Tunning - Select
I have a applicaation that generate the SQL:
SELECT U_.OBJECTID, t.globalid FROM SDE_UUID_TEMP$ t LEFT OUTER JOIN (SELECT b.OBJECTID, b.GLOBALID FROM GIS_USER.FE_TRECHO b UNION SELECT a.OBJECTID, a.GLOBALID FROM GIS_USER.A132 a) U_ ON t.globalid = U_.GLOBALID WHERE t.registration_id = 132
This query execution is so long and I am having problem with this. The field GLOBALID is indexed and I don´t know how I can improve the performance!
Thanks!
Damata
The field GLOBALID is a CHAR(38 BYTE) and the application use this field as unique key. This field is used in all join tables. It was created two weeks ago and after that my process is to long time. Before create the field GLOBALID, the application used a OBJECID NUMBER(*,0) field and I didn´t have problem with perfomance.
I can´t change the globalid, so I need to improve the performance, but I don´t konw what I must do!
The plan execution is bellow:

How does I tunes select the next oldest video to synch on IPhone???
Hi,
I hope someone can help. I have got tons of TV episodes in my I tunes. They are all tagged with their proper season, episode number, episode ID and play count. I also have ITunes configured to sync the three oldest unplayed video's to the phone. This way, I always have the next three episodes of whatever on the phone ready to go. That's the theory anyway.
On some shows though, ITunes insists on syncing the totally wrong episodes. For example, Episode 2, 3 and 4 of Alias should be whats on the Iphone, as I have watched episode 1, (and yes, the playcount on episode 1 is set to 1) But, when I sync, it will sync episoes 2, 15, and 22 for example. Looks totally random. The only fix I can find is to configure ITunes to sync only checked items, and then check episode 2, 3, and 4. Then they will sync. This works, but it's no longer automatic, and effectively bypasses the setting where you can choose to sync the three oldest unplayed episodes. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Phone 3G (2.1 firmware) , and MacBook Pro
Lee BuskeyHave the same problem, but it is with episodes of +Star Trek: Voyager.+ I can see no pattern or logic to the eps that iTunes syncs to the device. Like you, I have made sure all episodes are perfectly tagged with seasons and episodes. Maybe "most recent" and "least recent" are determined by the timestamp when the ep was added to the library and have nothing to do with ep numbers.
BTW, "most recent" and "least recent" . . . What about the good ol' English adjectives newest and oldest? Is someone at iTunes getting paid by the word? -
Airtunes issues - Cannot select Remote Speakers
I bought a new MacBook and am running Mac OS X (10.5.7) and using iTunes 8.2.
Previously I was able to play music through my remote speakers connected to my airport express using airtunes. With my new laptop, iTunes shows my speakers but they are greyed out and I can't actually select them. I can only select "Computer"
My iTunes preferences does have "Look for remote speakers connected with Air Tunes" selected.
Any ideas why it shows the speakers/base station but is greyed out and I can't select them?I'm having the same problem with a G4 laptop running 10.4.11 and iTunes 8.2. I've tried random stuff like reconnecting the speakers to the Airport Express, restarting iTunes, renaming my airtunes speakers, etc. Some of this is obviously just desperate attempts to feel productive. If anyone can help figure out why I can see the name of the speakers on the menu in iTunes, but can't select them (they're grayed out) - I'd be stoked.

How do I share/link selections on web site forum I joined?
I have memberships on several forums like dating site, financial advice etc.
It has a place to add music to my profile
But whenever I try to add it I go to itunes and it shows my purchases but then when i click it says no selections found? Is it because it has to be in the form of mp3 (according to site). What form are i-tune selections in? If its not mp3 how do I make them work on a site requiring mp3.
I AM OBVIOUSLY DUMB/CLUELESS WHERE MUSIC FORMATS ETC ARE CONCERNED
PLEASE HELP THANKSAt the time I purchased my selections I was a relatively uneducated (and still am) music rube. As such I wasn't on any forums to see any of your warning posts, unfortunately.
If I might ask then, I have downloaded but never listened to all my itunes and/or music to a PSP (play station portable). Is there any point in me trying to listen to them?
I do not get the concept of where the music is on my computer. Are the selections I got from Amazon and from my own CDs in the same place as the ones I got from itunes?
I haven't listened to anything and don't know what is on my PSP as i haven't figured that part out yet, how to connect it to use.
Can I used the PSP in the same way as an Ipod?
This whole thing with itunes does (excuse me) SUCK. I AM TOTALLY confused about formats.
Will an Ipod hold other formats or only itunes? can i put itunes on a psp and have a usuable product.
I think by the time I figure this out I will probably have expired from this world so I'm not sure its worth the effort.
I recall reading something somewhere about the decision of Apple to do the 30 cent RIPOFF thing but at the time it didn't make any sense about what it was all for, yada yada.
Maybe I should just write it off to a big expensive mistake.
I would think there might have been some class action lawsuits to protest (as I understand it when I purchased the itunes the 30 cent deal had not been invented yet so that's sort of like selling someone something and then a year later saying by the way I have a remote lock on that car I sold you and if you don't send me $300 I'm going to fix your car so it will only run in the garage and not on the highway?????
I'm going to have to quit soon as I can feel my frustration and annoyance level rising by the minute.
Not young anymore and I'm feeling older by the minute.
I remember how frustrated my grandmother (DECEASED many years agoo) was (she was deaf so hard to communicate) when we wanted to take a video of her back then with the early whatever equipment it was. She finally got frustrated and threw her hands up in the air and went back inside the house leaving the video person SOL.
I HEAR YOU GRANDMA AND I VOTE WITH YOU! -

