  • Before opening this message appears:"TypeError:Components.classes(id)Undefined". How can I get rid of this?

Before opening Firefox 4 this message appears:"TypeError:Components.classes(id)Undefined". How can I get rid of this

Try the suggested idea above. I just disabled all the add-ons which were not compatible with FF 5 and did a FF restart. That fixed the problem. I then enabled each one, one at a time, with a FF restart until the problem came back. I then disabled that add-on.

  • I keep getting typeerror:verizon_DTFox.prefs is undefined

Whenever I try to go to the internet I get the following error message: TypeError: verizon_DTFox.prefs is undefined
All I have to do is click on "OK" and it lets me go to my homepage. It also does it when I try to open other windows within any website. For instance, if I am at Verizon's homepage and want to check out the news, I click on "News" and get that message. I have to click on "OK" and then it lets me go to the newsroom. On Facebook, for ex., if I want to check my messages, I click on "messages", get the error message, click on "OK", and then can go to my messages.

This error can be caused by an extension (Tools > Add-ons > Extensions).
Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).

  • No longer able to add bookmarks on Yahoo Toolbar, Error message: "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" started when I updated to Firefox 6.0

Since updating to Firefox 6.0 I am no longer able to add bookmarks on Yahoo Toolbarl. I receive the following Java Error message: "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function." When I hit the OK button in the error message it opens up "Add a Bookmark" and when I attempt to add the bookmark there I get this error message: "A problem occured while trying to save the bookmark. Please try again later."
Is this a comparability issue that you are not aware of? Below are the versions of Firefox and Yahoo Toolbar that I currently have installed:
    Firefox: 6.0.02
    Yahoo Toolbar: 2.4.0.20110815110908
    Windows XP, Service Pack 3
I am having this issue on my laptop and desktop. Since I use both computers the Yahoo toolbar has been great for having my bookmarks available on both computers at the same time but no I don't have that feature. I'm told that Google's toolbar also doesn't work either.
Do you guys do any testing or Quality Assurance testing before releasing these versions?

Add-ons are the responsibility of their authors. McAfee does not even put their extension on http://addons.mozilla.org you had to install it from their site.
Disable "McAfee Site Advisor" extension which was just updated to 3.4.0, which probably took it out of the addons block list.
    * "Ctrl+Shift+A" > find McAfee Site Advisor and use "Disable", and then restart Firefox.
    * Do a Google Search no problem
    * It seems that if you re-enable Site Advisor again, and restart Firefox you are okay. At least you know where to look if you get the error again or Google searches slow down.

  • Other than moving to Version 4 or 5, neither of which support Java which I need, is there a way to fix the "Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" bug I am getting in version 3.6.23?

I have used Version 4 and 5 and unfortunately neither supports Java functions that I require. I like the look and feel of 3.6.23 but there seems to be a script error on startup of Mozilla. When I double click the Icon to open the program I get "'''Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function'''" and so far haven't been able to locate the code line to fix it. I would rather not reverse Engineer the program.

This issue can be caused by the McAfee Site Advisor extension

  • Get error: "[Java Script Application] Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function"--huh?

This error is received a LOT (but not every time) when I try to select a link. This only started happening in the last few days. It's always received when I'm initially signing on. If I hit cancel or okay (there's only one option, I forget right now the exact wording) USUALLY the action then proceeds as I'd expect. But sometimes I'm presented with an incomplete web page.

Exc in ev handl: TypeError: this.oRoot.enable is not a function" i also faced this problm bt thanks to u .....its eliminated by doing my site advisor disabled.thanks a lot

  • Since update to 14.0.1 javascript error has appeared (this.transforms is undefined - 3-4 errors a second)

Our corporations phone system has a web interface that since the 14.0.1 update no longer works. I have tried to open it in safe-mode with no extensions enabled and making sure cache was cleared. In the error logs I see "this.transforms is undefined" and it repeats 3-4 times a second no matter how long the page is open. Many pages in the web interface have tabs and if I select a different tab the background changes but not the fields within it and all submit buttons are ignored.
This works in other browsers and works in older firefox versions so our temp quick fix was to tell staff to use Chrome until we have a chance to roll back on Firefox although we are unsure if Firefox will simply update again.

Interface is used all the time by any of our 400+ staff that wish to use their office desktop phones (it shows who's calling, pops up contact info, how call is routed to them etc.) And thus why I needed a quick fix and fast. I don't understand how this is a vendor issue as it works in other browsers and in older versions of Firefox. I rolled us back to version 12 and all is good but it now repeatedly tries to force an update. I'm staying away from 13 as it has issues with our Google Apps accounts.
I tried the firefox beta version and it fails in that version as well so version 14 and 15 of Firefox are a no go with our corporation.
Whether I use version 12 or another browser there are no errors when use debugging extensions, only if I use Firefox and the error is looping and never ends (between 3 and 4 errors appears in the log every second and never stop regardless how long I stay on the page. The error in Firefox remains even if opened in safe mode with no extensions/add-ons.
This isn't on one system so I know it's not just a single computer. We provide Chrome and Firefox on all our systems so users are told to use Chrome or roll back to version 12 of Firefox (we don't manage our clients computers only our staff but our phone system is a multi-vendor phone system so we use one system for us and our clients).

  • Trying to Create Recordset - "TypeError: this.node has no properties"

    Hi,
    First the BACKSTORY:
I created a database in myphpadmin and then created two tables within it.
Back in Dreamweaver, I created a couple of recordsets and that worked fine. BUT - when I tested a form I had created, I got a message in the Firefox window saying that a particular column could not have a null result. (This particular data was in the form as a pull down menu. There was no way to leave the thing blank, so how could there have been a null result)?
To correct this, I went back to myphpadmin and tinkered with the tables a bit by trying to imitate a database that seemed to work okay.
    MAIN QUESTION:
Again I returned to Dreamweaver, where I deleted the original recordsets and tried to create them from scratch again. This time when I tried to close the recordset dialog box, I got this message: "TypeError: this.node has no properties."
Does anyone know what this is about? (Any help on the first issue in the "BACKSTORY" would be much appreciated too).
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

I believe I answered my own question, though I'm not sure why it worked. If anyone has the same problem, maybe this will work for them too. I went into the server behaviors panel and deleted all the behaviors that seemed to be the result of my previous actions (which were all the behaviors there). This deleted code on the page as well. I hope this helps others.
