Which particular .msi file does the message go on to say cannot be found? (Several different .msi files might be mentioned in this context: itunes.msi, bonjour.msi, AppleSoftwareUpdate.msi, etc.)

According to Apple documentation error 1015 is:
Error 1015: This error is typically caused by attempts to downgrade the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch's software. This can occur when you attempt to restore using an older .ipsw file. Downgrading to a previous version is not supported. To resolve this issue, attempt to restore with the latest iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch software available from Apple. I researched the advice on the link provided by b noir as well as very similar advice from apple support: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376. It worked for me (for now).
Some things of note:
I did all of the things requested by the link I provided
My computer WOULD NOT uninstall Apple Mobile Device Support. I had to manually remove the folder (also as instructed by the url)
I also uninstalled MobileMe. Was a little different than removing the other apps. Follow instructs provided here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2992
I did not uninstall iCloud
I have to admit it was a bit scary removing all those things. Is important to note that when re-installing Apple, follow steps to do so as Administrator (the right-click thingy and whatnot).

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken tracks only from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If you don't see them straight away it may help to restart iTunes. While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

I have been downloading Mountain Lion for MAC for over 4 hrs. and it seems to be stuck about 2/3 of the way through. I have a I mac that is only 2 yrs old has 8 GB memory and I updated all software, checked utilitie for any disc repairs andbacked up everything before I started this process. Let it go... these DL's take forever, depending on the spped of your connection and the traffic on the servers.
If by morning it is still sitting there restart and the DL should pick up from where it left off.

ITunes 10.4 not playing songs all the way through

Hi all,
I am having an issue with iTunes 64bit 10.4. My songs don't play all the way through, sometimes playing a few seconds before skipping to the next one and sometimes well into the song before skipping (without any predictable pattern even for the same song). It doesn't seem to be an issue with the transfer of music files from old computer to new computer b/c the same thing happens with new iTunes Store downloads and when I play music stored on my old computer through Home Sharing.
Any ideas what may be causing this? Thanks for your help!

Same problem on my daughter's MacBook Pro that we bought last month. She started off with iTunes 10.4, upgraded to iTunes 10.7. Probably 64 bit, though I haven't checked. I think all the new Macs are obligatory 64 bit. The problem occurred with iT 10.4, and still happens with iT 10.7 So far, we have noticed the problem only on files transferred from an old computer. In particular, these are the m4p format, which are drm protected. It does not happen with all m4p files, though.
1) In this incarnation, the problem is entirely reproducible. If the same track is played over, it skips to the next track at exactly the same point.
2) The files are not corrupt. They can be played all the way through using Quicktime Player.
Other than that, I haven't a clue.

TS1717 How can I download iTunes to my Windows 7 computer?

When I tried to install iTunes to my Toshiba AllinOne DX735 computer with Windows 7 I got a message on my computer saying an earlier version of iTunes was installed than the one required by my Windows 7 system.
How can I install the correct version of iTunes on my computer? I do have an iPod 5 and need to have it.

You cannot downlaod only part of iTunes.
You mean you have downlaoded and installed and you can run iTunes but you can only see Music at the top left of iTunes.
Click the little arrow at top left then Show menu.

4 albums purchased from iTunes yesterday have songs not playing all the way through. They play for a period of time and skip to the next song. Everytime they are played. Can anyone help?

Some songs I purchased last night are not playing all the way through. Several songs from the 4 albums I purchased play for a period of time then just skip to the next song. The songs that do this, do it everytime they are played at the exact same spot. The songs that are affected skip to the next on iTunes on my PC which is updated to the most current iTunes and my 160gb iPod classic. Everytime they are played at the exact same spot. However on my other device, iPhone 4s all songs play just fine. I have almost 7,000 songs on my iPod and this has never happened before and I have played it awhile since downloading those albums yesterday. This is only happening with the albums purchased yesterday. Can anyone help me figure out what is wrong?

Have you tried checking the Store drop-down menu in the iTunes interface to see if you are signed in the existing account?

I download the new flash player and it goes all the way through and says finish but it does nothing

I go to Adode's website and download the new flash player because I can't watch clips all the sudden and I go all the way through the download and click finish. But when I go to say youtube it says I need a newer flash player. It's a never ending thing, no matter what I do it's the same over and over. Please help

It seems to be a browser specific issue. Try a different browser like chrome or firefox, it should work.
For fixing IE or Safari, lets follow below suggestions :
Run the Flash Player Uninstaller as applicable for your machine(i.e.Windows or MAC) and remove flash player.

Restart the machine.