Songs not playing on iPod Touch
I upgraded my iPod Touch 4G to iOS 5. I had trouble with apps but they are fixed now. My problem now is music. It retained my data but some songs won't play. I didn't buy them on iTunes - they are from an older library when I didn't have iTunes. Now it just plays the next song and it's very irritating. They play on my computer and I haven't changed the file location. Any tips?
Not sure if your issue is the same I had: not playing tunes, playing the wrong tune, skipping ahead several tunes, selected song and playing song not matching. Here was my fix:
Altered from original solution from Emily P:
Okay, mine now works here is what I did.
plug in the iPhone, iPad etc
in iTunes select the phone or iPad
Under Summary uncheck "Sync with this....."
Under "Music" uncheck the "Sync Music"
Sync
Let it remove all the songs, dont worry it will come back no problems.
Once that is all done all the music on the phone or ipad should be gone.
Now check them both back on, sync, and everything should copy back onto it.
Working now !!!!! -
Archlinux 2.6.27 on HP nc6000, bad performance
Hello guys.
I have a problem with performance on my laptop. I have tried several things but it didn't help. I'm using newest xorg, kernel, xfce and open ati drivers from arch repo. My graphic card is ati mobility 9600. I have noapi option on kernel load. The problem is that everything is working bit slowly. I was using modified slackware before and everything were fine with older versions of xorg, kernel and driver. So i think this is the problem.
Here's my dmesg:

Any ideas? Maybe somone has this notebook? Maybe its driver problem? But in glxgears i have about 1,1k FPS and also i have direct rendering.
I wish you could help me. Thanks anyway.
Last edited by areiks (2008-12-21 21:46:46)Hello guys.

ITunes 11 Autofill Not Working On iPod Shuffle
I had to reinstall iTunes 11 following a reinstall of Windows and now iTunes will no longer "Autofill" my iPod Shuffle.
Formerly, Autofill would randomly refill my iPod Shuffle with tunes from my iTunes library, but it no longer wiill.
When I select "Autofill" the status bar at the top indicates it has begun a synchronization and iTunes seems to "hang" at that point. I am never presented with the screen showing the "random" tunes selected or showing them being updated on my iPod Touch. After some bit of time, iTunes reports that it could not add any more songs to my IPod Shuffle because there was no more space on it.
As of now, my iPod Shuffle is "stuck" with the tunes it had on it before I reinstalled iTunes as part of a Windows reinstall..........the Autofill feature of iTuned 11 doesn't appear to be working.
I've worked on this for hours and hours and tried every combination of settings I can think of with innumerable reboots to have Windows 7 re-recognize the iPod Shuffle. (It disappears following the "hang" of iTunes 11. I'm out of ideas and have no more time to expend on this. Oh....and it will not let me reset my iPod Shuffle back to factory state eitehr.
QUESTION: Does anyone know how to "fix" this............or is this a bug in the current release of iTunes 11?Hello,
I have the exact same problem as you do. I tried updating iTunes to the latest version (10.0) and my iOS on my iPod Touch (2nd generation, 8GB) to the latest version (4.0.2) and unsyncing all of my apps to see if they were conflicting with the top tens list somehow. However, my top tens list is still blank/empty.
Let me know if you find a fix.
Thanks -
[Regression] KDE4 does not load anymore after recent kernel update.
Hi,
I have updated my system to latest packages and now KDE4 does not load. i get a Blank Screen.
I can't reach virtual terminals(I tried ALT+F1 to F11, but no response)
Control + ALT + BACKSPACE does not work.
even magic SysRq key(Alt+SysRq+REISUB) has no effect.
So I had to hard reset my machine. somehow I managed to get logs.

