UCCE: Adding CVP in parallel with IP-IVR?

My newest project consist of adding a pair of CVP servers and move part of the logic currently handled by IP-IVR to CVP. The end result being that calls will arrive at ICM, go to IP-IVR, and only certain types of calls will then go back to ICM to be sent to CVP. From CVP the call will either end or be returned to ICM to be sent back to the IP-IVR. If anyone has done something similar I would love some pointers.
That being said, here's my question. We have a PG pair with two PGs (PG1 UCM, PG2 IP-IVR). So, our only option would be to add two new PIMs to PG2, right? I've never seen a configuration like that, but it's my understanding that it should work. Ideally, PG1 would have been for UCM and IP-IVR, however time is a big factor here and don't think we have the time to reconfigure the system to make it ideal.

Hello David,
You didnt mention whcih version of UCCE you are running but I am going to assume it is 7.5(x).
SRND for 7.5(x) has a sizing section which goes over the options for PG setups:

It shouldnt be too bad to change the CUCM PG to a generic PG and then add the IPIVR PIM to that. Other alternative is what you are asking and to just add the two CVP PIMs to your VRU PG2. Another possibilty is to add PG3 with the two CVP PIMs to that. SRND states that "Up to 2 PG types are permitted per server, provided that any given server is limited to the maximum agent and VRU port limitations outlined in Table 10-2." In this scenario you would have three PGs but two PG types ( 1 CUCM PG and 2 VRU PGs). So it seems that you have three options to think about.
The SRND should help though.

UCCE send a caller from agent to IVR and back to the same agent

I am trying to come up with a way to implement the following logic in UCCE 7.5 with IP IVR 7.0
A caller gets to an agent and requests a service that requires identification
The agent sends the caller back to IVR for identification
UCCE reserves the agent. If caller hangs up the agent is chaged back to ready state.
After authentication the caller is taken back to the same agent.
I am not sure how to do steps 3 and 4. I need to be sure that the agent will be available to take the call and not make the customer wait again in queue. I guess I just need a variable to store the agent ID and pass it to the other script so it can make a queue to agent step, but then how do I make the agent reserved or not ready (so he's not taken by another call) and then present the same call back to him? Then I need a way to monitor the customer's activity in IVR and notify the agent if the customer dropped the call.

I've been looking into the same thing, did you find a solution yet? I had considered letting the Agent do a transfer to the IVR, collect the Agent ID (or if possible the instrument number they were currently logged in with) for routing back to the Agent. Set the Agent to permanent Not Ready so they don't receive any other Contact Centre calls. Let the IVR play out as long as it takes without having to calculate for retries etc. or leaving long delays before the agent can be reached again. If I could only set the AgentID in the transfer script I would perform a database lookup on the ICM real time tables to find out what extension they were currently logged in with and route direct to that (reachable even if in the Not Ready state). The main implication of this would be that I would lose visibility of the remainder of this call with regards the skill group statistics. However, the default skill group could be set for each agent to account for this....not ideal as reporting would become more manual but still recorded at some level.

Error while adding a custom field with Input help via AET

Hi All,
I need to add two custom field under Service orders at Item level in component BT140I_SRVP.
One field is required to have the input search help f4 and autopopulates the second field
I am able to add one field(not requiring help) successfully through AET .
I have created one Zsearch_help in se11 and its successfully running and Autopopulating seocnd field while I am testing it
While adding second field through AET,I need to enter following details as -
field label,search relevant ,serach help etc.
When I type the name of my 'Zsearch_help' against field search help it gives me following error
'Search help is not compatible'.
Secondly,not getting getter and setter methods for the attrributes in BTAdminI.
Last,please tell me if i create zhelp and activate it,would it automatically appear in the list on AETwhile assiging it to input field?
Please help me out.Kindly be detailed as I am new to SAP CRM.

You cannot assign a default value = 'both' while the constraint allows only 'm' or 'd'.
This will work:
ALTER TABLE testchk ADD typechk VARCHAR2(5) DEFAULT 'both'

Error while reporting in parallel with ETL run!!!

It has been observed that when report is run in parallel with ETL, Report fails with following error:
Error during SQL execution: (DA0003)
Exception: DBD, ORA-12842: Cursor invalidated during parallel execution State: N/A
Please let know if we can run report in parallel with ETL.

thats correct. You should first load your DWH via ETL and then report off it.

Seems to be the Issue is Syncing emails, now I would recommend you to Remove and Add the Account and try and check if the emails are getting synced automatically.
Hope this is with Single User. If it is with Multiple Users then we need to check the permissions assigned.

