Two Date Characteristics As An OR Condition For Date Range Input

Hello,
Here's the requirement. The user inputs a date range. In the query, we have two date characteristics. If at least one of the date characteristics falls between the inputted date range, then the row should show up on the report. This is essentially an OR condition. How can this be done?

hi,
just a tought... but worth a try.
1) Create an 2 Formula variables with User Exit.(ZF1 & ZF2)
2) These will be filled with data with SETP2(User Exit) from the user Entry Variable. One variable will have from date & the next one will have to date.
3) Then create 2 more Formula variables (ZR1 & ZR2) this time with replacement path for the 2 date you have and the create a global Key Figure with If Condition.
CKF's:
(( ( ZR1 >= ZF1) AND ( ZR1 <= ZF2 ) ) * (your vales)
repeat the same for the ZR2 also.

Hi Robin,
You can use function module DATE_CONVERT_TO_FACTORYDATE to check for a particular date. You need to pass Calendar ID to factory_calendar_id. You can see details of different calendar using Tcode 'SCAL'.

How to acheive between and condition for dates in prompts

can any one tell me how to achieve between and condtion in obiee 11g
i used like this,
i in the filter i put active date is between and put two presentation variables(pre_var1 and Pre_var2) and in prompts
is used to one prompt active date is between when i am passing the same date the result is not getting. the prompt that i used is set a presentation variable(Pre_var1) is it correct?

What i got from ur ques is that u want single record for every customer havin oldest start date and most future end date. If it is so then in ur update routine from source ODS to Target ODS try this code :
Sort data_package by customer startdate ascending enddate descending.
delete adjacent duplicates from data_package comparing customer.
after sorting u will have all records of a customer together with oldest start date and most future end date as first record. Delete will remove rest of the records for a customer from data_package.

Set condition for date to be valid

We've just implemented RC and I'm still very new in the tool. I hope to be able to take advantage of the many experts in this forum.
We have some services with longer delivery from the supplier. How do I set a condition to say that the earliest date the requestor can set in the form is, for example, 2 weeks from now?

Extraction problem - selection conditions for data load using abap program

Hi All,
I have a problem loading data over a selected period where the selection of date range is done using ABAP routine (type 6). Here though in the request header tab in monitor screen i'm able to see the selection date range populated correctly, no records are being extracted. But if i delete the abap filter and directly give the same date range for selection we are able to extract data. if any body has faced similar problem and have a solution for it please help me with yur suggestion.

It seems the the data range is not properly set in the routine.
You can check the value of selection period generated by routine in the data selection tab-> execute button is there .
Click it to to test the selection values generated by the ABAP routine..
If the value here seems correct one then paste the code of the routine that u have written with brief logic details that u have applied.

Conditional for a text input box NOT being null? Sorry for asking so many questions!

Okay, here's the situation. I'm creating a simulation of a form on which there are several text input boxes, 7 of which are mandatory fields. I know I can use a conditional to check whether the box has nothing in it by creating a null variable with no value and doing "if [box variable] is equal to [null variable] then", but the problem is that the validation captions I need to show need to be shown in order, that is to say that the caption for entering a value for the first box will always be shown if that box is null regardless of the contents of other boxes, the second will be shown if that one is null and the first one isn't etc.
When I was investigating this I noticed a post by Lilybiri saying that comparison with a null variable doesn't work for "not equal to" so I'm having a hard time figuring out how to show the captions based on priority. For example, to show the second caption I need to not only check whether the second box variable is null, but also whether the first one isn't.
It gets pretty crazy further along the line where I get to the 7th mandatory field and need to check whether the first, second, third, fourth, fifth and sixth boxes are NOT null and whether the 7th one IS. Help!
I did come up with one potential solution to this prior to posting: if I set a different advanced action for each input box losing focus which checks whether the variable is null and if so sets a "flag" variable to 0, and in the else set it to 1, I imagine I can then replace the "not equal to" with a check to that flag variable being equal to 1 (which means there is text in the box). I think this will work but I thought I'd check to see if there's an easier way first.

No it DOESN'T require everything to be on one slide. It just has to LOOK as if that's what it is.
I would suggest that it doesn't really matter how many Captivate slides are involved in the final solution, as long as it works the same way (or as close as possible) to the original software that you are simulating. Your users don't frankly know or care how you achieved the simulation. I guarantee they won't be thinking of you or Captivate.
In my experience, you can make creating elearning a lot more difficult than it needs to be in Captivate by trying to rebuild the app, rather than just simulating how it works. For example, thinking that if everything happened on one web page or screen in the app then it must also happen on a single slide in Captivate. The fact of the matter is IT DOESN'T need to work this way. And in some cases it might even be impossible to reproduce in Captivate this way.
So the quickest path to a solution is often to use multiple slides, which has the advantage of allowing you to "fix" certain things on screen (e.g. the contents of fields already visited) by using READ ONLY variable output in transparent captions, focusing only on one element of the interface that the user can interact with on that slide. It doesn't necessarily prevent you from moving back and forth between elements, just as you can in the original app. But it is far easier to create and maintain.
I'm not saying you wouldn't be able to pull this off on one slide in Captivate, but it is going to require a LOT of variables and Advanced Actions to build and debug. So the term Rapid Elearning becomes something of a misnomer if it takes you a long time to complete one slide.