I am working as a junior DBA. I tried to tune a query using SQL Tuning Advisor that is with DBMS_SQLTUNE.I have created the tuning task successfully with DBMS_SQLTUNE.create_tuning_task.But when i execute the tuning task with EXEC DBMS_SQLTUNE.execute_tuning_task() i got an error like
SQL> EXEC DBMS_SQLTUNE.execute_tuning_task(task_name => 'rep_three');
BEGIN DBMS_SQLTUNE.execute_tuning_task(task_name => 'rep_three'); END;

I tried to execute DBMS_SQLTUNE as DWH user.I have granted the advisor,DROP ANY SQL PROFILE,ALTER ANY SQL PROFILE,CREATE ANY SQL PROFILE privileges and DBA roles to the DWH user. The way i ran DBMS_SQLTUNE is, first i logged in as DWH user and i tried to execute the query for getting the SQL_ID for the query. For getting the SQL_ID i selected the SQL_ID column value for the DWH user session from v$session.I kept that query executing and meanwhile i opened another session as DWH user and created the tuning task as follows
DECLARE
l_sql_tune_task_id VARCHAR2(100);
BEGIN
l_sql_tune_task_id := DBMS_SQLTUNE.create_tuning_task (
sql_id => 'b65fj39dkkb9v',
scope => DBMS_SQLTUNE.scope_limited,
time_limit => 3600,
task_name => 'rep_three',
description => 'Report Tuning');
DBMS_OUTPUT.put_line('l_sql_tune_task_id: ' || l_sql_tune_task_id);
END;
/The creation of tuning task was successful.And i executed the tuning task as follows
EXEC DBMS_SQLTUNE.execute_tuning_task(task_name => 'rep_three');The above mentioned errors came when i executed the tuning task.
I am also adding the query which i have tried to tune

Using Captivate 6, is it possible to have a playbar that the learner can use to adjust the volume of the audio? I know it is easy to get the mute button to turn audio on or off, but it does not adjust volume. There is a variable, cpCmndVolumet, but I don't know how that could be incorporated into the playbar.
More clear view -
From your desktop application list go to Profile -> Advanced -> highlight the active profile -> click Menu then Edit -> highlight Calendar (or any other item as required) and hit trackball set the following -
Out of Holster : Tone

Burning CDs yesterday with nary a glitch. Suddenly start receiving error that "Songs in this playlist will not fit on one CD". The problem is this list in question is LESS TIME than previous lists? So why I am getting this message now AFTER burning other CDs with MORE time on them? Thanks for your help! [email protected]
I think what has happened is that we have been switched to an MP3 happy world with the advent of IPod and IPhone - whether we want to switch or not.
I have been using ITunes for years, always burn the same way using the same tunes and audio files, uploaded the same way. This has been a no-brainer process I can do in my sleep. Suddenly my selections are too many for the CD, the title ends up being one I used sometime before and not the current playlist title.
I decided to use an MP3 converter for a couple of wav files I had imported from a lecture, thinking that the wav files were somehow way too big to burn to one CD. This was even though the total time for the two wav files I was burning fell under the maximum amount the blank CD would hold.
As it turns out, they burned just fine when I chose to make an MP3 CD out of them. But of course, when I attempted to make an MP3 CD out of some other tune selections, they would not burn because they had not been converted to MP3.
Now I figure that those who are busy making ITunes updates have either forgotten or rationalized that NOBODY would just want to make a simple audio CD anymore. After all, who would want just 17-20 songs on a CD when you can get 150 on a CD or billions on a thumb sized IPod?
And the funny thing about it is that my wav files were smaller (at 57mg) than my resultant MP3 files (at 80mg), although the playing time is listed as identical for both (1.4hrs). Imagine that.
To make the conversion, I used some freebie download from the Apple site called Switch. Now I don't know about you guys - but probably so - I have over 1000 tunes and audio files in my ITunes library. This is going to be big fun switching everything over to MP3. Must we? Or shall we wait on another ITunes update - and next time - really read the puppy before installing - to see if we want to tinker some more with that which was working just fine before.
Try the conversion and see if it works for you.

When I first bought my ipad and connected it to my PC ten years worth of photos were downloaded ont ipad. It is now full! Cannot delete them as they were not taken with the ipad. Can anyone tell me how to delete them? Apple Store been very unhelpful.
Many thanksphotos that were synced to the pad can only be deleted by re syncing. When you do the resync, on your computer running i tunes, select the photo tab, and uncheck anything you do not want put back on your pad.

Since I downloaded version 9.2 of i-tunes I have been having trouble when burning a playlist. It goes through the regular motions - it checks for my playlist, starts the burn, going from the first song to the last. However when the disc is burned it is in a completely different order. It is if i-tunes selected its' own playlist order of songs. Any ideas.
HeavyThank you! The website is great and easy to follow!!!
So...
I went through all my music again and made sure things matched up, and if it didn't match up I fixed it...I created a playlist with the 'fixed' music...synced music by playlist only
But then I discovered something else...I went to download from iCloud, to see if I could at least get the purchased albums on my phone. The music seemed to download ok, but when I went to play the music, it started in the middle of the track and then wouldn't play continuously.
I'm not 100% sure, but I may have had music issues prior to the iTunes, iPhone and now iCloud updates. My apple service plan is expired, any further suggestions? Do you think taking my mac and my iPhone in to the Genius Bar is my only option now?
Thanks again!!
