After synched with PC with all songs transferred via iTunes, I verified all songs played perfectly at the PC. Once played IPOD NANO (6th generation) by itself, the song stopped after about one minute. This happens to every song. Why? I checked the IPOD NANO setting, but do not see anything need to be changed.

Assuming you are in a region where you are allowed to redownload your past music purchases, delete the broken files from your iTunes library, go to the iTunes Store home page, click on the Purchased link from the Quick Links section in the right-hand column, then select Music and Not on this computer. You should find download links for your tracks there.
If you don't see them straight away it may help to close and restart iTunes.
While downloading select Downloads in the left-hand column and make sure Allow Simultaneous Downloads is unticked.
If the problem persists, or that facility is not yet available in your region, contact the iTunes Store support staff through the report a problem links in your account history, or via Contact Support.

Open iTunes, and under View, select "Show Sidebar". The old sidebar you are used to will show up, and everything will work the way it did under the old iTunes.

Try a reset. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 seconds until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider.

My Ipod Nano 7th gen does this as well. It will pause randomly, then i will hit play again, will play for a minute, then pause again. Seems like it does it the most when hooked up with a cars AUX input.

It sounds like you have done some great troubleshooting for your iPod nano that is not responding. In this situation, if resetting it did not resolve, I would suggest restoring the iPod back to its factory settings and then sync your content back onto it from iTunes. 7th gen iPod nano won't turn on after disconnect. I loaded some new music, synced and ejected correctly. screen went black on unplug. Waited, did the button trick, didn't work. plugged it back in & it is recognized immediately. restored, resynced & ejected again. same thing-black screen w/ no response. Charged it overnight. ejected, screen then went to language setting. OK for English, eject & back to black on unplug. Switched ports for cable, tried eject thru PC...all resulting in dead nano after unplug. I really don't want to charge into the store & take it out on the poor kid who will catch the brunt of my frustration. anyone have a suggestion?

I would be concerned too if my iPod nano was not powering on. I found an article for the 6th generation iPod nano that has steps you can take for an issue like this (the only difference for the 7th generation iPod nano is the steps you will take for the reset. I included the steps to reset a 7th generation iPod nano below):
Will not turn on or screen remains dark
Connect iPod to power for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has enough charge to allow iPod to turn on.
If iPod does not turn on after ten minutes, try resetting the device while it is still connected to power. Reset the iPod by holding down the Sleep/Wake button and the Volume Down button for at least eight seconds or until you see the Apple logo appear.
If the Apple logo appears on the display, connect iPod to a computer and verify that it appears in iTunes and can play music. If iPod appears in iTunes and can play music, no further troubleshooting is needed.
If the screen remains dark and will not turn on, then your iPod may need service.

All the steps apply to the 7th generation except the steps for the reset. To reset a 7th generation iPod nano, use these steps:
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button for six seconds, or until the screen goes dark. The Apple logo appears after a few seconds, and then the Home screen. You may need to repeat this step.

How do I add songs from my purchase list to my ipod nano?

I am at my wits end! I have an Itunes account. I have songs I've purchased. I'd like to add and remove some that are currently on my Ipod Nano, but I can not seem to get that to work. It used to be simple, where'd I'd just drag the songs over to my Ipod that I wish to add. Now, that option does not seem to be available.I am working on a Windows 7 Toshiba laptop.
On the screen when I log onto ITunes, on the left is a list starting with purchased, Genius, playlist etc. When I plug my Ipod Nano up to the computer, it does pop up in the upper right hand corner, recognizing it's there, but that's all. If I click on it, it disappears. It I drag songs from play list to it, nothing happens. It's so frustrating. I have been stuck listeing to the same playlist for months now. I thought by creating a new playlist, while my Ipod was plugged in, it would sync the songs to it, but that didn't happen either.
I read that I need to go to Devices, but when I finally found that, that was of no help either. It almost seems as though it's not recognizing the Ipod.
Please help!

To what iTunes library is the nano normally synced? The iTunes library you use (i.e. all tracks are in a single iTunes library). An iTunes library in a different user account on that same computer? Another computer? We need to know your setup and scenario before we can offer intelligent advice.

Installing ipod nano on a windows computer after it has been used on a Mac

I am trying to get an ipod Nano to work on windows after it was originally synched to a MacBook.
I have iTunes 8, and we've already unistalled and reinstalled it once. iTunes recognizes the iPod, and says "iTunes has detected a Macintosh formatted iPod. You must restore this iPod before you can use it on windows." When I try to click the "Restore" button in iTunes, it generates an error message that says the iPod cannot be updated because I'm not connected to the iternet....but I am.
Ideas?

PS I know that sun's Jar files are supposed to be
executable on win32 platforms with JRE2 installed;
however, I tested it out on some computers with that
runtime installed(by the installer progrma from sun)
and for some reason or another, it didn't do anything
when I clicked on the jar archive...That's because you didn't have the main-class in the manifest file.
That's the easiest way, you have a jar and a double click on win and it runs.

Try the following to rule out a software problem.:
