TS2634 1st gen iPad has suddenly quit showing that it's charging. I found that if it's shut it down and plugged in for 12+ hours, it will charge, but when in use, the battery drains quickly. When connected to the Mac, it doesn't link with iTunes.
Is this a problem that can be easily fixed? I'm guessing it's a problem with the charger connector, possibly??
The quickest way (and really the only way) to charge your iPad is with the included 10W USB Power Adapter. iPad will also charge, although more slowly, when attached to a computer with a high-power USB port (many recent Mac computers) or with an iPhone Power Adapter (5W). When attached to a computer via a standard USB port (most PCs or older Mac computers) iPad will charge very slowly (but iPad indicates not charging). Make sure your computer is on while charging iPad via USB. If iPad is connected to a computer that’s turned off or is in sleep or standby mode, the iPad battery will continue to drain.
Apple recommends that once a month you let the iPad fully discharge & then recharge to 100%.

It will charge to 100% in 4 hours 2 minutes. The new iPad has a larger capacity battery (42 watt-hours), so using the 10W charger will obviously take longer. If you are using your iPad while charging, it will take even longer. It's best to turn your new iPad OFF and charge over night. I have had the same problem but I seem to be getting somewhere to fixing it!!! My battery was going down at 20% an an hour now its 10% with constant use and 5 in standby !!! So improvement all round
First I did a restore then I drained the battery i started to charge it and when it came on I turned the phone off completely and let it charge to 100% I then left it for a couple of hours on charge at 100. I saw no improvement after 1st drain so I repeated the drain battery and charge steps again with the phone turned off when charging and have seen a very big improvement. I am going to do it again tonight and hopefully problem solved!!!!
The next issue is iMessage as that's playing up and wifi drop out

MY 1st gen iPad has candy crush ---but it is stuck in "an update mode". My iPad can no longer acceptsupdates for any games beyond 5.1. Therefore, each time I try to access the game it goes into a "pause" mode. I would hate to delete the game because I think I will lose my score. But I can't play the game either. I have a similar problem. But my iPad shows the connect iTunes screen and gives error 2001 when I try to restore it.
My iPad's battery was fine but I didn't use it for like 2 weeks. It's battery would've discharged and it turned off. When I tried to charge through wall socket, it got into the restart loop where it would show apple logo and turn off. So I did the simultaneous holding of Home and Sleep buttons for 10 seconds or more. It started showing connect to iTunes.
When I try to restore, the iTunes does the usual "extracting file" or something and go upto preparing for restore. But the iPad screen turns off from "connect to iTunes" and iTunes gives the error 2001, and the screen is back to connect to iTunes.
Also, if I don't plug in, the iPad seems dead, doesn't wake up or anything. -

So based on that you're saying around 6 hours discharge? That sounds about right if you're on the web using 3G. Games and apps eat up the battery faster.

Water damage to my iPhone 5s and now the battery drains quickly
My water bottle leaked through my bag and got into my phone, when I discovered this I have no idea how long it had been sitting in water for. It wouldnt turn on so I immediately put it in rice in a snap lock bag. After a few hours it turned on again and all seemed to be fine but now the battery drains very quickly, even when no apps are open.
I only got the phone a few weeks ago. Is this something that will be cheap to fix by apple or am I better off trying to do it myself?Also my finger print thing doesnt work but I can live without that, but i cant live withouth a battery

My daughter also just bought a Mac Book Pro 13" with the same issue. When we migrated over from the old computer, we brought over only her documents, no applications, and she was getting only about a 2 hour battery life on the new MBP. Somewhere in the MBP threads in this forum someone who was experiencing this same battery life problem said he was told by an Apple Genius in a retail store to try setting up a second user, and then to try working out of that user only. So we set up the second user, logged out of the old user, and the battery life readout is now about six hours after a charge when my daughter is logged in as the new user. If she needs old documents or other files she can always log in as the old user to use them, but she rarely has to go back. Whenever she is logged on as the old user the battery life shows under two hours, but when she she logs out and logs back in as the new user it jumps back up to around six hours.
There seems to be no need to eliminate the files etc. that reside under the old user. As long as my daughter is logged out as the old user and logged in as the new user, the battery life is much better. Weird solution, but it seems to be working. She is running Lion 10.7.4.

Why is it that my iphone5 drains quickly when i started using ios7?
i notice that when i started using the ios7 the battery drains quickly. i already disable some settings to preserve the battery.
There were a lot of apps that suddenly started using iCloud. I turned them all off except those I actually use. After a few days, the battery life is a litle better but still not where it was. I also updated my iPad Retina and it is experiencing battery drain. Apple should fix this as the performance should be relattively the same one would think. I finally went to Fry Electronics and bought an external battery with two USB ports to carry around with me for the end of the day when things start to drain fast. Using my iPhone for a wireless hotspot is totally out of the question unless I have the power supply with me.

If this does not help, try again, this time without using the latest backup.
If you are using push/fetch for your mail, deleting the account and setting it up again after a restart could also solve your problem. -
MBA 2013 battery drain quickly during sleep after updated to mavericks

After I updated to mavericks this Tuesday, I noticed the battery drains quickly during sleep mode.
Before the system update, everything was ok. Each night after I closed the lid, it went to sleep and the battery only droped less than 5% after sleep of the whole night.
But during the last two nights after system update, it drained more than 50% of the battery during 8-hour sleep. I could feel some heat on its back when I picked it up. I did not change any system setting or installed any new apps.
my MBA: latest 2013 version, 13 inch, haswell i7, 8G ram, 256 SSD.
I liked my mba so much because of the long battery life. But now It was really annoying because I have to charge it very often.

Can you print from an iPad 2 using 3G in a home with no other computer or wifi by using an iPhone 5 hot spot connection if the printer has been set up in another place with live wifi? I know this question is loaded but my dad lives in a rural area and is wanting a printer to use occasionally. He doesn't want to deal with a computer and I keep his iPad updated for him at my home. Please shed some light on this for us PLEASE. Thanks
In that case, it should be possible. I haven't tried this directly, but I believe it should work.
You'll need to get an actual AirPrint compatible Printer.

Once you have the compatible printer, using the Hotspot feature from the iPhone he'll have to create the Wifi bubble form the iPhone, and connect the Printer to that Wifi network.
Then connect the iPad to that same Wifi network provided by the iPhone. When all that is done, the printer should appear in any of the Apps that can Print under the Action Arrow button.
For instance in email, pressing the action arrow should show a Print option. In there the printer should appear.
Alternatively you can simply buy a wireless router and setup the network through there even if there is no internet attached. Connect the wireless printer to the router network, and connect the iPad or iPhone to that same wifi network to print. -

I am not sure what's happening with IE9 (no live site) but I had real problems viewing your code in Live View - until I removed the HTML comment marked below. Basically your site was viewable in Design View but as soon a I hit Live view, it disappeared - much like IE9. See if removing the comment solves your issue.

The first thing to try is to power down your modem and router for about 30 seconds, then repowering by plugging them back in.
Also, if that doesn't work, on your iPad you can try going into settings/safari/clear history/clear data and cookies.
