Two iTunes Store accounts

HI All,
I have a problem and I am suffering from it. I had an iTunes account and I bought a lot of applications using it. Then I made a new me account and I bought also application on it. Both applications bought from both accounts are on the same MacBook Pro and they are sync with the same iPhone and iPad. Now whenever I open iTunes I find updates, I try to update all but they do not update all. What happens is that I need to log on the first account, update, sign out and sign in again in the second account, update then sync with my iPad and iPhone. Is there a way that I can move my purchases from the first account to the second one and just use one account and close the first one for good???

I made the new account because the first one was a gmail and I wanted to have all the benefits of the mobileMe so I made a new account and used it in all devices. But now all the purchases I made on the old account are stuck with the old account and I really would like to have one account only, which is the new one

I have two iTunes Store accounts. How can I merge them?

The ability to merge accounts has been raised a number of times, and I would have thought that it would be something that Apple has looked at (or maybe still is) - if/when it will be possible I don't know.
It's also not possible to delete an account, all you can do is remove any personal info from it and stop using it. But any content that you bought/downloaded with it will remain tied to it, so only that account will be able to authorise that content on a new computer, redownload it and download updates to its app (so will need to remember the id and password)

  • Two itunes store accounts messed in iphone

I have two different accounts in itunes store, but all my app purchases are only in one (1) and I barely use the other one (2). When I updated to 3.0 software version for the iphone.
The account I see registered in my iphone is the right one (1) but when I try to update the apps, it asks the password of the other account (2), and I am unable to switch accounts since the one that appears in settings is the (1) account.
So, is there a way to delete the files of the (2) account in itunes, in my pc or in the iphone so it works properly with the right one?
Can anyone tell me what should I do?

Same thing happened to me last night. You have to set your account on Itunes to your Apple acct for some reason. It will no longer recongnize my AOL account login.
Go to Store, then to Check accounts to click on the Apple acct. Do this prior to syncing so it will sync the Apple acct.
Hope this helps, it was the only way to get passed the password pop up.

  • Two iTunes Store Accounts w/ One Apple TV?

Greetings everyone! Is it possible to sync content purchased from two iTunes accounts if it's stored in one master library? I have music, movies and TV shows stored on a Mini "server" that's setup to sync with one Apple TV and when I select My TV Shows the episode purchased on the newest account isn't available but everything else is. I apologize in advance if this is already covered; I checked and didn't see it or maybe overlooked it by accident. Cheers and thanks in advance!
    Chris

If the computer is authorized for both accounts to play media from either account, then the ATV should be able to. While I have not bought movies/tv-shows with my account (my wife has her account and her computer is one synced with ATV) the ATV does play all the music I buy under my account that is in her library since her computer is authorized with my account too.

  • Anyway to merge two iTunes store accounts together?

I have two email addresses that I have purchased music from. I no longer have the old one anymore. Is there anyway I can convert all of my old email address songs and have them included with my new email address?

    No.
You should have simply changed the email address on the old account instead of creating anew one.

  • Use and update purchased apps from one iTunes store account to another?

I have two iTunes Store Accounts (Apple ID's) with the vast majority of purchases, music and apps, made on one account, but I've created a second account and wish to use it to sync with my iPhone.
Will I be able to continue to use and update the apps on my iPhone purchased with the first account?
    Thanks.

This sounds like the kinda thing Apple support might be able to help with. It's possible they might be able to merge the 2 accounts or switch user names around or something.
Apps and Protected music files are locked to one account. I don't think there is any way you(personaly) can transfer and/or updated them on a different account.

  • Combine itunes store accounts

I do not know what was the reason but for several months I have two itunes store accounts with differemt passwords as well. I would like to have only one which combines all the purchased apps etc. of both accounts.
Whatndo Inhave to do to get these accounts combined?
I use a MB Pro, iPhone 5 and iPad Air.
Thanks for a soon answer with description

You can't combine or merge accounts, nor transfer content between accounts - content will remain tied to the account that downloaded it.

  • Close iTunes Store Account?

    G'day,
I somehow ended up with two iTunes Store Accounts and have purchased music with both of them.
Is it possible to close my "old" account that I no longer use.
Secondly, if i do close that account will i still be able to play music purchased from that account as the computer is authorised?
    Thanks,
    Stef..

