Turning gprs into GPRS
I recently switched to a Blackberry while in Hong Kong when I broke my old Nokia. The phone they sold me was branded for Orange UK, but new and unlocked. I got back to Germany with it, and called and added the Blackberry package to my phone. The data applications I installed in WiFi mode work fine.. mostly. The Blackberry browser says it "Only works in WiFi mode" despite the fact I have my phone set to use the Data plan exclusively. Also, my stock trading application will not work until my phone is in GPRS mode, and O2 is also saying that I can't register on the blackberry enterprise server until my phone is in GPRS. So long story short, it needs to be GRPS... however I can't do anything to make it switch, and 5 calls to O2 support and a twice reset to factory default phone later, it won't make the switch. What can I do, short of throw the phone away and never waste my money on a Blackberry again?

As a Blackberry Suppot for a carrier in Australia, I can tell you that this IS an issue with the Carreirs service.
They should check your PIN status on the Blackberry Relay, to see if your device is connecting, or attempting to connect.
On your Handset, go to:
Options:
Advanced options
Host Routing Table
You should have some entries here. if you have No Entries then the SIM Card is faulty. otherwise:
Click the BB button to bring up the menu.
From the menu, select Register Now.
Go back to Messages and you should have a Blackberry Registration message. If you do then the signal should now be in GPRS. if it isnt then there is a fault with the Carrier communicating your Devcei details to RIM.
The Register now communicates your Handset(SIM card and H details are sent) to RIM to allow the BB data connection, but the carrier must send the SIM Card details to RIM to allow that SIM Card to connect over the BB network.
If there is still no luck then the carrier will need to put a requets into RIM support to check their logs to see why RIM isnt allowing it to connect.

To resolve your difficulties you will need to go to the Language & Text preference pane. Once there click on Edit List and remove all languages besides English. You will then likely need to remove and reinstall the trial as the language setting I believe is set during the installation process. -

I have scanned some black and white negatives into my computer(iMac) where they are stored on the hard disc as positives.When I import them into iPhoto to print they turn back into negatives.How do I turn them back into positives?
That's because you scanned them as B/W photos and iPhoto 08 doesn't support the grayscale color profile. You can either rescan them as color photos or export them as originals out of iPhoto to a folder on the desktop and applhy this Automator application, Convert to JPG and Embed sRGB Profile, on them and then remimport into iPhoto. You can download it from Toad's Cellar . Be sure to read the warning on the website about not applying it on your only copies.

When I define a variable in BO it automatically turns it into a detail
i have made a user prompt in my report
so the user can input a value that does not exist in universe so i can use it as condition or a filter,
i have done this by using the followiing condition in the query
object = object
or
object = ToPrompt("Give number")
As you can see by the logic this condition will ALWAYS be true because object = object is always true. So this logic will not impact the rest of the query it will just allow to enter any value in the user prompt
in the report when i try to create a new variable
=ToNumber(UserResponse ("Query 1 with NEW_UNIV" , "Give number"))
it automatically turns it into a detail and i cant change it to measure or dimension.
is there a way to fix this

Greetings from a Photoshop Newbie. I need a computer, preferably a Mac laptop, with some serious processing power. I take photos with a Pentax 645Z; files are 50MB raw. I upload from Adobe Bridge and manipulate the photo, sometimes turning them into files in excess of 250MB. I cannot resize as the large files are needed for enlargements. Have all sorts of problems trying to manipulate, add effects and saving most large files. I need some serious processing power. Can anyone suggest what Mac i should purchase? I thank you in advance for your help :-)
It sounds as if you're having some system-related problems now, unrelated to processing power as such. In particular, a buggy video driver can cause everything to slow to a crawl.
Medium format files are big, true, but not so big as to cause significant slowdowns on a normally functioning and reasonably current computer. A laptop will always be slower than a well-equipped desktop system, though. Mac vs PC plays no part in this, performance is unrelated to platform.
Bottlenecks are different in ACR and Photoshop, so that should give you a clue. ACR is computing-intensive and mostly limited by CPU speed. Photoshop, however, is mostly bandwidth-intensive and mainly limited by memory and disk throughput. It's also sensitive to GPU issues. -
How do I create a text style in CC libraries? Every time I drag and drop text into library form Photoshop or illustrator it turns it into a graphic.
If I select the text layer and click the text style button in the library it just creates a new text style for Myriad Pro 12pt - I'm not using that anywhere in my document.
Can anyone help? Seems like a bug to me as I'm trying what the video tutorials are saying.

Hello Adobe! People use transparency on website logos.
Hello, cocteau! What you're calling "transparency" is inherent to object-based vector artwork. But web browsers don't support object-based vector artwork, except via file formats like Flash and SVG, or by viewing as a PDF in a plug-in version of Reader. Raster imaging in general only supports "transparency" by either indexing a specific color (i.e.; "don't display this color", as in GIF) or including an alpha channel (i.e.; "blend all the pixels with existing pixels, based on values from this extra channel", as in PNG). It's all in the raster file format you use, cocteau; it has little-to-nothing to do specifically with Adobe software. Such things are among the most basic matters understood by someone doing web design.
When I export an eps from .ai file, and open the eps in photoshop,...I save as a gif for the web, it goes back to the original problem...creates jagged text. I"m giving up on this garbage...Thanks a lot adobe! Lower the price of this software if this is all that can be done.
Once it leaves Photoshop (or Illustrator, or whatever) as a non-proprietary raster image format, it's all about what the format can do re "transparency". You can do this stuff with most any graphics program. You should read about basic web design and the differences between raster and vector content, rather than rant.

Can Media Encoder take an image sequence in the watch folder and turn it into a video file?
I'm using OSX and Media Encoder 6 (from premier 6) and can't figure out how to make the watch folder take a .jpeg or .dpi sequence and turn it into a single video file.
I tried copying all the stills into the watch folder, that made 60 individual video files (one for each image).
I tried making a folder inside the watch folder, and copying all the images into it.. to which Media Encoder did nothing.
What am I missing? Will Media Encoder take image sequences and render them out as a audio-less video for me?

Still Image Sequences are not supported as source footage through Watch Folders. If a set of still images is placed in the folder being watched, each individual still file will be added as a separate item to the Queue rather than than the entire sequence as a single piece of footage.

I want to know how to turn a word document into a jpeg so I can put the document on Facebook as a picture. I have made posters and if I do a print screen they are unable to be read, or if i turn it into a PDF there is no save as jpeg??

I just bought ink replacement for a whopping $563 which is way too much. My ink supplies have run out. I replaced the Balck ink but the printer is stuck in the "replace supplies" error w/ orange light flashing. As for printing in B&W only, I don't think this printer has that capability, at least from what I've read.

Check System Preferences>Accessibility and make sure 'invert colours' isn't ticked under 'Display'.

You will need to do that by syncing them with a computer and then syncing the computer with the iPad.

How can I easily take an email in Apple mail and quickly turn it into an event or a ToDo?
