Udp 發送大於64K資料產生錯誤 113 ,buffer不足

大家好
我必須用UDP送出大於64k的封包而遇到緩衝區不足的錯誤 113。查過說明發現可藉由設定Wsock.dll method: setsockopt: optionnameo_sndbuf.的方式來增加windows UDP sending buffer,但是個錯誤還是未解。詳細內容我寫在英文的討論區中
http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Increase-UDP-sending-size-over-64k-bytes-and-get-error-113/td-p/3051...
還請各路高手解惑,謝謝

Dear Reader,
I regret for the caps letter.  I am sending you my code UDP try and udp try receive. I am facing 113 error. You can run it simultaneously in two system and see to yourself. I am a beginner in LabVIEW. I am happy to get your help.

    DEAR READERS
I AM A BEGINNER LEVEL LABVIEW APPLICATION ENGINEER. I AM TRYING TO COMMUNICATE TWO SYSTEMS(MY LAPTOP AND COMPUTER) USING UDP PROTOCOL IN LABVIEW.  I HAVE CODED THE REQUIRED IN BOTH THE SYSTEM. I AM FACING ERROR WHEN I RUN BOTH THE SYSTEM SIMULTANEOUSLY.
THE ERROR NUMBER IS 113 AND 56 SOMETIMES.
ERROR 113 SAYS THAT THE MESSAGE SENT ON A DATAGRAM SOCKET WAS LARGER THAN THE INTERNAL MESSAGE BUFFER OR SOME OTHER NETWORK LIMIT OR THE BUFFER USED TO RECEIVE A DATAGRAM WAS SMALLER THAN THE DATAGRAM ITSELF.
WHAT SHOULD I DO TO REMOVE THESE ERROR 56 AND ERROR 113???

First, make sure you correct the mask in the crypto ACL, per my other post.
You should check with the other admin and make sure your crypto ACLs are exact mirrors of each other. It wouldn't be a bad idea to put a sniffer on the WAN side to see if you can detect asymmetrical operation (packets that should be encapsulated, but are not).
It looks like the pool (192.168.100.0 255.255.255.248) is not part of a policy push from the other crypto endpoint.
Are they actually using a /24 mask on their side, or is that an assumption on your part?
Could it be that they are actually using a mask greater than /24 so as to not have an overlap?
My concern was how a host on the far side with a /24 mask would initiate/respond to a host on your side. The host on their side would ARP your host believing it was directly reachable, due to the mask.
Perhaps this might be resolved with "ip proxy-arp" configured on the internal interface of their router.
Is their 192.168.100.0 /? network the connected network on the inside of their router, or buried deeper in their topology?

  • SocketChannel.write() blocking application

    Greets,
I'm developping a huge application and got a latency/block problem using the write(ByteBuffer) method on a Socket from a socketchannel connection.
Running java 1.5 (diablo) on Freebsd 6 servers, 4Gb ram (2.2 allocated to jvm), with dual xeon dual-core (total 4 cores)
Here is the application schema :
    - A thread accepting connexion on the socketchannel
    - A thread selecting keys with data to process, enqueuing it after some basic checks on a command FIFO
    - A thread getting commands from the FIFO and processing 'em, generating answers on 4 answer FIFOs
    - 4 threads (1 per FIFO) to get answers and send 'em back to the socket.
The application usually runs with 4500-5000 simultaneous clients.
My problem is that the only write() method sometimes takes over 20ms to write a message, with a length smaller than 50 bytes.
As I got about 25000 answers to process each second, when some of 'em decide to be slow, the 4 threads runs slowly, and all the connected clients are suffering of that latency, for the few minutes needed to empty the FIFOs.
Every client socket get about 5 answers per second.
On about 1 hour running, there are about 3 'peaks' of slowness, that I cannot explain yet. That's why I'm in need of advices !
I monitored the application when such case happens. TOP indicates 40% cpu idle, JVM memory got >500Mb free, network runs @ about 1.2Mbps, where maximal transfer rate is >20Mbps. netstat -m told me no erros, and a large amount of free buffers available.
As the only slow process is the write() method that usually runs faster than 1ms each call, but in those case I got delays over 20ms.
freebsd tcp default sendbuffer size is 64k, receive buffer is 32k
Commands average received size is below 1k, Answers average sending size below 8k.
This application is running live, and as I cannot emulate 5000+ connections with a similar beahviour to test withour being sure that won't crash all.
What points could be responsible of such slow write() calls ? Seems it's not CPU, not RAM, not network itself...
I suppose it's the network buffers that are causing problems. But I don't really know if I have to fit 'em to a lower size, fitting my requirements, or to a larger size, to be sure there won't be full buffers blocking all ?
I need advices. Thanks for your ideas !
    Bill

