Turning Off User Reviews?

Hi! Forgive me if this has been asked before - I did do a search of the forum before posting and didn't see this topic.
Is there a way to turn off the new User Reviews feature in the iTunes Music Store? I know I can choose not to read the reviews, but I find it incredibly distracting that they sit right in a highly visible area. Perhaps it's rude of me to generalize, but I find most of them to be poorly written and say very little of any informative value. In fact, most of them read like they were written by children and "tweens".
If I can't currently turn them off, can anyone offer a way to request of Apple that this feature be disabled? I found a feedback form, but it only allowed me to request the addition of music.

Hello,
There's currently no option to turn off these reviews, and I do agree that most of the reviews are useless. Rating them as such will push those "bad" ratings further down in the list while better ratings will bubble to the top.
In the meantime, I'd suggest submitted feedback to Apple and hopefully it'll be considered in a future release! You can submit feedback here. Note: there's no drop down for specific iTunes requests, but it should be redirected to the Apple engineers as long as you make that clear in the message.

Can not turn off user account

         I am using a Windows 7 Home Premium computer trying to turn off account settings wishing to download a program.  I am unsuccessful doing the following:
        Go to User accounts in control panel -- Choose Change the account control settings- In the account control setting dialog box I click on Tell more about user account control settings. In the help and support window I enter disable user accounts. With a returning and clicking on Microsoft Management Console.
         Which brings up the Console 1 Dialog box. I Select file and choose add/remove snap in. My directions tell me to click on Local user group -- click add-- and select local computer. Click finish and O.k.
        From there I get this error message
        Local user group: This computer is running windows 7 Home Premium. The snap in may not be used with this version of windows. To manage your account settings for this computer.  Use the user account tool in control panel.
        After clicking finish and ok. I am suppose to double click on users folder-- Right click on the user account --- select do you want to disable and choose Properties. On the general tab select Account disabled -- and click o.k. I manage not to get this far. I am new to this and trying to be as specific as possible. If anyone can please help I would greatly appreciate. Thanks.

In order to make the change you need to be logged in as a user with admin priveleges.
Go to the Control Panel. Click on user accounts.
Click on Manage another account
Click on the account you want to delete
Choose whether to keep files or not.
Select Delete account

Turning off Email Review...

Hi,
I am having an intermittent issue with Adobe Email Review. I am using Adobe Acrobat X. Usually I can send out a review to 1 or more persons, receive back the comments and then send it to additional people. However, I am getting a message occasionally that states: "This file cannot be part of an initiated review because it contains comments from an active email-based review. Please choose another." How do I get around this? Is there a way to end/turn off/close out a review and then re-initiate one?

Can't turn off user interface sound effects

Unchecking the box in system prefs has no effect at all. A few minutes later the box is checked again, and I have to keep hearing those annoying sounds. Any ideas why it keeps turning itself back on?

As some have noticed and posted other issues, [[https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1038464]], [[https://support.mozilla.org/questions/1038142]] , this relates to the Notification.
The notification is behind the sound and is controlled by System Preferences --> Notifications --> Thunderbird --> "Play sound for notifications". Tick that off and that's it.

HOW DO I TURN OFF COMPATIBILITY MODE IN VISTA?

Yes, I know this is more of a Vista question then an iTunes question but if anyone can solve this, I thank you forever:
I got a new computer that came with Vista on it. When I loaded all of my files from my old computer to my new one, I changed the compatibility settings for iTunes so that they said it would work under Windows XP. Now iTunes seems more Vista friendly, and I want to turn off that compatibility mode, (less "Accept" questions). Anyone know how to do this? I have checked MANY sites and can find guides to turn it ON, but not off.

I finally found how to turn off the user account control (this so generously provides you with all those annoying questions - just like the mac commercial - cracks me up that it's so true!) The only downside to turning off this functionality is windows puts a shield on your taskbar and tells you it should be turned back on - have to decide which is the lesser of the two evils. To turn off user account control:
1. Go to your control panel
2. Click 'User Accounts and Family Safety'
3. Click 'User Accounts'
4. Click 'Turn User Account Control on or off'
5. Uncheck the box and accept the warning.

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

After phone support from apple I ended up creating a new project and adding all 117 clips back in individually till I found out what clips flagged and would not allow me to export. I had 3 I deleted and replaced and everything works now 1hr after tedious work....

User Account Can't access internet once parental controls used, even after turning off parental controls

I set up a user account for my child. I am able to access the internet through firefox. I then set up parental controls and can NOT access the internet anymore. I turn off parental controls for that user account. I still can not access the internet from that account.

I can not sign into FaceTime and my firewall is turned off, help. I'm a Clear internet user, if that matters or helps.

I'm having trouble signing into facetime. Keeps saying to check my network, but the internet is fine and my firewall is turned off. I'm a Clear internet user and I'm not sure if that makes a difference or not.

there has been a big problem with facetime and imessage. The best solution for this case is to restore your device http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
Make sure you back it up. and I would set up facetime before you reinstall your backup and make sure its working.

I want to keep separate users but I don't want a password requirement to login for any user. How do I turn off the password requirement at login altogether?

Its not only a matter of other people, but also any software-based threats or even mishaps. For instance, there are some Terminal commands that can be executed by a program, script, or even another user that require authentication. If you do not have a password set then these can be executed directly with administrative privileges. Some of these can be disastrous to the system if used incorrectly.
I agree for the most part if your system is fairly isolated then this is not much of an issue, but there is the rare possibility of malware or simple user mistakes that a good password helps guard against.

Locked out of user after turning off file vault

I was told i had permission issues. I couldn't do simple things like copying files to desktop. Someone told me to turn off file vault. Did it. Now i can't access user at all. Keep getting same message,"...cannot access user at this time..." accompanied by an applications icon. All i really want from that user are my music and photos. Please help, my wife is going to kill me if i lose baby photos.

An update that may help you: I went to my Backups (created in Tiger before I switched) and restored some things from there. Unfortunately it wouldn't give me back everything (iPhoto Library all gone), but I did restore an older iTunes Library and some of my e-mails.
Were you using Backup before you lost everything?

Have you created another admin user? Go to system preferences click users and click the + to add a user; if you haven't already. Once you have another admin user other then the "test" user make sure you're signed out of the test user account. Sign in with the alternate ADMIN USER that you just created or had created already and go back to SYSTEM PREFERENCES and click the same USERS icon near the bottom. Now select the TEST user and click the - sign. This should prompt you if your sure you want to delete the user account. And your done.
New User created and Test User deleted... I hope this helps.

Having to turn off imessage to text other iphone users?

My friend who recently upgraded to ios7 has had to turn off iMessage in order to receive messages (texts) on her iphone; she could send messages, but she couldn't receive any from other iphone users. Her son, who has an Android phone could reach her before before she diabled iMessage, but anyone with an iphone she could not receive messages from. Has anyone else had this issue? If so, did you resolve it? How?
Apple really released this ios before thoroughly checking it out. In the long run it will hurt them in the wallet.

If you are talking about iMessage add an email address to Settings>Messages>Receive At that no one has in their contact for you, then change Settings>Messages>Receive At>Caller ID to that email. Your iMessage will appear to them as this email address.

I don't want the user to turn off history logging. Also don't want to allow privacy browsing.
