UCM Including profile rules in custom checkin page

Hi ,
I am looking for a way to include ucm profile rules in our custom check in page.
Basically, we have a profile rule that includes custom metadata fields. We need to bring them over in our custom check in page.
Does anyone know how can we do it ?
For example, we have a HTMLDocumentRule with few application fields, and custom metadata.
So for a custom HTML Document Checkin page, we want all fields as part of HTMLDocumentRule to be part of the checkin page.
Thanks,
Sunil

Thanks Bunty..
I tried doing the same. We noticed all the standard document checkin fields getting enabled. Not the one defined in the profile.
I am assuming the custom check-in page is not getting aware of the dpTriggerValue="HTML Document"
Any ideas what we may be missing ?
Thanks,
Sunil

  • Migrating Content from a Custom ASP Page to a SharePoint Page Layout. Includes object tags to flash CSS images

    Hi Guys,
    I'm currently getting issues when trying to migrate content from ASP Pages used in a custom intranet developed by a client to SharePoint Pages.
    My current strategy to do so is as per below:
    a. Create ASPX Pages in Page Library with SharePoint Designer
    b. Copy all common resource files needed by the pages within the Pages library. Includes folders for Javascript, CSS, images etc. This way relative address of resources in pages will pick up pages library as default folder
    for resources.
    c. Copy Source Code of Page from Browser by right-clicking ‘View Page Source’/ Copy code from .asp file
    d. Clean the code to remove unnecessary codes from SharePoint Pages.
    At this point page renders without SharePoint Branding.
    However if I apply SharePoint Master Page onto the ASPX page by using Style > Attach > Default Master Page, this generates an Error when the page renders.
    What is missing in this approach or what would be the best approach to migrate the page to SharePoint without code solution?
    Grateful if you could help.
    Thanks
    Rhyan.

    Hi Rhyan,
    As I understand, you want to create a custom application page in SharePoint 2013.
    If you copy the code in the asp page to aspx page, it cannot work. You should write the new code that can work in the asp file for the SharePoint aspx page.
    There is a similar case:
    https://social.technet.microsoft.com/forums/sharepoint/en-US/0a97820a-59b9-4430-a98c-d2941803c38e/classic-asp-pages-to-sharepoint-pages-migration
    You can create a web application page in the visual studio. You also can explicitly change which master page is used by the application page by setting the MasterPageFile attribute of the application Page element. (For example: MasterPageFile="~/_layouts/applicationv4.master").
    The articles below are about creating application Pages for SharePoint.

  • Hide content ID from the Default checkin page.

    Hi..
    How to hide the default checkin page from the default checkin page. I get a checkin page in my Contribution Folders, where i can checkin items. There i need to hide Content Id.
    I already have rules and profiles which are working to hide Content ID at other places. But here it is not able to hide Content ID.
    I get the heading my that page as "Content Check In Form (Folder) " ..
    Can anyone tell me how to hide "Content ID" for this type...
    Thanks
    Saurabh Anand

    Hi,
    Use configuration variables IsAutoNumber=true at config.cfg file - Content ID (dDocName) is automatically assigned to each new content item upon checkin.

  • Transferring Custom Master-Page, Custom Page Layouts and Pages created to a new SharePoint Site.

    Hi All,
    I have a SharePoint 2013 Publishing Site for testing named 'Test'. In the Test I have created a Custom Master-Page and several Custom Page Layouts. Also using them I have created  several pages. Now they all are connected to the navigation. Now I want
    to transfer all the pages, custom master-page and custom page layouts to a new site (a publishing site) that will be used as production. Will I able to do this or not. Please advice me with best practices.
    Thanks and regards,
    Chiranthaka

    Hi Chiranthaka,
    thanks for posting your query, The master page can't be copied in designer and pasted into the new site collection. A better approach would be to bundle it into a feature and deploy it to the farm where it can't be activated and used.
    If you want to copy your master page to another site collection you can download your master page from the master page gallery and upload it to the the master page gallery of the second site collection. From the root site Site Actions > Site Settings
    > (Galleries)Master pages and page layouts
    If you want to deploy the same master page to multiple site collections using a feature, create a module in Visual Studio, add your custom master page to the module, and create an element manifest something like this:
    <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
    <Module Name="Master Pages" List="116" Url="_catalogs/masterpage" RootWebOnly="TRUE">
    <File Path="Master Pages\MyCustom.master" Url="MyCustom.master" Type="GhostableInLibrary"></File>
    </Module>
    </Elements>
    The basic idea is to have your site-scoped feature include a module that copies your custom master page from the file system to the masterpage gallery. Since the feature folder is shared, the same master page gets copied to the site collection master page
    gallery whenever you activate the feature.
    I hope this is helpful to you, mark it as Helpful.

