Two Oracle XA connections fails

We experience problems when using more than one Oracle XA-resource from inside an EJB context under WSAD 5.1.
It looks like the Oracle jdbc-driver isnt XA-complient with itself ;)
We use the following configuration:
- Oracle9i 9.2.0.3
- Oracle9i_9.2.0.3 jdbc-driver,
- WSAD 5.1
- JDBC provider type=Oracle JDBC Driver (XA)
- One statelsss SB
- Two Oracle XA datasources
The following code is run inside the SB:
Context ctx = (Context) new InitialContext().lookup("java:comp/env");
DataSource ds1 = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/ds1");
Connection conn1 = ds1.getConnection();
Statement stmt1 = conn1.createStatement();
stmt1.executeUpdate("insert into test (test) values('test')");
DataSource ds2 = (DataSource) ctx.lookup("jdbc/ds2");
Connection conn2 = ds2.getConnection();
Statement stmt2 = conn2.createStatement();
stmt2.executeUpdate("insert into test (test) values('test')");
// Fails on SB exit with the following in the server log:
[18.09.03 20:45:06:174 CEST] 4887ae48 WSRdbXaResour I
The XA Error is : -3
The XA Error message is : A resource manager error has occured in the transaction branch.

A similar problem have also been posted on an ibm forum: http://groups.google.com/groups?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&threadm=bk4tfn%2499n8%241%40news.boulder.ibm.com&rnum=1&prev=/groups%3Fq%3D2051%2BInternal.XA.Error%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26ie%3DUTF-8%26oe%3DUTF-8%26selm%3Dbk4tfn%252499n8%25241%2540news.boulder.ibm.com%26rnum%3D1

We will appreciate any workaround for this problem. Is it a oracle driver problem?

  • 64 bit SAP to 32 bit External Oracle Database connectivity failing

    Dear All,
    We are trying to connect to an external Oracle database thru DBCON method. We are able to connect to Oracle server from our IDES server which is a 32 bit server, but when we are trying to connect our development server which is a 64 bit server, the connectivity is failing.
    we copied the correct 64 bit *.lib file to the SAP server but still same result. We are getting the error message - Work Process restarted. Session terminated.
    the Oracle server we are trying to connect is 32 bit, can this create some problem ?
    kindly any one help us in this reagrd.
    thanks in advance,
    Saurabh.

    Hi Eric,
    thanks for the advice but I am a bit confused as where to execute that sqlplus command/query ?
    in the Oracle server or from SAP and what does system/password@DEV means ??
    can you elaborate on this please.
    here i would like to add that we have connected to the external Oracle server using linked server approach of MS SQL (our SAP default database) and so our connectivity is happening till SQL level i.e. I am able to connect to the Oracle and query it using OpenQuery syntax. the problem is appearing when I am trying to connect from the ABAP level.
    kindly suggest as to what can be the solution of this issue.
    thanks
    Saurabh.

  • Business Rules:Non-oracle db connections not shown in the ADF-BC Facts sect

    Hi everyone
    I'm working with Oracle BPM 11.1.1.5.0
    JDeverloper: 11.1.1.5.0
    Database : SQL Server 2008.
    I'm trying to create some rules based on some value in my tables in the database.
    The problem:
    My non-oracle DB connections are not shown in my Business rule, in the ADF-BC Facts section on the Facts tab.
    I have two oracle db connections and one SQL Server connection, and all three have been working perfectly before.
    But in the business rules facts section, when I want to add a new ADF-BC fact, only the oracle connections are shown.
    I have tried recreating all of them a few times, re registering my sqljdbc jar file, creating a new test application from scratch, but none seems to work.
    Can some one give me any hint please?
    Thanks in advance

    has anyone else had this problem ?

  • What is the logic behind the oracle database connections....

    Hi,
    We have crontab alerts are enabled for the oracle database client connection.
    For Production databases the alerts are coming continuously until it gets connected.
    For QA databases it will throw the message that the oracle client connection fails and again it will prompt whenever it gets connected.
    Please let me know the logic behind these scnerions.
    Pavan..

