TSQL to know if an update was run at a specific time

Hello,
I am using SQL 2008 R2 SE and would like to know if I will be able to trace with a tsql if a record in a table was updated from an older time. Like in table abc if a record was updated on jan1, 2014? Is this possible.
Since I am using SE i know I cant use features like change data capture.

Yes. Its an additional overhead. If  you've designed tables which has updatetimestamp field and you've logic to do update/Insert statement then it holds good in your case.
I hope this is not in your case hence triggers are the only way to capture the intended results.

    (before BPM) and then at 10 let all then start the BPMs

  • Schedule job to run daily at specific times

    Hello,
    Not sure if this is the correct forum to post my question. If not, please advise which forum to use.
    How can I setup a background job which runs daily day, but only runs between a specific time?
    Our request is to have a job to run daily between 0700 - 1700 - then end and restarts again at 0700 the next day. How can we do this?

    You need the use task manager for that.
    I suggest you look in the admin guide for more info.
    If I’m not mistaken, you need to enable in the application setting and then you can use it from the tools menu in the Workbench.

    You can "force quit" the App Store app.
    Click your Apple menu icon top left in your screen. From the drop down menu click Force Quit. Select App Store then click Force Quit.
    You can force your Mac to turn off by holding down the power button until the screen goes black. Wait a few seconds then restart normally.

    I have a Reporting environment where the tables get populated by selective information from production database through batch scripts. These tables have become HUGE over time and the management wants to know if any user is using the table or else drop them. A USER will only issue a SELECT command and is not responsible for any INSERT/UPDATE/DELETE so querying the table DBA_TAB_MODIFICATIONS isn't of much help.
    My question is: Is there a way to find out if any of the tables under concern had been queried (using SELECT) in the recent past???

    Best option is to use fine-grained auditing and once collected information you can drop that policy ; Using full fledged auditing will be an overkill.

    I seen suggestions like making a registry entry, or making an entry in the application specific settings file. But what's the best practice? I want to do some custom tasks if that is a first run.
    Also, I am deploying my application using per machine MSI installer. So un-installation not deleting the user specific config files that's get created under AppData.

    Whenever possible I prefer to avoid the registry. The following works once per user where we see if a specific folder exists or not, if it does not then do first time initialization work then set a setting in the project which causes a user config file to
    be written to the location for storing user settings per user. 
    You first need to create a setting in the project, in this case I did

    contact them to see if they provide unlocking and if you qualify.
    If you can get that far, what does it say when you look at

    I have a headless server. If it fails to shut down I want to run script that would force it to shut down.
    The shut down script I have.

    However if I would like his to execute at lets say 24.00 hours what would I need to do to have that happen?
    Do I need to have it run to do so?

    See I do not want to use iCall to execute it as this might be the reason the shut down failed in the first place (the server sometimes hangs on shut down as a programme wants a confirmation). and than the script does not run (is what is happening at the moment if I simulate a hanging program)

    I am and yes no issue as the server is doing its stuff 'serving'. if it hangs on lets say an email, it wil send it again next time it is up as Mail has it already in the outbox.     I need to know if an update was run or if the record was not found....  is there some way that coldfusion can use that traps success/fail resoponses from mysql [linda like myquery.RecordCount ]?
    basically I am trying to update a row, if no row was updated - the record must not exist so I then need to do an insert...

    Hi,
    try to change the output : instead of print after save, put print with external transaction.
    after this, go in VL71 and ask for print your transaction. You will have a dump, and you will be able to activate debug to see where you are, and what appends exactly.
    in VL02n --> print in background, so update process error --> SM13
    in VL71 --> print in foreground, so just error .. you could debug (more easily)