VMware Fusion vs. Parallels (with Boot Camp) -- help please!

Hello. I have just reinstalled Mac OS X (Leopard) on my MacBook and am looking to install Windows XP SP2. I will be installing a Boot Camp partition -- I know that much -- but I also want to use Parallels or Fusions so that I have the option of running the Boot Camp partition within OS X. Somehow, over my years as a Mac user, I have acquired both of these applications (Fusion and Parallels), and I was wondering if anyone has any information on the differences between the two. Two questions:
1.) As I just mentioned, I'm just looking for any information on the differences between the two apps -- what features one offers that the the other doesn't -- why I might want to choose one over the other -- and so forth.
2.) Since I have both apps, would it be possible to have both installed at the same time? In other words, could I have both Fusion and Parallels installed on my computer, and then, when it comes time to open Windows, choose which app I want to open and use? (not sure there'd be any point to this, but just in theory, could it be done?)

Although I've never used Fusion before, I've installed Parallels with Boot Camp partition three or four times before on this computer, and it has always worked great for me, so I know I want to use Boot Camp. And as far as the application goes, sounds like I'll be using Parallels, mainly because it's what I'm used to. That Wikipedia link was exactly what I was looking for -- I had checked Wikipedia before I posted the topic here, but I didn't find that comparison page. Anyways, they look about the same (Parallels and Fusion, that is) for anything I'd be concerned with, but where there were any differences, they seemed to work in favor of Parallels (except for Linux-related features, in which Fusion seemed to have the upper hand, but I don't use Linux). Apps will always be tied to the account from which they were purchased.
If they were purchased from your husbands account, then they will have to update using that account.

I have 1000s of broken links after installing the latest version of iTunes and updating some files in my media folder. The location of my itunes library has not changed, and all the files are there (I know because I've just waited several hours for the files to be updated by my ultra-slow computer) - by my logic, there should be some menu option that simply re-synchronises with the media folder, just like itunes would do with an ipod - it can't be that hard can it? The only way I can restore a link is by clicking every song (I have over 28,000) and locating the file in the folder that iTunes claims to use as its media folder - the new version 10 option of then using this location to restore all broken links doesn't work because it only looks in the specific album file, and after a couple of times this dialog box no longer even comes up, so I couldn't ask it to do this even if I wanted to. At the moment the only option I can see is to completely wipe iTunes and re-load all my music from scratch - using my tired and over-worked computer this will realistically take around 15 hours that I don't have, and my computer will melt in the process. I wish I'd never tried to 'tidy up' my iTunes library...
PLEASE Apple, how hard can it be to have a function that searches for and restores broken links by itself????? I've told you where the music is - just flipping look for it yourself instead of getting me to do it!

You don't have to re-rip, re-import or re-download all your content. You can clear the iTunes library, either by selecting all in the libary and pressing the Delete key, saying "no" when it asks if you want to remove the files themselves, and then use the Add To Library command, selecting the iTunes Media folder (or iTunes Music folder, as applicable to your situation), and that will add back all your content. It shouldn't take more than a few minutes; if it does, something may be amiss with your hard drive or the library file is corrupted (in which case just delete the library file and re-do the Add To Library command).

I don't think he meant "Parallels", I think he just meant "parallel", with a little 'p'.
There are three options for running Windows software on an Intel-based Mac:
Virtualization: you can install software such as Parallels or VMWare (along with a licensed copy of Windows) which will emulate the environment necessary to run Windows software. Performance is significantly degraded, but you can work with both Windows and Mac software simultaneously.
Dual boot: You can use Apple's Bootcamp to partition your drive and create a CD of Windows drivers for your devices, so that you can then install Windows on one partition of your drive. Your Windows software will run just as it does on any other Windows PC, but you have to reboot to switch between Windows and OS X.
Crossover: Crossover is a product that allows you to run Windows programs in OS X without installing Windows. Not all Windows software will work with Crossover though.

I suggest that you run software update, after which you should have Safari 6.0.5 - then check Safari - Preferences - Privacy & see that 'Block cookies' is not set to Always.
Failing that - switch Safari extensions Off via Safari - Preferences - Extensions & test again

Can I use two "finite pulse train" to work in parallell with different freq.?

It will take four counters to generate two pulse trains with two different frequencies and number of pulses. As a workaround with your existing device, you can possible create a pulse train using one of the analog outputs, if it's available. Otherwise, you'll need either another MIO device or you could choose to use a TIO device (660x) which will have 4-8 counters.

It does already do this... unless you use manual updating. Under auto updating, tracks played on your iPod should up the count in iTunes on your next sync.