Hmm. So you're happy to lose data?
    A few comments:
    (a) SocketChannels are thread-safe. I don't think you need the synchronization at all, unless maybe multiple writing threads are possible. I would eliminate that possibility and the sync myself.
    (b) If you're getting write delays of 30ms occasionally, the sync must also take 30ms at the same points if it is doing anything at all, i.e. if the possibility of multiple writing threads does exist. So maybe it doesn't?
    (c) I would have a good look at this:
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=459338
and specifically the part on how to manage a channel that presents write blocks, using OP_WRITE when it happens and turning it off when it doesn't.
    (d) You seem to be using one output buffer for all channels. You might be better off using a small one per channel. Then that way you don't clear, you just do put/flip/write/compact, and if the write returned 0 just post OP_WRITE for next time around the select loop. Then you won't lose any data at all, except to a client who really isn't reading: you can detect that situation by keeping track of the last successful write time to a channel, and when there is pending data and the last write is too long ago have a think about what the block means in terms of the application. Maybe you should just disconnect the client?
    (e) It would be interesting to know how many times the write loop looped when you get these large delays, and also what the data size was, and also to know that for the other cases to see if there is a difference.
    (f) Generally from a fairness point of view I prefer not to have write loops, just one attempt and if it returns even a short read I post OP_WRITE as above. Otherwise you're spending too long servicing one channel.
You can contact me offline via http://www.telekinesis.com.au if you like.

  • Pipelined function with huge volume

    Hi all,
I have a table of 5 million rows with an average length of 1K for each row (dss system).
My SGA is 2G and PGA 1G.
I wonder if a pipelined function could support a such volume ?
Does anyone have already experienced a pipelined function with a huge volume ?
    TIA
    Yang

    Hello
Well, just over a month later and we're pretty much sorted. Our pipelined functions were not the cause of the excessive memory consumption and the processes are are now no longer consuming as much PGA as they were previously. Here's what I've learnt.
    1. Direct write operations on partitioned tables require two direct write buffers to be allocated per partition. By default, these buffers are 256K each so it's 512K per partition. We had a table with 241 partitions which meant we inadvertently allocating 120MB of PGA without even trying. This is not a problem with pipelined functions.
    2. In 10.2 the total size of the buffers will be kept below the pga_aggregate_target, or 64k per buffer, whichever is higher. This is next to useless though as to really constrain the size of the buffers at all, you need a ridiculously small pga_aggregate_target.
    3. The size of the buffers can be as low as 32k and can be set using an undocumented parameter "_ldr_io_size". In our environment (10.2.0.2 Win2003 using AWE) I've set it to 32k meaning there will be 64k worth of buffers allocated to each partition significantly reducing the amount of PGA required.
    4. I never want to speak to Oracle support again. We had a severity 1 SR open for over a month and it took the development team 18 days to get round to looking at the test case I supplied. Once they'd looked at it, they came back with the undocumented parameter which worked, and the ridiculous suggestion that I set the PGA aggregate target to 50MB on a production box with 4GB and 300+ dedicated connections. No only that, they told me that a pga_aggregate_target of 50MB was sensible and did so in the most patronising way. Muppets.
So in sum, our pipelined functions are working exceptionally well. We had some scary moments as we saw huge amounts of PGA being allocated and then 4030 memory errors but now it's sorted and chugging along nicely. The throughput is blistering especially when running in parallel - 200m rows generated and inserted in around 1 hour.
To give some background on what we're using pipelined functions for....
We have a list of master records that have schedules associated with them. Those schedules need to be exploded out to an hourly level and customised calendars need to be applied to them along with custom time-zone-style calculations. There are various lookups that need to be applied to the exploded schedules and a number of value calculations based on various rules. I did originally implement this in straight SQL but it was monsterous and ran like a dog. The SQL was highly complex and quite quickly became unmanageable. I decided to use pipelined functions because
    a) It immensely simplified the logic
    b) It gave us a very neat way to centralise the logic so it can be easily used by other systems - PL/SQL and SQL
    c) We can easily see what it is doing and make changes to the logic without affecting execution plans etc
    d) Its been exceptionally easy to tune using DBMS_PROFILER
So that's that. I hope it's of use to anyone who's interested.
I'm off to get a "pipelined fuinctions rule" tattoo on my face.

  • ARP over Computer-to-Computer Network with WEP?

