Two work on the same book?

I have been working on a family album for a while, but I just found out my sister is doing the same. we both have iMacs with iPhoto 09 but she lives in VA and I live in MI. We were talking about working on a book together in iPhoto, but I do not know how to set the book up so we can both work on it or to send each other the book so we can both work on it. What would be the best way we could both work on the same book?

There is not a way - iPhoto is not a multiuser program and the book does not really exist - it is just entries in the iPhoto database - the only way to move a book is to move the entire library - you may want to consider creating a special library for each new book for ease of archiving - see Old Toad's tutorial #9a - http://web.me.com/toad.hall/ToadsTutorials/No._9a.html - but even then the library is fairly large and even if yo sent here a copy of it there is not way to merge your efforts - you would have to send it to her, have her work for a while and send it back for you to work on - not really a solution at all
One of you can work on pages (either in iPhoto or in another program - pagemaker, pages, word, etc) and when a page is complete do a print using the PDF option send pdf to iPhoto option and then send each page image to the other for inclusion (but they will be page images not iPhoto book pages that can be further edited as pages only as a total image

  • Urgent: two authors for the same book

    I have a database with three tables: books, authors and aux.
    The books table stores the names of the books. The authors table stores the name of the authors. Table aux takes the id of the other two. I did this for the case of the same book has two or more authors
    The query I did was the following:
    SELECT authores.author, books.title
    FROM aux, authors, books
    WHERE aux.books_id = books.id AND aux.authors_id = authors.id
    ORDER BY books.title ASC
    How do I show the two authors for the same book?
    For now, I'm using a simple table:
    <table border="1" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1">
      <tr>
        <td>author</td>
        <td>title</td>
      </tr>
      <?php do { ?>
        <tr>
          <td><?php echo $row_rsBooks['author']; ?></td>
          <td><?php echo $row_rsBooks['title']; ?></td>
        </tr>
        <?php } while ($row_rsBooks = mysql_fetch_assoc($rsBooks)); ?>
    </table>
    Thus, the table presents two results for the same book, instead of uniting the two authors of the same book.

    Thanks for the reply.
    In the meantime, got what I wanted. The expression looks like this:
    SELECT livros.titulo, GROUP_CONCAT(autores.autor SEPARATOR ',') AS Autores
    FROM livros INNER JOIN aux ON aux.livros_id = livros.id INNER JOIN autores ON aux.autores_id = autores.id
    GROUP BY livros.titulo

  • How do i create one source file that feeds two users on the same pro book?

    how do i create one source file/folder of photos that feeds two users on the same pro book?

    Well you can do exactly the same with a folder of photos, just put in the Users/Shared folder.
    Iphoto is a mite more complex than this. It's a database and so there's a bit more involved.
    For iPhoto 09 (version 8.0.2) and later:
    What you mean by 'share'.
    If you want the other user to be able to see the pics, but not add to, change or alter your library, then enable Sharing in your iPhoto (Preferences -> Sharing), leave iPhoto running and use Fast User Switching to open the other account. In that account, enable 'Look For Shared Libraries'. Your Library will appear in the other source pane.
    Any user can drag a pic from the Shared Library to their own in the iPhoto Window.
    Remember iPhoto must be running in both accounts for this to work.
    If you want the other user to have the same access to the library as you: to be able to add, edit, organise, keyword etc.
    Quit iPhoto in both accounts. Move the Library to the Users / Shared Folder
    (You can also use an external HD set to ignore permissions, a Disk Image or even partition your Hard Disk.)
    In each account in turn: Double click on the Library to open it. (You may be asked to repair the Library Permissions.) From that point on, this will be the default library location. Both accounts will have full access to the library, in fact, both accounts will 'own' it.
    However, there is a catch with this system and it is a significant one. iPhoto is not a multi-user app., it does not have the code to negotiate two users simultaneously writing to the database, and trying will cause db corruption. So only one user at a time, and back up, back up back up.

  • Tasks allocated to two ressources to work at the same time

    Hello,
    I faced a problem allocating a task to two persons, that have to work at the same time on this task e.g. the are working in a workshop to solve an issue.
    If I use standard allocation, Project optimizes that both members of the workshop are working their 4h work budget at different times to shorten the elapsed time.
    Thanks, Marcus

    Marcus,
    Whether project changes the duration, work value or assignment units depends on the task type and the order in which you go things.  to make things simpler, I always insert the work column (1), and then when assigning the resources, I then use the Smart
    Tag (2 in the screen shot below) to tell project what to do (3 in the screen shot).

