you click the OK, then nothing happens. It doesn't open at all. I restarted my imac i5 27" (10.6.4) and it's doing the same thing. I really need to open iWeb, so what should I do???
I never had a problem like this where you TRY to open a file and then the application goes nuts.

###### UPDATE ######
I took the CD that came with my iMac "iMac Applications Install DVD" and installed the iWeb package over. It did the install, restarted the computer and when I look in the Application folder I can see the date on iWeb is TODAY. But, when I click to open it I get the SAME error message!!!! How can that be when I installed it over again?

Broken pipe warning on trying to run dmg files

however when i click on the xx.dmg i get warning cant run "broken pipe" in a dialog box.

Unsupported class version error trying to run jar file on windows machine

Hi,
i've written a program that connects to an access database to get its data. Created a jar file with the class files, the access database and other required files.
works fine on my home windows computer but when i try to run it on another machine i get an error.
here's what i write on the cmd: java -Xmx128m -jar myFile.jar
heres the error i get:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: StartUp(Unsupported major.minor version 49.0)
at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method)
and so on.
It seems like it might be quite a basic error but i'm lost, can anyone please shed some light and tell me where i'm going wrong?

hey there, in case anyone was going to reply, i've worked it out now. couldn't work out what was wrong at first so just pulled out all my classes and put them into a brand new jar file. now use javaw -jar instead of java and it worked fine! wierd...

Trying to open .html file in safari

When i save my file in text edit as: name.html.txt it opens as a blank page in safari (using open file)!!!!!!
What am I doing wrong?????
Then when i return to the file in text edit it opens as it should in safari, like a web page.
How do I get back to the code that I wrote???????

Open Preferences in TextEdit. Under "New Document" check off "Plain Text" under Format. Under "Open and Save" make sure "Add '.txt' extension to plain text files" is unchecked.
New files will be in plain text and when you save them you can use any extension you want.
To change an existing rtf file to plain text. Press Command-A to select everything in the file and then go to the Format menu and choose "Make Plain Text". Save the file.
Having an htm(l) extension is as much for human convenience as it is for a browser. Having an html extension will allow a file to be loaded into a browser by default, but if you open a file, regardless of extension, using "Open File" in a browser, then if it is properly formated html code, the browser will render it as a web page.

WrongName error when trying to run a package file

Hi, I am trying to run a file in a package. The package name is called com.davidflanagan.examples.net and the file name is ProxyServer.class. I've set the class path to point to the directory the package is in using the CLASSPATH environment variable. I've tried using "java ProxyServer" and "java com.davidflanagan.examples.net.ProxyServer", but I get a cryptic Wrong name error in both Windows and Linux. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

First, ProxyServer's source code must start with the line...
package com.davidflanagan.examples.net;
Next, you must have a directory structure that matches the package name - a directory named com which contains a directory named davidflanagan which contains a directory named examples which contains a directory named net and ProxyServer.class must be in the net directory,.
Next, the directory that contains com must be in your Classpath when you execute ProxyServer.
To execute ProxyServer, use "java com.davidflanagan.examples.net.ProxyServer"

Running multiple files

I am trying to run multiple files with my java app on a Unix server. I compiled with javac, and run it thus:
java SNL *.mef
meaning I want to run all of the files with .mef suffix. Unfortunately it does nothing. If I just run one file at time this way:
java SNL bach.mef
it will work just fine. My main method looks like this:

Print html file via share intent

You right-click on that parameter and select Create Callback VI. This will automatically create a VI with the required inputs and outputs. This is the VI that will be called when the event occurs. Trying to Open Raw file in Photoshop Elements 4

Does anybody have any ideas how I can open a RAW file from a cannon G10 camera in Photoshop elements 4.0? The file is coming out of the camera as *.CR2. I am working on a MAC with OS 10.5.7.
When I try to open a CR2 file in PE 4.0 it says it can not complete my request because photoshop elements does not recognize this file type.
I have also tried to run the file through the dng converter version 5.3 and when I try to open it with PE 4.0 it gives the same message above.
Any ideas of how to get this open and take advantage of the RAW format would be greatly appreciated, thank you in advance.

There is no PSE 7 for mac. However, you may be able to find a version of the Adobe raw converter that will work in PSE 4 that will open your G10 files. I would start with the latest version (5.3) and keep working backwards till you find the latest version that will work in PSE 4. Camera raw updates for PSE mac are here:

although the recent updates are listed for PSE 6 only, it's often possible with PSE to use updates that are supposedly too recent for your version of PSE, especially with PSE/Mac.

The DPS continues to NOT work with html files

Hi Adobe guys...i try the last 2 days to upload one white page with one html file (1MB)...the procedure fails all time...I see the "Error During Download" message. And the server seems to produce abnormal big files (156 of 417 MB)....
The other 2 projects was produced before your DPS update and contains multiple html files....Any reason for this? Thanks

This isn't a DPS support site, but rather a community forum. You should contact Adobe via your support agreement if you're looking for technical assistance.
The issue sounds related to how you're trying to use HTML files. We have HTML articles every month and don't have any issues.
My only thought is that the folder you're selecting to include when you import your HTML articles has lots of extra data in it, which is bloating the size of the folio.

Through our java application we need to create HTML files that have to display unicode text. Our present works well with English and most of the european character set. But when we tried to create HTML files that will display unidoce text, say japanese, only ???? is getting displayed. Following is the code we have used. The out on the browser displays the japanese characters correctly. But the created file displays only ??? in place of japanese chars. Can anybody tell how can we do it?

Try changing the charset attribute within the META tag from 'utf-8' to 'SHIFT_JIS' or 'utf-16'. One of those two ought to do the trick for you.