    Hi,
    Thanks for the update, Sorry the question was not clear. let me put it in a clear way.
    Following is our crontab which alerts us if any database/listener goes down. But it alerts us only once for one successful/unsuccessful connection. For Eg: If the crontab not able to connect to the database for once then it throws an alert only once and waits for a successful connection.
    I would like to change the logic in this crontab in such a way that, it should keep on alerting us for all the unsuccessful connections and once or twice for successful connection.

    Oracle RDBMS does NOT speak any "protocol" except SQL natively.

  • Oracle connect failed on x64 and IA64 platform via Oracle OLEDB provider

    Hi everyone,
    I installed SQL Sever on x64 and IA64 machine, and Create a database via Oracle datasource. I can connect the datasource via OLEDB and .Net provider successfully on x86 machine. But failed to connect the Oracle datasource on x64 and IA64.
    Following is the error messgae:
    1) Install 64 bit build on x64 machine:
    Error message: Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. ORA-06413: Connection not open.
    2) Install 32 bit build on x64 machine:
    Error message: Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Oracle client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation.
    I know there is a know bug on c:\Program Files (x86)\... with Oracle provider. And some one has given a workarround method that I should move my my application out of the the folder path which includes parentheses. But it really is mess method for SQL Server (That is my application)......
    Is there any other workarround method? Or when will Oracle fix this bug?
    Thanks^_^
    Lindsay

    Is 10204 available for x64 and IA64. It is said that there is only 10204 for x86 machine, right?
    I downloaded 10203 for IA64 machine and tested connection on SQL Server with Oracle datasource via Oracle OLEDB provider, and got the following error (The data source is Oracle92 installed on another machine):
    Test connection failed because of an error in initializing provider. Oracle client and networking components were not found. These components are supplied by Oracle Corporation and are part of the Oracle Version 7.3.3 or later client software installation.
    Could you please tell me what's wrong with it?
    Thanks

  • Connect from Windows 98 to Oracle 8.1 fails

    Hi...
    we are using Power Builder to connect
    to the Oracle 8.1 DB. It's running under Windows98 and the connect fails every time.
    Under Win NT 4 it still works fine.
    Are there some diffrent parameters between
    win98 & NT? Wich they are, and how do i use them.
    hopefull best regards...
    Andreas Korte

    In addition to install 32-bit Oracle client to 32-bit Windows OS, you need to know whether your application is compiled to run in 32-bit or 64-bit.
    This is critical because 32-bit application can not see 64-bit Oracle ODBC and OLE DB provider.
    For example, MS SQL Server 2005 uses 32-bit DTS, and SSIS, which needs 32-bit Oracle client
    If you don't know, get a copy of both 32-bit and 64-bit Oracle client, and try one-by-one to know for sure. Please be aware that if regsvr32.exe in the Windows has been overwritten by older software installation, it won't register some DLL properly, and Oracle ODBC, or OLE DB won't show up as well

  • Discoverer Desktop Connections Fails With Invalid Username/Pass in r12

    Hi all;
    I have problem. I can login Discoverer Administrator from my localmachine and i can see what ppl did it there.. But when i try to login Discoverer Desktop from my localmachine its gives me Invalid Username/Pass. error.
    I even cant login my system from browser :

    Connect to : Oracle Application
    Username: sysadmin

    Database: VIS
    I found some document from forums. Whihc is :
    Discoverer Is Unable to Connect to Oracle Applications database: invalid username/password      Doc ID: Note:467919.1
    Discoverer 10g (10.1.2) Connectons To Oracle E-Business Suite 12 Fails With 'Invalid Username/Password'      Doc ID: Note:443661.1
    But before i apply those patch i want to take advice from you. Coz i can login Discoverer Administrator and can use it but cant login Discoverer Desktop...its kind of wierd... i already checked what i have done in installtion and its all seems correct.
    Any idea;
    Regards
    Helios

    Discoverer supports two kinds of connections - database schema connections and apps connections. For Disco Admin, you login using a database schema, which, as you stated, works. For Disco User you login using an Apps user account (for which there is a no equivalent database scherma). To enable such a connection, you need to check the "oracle applications user" check box on the 10g Disco login screen. Also, under Tools --> Options, in the Connection tab, make sure that "connect to both standard and applications EULs" radio button is selected.

