UCCE - How to manage Agent & skillgroup in command line

Hi,
First thanks for your time to read this.
I'm looking for a way to manage in custom application the associations between agents and skillgroups. From what I've looked there isn't any API.
I was wondering if there is a command line bulk tool for this purpose.
Could anybody give me some lights up on this?
Thanks in advance.
RB

There used to be bulk load config tools, but they didn't do proper error checking as the GUI tools do.
I don't think there were ever bulk "change" (i.e. skill group member), or delete command-line tools.

  • How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used in vCSHB installation?

    How are Windows Server Backup and Command Line Tools used during the installation of vCSHB?  Is it required in all types of deployments (PtoV, VtoV, PtoP)? Is it used to create the files that are put in the file share for the second node to use during vCSHB installation or is it only used during a vCSHB clone operation of a Physical to Physical deployment?  Are these tools not used in some deployments?

    You need Windows Server Backup installed on source and destination, and during the installation of vCSHB the installer will invoke the wbadmin (Windows Server Backup Utility) and will backup configuration and application data (application data is optimal but can decrease the sync time after installation of secondary node). On the secondary node you will need only run the vCSHB installer and everything will be restored.
    Check this blog entry for some more info about some problems in P2P deployment: http://www.vcoportal.de/2013/12/vmware-vcenter-server-heartbeat-restore-on-a-second-node-a-journey/

    Dmitry,
    Thanks for the great writeup!
    I think I've got my universal instant client libraries built correctly.
    I too am using MacBook Pro but I'm getting stuck at building the 32 bit oci8.so
    First problem is my pecl download (ver 1.4.1) did not contain a "configure" file so ./configure failed.
    I used configure from /sw/....... to try to continue.
    Second problem. Using existing configure from /sw/.... I used an appropriate variation of your example command
    (./configure --with-oci8=instantclient,/usr/local/oracle/instantclient_10_2 && make).
    Things look like everything ran OK but The output does NOT include an oci8.so file
    So I guess my question is: Which "configure" should I be using? And if it is not the one on the system under /sw/...
    where would I get it since it doesn't come in the pecl download?

  • How many Management agents can you have running simultaneously on a host?

    Hi all,
    I've scoured the Oracle documentation and not been able to find a definitive answer to this question, how many Oracle management agents can you have on a single managed host target? Can you for example run an 11g agent and a 12c agent simultaneously (whilst migrating to 12c without upgrading the present OEM instance) If so can you run two 12c agents, each pointing to a different OMS? I’ve seen examples of an agent for each database instance on a host managed target, so a host with three Oracle database instances has three Oracle Management agents all pointing to the same OMS with each agent is monitoring just one of the database instances. There must be resource considerations here for memory, cpu and network traffic etc? I’ve always understood it to be one Oracle Management Agent per managed host
    Thanks

    I don't think there's any data on impact or performance since it's not a recommended configuration. If you have host/configuration monitoring enabled on both agents, they will be running the same queries/scripts against the host/inventory, etc. so they will likely have contention at some point. If you monitor the same databases, you will definitely see contention and increased overhead as there will be multiple agents running the same queries. You might also see problems w/ any of the server generated alerts (tablespace, etc) if you change thresholds as the agents send that to the database, and then the database will be out of sync with the other agents.
    What exactly is the goal for having multiple agents? Is it short term or long term?

  • Dumb question- how do I get to the command line without X running?

    Hi,
    As per the title please... I need to rerun Xorg -configure, but cannot for the life of me figure out how to shut down X and get to a command line
    Thanks

    Ctrl Alt F5 gets me to the command line, but I can't kill the X server
    Thanks though
    so with ctrl+alt+f5 you're at the console
    log in if you need to, then
    ps ax | grep gdm
    4441 ? Ss 0:00 /usr/sbin/gdm-binary
    4442 ? S 0:00 /usr/sbin/gdm-binary
    4444 tty7 SLs+ 3:38 /usr/bin/Xorg :0 -audit 0 -auth /var/lib/gdm/:0.Xauth
    6633 pts/0 S+ 0:00 grep gdm
    kill 4444
    the above example assumes gdm is your login manager so substitute whatever you're using, and you can kill the other instances of gdm (in my example processes 4441 and 4442 but don't waste your time on the grep process 6633
    now redo your X config
    (actually you could run this from a terminal from within X and it should have the same effect of dropping you back to console

  • JDev 10.1.3 how to invoke oc4j_remote_deploy.jar from command line?

    Hi, does anyone know how to invoke the JDev 10.1.3 oc4j_remote_deploy.jar from the command line? We have it working for 10.1.2, for automated deployment scripts.
    If I try the same thing for 10.1.3, I get an error.
    See below my command line and the output.
    I think the error is in the Oc4jDcmServlet URL, the format seems to have changed from 10.1.2 to 10.1.3.
    I tried to reverse-engineer by using an HTTP tracer, but that did not help.
    Any help would be much appreciated.