    Howdy All,
I have two Macs running OSX 10.4.8. I want to connect them with a Computer-to-Computer Airport network (not an Airport Base Station) with static IP routing between them, but NOT using Internet Sharing.
If I setup the Computer-to-Computer networking using WEP then ARP packets don't seem to get through (across the wireless). If I recreate the Computer-to-Computer networking without the WEP then the connection works fine.
When I setup a Computer-to-Computer networking in Airport does it filter ARP packets for some reason (or perhaps it doesn't need them with Internet Sharing)? Can I create a computer to computer network some other way?
I don't want to use Internet Sharing because of the NAT it creates.
Thanks in advance for any advice / suggestions.
    Cheers,
    Ashley.

    Hi BDAqua,
Thanks for your post. Unfortunately, I don't believe I explained things clearly. I am trying to do IP routing from one machine to the other without using the NAT that Internet Sharing would give me.
I can get it to work fine when I have a computer-to-computer network without WEP security, e.g. I can ping each machine from the other. However, if I recreate the c-to-c wireless network with WEP it doesn't work.
A tcpdump suggests that the ARP packets aren't getting through the computer-to-computer network when WEP is on. Here is a portion of the output from tcpdump:
    18:46:43.826657 arp who-has 192.168.49.7 tell 192.168.49.4
    18:46:44.949274 arp who-has 192.168.49.7 tell 192.168.49.4
    18:46:45.950094 arp who-has 192.168.49.7 tell 192.168.49.4
    18:46:47.074291 arp who-has 192.168.49.7 tell 192.168.49.4
    18:46:48.075014 arp who-has 192.168.49.7 tell 192.168.49.4
    18:46:57.361050 IP 192.168.49.4.ipp > 192.168.49.255.ipp: UDP, length: 113
    18:46:59.448638 IP 192.168.49.4.ipp > 192.168.49.255.ipp: UDP, length: 129
    18:47:02.463678 IP 192.168.49.4.ipp > 192.168.49.255.ipp: UDP, length: 94
    18:47:03.528851 IP 192.168.49.4.ipp > 192.168.49.255.ipp: UDP, length: 146
Of course, both machines have the same WEP password etc. It may be something to do with how Apple creates the c-to-c wireless network when WEP is used, I don't know.
Hopefully that makes it clearer. BTW, Personal Filesharing was on and the Firewall was off in both cases.
    Cheers,
    Ashley.

This is NOT using "Internet Sharing" (i.e. it is off). I don't want the NAT that comes with that!
System preferences shows both machines are connected to the "Computer-to-Computer" network W.
Pinging the other machine from either side I get:
    ping: sendto: Host is down
    ping: sendto: Host is down
    ping: sendto: Host is down
    ping: sendto: Host is down
    ping: sendto: Host is down
    ping: sendto: Host is down
ping: sendto: No route to host
Again, if I create the network without WEP security with the same configuration, the pings work fine.

  • Increase UDP sending size over 64k bytes and get error -113,sending buffer not enough

    Dear all,
I have a case that I must send a data over 64k bytes in a socket with UDP . I got a error-113 shows "A message sent on a datagram socket was larger than the internal message buffer or some other network limit, or the buffer used to receive a datagram was smaller than the datagram itself.".I searched for this issue and got the closest answer as below:
    http://digital.ni.com/public.nsf/allkb/D5AC7E8AE545322D8625730100604F2D?OpenDocument
It said I have to change buffer size with Wsock.dll. I used the same mathod to increaes the send buffer to 131072 bytes by choice optionname to so_sndbuf (x1001) and give it value with 131072 and it worked fine without error. However I still got an error 113 while sending data with " UDP Write.vi ". It seems UDP write.vi reset the buffer size? Are there any other things cause the error?
I attached example code. In UDP Sender.vi you can see I change send buffer size to 131072 and send date included a 65536 bytes data. There is also a UDP receiver.vi and there is some missing VI which you can get from the LINK. But it's not necessary.

The header for a UDP packet includes a 16 bit field that defines the size of the UDP message (HEADER AND DATA)
16 bits limits you to a total size of 65635 bytes, minus the header sizes; a minimum of 20 bytes are required to define an IP packet and 8 bytes for UDP leaving an effective data payload of 65507
     bytes.