    No an no.
You can contact support here -> http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/store/email/

  • HT4137 I have two iPad's that use the same iTunes/store account. I want the two devices to play games with with other, but it recognizes them as the same. I have set up two different iCloud accounts, but still not recognizing the users as different. What

Hello, I have no idea if my question went out, so I'll post it again. I have two iPads (one 3rd gen and one 4th) that use the same iTunes/store account. I want the two devices to game with each other, but the apps recognize them as the same. I have created two different iCloud accounts in an attempt to differentiate between the two, but no luck. How can I continue to use the same iTunes/store account for music and movies, but also have the two devices recognize each other for games?

You can share your iTunes ID and still have separate iCloud accounts with separate IDs, they don't have to be the same.  If you kids don't already have an iCloud account, have them set up separate accounts on their devices using separate IDs.  If they are already sharing your account, migrate their devices to separate accounts.  To do this, start by saving any photo stream photos they wish to keep to ther camera roll (unless already there) by opening your my photo stream album, tapping Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll.  If they are syncing notes with iCloud, you'll need to open each of your notes and email them to them so you can later copy and paste the text into new notes created in their new account.  Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account (which only deletes it from thier device and won't effect your device), choose Keep on My iDevice and provide the password to turn off Find My iPhone (if using iOS 7).  Then sign back in with a different Apple ID to create their new account and choose Merge to upload the data.  Once everyone is on a separate account you can go to icloud.com from your computer, sign into each account separately and delete your data from their account.

  • One iTunes Store account, two computers, really need help!

Ok, I have just one iTunes store account however i had 2 different computers i used to download the music. my home computer was originally the one i used but then when i moved, i lost internet so my boss let me use my work computer. however after about 5 years of collecting music on that computer my boss got sick and abruptly sold the business. sadly my music went with that computer. I need to find out what to do to get my purchased music downloaded to my laptop now that i have internet. it was all under the same account just downloaded to my work computer instead of home since homes didn't have internet at the time. what can i do?! I've lost all that music! i can see on my account where i purchased it, but i can't seem to get it on my laptop now! please help!!

the following post by Zevoneer, though slightly off topic, says it all:
Did you *back up* your purchases before you you reinstalled your system? If you erased your drive then the purchases will have been erased along with everything else. If you didn't make a back-up of your purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Once a Product is purchased and you receive the Product, it is your responsibility not to lose, destroy, or damage the Product, and Apple shall be without liability to you in the event of any loss, destruction, or damage." iTunes Store: Purchased content can be downloaded only once
*You could try contacting the iTunes Music Store Customer Service and you might be able to persuade them to sanction a second free download*. There have been occasional reports in the iTunes forum of this happening, however just be aware that they are not under any obligation to do so. If you click on this link you'll be able to email your query: iTMS Customer Service
If you have an iPod that still has the purchases on it the transfer of purchased content from the iPod to authorised computers was introduced with iTunes 7. You'll find details in this article: Copying iTunes Store purchases from your iPod or iPhone to a computer
You might also want to check out these pages for future reference:

  • How do I delete an iTunes store account?

I would like to delete a duplicate iTunes store account.  Any suggestions on how to accomplish this?

I inadvertently started two iTunes accounts.  I don't want two iTunes accounts.  The older, incorrect iTunes account has my correct email address associated with it.  Therefore, the newer, correct, preferable account CAN'T use this email address.
If I can just delete the older account, then I can use the new account.  Get it?

  • How many different Apple TVs can I share one iTunes Store account with?

I currently have one AppleTV at my home, and one at my mothers home. We both share the same iTunes Store account, therefore we share the movies that each other purchase. I am interested in getting my father and my aunt and Apple TV as well, I want them to also be able to use my iTunes Store account. That way, if say my father and I both want to watch the same movie, we can split the cost.
I also currently own an iPhone, and an iPad. I'm going to be getting my mother and father iPads as well. I want them to be able to use my iTunes Store account on those devices as well, and be able to stream movies on them.
I know it says that your iTunes Store account can only be associated with 10 devices, but I'm wondering where Apple TVs fit into that stance. It's probably a stupid question, but I was just curious if the fact that it is iCloud changes anything.
Essentially, I'm wondering if four Apple TVs, three iPads, one iPhone, and my one desktop computer can all stream my iCloud movie content, simultaneously. I doubt there will ever be more than two or three going simultaneously, but I just want to know the limitations before I buy these gifts for my family members and run into an unpleasant surprise.
    Thank you for your time,
    Charles

as many as you can other computers with itunes accessing the shared ituned lib
likely the limitation is the network bandwidth more then number of connected devices

