UDP communication from different computers

I am doing a project that will send a file from a server to client using UDP protocol. This project is done with JDK1.4 in WindowsXP OS.
Everything was fine when I send and receive datagramPacket within one computer. However when I install server-side program in another computer in my home and try to connect them with my program, the server doesn't have any reply. When I check the network status, it seems the client doesn't even send out one packet to server. These two computers can be connected by ping command.
Does anyone know how to solve this problem? How can I connect two computers by UDP protocol?

Gathering documents from different computers?

Im writing a project on about 100 pages, we are seven students writing it, and we are all contributim by writing from different computers using different writing programs. This means that I have to gather documents with different margins, spacings etc. when im finnishing the projekt.
How can I make all margins, spacing etc. the same? And exactly what should I remember to change, in order to get the document to look like it was written from one computer?

Well my first initial thought would be close to what you are describing, to gather all documents in one document, mark it all and start changeing, but what I want to make sure is to what settings I need to be aware of, are there other than margins, font, spacings? There are different spacings from when you hit enter to a new line to when you press the tabulator to indent a new line. Just clicking on the i button and then the T, alot of different settings comes up concerning different spacings, linings etc.

Adobe Presenter: working from different computers transferring files

I am using Adobe presenter. I need to work from home, so have copied my powerpoint and all its associated adobe presenter audio files from one location to another. I used to be able to do this without problems. However, it seems I'm no longer able to do it: I open powerpoint and go to the adobe presenter toolbar and try to record more audio and clearly the system shows no audio is associated with this file. Getting out of adobe presenter makes the system delete the folder with associated audio files (it seems it is not linking them properly, but still recognising them as adobe presenter audio files and deleting them as if to start recording from scratch).
Can anyone help? how can I work on the same files from different computers without losing the data (or the links) in between?

Hi folks
One way to achieve this easily is by using DropBox. This will create a folder that you sync to the cloud. Then you create a Dropbox on the second computer and whatever you change and save is automatically updated and transferred to the other computer keeping them in sync. Works really well.

Yes, Firefox Sync merges and adds all the info in all the profiles. It doesn't delete the information on any of them. That way you will have the information from any of your devices in the rest of the devices.

If you want to connect and use an iPod on more than one computer change the update setting on your iPod to manual. Connect your iPod to the computer you are using it on now an in iTunes go to Edit>Preferences>iPod and check the "Manually manage songs and playlists" box:

The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.

Dowloading Music onto iPod from different computers

I have a PC & a laptop, each having different music on them...my question is, I had downloaded songs to my iPod mini & then later on plugged it into the laptop to download different songs & it erased all my music that was downloaded from the pc! Is it not possible to use different computers with your iPod?

The reason why iTunes erased your library is because you are copying music from 2 different libraries. iTunes only lets you have 1 library to prevent music stealing.

Publishing from different computers.

I just got iWeb and an iMac. I already had an iBook on which i installed iLife 06 (forget waiting for any new releases).
Anyway, I made a site on the iMac and published it to .Mac. I then made one on my laptop and published that also to .Mac. Only one site shows up at a time - the last one I published. Kinda like it preempts the previous page. They have different names so I don't really know what the problem is. I logged out of my .Mac account and cleared the browser cache.
The first time I went to .lMac on the log in page it showed a link to one of the pages under, of course, Pages. Now, nothing shows.
Both sites are in the Sites folder on my iDisk.
What gives?

Maybe I didn't explain myself well tho - I published 2 separate sites, from 2 different computers to 1 .Mac account. However, only 1 is showing up when I type in: web.mac.com/user name. When I go to .Mac where it lists my homepages, etc. it also doesn't list the iWeb page (or site). It only lists my homepages.
Any help is appreciated and I have bookmarked those other links as I am sure I will be needing them.

How do I import songs from different computers with home sharing?

I am trying to share music from my Macbook Pro to my father's Mac Desktop. I was able to get the 'home sharing' to work; I can see and play my father's music and he is able to play mine too. I was trying to import the songs but I am not able to copy & paste and I do not see an 'import' button at the bottom right of our windows when selecting songs. Am I missing a step or is there something else I do not know?

After researching through the forums, I figured it out. You have to make sure you are logged in under the same account on both computers. At first I was logged under my account on my computer and logged in under my father's account on my father's computer. You have to choose one account to log in under on both computers and then you will be abler to import songs from both computers. If you do not log in under the same account, you will be able to listen to both computers' music, but not import.

Simple word of advice. Put itunes on an external drive rather than use internal memory. then wherevevr you are and whatever computer you are using all you need is the external drive

Printing from different computers using WIFI

I've got Wifi at home. My wife and I have different computers, I'm Mac and She's PC, and I'd like to set up wireless printing using the wifi. Can someone point me to a page that will educate me on how to do this? I remember seeing something about this capability in SnowLeopard, but I have no clue where to start.

Publishing web from different computers, help needed

Wanna work on my web from different Macs, so I followed the guide line to copy out the "domain" file from my company's machine then move it home. After working with my Mac at home, I tried to publish it to Mobileme.
But I found counter I put on the front page isn't working anymore, so does anyone here knows how to solve it?

Also, test your site to ensure that the files are being uploaded. Try selecting ftp to a folder option in iWeb instead of ftp to MobileMe and open your site on your desktop to see if the hit counter shows up there.