  • HELP! Oracle FailSafe - Listener fails when adding standalone database

    Well, I have a cluster of two nodes with the following specs:
    (1) an Oracle 10g database each
    (2) Microsoft Cluster Service (MSCS)
    (3) Windows Server 2003 64-bit edition
    (4) Intel Itanium Processor
    (5) Oracle Failsafe 3.3.3 for Windows 2003 64-bit
    The 64-bit Oracle Failsafe doesn't come with Oracle Failsafe Manager, so I used a Failsafe Manager remotely from another clustered servers. The version is also 3.3.3, but it's running on a Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
    Well, after connecting to the 64-bit cluster, I added the standalone database to a Cluster Group. There are two cluster groups on the Server:
    (1)"Cluster Group" (the default cluster group created by MSCS); containing an IP address, a network name, Oracle Cluster Services, and the Quorum hard drive.
    (1)"ORACLE DB" A cluster gropu I created for the database; containing another IP address, a network name for the IP address, and every hard drive volumes of the database files.
    The database currently resides on the Node 2 (because I created it there). I have successfully verified the database (using "Verify Standalone Database" option). BUT when I added the database into the cluster group ORACLE DB, it failed with the following message:
    23 20:48:48 ** ERROR : FS-10066: Failed to start Windows service OracleOraDb10g_home1TNSListener for the Oracle Net listener
    When I opened the Windows Event Viewer, apparently the Listener Service had started, but it soon "terminated unexpectedly":
    At first, the Listener Service appeared to be started:
    But this is what happened next; it seemed the Listener Service terminated abruptly after entering the running state for a very short time:
    What happened? What should I do? What is the problem? Many thanks!
    PS: the following are the messages from both Verifying Standalone Database and Adding Standalone Database. The verification was successfull, but I just failed to add the database:

  • FDQM Target Dimension - connection failed

    Hi, I am getting started to FDQM and I am trying to prepare the new environment so I started with the workbench and finished these steps:-
    1) Imported the Essbase adapter (ES11XG4-J) to the application then registered it successfully.
    2) Edited the two environment variables "ESSBASEPATH" and "PATH" with the right variables specified in oracle docs.
    3) Opened the configurations of the Adapter from the workbench and submitted this settings:-
          a) Source and Target Machines.
          b) Application name, Essbase DB Name
    The issue now is that when I view the mapped dimensions at the "Dimensions" tab, It always gives me a 'connection failed" error beside the "Target Dimension" label so I can't complete my work to map the dimensions.
    I checked the error log also, and found that the error existing now saying "Essbase AP Procedure: [EsbSetActive] Threw code: 1051032-1051032", I searched for this error in the forum here but the solutions offered not working with me!
    Your help is much appreciated , Thanks in advance

    we need to update, ARBORPATH and ESSBASEPATH first, then in the PATH add as shown in the below link(If it is 64 bit machine)
    Hyperion Installations and Implementations: FDM-Essbase Adapter Issue in Hyperion 11.1.2.x
    Make sure, you have installed Essbase Client in the FDM Machine.
    Once the Environmental Variables changes done, restart the Server then try again.
    Let me know if you face any issue....!
    Thanks,
    Mady

  • For two months, Telstra have failed to help me. What should I do?

