TS2755 Since updating to ios6, I can no longer send text or pictures to non apple phones.

I am having no luck whatsoever texting from my iPad to a non apple phone. That includes pictures also. I have disabled imessage and rebooted and still no capable. Very frustrating.

You could never text using the Messages App with a non Apple Phone. Messages only works with other iOS devices so unless you were using a third party app, you never could text with a non Apple phone. Its impossible with the built in Messages app.

Since updating to ios6 I can't view any music on my iPhone. Previously i had all music library matched and could view everything on my phone as could my husband on his iPhone. My husbands still able to view music since upgrading to io6 but I can't. I have an iPhone 4 and he has an iPhone 4S. It originally showed the artists and showed songs but there were no album names or track names and the length of each song was 0:00. Now there is nothing at all showing and no playlists. All my music and playlists are on iTunes. Please help!

    Hey,
I had the same problem. Could not connect my iPad (3/new) to the personal hotspot from my iphone4. Bothe are running ios6.
I don't know if this will permanently fix your problem but it seemed to work for me.
First, restart both (iPhone and iPad).
Then, on the iPad go to settings - general - Siri, and turn Siri off.
Now turn on hotspot on your phone and connect your iPad.
    Hopefully this helped.
Apple support team, apart from maps, there are several bugs in ios6. I regret updating my devices To ios6. Please fix.

Since updating to ios7 i can no longer partially download emails and this is using up all my data plan. How can I make Mail only be partially downloaded again?

YEA!  My jurryrig worked!  To all with this problem:
You CAN have podcasts in a regular playlist IF you convert them to a standard MP3 first.  So, yes, a lot of manual labor
The good news: if, like me, it is a track that you listen to frequently (in my case meditations for sleep and relaxation) then the time is worth it.  I will mess with automator later to see if there is anyway to script this!  Then, less work for me and more for my mac.
    Here are the steps:
Select the file from your Podcast folder.
Change all data you need -- "artist," "album" etc...
Make a copy of the cover art for this file by dragging it to the desktop.
Select the Advanced -> Convert ID3 Tags menu item.
Check ID3 tag version, and select "v1.0" from the drop-down menu.
Drag the file to the desktop (this will make a copy of the MP3 on the desktop)
Delete the file from the iTunes list.
Drag the copy of the file you have on the Desktop back into iTunes.
Search for the file in the Library, and add the cover art again to the file.
Now the file is out of the Podcasts folder and works like a regular MP3 file inside iTunes. You can re-add it back to playlists!

Why since updating my ip 4s can't I send or receive email?

Well, I'm not real sure. You would need to provide more details about what happens when you try? How did you set up the email, who is the provider, what errors you get when you try to get or send mail?

You can't send SMS or text messages to a non-Apple phone (such as an Android, Windows, or BlackBerry phone), because the messages are sent as iMessage

Yes, you can. I do it many, many times a day. If you're trying to send a message to someone who used to have an iPhone and who didn't disable iMessage before switching phones, they will need to unregister their number with iMessage:
    https://selfsolve.apple.com/deregister-imessage
You also need to have SMS enabled with your carrier to send messages to non-iPhones.

  • Updated OS to 10.1.0.4181 and can no longer send texts

I got prompted for a BB10 OS update to version 10.1.0.4181. I downloaded and installed the OS without any issues, took about 25-30 minutes. Now I can no longer send or receive text messages (every other feature seems to be working fine, including email and calling). Anybody else have this issue? How can I resolve this?
What happens is: every single conversation I had is still in the text log/hub however, when I select any previous message or try to compose a new one, it automatically chooses my last text, opens up the conversation which appears blank and when I type, the keyboard pops up however the text field remains under the keyboard (cannot see it) and the send button is not working. Any help is much appreciated!