  • Profile rule for Date

    Hi,
    I need to execute a profile rule.
    My requirement is - a new field "Created date time" date type which should always show the date time it was initially created.
    I have put in a rule as
    <$ifparseDate(#active.xCreatedateTime) IS NULL$>
         <$dprDerivedValue=#active.dlndate$>
    <$endif$> "
    but nothing comes on teh Content Information page.
    I even tried giving it a default value as dlndate but get eror that it is not able to parse teh date.
    "<$parseDate(#active.dlnDate)$>"
    Kindly help.
    Regards
    Shashwat

    Odd. Mine works perfectly, once you fix the code syntax issues. "IS NULL" is not a valid IdocScript construct, and dIndate is not a valid field name (try "dInDate"). Don't use dInDate for this situation anyway. That's not the "creation date" -- dCreateDate is the system "creation" date.
    If the target field name is "xCreatedateTime"
    <$if not #active.xCreatedateTime$>
    <$dprDerivedValue=#active.dCreateDate$>
    <$endif$>
    Verify that your custom field name is actually called "xCreatedateTime". Field names are case-sensitive.
    The actual utility of this particular custom field is questionable. It makes more sense to write a customization that just shows the value for dCreateDate. Why put the same data in multiple fields?

  • Add Right Side Column and Web Parts to custom Master page in SharePoint Online

    Hello everyone,
    I hope this is a simple question, however I was fighting the issue it presents for a while. I am in the process of customizing SharePoint Online Look-and-feel with a new layout.
    The site collection was created as a
    Team Site before I got involved with the project, and populated with numerous sub-sites and pages. I activated required
    publishing features, created html with corresponding styles and graphics, and used the Design Manager to convert the html file to the custom Master page. While SharePoint automatically assigned “ContentPlaceHolderMain” div area, I
    also used default Oslo page as example to copy sections of the code for dynamic components (left column and navigation, recent items, the ribbon, etc.) from it and placed them in my new master page, pointed all CSS references to
    my custom style sheets, etc. Everything works great, however I need to make one last addition -
    my task is to make changes to display web parts such as Calendar and Recent Documents in the right column in the Master page.
    My custom layout has a header, footer, main pan and two side columns. Most of the default master templates come with the LEFT column already embedded and populated with several placeholder
    to serve dynamic content (PlaceHolderLeftNavBarTop, PlaceHolderQuickLaunchTop, PlaceHolderLeftNavBarDataSource, PlaceHolderLeftActions, so on).
    My challenge is that I have the RIGHT side column as well, for which I don’t think the default placeholder exists. I need to add a small Calendar box and Recent Documents parts to it, so they
    display across the entire site governed by this master page.
    The issue is –
    even after activating Publishing features (enabled SharePoint Server Publishing Infrastructure under Site Collection Level, and SharePoint Server Publishing under the Site
    Level), there is no Snippet feature (usually available under the generic Publishing Site); this customization of the Team Site allows using Designer and apply custom templates, themes, so on, just like you would under the Publishing collection, but not the
    Snippet utility I could use as the solution to embed the web parts on the master page.
    Recreating the entire site under Publishing Collection is not an option due to the directions I was given, I am to use this existing one, and need to see if
    there is a workaround to either activate the Snippet feature or use another solution to display the web parts inside of the column in the Master page.
    If the only solution is to use Web Part Zone, what are the steps to add it AND populate it with the abovementioned apps?
    Can anyone suggest how to create a workaround and add this feature? The environment is role-based so both elements need to be dynamically rendered based on the user’s role and activities.
    I am more of a front end designer than developer, so if any custom coding and set up required, please kindly provide some basic steps, if possible?..
    I greatly appreciate any help and suggestions!
    Thank You!
    Jeff
    Jeff V.

    Updating your Master Page to also include a right rail should be sraight forward enough with a new div or divs in your master page and then the proper styles to make room for this column as well as position the column.
    I have not seen why you cannot find the snippet gallery link when previewing a HTML Master Page in the browser. Have you tried loading the snippet gallery by its url? As an example, for my tenant on SPO, I can load the Snippet Gallery for the olso.master
    with the following url:
    https://pixelmill.sharepoint.com/_layouts/15/ComponentConfigureControls.aspx?ComponentName=TopNavigationNoFlyoutWithStartNode&Url=%2F_catalogs%2Fmasterpage%2Foslo.master
    Change the domain to match yours as well as update the "Url" querystring var to point to your master page. See if that loads the snippet gallery.