  • Hello there - I am sharing an iPhoto library across two accounts on the same computer - it works fine EXCEPT for Quicktime movies - they play on one account and claim I don't have the rights on the other - all permissions are on and ok?

    Hello there - I am sharing an iPhoto library across two accounts on the same computer - it works fine EXCEPT for Quicktime movies - they play on one account and claim I don't have the rights on the other - all permissions are on and ok?

    It should be in the Users/ Shared folder.
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Note the option to check and repair Library Permissions

  • HT3529 will imessaging work on two iphones using the same apple id

    will imessaging work on two iphones using the same apple id

    It will. If the two phones are used by two different people, however, you will need to implement some careful management of your iMessage settings to ensure that you don't each receive each-other's messages. It is a much safer option to use different Apple IDs for each individual.
    On iOS devices, you are able to use separate Apple IDs for iMessage and Facetime, iCloud, and the iTunes and App Stores.

  • Technical question:  Is it possible to work on the same Lightroom catalog across two computers and have the catalog sync? If so, how??

    Technical question:
    Is it possible to work on the same Lightroom catalog across two computers and have the catalog sync? If so, how??
    Here's a little more information on what I am trying to do.
    I have a desktop computer with 4tb worth of pictures that has Lightroom and Photoshop on it. I also have a laptop with Photoshop and Lightroom. I would like to be able to edit those same pictures with their current edits that are currently on my desktop on my laptop. If this can be done, I'm sure I need to be on the same wifi network for my laptop to be able to access my desktop's photo library. I am technically savvy enough to map a network drive, but how do I get my two Lightroom catalogs to sync when I make a change on one of my computers? Would i be working only on one catalog? Or two separate catalogs that would need to be manually synced to the other computer? Would it be beneficial to put my lightroom catalog on something like dropbox?
    I'd appreciate any information or tutorials if someone knows how to do this.

    I do this by having my LR catalog and photos on an external drive that I swap between the two computers.  I am on Windows and have the same drive letter assigned to the drive on both computers.
    Because the photos are on a portable drive I back up the portable drive to another hard-drive every night or after important work, because portable drives are susceptible to damage or loss.

  • HT5177 How can two people edit the same FCPX file? One company, so both people/computers share the same license. Example: I work on revision A and my boss takes it and makes revision B and gives it back to me using two separate computers.

    Have the project, events and media on one drive which is common to both macs.
    You can download FCP X to both macs using the same Apple ID that it was purchased with.

  • Can two different account work on the same project?

    I work for a non-profit organization and we are think about switching platform for our website, we are looking in to Muse, our graphic designer already have a Adobe Muse account and we would like to get an other account for the organization, will it be possible for both our account to work on the same project? With an account we can only have two computer with Muse and there will be 3 working on the website.

    Hi Alexandre,
    At any given point not more than one person can work on a .muse file. Muse is not yet designed for a workflow like this. You can update the .muse file using three different accounts as long as the file is not opened at more than one end at the same time and the file needs to be shared manually in between the accounts once one person is done working on it.

  • How to work on the same project on two machines at the same time and also exchange progress seamlessly using Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014?

    We are working on a film project on Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2014. Two editors are working on the same film project (same pproj file ) on two machines. As a result the bin structure and the file structure is exactly the same. We even bought two licenses for the respective machines to make matters simple (at least we thought it would).
    Now when we share a sequence between the two machines, every time we have to import and re-link media. Also each sequence import comes with its own set of files, which are actually already present in the project. Basically the new sequences are looking to re-link the media to the original/ source files only and are completely ignoring the file structure present in the project.
    In all editing softwares, timeline/ sequence sharing is a very common practise when working on multiple machines. Why is it so tedious in CC 2014? Every time we share a sequence between the two machines the media gets doubled and tripled in the project. As a result the project file size is increasing perpetually. Already Premiere CC 2014 is extremely laggy and slow, and this stupid bug is making it more difficult for us to finish our work on time.
    Has anybody ever faced this issue? How do we solve it? We are willing to try out any workflow that you can suggest.

    Concurrently working on the same project it requires a specific implementation in all editing programs like Avid's Unity/ ISIS shared storage. That's what you are simply not considering. none of your issues would be any problem if your projects resided on a commonly accessed server or something like that. Check respective hardware solutions.

