Whenever I turn on my computer the ical icon always displays the date "July 17". I would like it to display the correct date. Is that possible and if so how do I set that up?
Yes. I read some other discussions regarding this and have just added the app to my start up list and checked "hide". I'll see if that works.

This will highlight /select all emails.

when it has finished - you do have a lot of emails :)
Right click on Inbox and select 'compact' - this removes all marked as deleted emails. -

TIATo do this you need to make your audio file an .m4a one, which will allow you to add chapter markers and images to the chapters. If you have a Mac the easiest way to do this is to use the podcast creation facility in GarageBand. There are a few other programs: search on 'enhanced podcast' to find some in Google.
When the podcast is created and accepted into the iTunes Store people will need to subscribe to see your images: in iTunes v11 they have to command-click (Mac) or control-click (Windows) on the small image at the top of the window while playing an episode: as this isn't immediately obvious you might want to make an announcement at the beginning telling them to do this.

The program doest enterpret my figures from the text file in the correct way since the numbers contain dots instead of commas. Is there a way to fix this in labVIEW, or do I have to change the files before reading them in the program? Thanks beforehend!
You must go in the labview option menu, you can select 'use the local
separator' in the front side submenu (LV6i).
If you use the "From Exponential/Fract/Eng" vi, you are able to select this
opton (with a boolean) without changing the labview parameters.

With 10.7.2 update iCal does not allow you to set "Reminders" by draging events from "All Day Events" into "Reminders" is there another way to do this instead of having to type out the entire reminder with date, time, and type?
With Lion 10.7.1. you where able to drag events from "All Day Events" into the "Reminders" bar to create upcoming reminders.Exactly the same question I was about to post!
Great being able to sync reminders (well overdue) however if I have to re-type a calener envent into reminders it's a waste of time!!
Come on Apple!!
Just need an option for the calender event to add to reminder or the old drag to add to reminder functionality back, Please??? -
It is beginning to shutdown with no warning more frequently. What can I do to locate the exact issue? My warranty has expired so I would like to get to the bottom of it without taking it in to an apple store.
I am currently learning how to do diagnostics on mac hardware but I am not a native mac user. It is unlikely that this is a software issue. Please, any input will be helpful.Try these in order testing your system after each to see if it's back to normal:
1. a. Resetting your Mac's PRAM and NVRAM
b. Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
2. Restart the computer in Safe Mode, then restart again, normally. If this doesn't help, then:
Boot to the Recovery HD: Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the
COMMAND and R keys until the Utilities menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and
after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears.
Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
3. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions: Upon startup select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions as follows.
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list. In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive. If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the main menu. Select Restart from the Apple menu.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo).
4. Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Reboot from the Recovery HD. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks from the Utilities menu, and click on the Continue button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.
Reinstall the 10.9.2 update: OS X Mavericks 10.9.2 Update (Combo). -
I was updating to the IOS 8 thru ITunes on my 4S when it came unplugged from the computer (dumb dog). Now the phone just has an image of plugging in to the ITunes icon and when I plug it in it says its in recovery mode and needs to be restored to original settings and I will lose all of my contacts/photos/etc. Is there a way to reverse this and just get my 'old' phone back with all of my stuff? I only have the free ICloud storage so I know most of my stuff will be lost. Yes I know..,hindsight is 20/20 on buying the backup. Help please!
In short. No, you cannot unsync. If you had a back up from your old iPhone you cand restore from a back up.
In iTunes go to Edit > Preferences > Devices > and select the latest back up.
Before you synced your phone did you have it set up with the PhotoStream or iCloud? The pictures would be saved there. Or if you had them sync to a file on your computer. -
I have the same photo in more that one event. I would like to only have the photo appear in one event.
Then do not import it more than once in the future For now you can simply delete one of them and empty the iPhoto trash

This means the iPhone was hacked to be unlocked. The 3GS was not sold in the US as officially unlocked.
Restoring an iPhone with iTunes that was hacked to be unlocked or installing a firmware update on an iPhone that was hacked to be unlocked re-locks the iPhone to the carrier the iPhone was sold as carrier locked when new. In this case, re-locked with ATT. -
I would like to designate a single device to control the Apple TV, but anytime another device enters and logs on it takes over the display and whatever is on that screne appears. Is there a way to set the Apple TV so this does not happen?

No. You can sign in and out of the different accounts on the phone and the iPad but you can't use automatic downloads with two different ID's and if you switch to another ID on a device and then you download past purchases using that ID, you will lock yourself out of the other ID for 90 days.

I've got a document , some 70 pages long that was made back in the late '80's with Pagemaker on an SEII mac. The docs are on 2 floppies, but I can't open them, because I can't find any application that can read the files. I've got other documents that go back to 1984, when I bought my first Mac, that I can't open, either. I'd like to be able to get these files into Pages and send them out to family once again. Any recommendations?
Thanks.No other application can open PageMaker files, only PageMaker. You'd need a copy of PageMaker (and license) and a Mac of ancient vintage, one with a floppy drive. The ancient Mac is needed not just to read the floppied but to run PageMaker which won't run on modern Macs.
Frankly, if you have a paper copy, scan it and start from that!
