1. The password is sent over the HTTP - don't know why
2. Is there a crossdomain sulotion for communicating with twitter sever or i have to use PHP proxy?

Hi,
I downloaded and installed in FLEX 4 the sample to connect to Twitter existing in the Tour de Flex,
and I do not work, when I enter the username and password is put on hold with the clock,
if I try to go directly to the Tour de Flex the program made the same.
My username and password are correct in Twitter.
Does anyone know what can be the problem?

Solution is very simple, just uncheck the "Group items by category" to display last version of Tour de Flex feauture which is default checked
and if you uncheck the "Show only the latest versions.." you will see all other versions.

Twitter Feed Within A Flex/Air Application

I am attempting to advance an appilcation I've created so that it incorporates a live twitter feed i.e. when users access the application their own twitter feed is shown within it and is updated live.
I have no experience in using either twitter itself or how to incorporate twitter feeds into a flex/air application specifically and was wondering if anyone can tell me exactly what I'd need to do to achieve this?
A further addition my client has requested is the use of live images. The app itself is basically an interactive favourites menu with users clicking on and adding links to sites within the app. Each of these links is represented by an icon which is basically a screenshot of each site. I want to alter this so that these images change live AS the site themselves change so they are constantly up to date. Is this also possible at all and if so can anyone give me advice on how this could be achieved?

Thanks a lot. I've used another method that simply lets the user enter their twitter name and it loads their live feed. I suppose that way would work too though. Cheers.

How to Call a AIR application from Flex Application

Hi,
    I have Used AIR (Desktop application) in Flex Builder to Upload a File from a local path and save it it a server path.
I need to Call this AIR(Desktop application) from my Flex Application.... i.e
I am using a link button to send a event using Script and Forward that Desktop application from Flex Screen
But it doesnot load that (Desktop application) in Screen. Only Balnk screen is loaded from path

Flex 10 error 0x80240031 when upgrade to 8.1

I am facing this error code 0x80240031 while updating to 8.1 at 50%. I trying everything (download last windows update, command prompt and type/run: "sfc /scannow, Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth, change ISP and uninstall Antivirus).
My laptop Ideapad Flex 10 (Pentium processor 2.00 GHz, 2 GB RAM, Wondows 8 32-Bit)
Any new solution?

The IdeaPad Flex 10 supports Windows 8.1, but it is recommended you back-up your data prior to upgrading to Windows 8.1.
I cannot guarantee you will not experience problems. But I would take the following steps to perform the upgrade:
1. Back-up your data and important documents
2. Perform the Windows 8.1 Upgrade/Update
3. Install all Windows 8.1 drivers from: http://mobilesupport.lenovo.com/us/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/flex-series/flex-10-notebook-len...
4. Reinstall malfunctioning programs/software

Lenovo Flex 10 touchscreen stops working after 1 hour of use.

Just bought a new Lenovo Flex 10 from a retail and it works perfectly except that after an hour of use the touchscreen stops working, the computer still works ok, but only with the mousepad. The notebook came with Windows 8.1, and I haven't installed any program on it. I need an urgent response please, since i've been looking for days in the community and other support pages, and still can't get a satisfactory answer and the period to get the a refund are about to expire.

Welcome to the Lenovo Forums.
Once the Touchscreen stops responding, can you check the following:
1. Open System Properties and see if the Touch functionality is still there
- Link to picture (Touchscreen feature is not detected)
- Link to picture (Touchscreen feature is detected)
If the Touchscreen feature is detected, proceed to Step 2.
2. Press the Windows key‌ +R, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter. On the Device Manager, navigate to the Human Interface Devices section and uninstall anything that says HID-compliant device (this is the driver that controls the touchscreen). When finished, reboot the system and observe.
3. If the Touchscreen is still not working, hold the Shift Key and hit the restart button inside Windows and you should be able to see the image below then try to tap on the screen to test and observe. I
If the touch capability is still not functioning, I recommend you contact lenovo for service.

Hi,
I have a question about Adobe Flex. I have a project about preparing a digital content (i am planning preaper it at flash and compatible with SCORM 2004). I need to know that can i connect a content prepared with Adobe Flash CS4 to Flex?
And if yes, how can i do it. I dont know Flex much

Best practices for "designer - developer" interaction in Flex Mobile

Hi,
I'm starting development of a mobile software application and Flex Mobile is the platform I've chosen for that.
What is the best practice / recommended workflow for designer-developer interaction? For example in web application the designer provides HTML/CSS templates to the developer which integrates them in the Web Application. What is the analogue in Flex Mobile? What should I request as input from the designer?
I'll appreciate any hints, links, advises or previous experience on the topic.