  • Apex mixes applications working with two windows at the same time

    Hi all, while developing in Apex I have found the following problem:
    Working with two different applications at the same time, the browser goes from one to another indistinctly.
    To reproduce the problem:
    1. Open the same application builder in two different Firefox windows
    2. Open a different application in each window (In my case: application 103 in window1 and application 105 in window2)
    3. Go to shared components in both windows (window1 first)
    - window1 breadcrumbs show: Home > Application Builder > Application 103 > Shared Components
    - window2 breadcrumbs show: Home > Application Builder > Application 105 > Shared Components
    4. Click in any shared component in window1 (Templates, Authentication Schemes...)
    - window1 breadcrumbs show: Home > Application Builder > Application *105* > Shared Components > Templates (Application 105 instead of 103)
    Is it a bug? I have read the known issues [[Here]|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/apex/downloads/apex402knownissues-189793.html] but it does not appear.
    Related Data:
    Application Express version 4.0.2.00.07
    Firefox 3.6.15
    SO: Windows XP
    The error is not reproduced with IE7. I have not tested any other browser.
    Regards,
    Molina

    If you tried opening up two pages in the same application each of which modifies the same page items, you would notice the same issue.
    This is because, in a session there is only one set of values for page items(or application items) and every parallel call to the same page would update the same bind variables.
    Now the development environment or Apex Builder is also an apex application , and when try and open up the pages as you mentioned, they both access the same Application Builder page and sets/resets any existing values for those variables(and maybe cookies too if they are being used) , hence the 'mixing up'.
    If that didn't convince you, check the URL of both the pages when you load them, they should show the same page number ( f?p=APP_ID:PAGE_NUMBER syntax). Imagine if the same approach was done with one of your application pages, say an edit form opened from a report with multiple records in multiple tabs like what happened with this case: {message:id=9346663}
    So this really isn't a bug in a way, because that is how session states in apex is/was maintained. Ofcourse if they used another kind of development platform for building pages, it may have been avoided, but thats an altogether different point in itself.

  • I bought an audio book on iTunes and it charged me for two of the same book and downloaded two.  How do I get my money back for one of them?

    I purchased an audio book on iTunes store and was charged for two and downloaded two of the same book.  How do I get my money back for the second one?

    Try contacting iTunes support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption
    Note that audiobooks are currently a one-time only download from the store, so you may want to take a backup copy of it

    I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project/photos from iphoto.
    Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

    No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
    Even though the horse is out of the barn the following tutorial might be of help for future books, i.e. create a new library for each book): iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

  • When our iPad is in use on the internet, my iMac internet connection goes off. I can't get the two devices to work at the same time with the AirPort Express. Is there a setting somewhere I may have missed?

    When our iPad is in use on the internet, my iMac internet connection goes off. I can't get the two devices to work at the same time with the AirPort Express. Is there a setting somewhere I may have missed?

    When two or more devices conflict it typically means that the DHCP service is either misconfigured or is not running at all. DHCP provides IP addresses to local network clients.
    Is your AirPort Express base station the only router in your current network configuration? That is, is it connected directly to an Internet modem and not to another router upstream of it?

  • Two JavaScript widgets won't work on the same page [was: Not the first time]

    I ran into this a few months back and gave up on it. I have a page that has several javascripts running on it. They are:
    vnu_datestamp.js
    a flashing neon text script (inline)
    DW's own rollover image (MM_swapimgRestore) script (also inline)
    jquery1.2.2_pack.js
    overlapviewer.js
    lightbox.js (which also relies on scriptaculous.js, prototype.js and an "effects.js" to run)
    I know that's a "garbage pail" of javascripts to all be on the same page. Frankly I'm surprised that they don't all give me problems. But there is one.
    The lightbox and overlap viewer just will not play together.
    Depending on which one I list first in the header, the other one quits. Whichever one I lose goes from the image display effect to acting like a straight hyperlink to the designated image.
    It isn't a huge deal, but I'd like to be able to have the two of these on the same page and working. I have them running alone on other pages and can link to them, but it sort of defeats the purpose of making a web page to show the variety of things I can do for someone who whats a website built, if one or more of the things won't work.

    I've had a quick look at your page. Quite honestly, I find all the flashing rather nauseating, but if that's the way you want to design a page, it's your choice...
    The conflict is caused by the fact that overlapview.js seems to rely on jQuery, while lightbox.js relies on Prototype and script.aculo.us. Both jQuery and Prototype use $() as a shortcut, so you cannot mix the two libraries on the same page without taking special measures to prevent the conflict. In jQuery, you do this by loading all the jQuery, Prototype, and script.aculo.us libraries first, and then using the following script:
    jQuery.noConflict();
    Then load overlapview.js, replacing all instances of $ with jQuery. So, for example, the following line:
    $(t).fadeTo('normal', overlapviewer.endopacity, function(){
    needs to be rewritten like this:
    jQuery(t).fadeTo('normal', overlapviewer.endopacity, function(){