  • UDP with cRIO and error 113

    Hi all,
i'm using the UDP protocol to exchange information between a PC and a cRIO; the first is the master, the second is the slave.
In the cRIO i developed a piece of code in order to realize a loopback, so that the message sent from the PC is sent back to the PC itself as it has been received, without any modification.
First, i tried sending a short message (100 B) from the PC to the cRIO; in this case, no problem at all
Then, i tried sending a long message (20 kB) from the PC to the cRIO; in the cRIO code, the error number 113 was raised when trying to send back the message to the PC (calling the UDP write function)
What can be the origin of the different behaviour between the PC and the cRIO? Seems to be a question of buffer size... Can it be dependent of the OS? How can i increase it in the cRIO?
    Thanks!
    aRCo

    Hi aRCo,
According to Wikipedia (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_Datagram_Protocol), the max. theoretical limit for a UDP datagram is 8 bytes for header + 65,527 bytes of data (65,535 bytes in total). However, "the practical limit for the data length which is imposed by the underlying IPv4 protocol is 65,507 bytes (65,535 − 8 byte UDP header − 20 byte IP header)". The wiki article goes on to say that larger packets are possible with Jumbograms.
As for the NI documented limits of 8K, this would appear to be a LabVIEW-imposed limitation. (Perhaps this was related to an earlier limitation of the UDP protocol that has since been upgraded. If I recall correctly, the Windows version of LabVIEW also had this 8K limitation in the past.)
Perhaps NI relaxed this limit, or maybe you have jumbo packets enabled on youir PC, and this is allowing more throughput (-- of course both of these possibilities are only speculation on my part).
In any event, if you limit the UDP packet size to the documented 8K limitation, your code should probably be fine across all LV platforms. (How's that for stating the obvious..?)
Anyway, good luck with your application.

  • Error 113 - UDP

I am currently using Labview 8.20
I am reading a text file and sending the contents of that file using UDP.  The file is big and I get the
Error 113.  " A message  sent on a datagram was larger than the internal buffer or some other network limit,
or the buffer used to receive a datagram was small that the datagram itself".  If I use a small file, it works.
I am fairly new to Labview and I just modified the code in the Examples for the UDP Sender and
I am using the UDP Receiver example.
I am using the Read From Text File VI and connected it's output text to the UDP data in.
    Any ideas?
    Jaime

    Hi Jaime,
First of all, are you positive this is LabVIEW 8.20? I have noticed a similar issue that was resolved in LabVIEW 8.0... Are these two PCs both on the same OS and both with LabVIEW 8.20?
Assuming so, how large of a file are you transmitting using UDP? Have you seen what the threshold might be for causing this error? Also, try increasing the max bytes/read and see if that helps.

  • UDP DatagramPacket DatagramSocket send() receive() drop or buffer?

I am working on an application that communicates with a piece of software (image processing) that only provides UDP. Hence I am using Datagrams. Here's my simple question. For
    DatagramSocket.send(DatagramPacket),
what happens to the information if the application on the other end of this message is not calling
    DatagramSocket.receive(DatagramPacket)?
I ask because I do not want to use every packet sent by the image processing software. For example, I trigger the processing, causing it to send a DatagramPacket, but I am not interested in that information so I do not call receive(). Then, I trigger it once more, and this time I want the info in the sent DatagramPacket, so I do call receive(). I am wondering if there is a buffer or something holding the first DatagramPacket, because I want to be sure that receive() gets the second set of information and not the first. Hopefully that's a clear enough description. Thanks for reading, please let me know any info you have on this.

    For
    DatagramSocket.send(DatagramPacket),
what happens to the information if the application on the other end of this message is not calling
DatagramSocket.receive(DatagramPacket)? If the application on the other end has an open DatagramSocket bound to that port, and there is room in the socket's receive buffer, the datagram will be buffered (assuming it arrives). Otherwise it will be silently dropped.
I want to be sure that receive() gets the second set of information and not the first. You will get both if the conditions above hold. If they don't, you will get either none or the first or the second. It doesn't matter in the slightest whether you are or aren't calling receive() at the moment the datagram arrives. To selectively ignore datagrams I guess you could try just opening the socket when the datagram of interest is due, whatever 'due' means, and assuming it can even be defined, but it's obviously very risky.

  • How to check udp buffer overflow in solaris10

    Hello All,
We have developped a C++ application which uses connection based udp socket for transfering the data between two solaris10 machines. The data transfer takesplace for every 20 min and continues for about 1 min. The total no of udp sockets i am using is more than 1200. During the time of socket creation i don't set the send and receive buffer size, so the default parameter configured in the system will be considered.
In certain cases the receiving end application does not receive any data, but the sender continues sending the data, this i could see from the snoop. Also the write operation doesn't fail in the sender side.
From the snoop command i could see the time interval between the packets sent is 30microseconds. So there could be possibility that udp buffer may overflow.
Does anybody know the solaris system command to find the udp buffer overflow?.

I'm having this same issue. I also have this line in my log, which is curious:
12/14/14 7:13:07.822 PM netbiosd[16766]: Attempt to use XPC with a MachService that has HideUntilCheckIn set. This will result in unpredictable behavior: com.apple.smbd
Is this related to the problem? What does it mean?