  • Having issues with custom master pages and device channels

    I'm working in Sharepoint 2013 and am attempting to create a custom master page that is to be used by mobile devices. I have created an html file and a custom css file that includes snippets from the design manager. The file appears to preview fine in a
    browser from Microsoft Web Expression. I have loaded the html file into sharepoint via design manager, so the master file is there as well. The css files are in the style library for the site collection and I have created a device channel including user agent
    strings for iphones going back to the iPhone 4 and operating systems going back to iOS 6. I have obviously assigned my custom "mobile" master for that device channel and I have turned off mobile browsing. However when I open the site on my phone
    it shows the normal full desktop view and not my custom master. I will include my html code, my css and a screenshot of my device channel below. Please help!
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?><!--SPG:
    This HTML file has been associated with a SharePoint Master Page (.master file) carrying the same name. While the files remain associated, you will not be allowed to edit the .master file, and any rename, move, or deletion operations will be reciprocated.
    To build the master page directly from this HTML file, simply edit the page as you normally would. Use the Snippet Generator at https://otterbein.sharepoint.com/sites/Committees/_layouts/15/ComponentHome.aspx?Url=https%3A%2F%2Fotterbein%2Esharepoint%2Ecom%2Fsites%2FCommittees%2F%5Fcatalogs%2Fmasterpage%2Fmobile%5Ftest%5Fmaster%2Emaster to create and customize useful SharePoint entities, then copy and paste them as HTML snippets into your HTML code. All updates to this file will automatically sync to the associated Master Page.

    Hi,
    The issue is likely not your HTML Master Page but your user agent string. Try a user agent string of just "iphone". To test your master page, you could also set the user agent to "MSIE", which should cause this master page to load for
    any version of IE. This will help you debug the master page as well in your normal browser.

  • User detail in custom master page

    Hi All,
    I want to make appear logged in user detail in master page.
    In SharePoint 2013, User can see "about me" detail in System account appearing at top right corner.
    I want same user detail to appear in custom master page. I am not sure where we can look for it.
    I guess we need to copy user detail tag from oslo master page and can paste in our custom master page.
    But i am not sure where to find this.
    Any help is much appreciated.
    Thanks..
    Rakesh

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to display user information in the master page.
    We can register SPSWC at the top of the master page to call the user profiles.
    Register SPSWC at the top of the master page:
    <%@ Register Tagprefix="SPSWC" Namespace="Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.WebControls" Assembly="Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal, Version=14.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c" %>
    Register the propertys below the starting Form tag:
    <SPSWC:ProfilePropertyLoader runat="server"/>
    There are some good articles for your reference.

  • How can I delete a fixed profile rule in a Linksys ATA?

    I have a Linksys SPA2100 ATA that I used with a previous VoIP provider. I did a factory reset but their profile rule is still listed in the first Profile Rule section under the Provisioning tab. Profile Rule B, C and D are blank and I can enter a profile rule in there but I can't delete the main profile rule because it is fixed. I can't highlight it and delete it for some reason. There must be another way to delete this profile. This is what is listed there minus the name of the provider. I attached a screen shot too. Thanks.
    Profile Rule: https://spa.act.voip.xxxxxx.com/$PN/stub.bin

    Hi billcanada,
    Take a look at your SPA2102's Voice tab > Info tab > Product Information > Customization:
    It should contain "Open"
    If not, you've got what is known as an "RC-unit" which is what we sell to many service providers allowing them to customize and lock the unit down. Given that you've got admin access, try the following [but don't be disappointed if it doesn't work]:
    1. Enable debug on the SPA2102
    2. Write a simple config file called spa2102.cfg whose contents include:
      Yes
      /spa$PSN.cfg
    3. Save the spa2012.cfg file in the root of your TFTP server
    4. Start the TFTP server
    5. Start Wireshark on the subnet to which the ATA is connected
    6. Power-cycle the ATA
    7. Once it's booted, try and force a resync of your ATA using your browser: htttp://ataIPaddress/admin/resync?tftp://ipAddrOfTftpServer/spa2102.cfg
    8. Verify with Wireshark that the ATA requested and received the /spa2102 file
    9. Use a browser to determine if your config file overwrote the grayed-out Profile_Rule in the web-UI

  • Presence indicators not working on pages using custom master page

    I have a SP 2013 publishing site. I crated a custom master page using Randy Drisgill's starter master page for SP2013. All good so far. Then I created a page to hold a people search (refinement, search box and search results web parts). The search results
    show the staff info and photo but the colour to the left of the image is not there. They are all white. Also when you hover over the image you don't get the popup to send an email or start an IM.
    I initially though it must have been an issue with some of the javascript that my custom master page has included such as jQuery. Swapping back to the Seattle OOTB master page the presence indicators appeared, but it took a long time after the swap - like
    the JS was cached and when I swapped back to my custom master page the presence stuff worked for a little while before disappearing again.
    Then in IE developer tools I noticed that if I set it to use 10 instead of Edge the presence indicators always work. As soon as swapping back to Edge they die.
    So I'm confused as to whether it is a conflict with jQuery or some other JS on my master page or if it is that the IM presence indicators don't work in Edge.
    Has anyone had a similar experience and found an answer?