    Hello everyone. I feel as though I need to inform people about this and get some advice on what to do. I've been trying to resolve it with Telstra for months but they really aren't interested. Here's what's happened: Our household wants to upgrade from our ADSL2+ to Cable internet. The NBN is not yet available in our area, so Cable was the next step. Currently, Telstra is the only ISP that is able to service my address with Cable internet (Optus, for example, cannot). So, I called Telstra at the beginning of May, and we set to order the 500GB cable internet month to month plan with the Super speed boost. And, after preparing it, they said the next Monday (it was Saturday) they would send someone out to connect it. So, the serviceman arrives at my household, and there is a problem: The Cable is on the other side of the street, and as a result, he would need 14 days to work out what needs to be done. Of course, I would assume my household is not the only house in Australia where the cable is on the other side of the street (not a main road, no road markings), so after 14 days had past and there was no contact with us, we wondered what the problem was. We called Telstra, and after waiting 20 minutes to be connected to their technical team, we were finally informed that the process had started that would require a team to come to our street and install the Cable correctly so that it could connect to our house. At this point, we were happy, as at least we felt there was progress. I mean, they could have called us to let us know, but it didn't matter at this stage. Anyway, they couldn't give a date, so they said to wait another 14 days, and 'within' that 14 days, the order should have completed. Well, 3 weeks passed, and nothing, once again, had happened. No contact, no calls, nothing. And, to top it off, none of the Telstra inquiry links that were sent to me, where I could "Call back" the person I had spoken to, ever worked. It would always say "this feature is unavailable". We called back again, and this time, they extended the waiting time that we had been told from 14 days to 25 days. That way, of course, they were still within the time frame. Ok, whatever, that was fine.... So, we called again when that time had finished. It had been, like, a month since we placed out order by this time. This time, the person I spoke to was like "Oh, yeah, it is outside the time now, taking into account the weekends and public holidays, your order should have finished 2 days ago at the max". So, they did something which was meant to alert their team that nothing had happened. Of course, I politely explained to them that this was disappointing, but there was nothing they could offer me. The lady simply informed me, after speaking with their team, that they had to wait for the 3rd party workmen to complete their service and connect the Cable to the household, and that the order would not complete until then. Of course I asked if they could give a date, but they could not. So I waited a couple of weeks once again, in fact, I actually travelled overseas for a week in that time... I had been waiting each day, hoping that I would see a Telstra Van or something start some work in our Street. But nothing... nothing as always.... At this stage, we were very annoyed. I called Telstra once again, and had to wait for 45 minutes just to connect to someone. Now, the person I spoke to this time was as helpful as he was doing what he could and asking the questions I wanted to ask. For 30 mins, he was trying to connect to another Telstra team, but he kept coming back to me saying "I'm so sorry, I'm still on hold, really really sorry" but that was fine. At least he was going to the effort to keep me informed. Anyway, I was so upset. I told him my story, how we had never gotten an answer, the only answer we got was "We're not sure when" and that we never got called back. According to him, he pushed for a better answer from the other Telstra team, butt hey wouldn't give him one. They kept telling him "It will be done once the 3rd party do their bit". Now, if Telstra are getting 3rd parties to do work for them, and those 3rd parties are not doing the work, I would have expected at the VERY LEAST, that Telstra would contact that third party and ask when it would be done, but they keep refusing to do it. In this same call, the helpful man told me he did anything and everything he could, and so, thanking him, I asked if I could speak to a manager. He escallated the problem, which apparrently placed a specific manager in charge of the problem, and I then spoke to that Manager. She gave me the same info, they could not give me an answer. However, he forwarded the problem to the complaints area, and told me I would be contacted within 24-48 hours... AND AFTER 2 WEEKS OF NO CONTACT FROM TELSTRA....... two weeks, AGAIN, they failed to call me back, and each time I double checked to make sure they had the right number, which they did - I rang again, and asked immediately to speak to a manager. Sigh... so, we waited in total for another 40 mins while this different manager called and talked, and... for nothing. She told me the same thing everyone else did: "We have no idea when it will be done. sorry." - she then, once again, 'forwarded' my complaint, and told me I would be contacted again within 24-48 hours. So, here I am. 2 months after placing an order, COMPLETELY in the dark. I have no idea if they will call me back, no idea what the hell is going to happen. How can Telstra think that this is an acceptable answer? "We cannot service till the 3rd party completes the work, sorry" And the sad thing is, no one else offers Cable at our address, The first thing I would have done is obviously go with someone else, but we cannot. To think, that Telstra cannot even contact the people that they, themselves, are contracting to do work for them, to get a lousy time frame. Do they care so little about us that they literally do not care to do anything? I cannot believe that over the past two months, the way we have been treated is not a 'one off', but a pattern of pathetic and disgusting care for existing consimers by Telstra (Yes, we already have multiple services with them). I am so worn out... I don't know what to do...