  • Can multiple iTunes Store accounts be linked to one iTunes Library

Hi there! I'm having trouble getting a clear answer to this question. If I'm being confusing, forgive me. We are a family of three with two iPod Touches and one older iPod. We recently purchased a new iMac and I migrated our common iTunes Library to the Mac. We won't be using to PC anymore. There are three separate accounts on the Mac but all of them point to the same iTunes Library.
Up until now, we have been using my Apple ID/iTunes Store account for all purchases. I would like to set up a separate iTunes store account for my daughter so she can use all the gift cards she gets to make her own purchases. *If I give her a separate iTunes Store account, can whatever she purchases go into our common library?* I don't want to her to lose access to all the apps and music we have already accumulated.
If both accounts can download content to the same library, can I expect any problems when I sync the different iPods? All of them are set up to sync manually so that we can choose which music playlists, movies and apps go to which device. Will my daughter have to sync her iPod twice -- logging each iTunes store account once -- to get all her content? Are there problems with updating apps?
Sorry this is so long! I keep getting the same answer from an Apple tech via e-mail but it doesn't address the exact points of my concerns! Thanks for any help you can provide.

We have several macs, several ipods, a couple of iphones, several itunes store accounts. So far no problem. You might have to share passwords if you want to share content. I think iStore accounts can only be used on up to 5 computers. We have 7, so have to be a little careful about that. I don't think there is a limit on how many iDevices can be used with one account. I also don't think there is a limit on how many accounts can be used on a single computer (might be wrong about that). You have to be logged into the iStore to download content, and your computer has to be registered with the account to use the content, but once it is on, and registered, syncing to an iPod is not a problem (you do not have to login in again for each account the content was purchased from). I'm just glad I only have two kids, and one wife - things could get trickier in a big family with . . .

  • Best way to  setup 2 iPods, 1 MacBook, 1 iTunes store account?

I just got a iPod Nano (2nd Gen) for Christmas. My wife has a MacBook and a 30GB iPod Video as well as the iTunes account. We've been sharing her iPod but now she says I've got to get my stuff off since I've got my own. We have alot of CDs loaded into iTunes that we both like and also some stuff that only one of us likes (CDs, podcast, etc.). I want to just use her MacBook and iTunes Store account to manage my iPod (until we can afford to me a mac) but I'm not sure how's the best way to do that. I have my own user setup on the Macbook but don't have any access to the music at this time.
    Suggestions?

There are actually a few methods for using more than one iPod on a single computer: How To Use Multiple iPods with One Computer
Just to summarise what's in the link above which is a little out of date:
Method one is to have individual Mac or Windows user accounts which by definition would give you completely separate iTunes Music folders and libraries.
Method two is to set your preferences so that any or all of iPods get updated with only certain playlists within one library:
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Mac
Loading songs onto iPod automatically - Windows
Another option when using a single library is to set any or all of the iPods to manual update: Managing content manually on iPod
Choosing the update option "Sync Music - Selected playlists" allows you to create a playlist specifically for each iPod and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. You can read more about playlists at these links:

  • Move old iTunes Store account over to new MobileMe account

I currently have two iTunes accounts, one linked to my old Hotmail email and the second one is connected to my MobileMe. At the moment, all purchases done with my iPhone are linked to that Hotmail account, which I'm trying to close down.
Is there a way to copy/move/merge the information in the hotmail account, and switch it over to my MobileMe account?
    Many thanx in advance

First, I don't think simply closing the e-mail account means that you must close the iTunes account. The e-mail address is simply your ID for the iTunes Store account. (And I believe you should be able to change the e-mail address associated with the account so that you still receive receipts, etc. This seems to vary, though. Some users are able to change this while others are not.)
Second, this question has been asked before, and the general response has been that it's not possible. But others have suggested contacting store support. You can reach them here: http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/. Also...the following link has a question about consolidating Apple IDs. It might prove useful: http://support.apple.com/kb/HE37