Finder has a different date than the one in iphoto for date created

ok...I found a bunch of pics that have the wrong date created. I changed it in iphoto. I also tried changing it in photoshop bridge. However, the finder is still using some weird date for the date created. Why is this? It's effecting my picture frame.

I have a similar problem. I've downloaded a ton of pictures covering 5 months of touring into file folders on the computer. When I view those in the finder and ask to show the creation dates it lists them correctly. I then imported the pictures into iPhoto, and again, the creation dates are correct. Now when I drag selected pictures out of iPhoto into a desktop folder to be placed onto a digital picture frame, the creation dates all show the date and time they were imported into iPhoto.
Is there a way to keep the original creation dates with those pictures when pulling them from iPhoto? If not I will have to go back to the original files and sort thru them using preview or some other method. I have tried this and the dates are preserved in the newly composed folder for importing to the picture frame, but it is really time consuming.

Error check for multiple ranges input

I have coded a report with the following select options:
SELECT-OPTIONS:
   S_PONUM FOR EKKO-EBELN NO INTERVALS,
   S_PODAT FOR EKKO-BEDAT NO-EXTENSION,
   S_LCNUM FOR EIKP-VORNU NO-EXTENSION NO INTERVALS,
   S_VENDR FOR EKKO-LIFNR NO-EXTENSION NO INTERVALS.
I want that a check should be applied at the selection screen level that at least one field should contain a value, i.e. report cannot be run with all blank selection fields.
I am using this code:
AT SELECTION-SCREEN.
IF S_PONUM-LOW IS INITIAL AND
    S_PODAT-LOW IS INITIAL AND
    S_LCNUM-LOW IS INITIAL AND
    S_VENDR-LOW IS INITIAL.
    MESSAGE I007(ZSH_MSGC) WITH 'All selection fields cannot be blank'.

This works fine, but the problem is that when entering multiple ranges for S_PONUM, when the button on the right of the field is clicked to input range values the message pops up. I want that the check should be applied on execute (F8). Any suggestions? Help is appreciated.

Two characteristics for date but only same date wanted?

Hello experts,
we have 2 date characteristics,
Calendar day
Due day
For one calendar day we could have several due dates. But in Reporting we just want to have always for the calendar day the same due day. We know how to resolv it in the data model but we prefer a reporting solution.
example:
Calendar day - 01/01/2009 | 01/02/2009
Due date - 01/01/2009 - 01/03/2009 | 01/02/2009 - 01/03/2009
Key figure - 100 - 1500 | 120 - 150
We just want to see the due date 01/01/2009. Both characteristics are drilled down.
Result example wanted:
Calendar day - 01/01/2009 | 01/03/2009
Due Date - 01/01/2009 | 01/03/2009
Key figure - 100 | 200

Hi,
You can do this by using replacement path variables and defining a formula which compares these two variables. Output of the formula will be 1 or 0 based on the comparision (Calday == due date).
After this you can define a condition using the formula you have created to compare those dates.
but i think all this can be achieved only if you have the due date in the drill down. however you can hide the due date by keeping it in rows, i think this will not have an effect in the result of the query.

APP-INV-05447: No open period found for date entered

I try to do Inter-Organization Transfer in OPM. But I got this error "APP-INV-05447: No open period found for date entered".
What shall I do for this error?

Parts Requirement Order stuck in Transaction Interface with the error
" No open period found for date entered
No open period found for date entered
Transaction processor error
No open period found for date entered
No open period found for date entered
Transaction process".
Details are as follows:
Transaction is Done on 30-NOV-2009.
Source Org Period is open on 30-NOV-2009
Destination Org Period is closed on 30-NOV-2009.
Due to destination Org is closed, this transactions stuck in interface.
I have opened the Cost Periods (DEC Month) for both Source and Destination Org, and resubmitted all lines after updating Transaction date to 01-DEC-2009. Still transaction could not go through.
How should I handle this error?

Clues about query's - Search for date type at INBOX

At IC Webclient, does anyone experiment to add a new search date type at INBOX, at "search for date" search parameter?
I added a new date type at Date Management, ZDATA_PR.
When I try to assemble the query parts, I use something like this:

How can I define same Price Conditions for two different Sales Deals ??

I need to define for the same price condition, lets say ZPMP, two different values or condition records, for two different sales deals and the same valid dates
For example, Sales deal 1, ZPMP equal to USD 15 and valid dates from 04/15/08 to 04/30/08.
Another condition record for Sales deal 2, ZPMP equal to USD 20 and valid dates from 04/15/08 to 04/30/08
How can I do this.

While creating condition tables, you have the option to create different key combinations. So if you want the system to take different condition records for different sales deals, there has to be a point of differentiation between those 2 sales deals.
This can be done in one of the following ways:
by giving customer specific prices
by giving material specific prices for a particular customer etc
All this can be defined as different key combinations while creating the condition tables. For each key combination, you can specify different condition records, so that the system is able to pull prices according to the requirement.
But if the sales deals are entirely similar (that is even the validity dates, delivery dates etc are also same), and there is no differentiating factor, then you will have to manually input the prices.
Do get back if you require more clarification. Please reward points if useful.

First entry...from is today, to is 99991231.
New dates entered, now we have two rows...:
from is original date to becomes yesterday.
From is today to is 99991231