    It seems they actually called me back today, and this time when a complaint was lodged, they actually got back to me!. The complaint reference was: SR 1-513261789108 (Should that not work, my last INT reference emailed to me is as follows: INT 1-502560651827 [25 June] ) The issue is this, according to them: The 3rd party claims to have started work. There is 'no way' they can ascertain when the work will be finished. So in essence, no answer. No idea. No way of knowing. If I were to obtain the number or contact of the 3rd party, it would be great, as I would be able to contact them myself, and forward a complain to the ombudsman for their failure to communicate. Let's not forget here that a date was set, in which the order should have been completed, and according to the lady I spoke with today in the complaints section, it should have been finished in May... There's literally nothing else, according to them, they can do. Seems Telstra cannot control the 3rd parties that they, themselves contract, to do their work. I see how it is, Telstra itself is technically not to blame, as it is the 3rd party that must finish the work, however, Telstra needs to accept:1. The work not being finished remotely on time is NOT acceptable2. That the 3rd party refuse to give a date, which is NOT acceptable; and3. That Telstra's failure to get information from people they contact is NOT acceptable. I said to the lady today: "It could take months, couldn't it?" And she said "Well sir, I cannot give you a date". How sad... How very Sad. I am grateful to the moderator who answered this thread, and I really do hope you take a look at the complaint reference. The lady explained to me they cannot be kept open, so she said she was going to mark it as resolved. I mean, it isn't of course, but whatever. At least if you get access to the reference, you will see the pain, and absolute waste of time I have gone through over the past few months with Telstra. You won't be able to help, as even managers and escallations have lead to nothing, which is really sad; it is upsetting that the higher ups cannot provide you with the necessary tools you need to help the community effectively in situations like this. So, thank you for your genuine help and concern, even if, unfortunately, it won't be able to help me

  • Submit Button error - Data Connection failing

    I am the form designer and am currently testing a new form I have created, however there is an error with my submit button which Saves the form to SharePoint, I receive the following error message:
    InfoPath cannot submit the form.
    An error occurred while the form was being submitted.
    The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http://servername/siteA/siteB/siteC/FormLibrary/FormName.xml
    The file: http://servername/siteA/siteB/siteC/FormLibrary/FormName.xml" is checked out for editing by DOMAIN\MyUserName.
    The operation completed successfully.
    The form is not checked out to me, or open by anybody else, also check out functionality is not forced on this SharePoint library.
    On searching forums I have read about using friendly server names and I am using the server's name in the URL, i.e.
    http://servername instead of the alias
    http://intranet - this had solved the problem in other forms, but not this one.
    Looking closely at the rules on my submit button, the following actions occur:
    1st rule checks the selection of certain fields, if the conditions are right it will set the values of 3 different fields.
    The 2nd rule saves to SharePoint using a data connection (please note this data connection works fine on different submit buttons in different views). The second rule also closes the form.
    To test where the error occurs I added a series of actions to display messages, and the problem is definitely on the data connection rule.
    The data connection is to save to a Sharepoint library, using a field called "filename" as the file name. The data connection allows overwrites. The file name is set the first time a file is saved (it has a condition which checks a field which
    gets set upon any save event - if this field is set to 0 filename gets set and this field gets set to 1 - because this field is now equal to 1, the filename field will nwever get set again).
    I have 2 views on the form, one named phase 1, the other named phase 2. When the custom submit button is pressed on the phase 1 view, my data connection works, but on the save 2 view, the exact same data connection fails with the error message above.
    I am using Windows 7, InfoPath 2010, SharePoint 2010, InfoPath filler form).
    In Windows XP, for a different user, the error messaeg is a little different, and the form does actually save:
    InfoPath cannot submit the form
    An error occurred while the form was being submitted
    The form cannot be submitted to the following location: http://servername/siteA/siteB/siteC/FormLibrary/FormName.xml
    The file is in use by another application or user.
    As I said the form does actually save its changes but still throws up this error message which will be very confusing to end users.
    I've exhausted all avenues that I know of to find the cause of the error messages and I'm at a loss, please help!
    Thanks,
    Ben

    bgvball14. I found that the error was down to the friendly name / server name issue. I have made sure that everything uses the friendly name e.g.
    http://intranet instead of the servername e.g.
    http://servername. I made sure the data connection and all options in the publishing wizard are set to the friendly name. There were still some forms that didn't work though - this was because when trying to fix this problem I had switched several times
    between using the friendly /server names and some forms were looking for the template with the server name (these didn't work), other forms looked for the friendly name (these did work).
    What I did was open my form library in windows explorer view and then drag each form into Notepad so I could see the source code. On the top two lines I could see the reference to the template and in some cases the template weas referenced using the server
    aname, which I changed to the friendly name and this worked. I did have to check every form in the library. Basically, everything should reference the friendly name (e.g.
    http://intranet.
