Udev and gcombust configuration

Hi.
How does one configure gcombust to work with udev?  (I have no problems with devfs.) gcombust seems to run cdrecord in a pretty straight-forward way behind the scenes, but it needs to pass a correct CD-writer address/specification to work properly. In particulary, it wants one of two possible ways of specifying the CD writer:
1. specification of the (SCSI-bus, target, lun) triplet such as (0,0,0) or
2. a SCSI device specification such as /dev/sga.
The machine is running Arch Linux kernel 2.6.8.1-1.

These correspond to the devices /dev/hda and /dev/hdd. This is how they are identified, for example, in K3B (which I can get to work properly under devfs and udev).
The SCSI specifications (0,0,0) and (1,1,0); and the alternative device specifications /dev/hda and /dev/hdd do not work properly under udev.
I've also tried without success the following 'reasonable' devices in /dev:
/dev/cdroms/cdrom0
/dev/cdroms/cdrom1
/dev/sg0
/dev/sg1
/dev/sg2
I don't see '/dev/pg*' in /dev.

actually this sort of issue is exactly why i went back to devfs. i was having issues trying to get transcode to work. i never tried /mnt/cd but someone told me they had to use that in some application in order for it to mount/use the dv/cdrom device. so you could try /mnt/<devicename> in place of /dev/<whatever>.
