  • How do I turn off apps running in the background on iOS7?

I just updated my iPhone 5 to iOS7.  How do I turn off apps running in the background? Double tapping the home button and turning each one off doesn't work on the updated iOS.

Double click the Home button and "slide" the open apps 'UP" with your finger, they will disappear.

They changed it a bit, but you can still close apps. Double click the Home button to pull up the currently running apps. Side scroll over to the app you want to close, then swipe up on the app *window* (not the icon at the bottom).

Very few apps run in the background.  Those that do should have a  way to stop them from within the app.

My iPad is low on memory and it says to turn off apps running in background . How do I do that

    Hello Skittles1202
It sounds like more of the storage of your iPad is full. Plug it into your computer and check in iTunes or on your iPad go to Settings > General > Usage and it will sort out in order of what is taking up the most space. Once you figure that out you can either delete what is not needed or import any photos that you may have to your computer. If you want to close out any application that you may have open previously, then double tap the home button and then swipe up on any app that you want to close

  • How do you turn off apps in ios 7 to save battery?

in old OS, you could turn off apps to save battery. how do you do it in new OS7?

To close out apps, simply double click the home button and instead of holding down the app icons and clicking on the X mark in older versions, you have to swipe the app window up and away.
Also you can save on battery by turning of background app refresh from settings, as explained in this article .... http://nyacomputing.com/how-to-close-apps-in-ios-7-and-save-on-battery/

  • How do I turn off App Notifications

Hi,  I was wanting to know how I would go about turning off App Notifications. I'm going abroad and I know that using data roaming can quickly mount up but one tip given is to disable your App notifications of updates/posts. For example my email App gives me frequent updates so I'd like to turn off App automatic updating until I chose to access it.  How would I go about doing that?

Better to restrict background usage of mobile data:- Go to Settings -> Data Usage -> tap on the triple dots on the top right corner of the screen -> Choose "Restrict background data" This will prevent any app from using mobile data unless you open it and ask for updates.

  • Can you turn off apps that you've opened so the battery lasts longer?

With the new upgrade to 7.0.2 can you turn off apps you've opened so the battery lasts longer?

    Two things:
In iOS 7 to close apps now you double click the Home button, then slide up on the cards for the apps you'd like to close.
Next, to actually deal with the battery use issue and open apps, you can go to Settings>General>Background App Refresh and turn off the apps you don't care to have working behind the scenes.

    Correct:
    Double-click the Home button.
Swipe left or right until you have located the app you wish to close.
Swipe the app up to close it.
