To minimise loss... Connect to iTunes on the computer you Usually Sync with and Restore from the most recent Backup...

I have 2 touch's that froze when trying to update to the latest ios version. Neither respond to restarting the devices. They are also not recognized in windows or itunes. How do I get these to work. Today while driving home from vacation i purchased and downloaded the new Nichleback CD, when i got home, i plugged my phone into my computer to update everything and it pulled up a message saying something like "this computer has recognized an iPhone that is in memory update, you will need to restore the phone" or something similar to that, it had a picture of the power cord plugging into iTunes on the screen and i couldn't get rid of it, so i had to plug it in and restore everything, when it was done i noticed that not only did i loose the new CD that i had just purchased today but i lost all of the music that i've purchased since the last update. How can i restore this music without purchasing it all again?
Media should be included with the backup of the computer that all users should be creating on a regular basis as part of basic computer/data maintenance.
In the event that you do not have a backup (stop being lazy.... keep backups of YOUR data and other important files)
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, it is possible to redownload music via iCloud from purchased history.
If you are not in the US or for some reason cannot run iTunes 10.3 or later, contact iTunes customer support and ask very nicely for the opportunity to redownload the content. They are not required to provide this opportunity.
It is also possible to transfer content from an iDevice that was purchased via iTunes. On the new computer, sign into the iTunes account, authorize the computer, connect the device then select File > Transfer Purchases.
The simplest method of all is to transfer or copy the media (and other important files) from the old computer or the backup of the old computer. Typing "move itunes library" into the search bar here or into google will reveal step by step instructions on how to do this. -

How does one view / retrieve " journals " from icloud?....
Using iPad to do journals for trips
Noted there were duplicates and triplicates of events
Had a One to One - unable to answer this
Advised to back up iPad before updating it
Backed up iPad to laptop then attempted to update but got an error
Advised to convert iPad to original format then use the recent back up to get back pictures
However all pictures were not recovered and the journals are gone
Journals were uploaded to icloud- are they not still there
Nobody can advise me how to access them in icloud?
And if I can -can I down load them back to my iPad

screen shows USB cord, and an arrow pointing to the iTunes icon. After many attempts to troubleshoot & restore the iPhone 4 with iTunes its still in recovery mode. It has shown a few error messages like 9 &1013. Can anyone shed any light on this its been two weeks and still nothing?
Actually, the phone is in recovery mode.
Error 9 indicates USB connection problem.
Error 1013 indicates security app interference or alteration of your hosts file by prior use of iphone hacking apps such as tinyumbrella.

my 2nd gen itouch went to recovery mode after the battery drained. how do i get it out of recovery mode without restoring it? btw, my itouch is not jailbroken and it's on ios4 (don't know which version). thanks!
you can find softwares like recboot that will remove the recovery mode. you can search it on google

I have an iphone 3G, and I am trying to update my phone to the 4.2.1 software, when I begin to update my phone it tells me that all the files have to be backed up on my computer first. The issue is my phone has been hooked up to my computer backing up my phone for 6 hours and still no update, in fact maybe 10% of my info from my phone is backed up after 6 hours???? So is it because my phone is so old or is it the number of apps??? I have updated my itunes and everything. How can I backup faster so I can update or will it just have to run its course, please HELP!!!

Check for 'others' in iTunes against your iPhone.

You cannot. If it is in recovery mode, the data is already gone.