I am so frustrated with Blackberry Z10.  My text will not work either and I have tried to restart my phone, take my battery out etc many many times and it still won't work.  I have always bought blackberry, but with this
inconvenience, I will probably never get a blackberry again.  My phone was working fine until I did the update.  I was told to restore my phone to factory setting and I did that, but I lost everything on my phone, yes, I did backup my files, but it took over an hour to restore my phone and then I had to redownload everything I had saved, and I lost any progress I had on the games I had downloaded.  My main purpose for my phone is texting and all I get told, is Blackberry is working on a fix.  Well its been over a month and nothing yet.  I find this extremely annoying.  My bf has a iphone and I am just about willing to use his phone.  Its sad that I paid over $500 for  a phone that I can not use, and there is no compensation at all, just "wait until blackberry comes out with a new update". So frustrated.
You're doing something wrong here it should be hard, I'm on the same OS update.
When you did update? did you restore once the update was complete?

  • After updating to iOS6, I can no longer find the "little yellow man" in the MAP application and so cannot do a virtual tour of my destination or current position. Surely this feature has not been lost?

I have recently updated to iOS6. With this new version came the "new and improved" MAPS. One of the most important features i enjoyed on the previous version was the google map feature of being able to take a virtual look at your position or destination by using the "little yellow man". I no longer see this feature and am wondering what I am doing wrong. Obviously apple would not be so negligent as to remove this feature on purpose!
    Thanks
    Ian

That feature you mentioned is called Google Street View. As you see in its name, it has Google in it.
Apple is no longer working with Google for their map system, for many unknown reasons (we can only speculate). Therefore, it is normal that Street View is not included anymore.

  • Since updating to Lion I can no longer screen share on Snow Leopard

    Hi all,
I'm hoping someone might have some insight to the problem I'm experiencing with Screen Sharing.  I have two macs that I use - one is a Mac Mini 2010 Server model running Snow Leopard.  The other is a MacBook that is running Lion.
Since updating to Lion on the notebook, I can no longer access screen sharing through the Mac mini to the MacBook (Can't see the Lion screen through the computer with snow leopard).  I AM able to screen share the other way (see the snow leopard screen through the macbook running Lion).
It's aggrivating, in as much as these computers are on two different floors of my company, and being able to see the screen makes life easier.
I should also point out that I am able to successfully share the hard drives / files between both computers going back and forth (Snow Leopard to Lion and Lion to Snow Leopard) - it's just the screen sharing that no longer functions.  When I attempt to access the other computer screen it will act like it is signing in but just hangs and does nothing.
I know there is probably much more information that someone will need to help me solve this, but I don't know where to look.  But I'm hoping that with at least this much information you might be able to tell me where to look to get this corrected.
    Much thanks.

    If you want.
or maybe install Snow Leopard using the disc it came on with my Mac and just set it up from a Time Machine Backup on my external hard drive (since it works under SL)?
Did you install Lion on an empty partition, or did you upgrade Snow Leopard?  If you upgraded, I'd not recommend erasing it, since your backups are apparently gone.  It's doubtful Snow Leopard will recognize them.
It's not just backups on the drive either, there are other important things on there, so why won't they show?
Mixing Time Machine backups and other data is not a good idea.  See #3 in Time Machine - Frequently Asked Questions.  It sounds like the whole disk is corrupted.
I just really don't understand how this happened. Could it not be an issue with WD because they haven't issued firmware to support Lion yet?
If this is a simple external HD, connected by USB or FireWire, no, unless you installed some of WD's software on it.  That shouldn't prevent it from being seen at all, but anything's possible.

  • Since updating to 4.2, can no longer get my work email

Updated the iOS today and now my work email from the exchange server will not download. I get no notification. My AOL mail is still coming thru but I cannot get the work mails, which are the more important. Any ideas?

I strongly believe it must be something with iOS 4.2, since the people at my office that has not upgraded still can do it. That is both people with 3GS and iPhone4.
We are writing the exact same information when setting up the phones. Theirs just work and with iOS 4.2.1 its displays that "unable to verify account information".
I have tried both on 3G, Wifi at home and Wifi at the office.

  • Since updating my OS I can no longer play anything from iTunes on my mac.

I've updated to Yosemite but now nothing will play on my mac in iTunes.  Other videos, music etc seem to be fine but nothing in my library will play.

It's OK.  I've managed to cure that problem, only to now encounter another one.  Can't get my mac to recognise my iPod now. :-/
