TS4062 My 2 I-pod's will not sync to either of my computers.

My 2nd and 3rd generation will not sync to either my laptop the desktop.
They were working fine until recently.
Any help will be appreciated.

All I can suggest is this: Try on one phone...sync to create a current backup, once finished, hit the "Restore" button on the Summary Pane. This will restore the phone as a new device. Eject when finished...do not sync any content to the phone. Do things work now? If so, sync your content back to the phone, do not restore from backup.

Unchecking the birthdays option definitely knocked something loose - but iTunes still had old stuff listed.
I had good results with removing everything from the ~/Library/Calendars folder and emptying the trash (with iTunes & iCal) both exited. I started iCal and it was back to the default - as if I had never used it - but then for reasons I'm not totally sure of, everything showed back up. My subscriptions all reappeared and I had calendars of the same name as my subscriptions appear in the regular section. I deleted all those and then quit & restarted iCal. When I started iTunes, everything was perfect - now everything appears normally and everything syncs.
As always, YMMV.

I just got a Touch 32GB yesterday and ran into the same problem. I have two PCs in the house that I can sync my iPods on, but I normally use one that DOESN'T have an internet connection, so that the one that does is free for others to use ... a great argument and tension solution, btw.
Anyway, I hooked up the older "iTunes" PC to the net for a first-time sync with the Touch, and ran into this problem. First it kept detecting the Touch as an unidentified iPhone, then I couldn't sync my classic either. Then I found a post here about how when multiple USB ports running off same USB controller seem to screw with the Touch/iPhone syncing.
So I disconnected all but 2 of my USB 2.0 slots (the Touch & the Portable HD with my iTunes Library) and now it's working perfectly. I don't know if this will solve your problem, but it might be worth a try.

Hi, My name is Angelika, I have an iPhone 5 and an iPad mini.
I need help... Niether my phone nor my ipad will sync into iTunes. I have tried everything. I rest my phone I made a new account with iCloud, I updated iTunes, I uninstalled and re-installed iTunes, and nothing will work. My iTunes no longer acknowledes the fact that my devices have been plugged in. I've never had this problem before. I'm looking at evey guide on how to try to fix the problem, and everything that I have tried will not work becasue I don't have the opptions that it says I have. Like the "summary" button. I have never seen that button before and I can't find anything similar to it.
I can't even begin to say how frusterating this is. All I want is to sync my devices with my computer and I can't do it and I dont know why.
Please help me.

HT5278 I have downloaded this update and now my i pod touch will not sync with my laptop and all my songs and downloads have been lost off my i pod.

Since downloading the ios5.1.1, my ipod touch has been erased of all my songs and downloads. I have tried to sync it again and again but it wont sync with my laptop or my wifes. I havnt done anything different to what it sadi on the screen. I am not a happy chap ias i have over 300 songs and games which i have purchased. Can you please shed some light on this problem.

I pod touch will not sync with I tunes

My Ipod touch won't synch with Itunes any more. Get a screen saying to try again later. It gets hung up on step 2 of the sync operation. What could be causing this.

Step two is about backing up your device. Did you try to reset the iPod by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again?

I recently upgraded my iPhone 4S and iPad 2 to iOS 7. Now the music in iTunes will not sync with either device. Any thoughts?

I have tried several times to restore the devices and that didn't work either.

A bit more info for those of you reading this.... the problem seemed to be in iTunes. For each connected device , if I clicked on the Photo option I could no longer select the second radio button for limiting the photos by Events, Albums, etc. It was an all or nothing deal. But selecting all would cause the error.
So I had read the other forum posts about the "&" symbol being the cause of the problem. I went through iPhoto and made all of the changes. It did not work. I then looked at iTunes, using the AlbumData2.xml file listed in the other forums as a reference. I found one album with the "&". I edited that one. Still would not work. So then I spent 3 hours on the phone with AppleCare last week. I talked with 4 different advisors. None of them had heard about the "&" error from the forums. We tried everything in iPhoto including repair and rebuild. Finally we created a whole new library and reimported my master photos from my original one. Using this option would allow me to now check off that radio button in iTunes. BUT... I now lost all of my albums and events and would need to rebuid them. I was not happy. They agreed and we set up time to talk this week.
So today I talked with AppleCare again. They now have more info and said the problem has to do with iTunes and the new iPhoto 9.4. It does not like the "&" symbol anywhere in either iPhoto or iTunes. So they now have me going through everything in my iTunes library. Genre is OK but any other item cannot have " & ". I have several dozen to edit and will do it over the weekend and then restore my original iPhoto Library and see if I can finally get it all to sync. I will let you know how I make out, but apparently you need to eliminate " & " from every entry in iTunes and iPhoto.
Quality control is not up to par with Apple these days.

Thanks. We actually contacted Apple and they gave the same suggestion. Finally got it past the sync portion and have the phone activated. howeve, it did not transfer over contacts, notes, etc . . .

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

Windows vista will not synce with my apple nano

Has any one else found that their i pod nano will not synce or says at the end of the down load insert the disc and their is no disc called apple for help and they say sorry this ha never happend before...please help Brad
