Yes, this is really a deal breaker for me as you say ... I'm forced to write three times slower than I did on Windows 8, that's horrible (I used to type about 110 words/min).
I'm going to return my Mac and I think I'm going to buy an Asus laptop instead ...
What a shame that Apple does not do anything for this to be configured, I have read other forums and I see that I'm not the only one complaining about that ...

I have an action engine with several instances. Any time that I add a method to the engine, I have to modify all of the calling code to update the constant that determines the method being called. There must be a smarter way to address this problem but my LV experience is insufficient to identify it. Can any of you wiz-bangs tell me if it is possible to make a type def (I can do this) and use it with each instance of the action engine call so that changing any instance also updates the typedef?
Thanks.Take your enumerator. If it is not a control (ie constant), change it to a control.
Under File Menu, select New > Custom Control.
Move (or copy) your Enum Control to the Custom Control. Change the Control to Strict Type Def (the selection to the right of the wrench). Save it.
(EDIT: ** OOps, the picture shows the wrong one.. sorry**)
Copy that new Strict Type Def control to your code.

OR.. If you're using LV8.x, and using a project, I would recomment that you do it from within your project explorer. Simply insert a new "Control". The rest of the steps are similar, except that you can insert it from your project.

How can I restore my iPhone 4S with a broken lock button and with a passcode
I have tried restoring the phone by trying to let the battery drain and by plugging it in and holding the home button but that did not work. I also tried using RecBoot but kept getting an error message. The iPhone has a passcode and a broken sleep/wake button so I cannot put it into recovery mode. The holding of the home button method was given to me by Apple (called them). It is running iOS 5.1.1 if it makes any difference. Please help!!

My daughter's ipod nano shows up in "devices" when I plug it in...but it disappears. Right away it says it needs to update, but then after extracting the files it comes back and says that it can't be updated because it can't be unmounted. help?!
When in DFU mode and connected to the computer iTunes does not say anything but iTunes will see the iPod and you can restore the iPod via iTunes. When in recovery mode and you connect, iTunes will say it found an iPod in recovery mode.

How can I sync my iPad to a computer after syncing it to the iCloud? I have the option of setting it up new, or restoring to a sync from many months ago. I dont want to lose any apps but I would like to back up on computer. No auto sync like other devices.
Plug it into your computer. Tell it to sync with "this computer" instead of iCloud. You shouldn't have to remove any apps. Otherwise, you can save the app data by using i-FunBox ( http://www.i-funbox.com/ ) just go to the "devices" tab and select 'user applications' and select all of your apps and tell iFunBox to "copy to pc" you're done! You have them all backed up.

To my horror, I emptied these boxes and lost all my mail from all my boxes .

Thanks for any thoughts.I'm having a similar but slightly different problem. My company just migrated to Gmail, and it's saving mail drafts every 30 seconds into my Trash folder.
I unchecked the "Show in IMAP" preference in the Gmail settings, but my Drafts folder completely disappeared. I went back and checked it and the folder reappeared (with my drafts still in there).
I like the idea if starting an email on my laptop and having the option of finishing it on my iPhone or iPad, so only saving Drafts locally would not be ideal. -
How can I find what apple ID I used to register my iMac when I first booted up? I am being told that by using this ID I will be able to go on to the App store and down load iPhoto at no cost. Thanks....Launch Keychain Access and click on Login in the left hand pane and then on Passwords. Next do search for Apple in the search field at the top and click on Apple ID Authenicication in the list that comes up. That will give you the ID no. and password.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. If I download a video from my video camera to a new (current 1/12) iMac 21 inch, how can I burn it to a DVD using the computer itself. Is this possible? Do I need to buy additional software. Two salespeople at the Apple were a little confused about this. Thank you.
The DVD recorder I'm referring to is one I've use for years. It is not attached to my aging iMac in any way. I simply play the video from my camcorder (mini-dv tape based Canon HV20) into the DVD recorder and create a DVD that can be played in any DVD player. I can only do minimum editing so what goes in is what I get. This has been fine for creating dupes of the various things I shoot.
If I buy a new iMac (21 inch), I'd like to be able to download the video to the iMac through iMovie, work with it to whatever degree I wish, and burn it to a DVD that can also be played in any DVD player -- or to use as a master to dupe copies.
What I'm understanding from you and others is that this would be possible if Apple had included iDVD in the software that comes with the iMac, or if I purchase the iLife Family Pack, or buy the correct version of Toast. I'm hoping I can persuade Apple to sell me an iMac with iDVD installed.
Essentially I want to move from a basic process of creating DVD copies to the more sophisticated process of creating one from an iMac.