    In my opinion, you will succeed in handling linefeeds in output texts by using an <tt><af:outputFormatted></tt> tag in conjuction with a JSF converter that replaces the linefeeds with a <tt>&lt;br></tt> tag in the text. You will have to implement a custom converter class (this is quite simple, see below) and to set it to the <tt>converter</tt> attribute of the <tt><af:outputFormatted></tt>. The converter class should look like:
    public class MyLinefeedConverter implements javax.faces.convert.Converter
      public MyLinefeedConverter() {
      public Object getAsObject(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, String value) {
        return value;
      public String getAsString(FacesContext context, UIComponent component, Object value) {
        if (value==null) return "";
        if (value instanceof String) return ((String)value).replace("\n", "<br>");
        return value.toString();
    }In this way the linefeeds in your text values will be replaced by <tt>&lt;br></tt>, which will be rendered by the corresponding <af:outputFormatted> tag as line breaks.

    1- Is it because it depends on how jpr or jws are configured ?
    2- How can we automatically generate a build file of the application from command-line (as opposed to using Jdev IDE to click to generate a build.xml) ?

    The first  warning is happening because you're stating drivers for input devices without need. You haven't disabled hotplug so evdev gets used instead of kbd. This is normal, and you should change the driver line from kbd to evdev so that whatever options (if any) you've specified for the keyboard get parsed.
    The second warning is about you not installing acpid.
    The third I have no idea about, but look at the synaptics wiki. None of the (WW) are related to your video card.
    And every card that has 2 or more output ports show up as "two cards". You also don't need to specify the pci port in xorg.conf. edit: this is the general case with laptops, might be different for desktops.
    When I do lspci -v I get:

    And it doesn't matter if it errs in trying to sli up with it self. That's just not a possibility.

  • How do I get to a command line before X starts? I screwed up.

    I installed some drivers improperly, and now as I start up my system, it goes to X, which dies. How do I get to an Ubuntu like "recovery mode"? Where I can use a terminal to uninstall the package?

    You can try booting into single user mode and taking it from there. Also, if you're using the /etc/inittab method for starting X, you can try appending "3" to the kernel line (instead of "S", "Single" or "1"), and booting into runlevel 3 instead, which should leave you with a command line login prompt.

  • How to "Reload Domain" via Java / Command line

    Hi,
    I am looking for a way to do the same as the button "Reload Domain" in enterprise manager does, but I need to do it from command line or from java.
    We have multiple CMSDK nodes running on different servers. As the ifsctl command runs into very long timeouts if any of the servers is unavailable, we implemented a small java service that's deactivating all nodes in the node configuration table if the servers becomes unavailable. We need this as we have only a very tight timeframe for failover scenarios, so we cannot accept that the ifsctl takes a long time during startup.
    The problem we now have is that the Domain Controller remembers the configuration as it was during startup. So if any Node was disabled and is started later, the node guardian is not contacted by the domain controller. If the "Reload Domain" button is pressed, the domain controller refreshes it configuration and the additional nodes start their services.
    The whole stuff runs within Veritas Cluster, so we need to find a way to get everything up without manual intervention (pressing the button in enterprise manager).
    Thanks for any advice / help
    Alex

    Assuming your are using Ant underneath the covers to build inside of NetBeans (often the case), you can go to the directory where your NetBeans project resides and run "ant" from the command-line for the project's root directory (there should be a build.xml file in that directory). To do this, you'll need to have Ant installed (including having ANT_HOME defined in your environment) and you'll need to have JAVA_HOME defined in your environment and pointing to your Java SDK directory. This may sound like a lot of work (downloading and installing Ant and setting the environment variables), but it is probably the easiest way to build your NetBeans project from the command-line because it is likely that your particular NetBeans project is already using Ant to build. In fact, instead of downloading Ant, you could use the NetBeans installation of Ant as long as your ANT_HOME points to the NetBeans-provided Ant directory. You'll probably want to add $ANT_HOME/bin or %ANT_HOME%\bin to your PATH as well so that that can run "ant" from any directory.

  • How to run an executable from command-line

    I'm learning how to use the Terminal and I got stuck in a silly thing (I suppose it is). How can I run an executable file from command-line in Terminal?
    For example: I have a file named "Hello" in the folder /sample. If I use the ls command (ls sample), I can see the file Hello. Then I move to the directory (cd /sample) and try to run the file Hello (typing "Hello") but I got "command not found" message.
    If I drag the Hello file from Finder to Terminal and hit Return, it runs perfectly. And if I type the full path to the file (even if I'm already inside its directory), it also runs.
    So, my doubt is if there is any command to run an executable from command-line.
    Thanks

    I took the trouble of reading *man bash* and it explains the issue. to add the current directory to PATH you need to add an empty path to PATH like this
    PATH=$PATH::
    you can add it to ~/.bash_profile so that it's executed automatically when you start bash. I suspect the linux system you are talking about had this set up by default or had it added to PATH in /etc/profile which defines PATH globally.

    If you put that string after the name of the class you are running, then it's a command line parameter. Your main() method can look at args[0] to see it. However it would be better if you just put it before the name of the class, where it's supposed to go if you want it to be treated as a system property.
