Trying to update apps but it wont update

Im trying to update appps on my iphone 4s i enter my apple id and password and it will say installing for a second but then it resets to need to update app. Anyoone know how to fix this so i can update my phone?

It's not referencing your iTunes version. It's referencing your device's iOS version. An iPhone 3G has a maximum iOS of 4.2.1. If an app requires an iOS higher than that, it will not work on your iPhone 3G.

Apps are forever tied to the AppleID used to download them.
Either use the original AppleID or delete the app and then download again
using your current AppleID. You cannot transfer an app from one AppleID to
another, nor can you merge AppleIDs.

The 1G iPod can only go as high as 3.1.3. The 1G does not have an internal speaker or volume buttons on the upper left edge.

I am trying to download apps but all that is happening is that I get a waiting under the app. I am downloading from the app store. This has been going on for 3 days now, I can sync it to my PC and it will download the app but that's not what I want. Thank

I am trying to download apps but all that happens is the icon appears with a "waiting" underneath it. Updates do the same and so I am not able to download anything. I have rebooted the iPad this hasn't helped. I am able to sync the iPad with my PC and this updates everything. I would however not have to do this constantly. Any ideas on how to solve this download issue.

turn your ipad off by holding the sleep wake button for 5 seconds and slide to turn off then turn it back on and the apps should be finished and if the apps didnt finish just redownload them

iWork '09 has three different versions each of which require a different minimum operating system 10.4.11 (x.0); 10.6.6 (x.1); 10.7.4 (x.2). I had the same issue.I did what is adviced here and resolved the problem.I will explain it here step by step once again.
1-)Go to Set up--->General---->Restrictions in your iphone and turn it off completely.
2-)Turn off your iphone completely and turn it on again after a short waiting.
3-)Connect your iphone to your computer and open itunes
4-)Go to your iphone in itunes and select applications window there
5-)Heyyooo,there they are,no grayed out applications.
6-)Do whatever you want to with your applications.

1. Close all inactive apps. Double-click the Home button and hold apps in the Task Bar down until they all wiggle then tap the minus sign to close apps. Tap the home button to return to Home screen.
2. Hold the Sleep/Wake and Home button down until you see the Apple Logo.