Flex framework - software needed question

hi, and thank you for your replies in advance.
i'm a bit new to flex framework and flash.
I want to know what software and languages I would need for the following website or web application
I have some knowledge with programing and markup languages like:
c/c++, java
html/css/javascript
php/sql
Professional design experience with
Photoshop/illustrator
What i want to achieve is:
Build a rich internet application.
Unified layout that will start fast. very small loading time (less than 3 seconds including the background and menus).
I need a search and category filter (get input text and check boxes and send them to database and retrieve the query)
When an icon or button is clicked, data is dynamically retrieved and automatically updated (animation on the whole page or text/image area when an icon or button is clicked) (no page refresh)
Some caching or background downloads when the site is idle, but give priority whenever an icon is clicked.
Some animated charts and site stats.
Some animated images where you can click on a portion of the image to trigger some text/images on to the image like tips and help
Site updates send subscription members (rss, email, facebook, twitter)
If there is an easy way to update the site, rss, email, facebook account, and twitter account at the same time
Optional (I want to create a discussion board (forum like) integrated in the site)
Sorry about the rambling.
Now for the questions:
If I already have Flash cs5, do I need:
1-      Flex4 sdk
2-      Flash builder 4 (does it offer something not included in flash cs5, or is it just a better interface for programing)
3-      What does flash catalyst do
4-      If I’m not streaming video do I need the flash servers
5-      Do I need flash services
6-      When I finish the web application. How much work would it take to make a mobile (Android or iPhone maybe) and a desktop (adobe air) versions. Is it as easy as making a file export in different format, or just minor tweaks to make it work?
7-      Last thing, what references or books do I need?

As a new Flex user maintaining part of an existing project, I would say to be very cautious.
I haven't used robotlegs, but attempting to learn flex and robotlegs and convert part of an existing project to use it is a recipe for disaster.
In my experience companies are interested in quick results when in maintenance mode on existing projects and won't be interested in excuses when the new developer messes up an existing project by trying to introduce a framework they know nothing about.
Get comfortable with basic Flex. If you want to try RobotLegs, create a test project to play with.
Don't add robotlegs to a live project when you are not sure of either flex or the framework. Or if you do, start looking for your next job!

Twitter API authentication

HI, I'm making a flex mobile app which should shome some feeds with a certain hashtag.
After a long search i found the guide from adobe , build first mobile flex app pdf, with the twitter trends.
But i got stuck at excercise 3. I got an error from the API about ssl. Then I realized that the guide used the previous version of the API.
with the new version an authorization os needed but I have no idea how i need to do this in flex.
i'm a total beginner in flex and flash builder and hope that someone could help me.

Flex 15 brightness issue.

After upgrade the latest Windows 8.1 update (End Apr), the brightness adjustment are not function any more.
The brightness key at the keyboard and setting in the windows also not working.

Flex 2 15 - Need to reinstall Windows 8.1

Hi! I'm new here so be patients please!
I have recently bought a Lenovo Flex 2-15 and it came with pre-installed Windows 8.1. My supplier was Newegg.com.
Everything was great and beautiful, except I wasn't able to close the optical drive door. After a few more tries and tries, it, finely, closed. Now it's working just fine every time I use it, exactly as intended.
For a few day ago, I experienced some bad activity due to installing a plug-in which suppose to help me watch some online TV stations. It seems I got a virus or a maleware. Even with my updated antivirus, the system runs pretty "cloggy" and browsers (no matter which of the: IE11, Chrome, Firefox, Safary - all being up to date) are displaying a lot of ads, most of them are covering the page but you cannot see them. When ready to click on a link or just click on a free area with no link, they start to open in separate pages and make your work worst.
OK! This is not something too new or strange to me. But I really want to reinstall the OS and have it like it was in the beginning.
It is about a pre-installed version of Windows 8.1
I would go for Windows 8 as well, as I can update it to the v8.1 later and for free. All I need to know is:
HOW CAN I REINSTALL IT since I got no copy of OS when received the laptop?! No ISO image, no rescue DVD, no nothing or anything. Is there any process steps I have to follow?
Please, I need your help. Post here ONLY if you really know how to do it and did it before. Thank you so much in advance.
P.S.: 1. Don't try to advise me using the OneTouch Recovery Option or any kind or utility like this, since my computer is INFECTED with something.
P.S.: 2. I have already been uninstalling all browsers and clean the remaining files from Registry and after that to reinstall them back. Got the same situation with unwanted and hidden ads.