    No my master page does not have that in it. That is in Randy's 2010 starter master page but not in his 2013 one.
    The issue appears to be this line in the master page which was forcing IE to use Edge rendering engine which the init.js code must not be compatible with.
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge,chrome=1">
    Switching to using IE 10 works.
    <meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=10" />

  • Problem using jsp:include from inside a custom tag

    Hi, All !
              I have a problem using <jsp:include> from inside a custom tag. Exception is:
              "java.lang.ClassCastException: weblogic.servlet.jsp.BodyContentImpl"
              Apparently, weblogic tries to cast BodyContentImpl to JspWriterImpl and
              could not do this. Is it a bug, since in the 1.1 spec is said: "The
              BodyContent is a subclass of JspWriter that can be used to process body
              evaluations so they can retrieved later on."
              My code is:
              <wfmklist:items>
              <jsp:include page="item.jsp" flush="true"/>
              </wfmklist:items>

    This is an area of contention with WL. It is not so tolerant with regards to
              the spec. I spent several days recently trying to convince it to accept the
              specification in regards to bodies and includes and it appears to have
              successfully rebuffed my efforts.
              Frankly, this is very disappointing. It appears that some shortcuts were
              taken on the way to JSP 1.1 support, and the result is a very hard-coded,
              inflexible implementation. As I have not seen the implementation myself, I
              hate to assume this, however one could posit that the term "interface" was a
              foreign concept during the implementation, other than as some annoying
              intermediary reference requiring an immediate cast to a specific Weblogic
              class, which in turn is apparently required to be final or have many final
              methods, as if being optimized for a JDK 1.02 JIT.
              I am sorry that I don't have any positive suggestions other than to use a
              URL object to come back in an execute the necessary "include" directly. You
              lose all context (other than session) and that can cause its own problems.
              However, you can generally get the URL approach to work, and you will
              hopefully avoid further frustration.
              Peace,

  • Migration to UCM11g: Profile rules get messed up post migration.

    Hi,
    We are trying to migrate from UCM10gR3 to UCM11g. We are facing problems when importing the content archive into ucm11g install.
    Import failure happens due to wrong set of rules getting applied during the import, i.e. some inconsequential metadata fields becoming mandatory while fields that needs to become mandatory don't.
    How do i debug the source of the problem. I have done the following until now.
    Verified the CMU import from 10gR3 for errors, and everything seems to have come through fine. Did not see any issues there.
    Post import, compared profile rules between 10gR3 to 11g, and they match line to line. I dont see any difference at all between 10gR3 and 11g.
    Enabled profile tracing and compared the logs when checkin happens in 10gR3 and 11g, Rules getting initialized and activated as same other than the final import exception that we see in case of 11g. Following is the exception.

  • Placing the custom OA page inplace of seeded page

    Hi ,
    I am working on Oracle customers online data librarian
    Here are the steps for seeing the seeded page .ie on click of data quality tab-> shows list of records->on click of MAP on a record-> forwards to next page which has a profile attributes link. on click of profile attributes a page is rendered which is oracle seeded page .Instead of this page i want to show my custom page .
    So where to change the page instead of seeded page ..else any new hyperlink below the profile attributes say myProfile attributes and show the custom OA Page .
    All i want to how to place a new hyper link in cue card..on OAF
    Thanks

    You will have to understand the way the page is getting called and make change there to modify the call to refer to the custom page.
    Now based on the exact method of the page call and parameters required to be sent, modification can be done either through personalization and/or extension.

  • Custom Master Page - CSS & Dynamic Display

    I have created a css file and attached it using Site Settings> Master Page> Alternate CSS URL.  This works really well and I get the customisations for the global navigation drop-downs as below including colours size etc.
    For my drop-downs, I'm wanting three levels of fly-out.  So, I created a custom master page from seattle.html and even before I made the change to
    MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels="3" - I set this new page as the default.  When I look at the site now, the CSS customisations are not showing (see below).
    The new master page is not applying my css file.  Any ideas why?
      MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels="2"
      MaximumDynamicDisplayLevels="2"

    Thanks for the suggestion but this didn't seem to help.  I've pasted below the whole contents in my .css file.  Anything you can see that is out of place?