to reinstall the preloaded S you will have to recover the machine with the onekey recovery option in your machine which will reset the machine to teh factory settings if this failed you can use the microsoft reset tool and below you will find the detailed steps for bith of them
1-Onekey recovery
   -Shot down the machine tottaly
   -Connect the charger
   -Press on the Onekey recovery button on the right side next to the card reader slot
   -Choose system recovery
   -Choose restore from intial backup
   -Click next and then start
Note : This process will delete all the stat on the machine
2-Windows reset
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, tap Settings, and then tap Change PC settings.
(If you're using a mouse, point to the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, click Settings, and then click Change PC settings.)
Tap or click Update and recovery, and then tap or click Recovery.
Under Remove everything and reinstall Windows, tap or click Get started.
Follow the instructions on the screen.

Flash CS6 requires trace from main timeline to embed flex assets

I've been repeatedly advised on twitter by the @CreativeCloud account to make a thread on this subject.
This only occurs with large projects that use a lot of memory. I have tried to recreate the problem with the minimum amount of code but it is not possible. This issue does not occur with only the flex.swc, a class file and a .fla project. Changing the value in jvm.ini makes no difference. Importing other swcs makes no difference. Please re-read this line before responding.
The issue: If I include flex.swc to use the [Embed] tag feature in a class file with Flash CS6, the feature will silently fail. The assets will return the value of null.This issue has existed since Flash CS5 dropped support for flex and has caused our company to lose hundreds of hours in programming workarounds for the problem. We are exceptionally disappointed in Adobe for encouraging use of [Embed] tags and then leaving us with scores of broken projects that cannot be compiled in the latest version of the Flash IDE.
However: this week I discovered that the problem disappears if I import the class on the timeline and trace() the value of any asset in the class. Importing the class is not the part that solves the problem. If I have the "omit trace" checkbox ticked, the assets still return null. It is only when the assets are fed to trace() that they begin to exist.
Think this through for a second.
The workaround for a critical bug in Flash is solved by trace(). "Hello World!" is the solution to the Flash IDE's ongoing mismanagement of memory.
I can't even begin to wrap my head around how stupid this situation is. Or even how much money has been lost trying to deal with the situation.
I don't even expect a workaround or solution in response to this because we already have a workaround - even though it is insane.

Flex 14D Windows 7 Drivers

Hello there!
I should have visited the productwebsite before spontaneously buying a laptop that seemed ok at first glance.
Beside the little drawbacks, like that the laptop comes with Windows 8.1 and the F-keys are only accessible via the additional fn key, it looked like a nice product.
The first thing I noticed back at home is, that there is no CD or any other physical backup of the OS/Setup.
Okay, I can live with that. I went back to the store and bought an external cd-drive to get rid of Windows 8.1
After installing Windows 7 I looked for drivers.
They are only for windows 8!

Well, I tried to install the win8 drivers, most of them work, except for the most important one: the Graphics driver.
Plus: I can't change my brightness anymore.
Is there anything I can do? I really want to use Win7 and not Win8.
Any help would be appreciated.
Since the laptop came with no serial key, CD or anything else, I can't go back to win8 anyway. I wiped the harddrive before installing win7.
TL;DR
Downgraded from Win8 to Win7 on my flex14D ideapad.
Are there any working drivers for it?

But in my opinion what you are trying to do is buying a Porsche, and then putting a 2hp engine in it. Windows 8 will give you a much better experience than Windows 7.

Flex 10 touchscreen doesn't work

Hi guys! I bought one week ago in Italy a Flex 10 with Windows 8.1...it works fine for like 20minutes, then touchscreen stop to work and I can only use the touchpad or mouse...then if I reboot the system the touchscreen works again and stops after 20minutes again..is it broken? needs to bring back to the shop?

2) Try to remove any USB attach devices to check for conflicts or potential interference (some USB devices could cause electrical "noise" that can affect touchscreen operation.
