  • I'm looking for a Deep dive type of training based on the 20467 course (Designing BI solutions with SQL 2012)

I am looking for an instructor led classroom course around the Midwest, But everything I find is remote Instructor led class. And the online classes are only 6 hours 45 minutes a day, if you figure in a 45 minutes lunch, is it possible for one
to learn the course thoroughly in 30 hours over five days?
Although I took a class at CertificationCamps in Florida and they managed to compress a class from six days to three. but all we did was go through a book of exercises, and then go to our hotel rooms and memorize test Q&A. It was a waste of six grand
and useless. I retained nothing two years later.
Perhaps there are some Midwest (Indianapolis) BI developers who can recommend a place to go. Or let me know if you can really learn in a remote class.

    Hi Developer,
If I understand you correctly, you are looking for deep dive type of training about designing BI solutions in SQL Server 2012, right?
Since this is a non-technical question, I changed this thread from Questions type to Discussion. Hope some experienced person can help you.

My Question is about the basics of AIA and O2C PIP. Do we need to manually configure PIP or the installable takes care of everything ? Cos i read in implementation guide of Oracle PIP that you need to extract the integration files and then do everything manually . Like importing sif files in Siebel and Adding provided Web Services . Then running commands to create xref table. etc .. So where exactly is the role of Installable PIP file. I am confused. Please clarify.

  • Deep-dive on the #RetroThinkPad - what do you want under the hood?

Your say is needed, more than ever. Let us know what you want.

I don't know that there is a "better" place to post this question since you seem to be wide open to possibilities. I think an iMac would be a good choice. It already is a CD/DVD player & you can access internet radio through iTunes. For over-the-air (OTA) radio you could get the Griffin Radio Shark. For OTA TV, Elgato gets high praise. Formac also has some options, but they tend to be more expensive.

I am new to CF and I am trying to learn as much as I can (requirement for my new position in the company). My question might seem a little parochial, but if you don't ask, you don't find out, right? Anyway, how is it when you type in things like "jd3", these lines of code just appear? Is that the editor doing this for you or is it something built into CF?

    What's my password?

    Hi Greg,
According to your description, you want to know the what you need to put when logging on to SSAS. Right?
In Analysis Services, Analysis Services provides a role-based authorization model that grants access to operations, objects, and data. All users who access an Analysis Services instance or database must do so within the context of a role. And the membership
of roles should be assigned to windows use (windows authentication).
In this scenario, you need to put in the windows user password. It's not supported to connect via SSAS without password.

  • Event Handler Call Back Functions

    Hi all,
I've followed http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/CRM/ExtendBOLModelBTwithcustomtabletyperelationship that wiki to get my Z table accessible in the BOL through a relationship to BT. Create and display opperations are working just fine.
My problem is with Modify and Delete actions.
Essentially, when I press Save in the BOL Browser (after modifying some field in my Z Entity) and have a look at the Event Trace, I see that the events Init, Save, Init have been called. The problem here is that Init is being called before Save, clearing the global class table that holds my entities. Therefore, when Save is called the table is empty and no entities are updated in the DB.
My Init function is called on '88 (Initialize Document)' and the Save function is called on '80 (Save Document)'. Is there some way of ensuring that Init will not be called before Save?
Thanks for your time and help,
    Patrick.

    Hi folks.
    Some more info.
I've been trying to figure out how the SAP standard works, so I'm having a look at PARTNERSET/PARTNER, which have the same set up against BT that my objects have. I've put break-points in to the functions CRM_PARTNER_INIT_EC & CRM_PARTNER_SAVE_EC.
From the BOL Browser I now find a Partner relationship, make a modification and press Save.
I see that here, also, the calling order is INIT followed by SAVE; but here the modifications are actually stored to the DB.
So, is there something wrong with the code in the INIT/SAVE functions from that wiki?
Essentially, has anyone here ever taken a Z Table, created a BOL entry for it with a relationship to BT (or any other component) and had it actually work?
I've read every resource I can find on this, the wiki I linked, another by a guy named Harel, another that has us use the component set SO2; the CRM WebUI programming book and the Deep Dive course material and you can add to that many, many forum posts. None of them result in entities (with relationships) that actually work.
Some insight/help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    P.

Please, Who is the job that must be programmed to collect information for system log (sm21) ?
    Thank you very much.
    Hugo.

Before you reinitialize your log shipping configuration, check to see if you can take a differential backup and restore that on top of your standby database. This is relatively easier than to take a full database backup just to reinitialize

I can take a diff backup.. But in my secondary, when i right click standby >tasks-->restore-->i can see only option to restore transaction log file. Other options are greyed out. How can i restore a diff backup now. If i bring the DB online with
restore with recovery, i have to restore a full backup before i can apply a diff backup.
Somebody provide me insight on below error
This secondary database is not functional because
the required copy or restore job cannot be found. You must remove this secondary database by clicking Remove. To resume log shipping to this secondary database, add it as a secondary again using the same settings. If
you resume log shipping and you specify the same restore path that you used before, any backup files that are uncopied or unrestored to this database will be copied and restored when it is added as a secondary again.  Reinitializing the secondary database
    is unnecessary."
I can see the LS_restore job and the job is running as per the schedule, we dont run copy job because
the backup directly falls in secondary server. wats the reason for the above error.

  • Course WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI

I had the opportunity to attend 'WUS581 - Technical Details of SAP CRM Web UI' last month in Atlanta.  I understand it to have been the first time the course was offered in the US.
The course was great - here's a link to the official [description|https://training.sap.com/ca/en/course/wus581-wus581-tech-details-of-sap-crm-web-ui-classroom-095-us-en/] . I believe this was an adaptation of the material from the Deep Dive Series. I have to say, that it was pretty fast paced as well - you really need to keep up as much of the material built upon what was already taught.
The materials from the class are invaluable.  The labs were well done, and offered detailed solutions.  The labs were numerous, appropriate, and clean.  Most of the twenty exercises were cumulative.  I have since gone back to review some of the concepts, and the material stands well even outside of the classroom.
This course has given me a much better understanding of the bigger picture.  While I have not come from a CRM or BSP background, I have been working with webUI on a CRM 7.0 based SAP Custom Development Solution, [Fund Raising Management|http://www.sap.com/services/portfolio/customdev/brochures/index.epx] for about half a year.  So, I had at least been exposed to the workbench and some concepts over the previous six months.  This course really helped me tie some things together.
I just wanted to share my experience with the group...
    ...Mike

    Mike,
I'm curious to find out how did you find out that the course you took was scheduled. The reason why I'm asking is that I didn't even know that SAP even offered the course in the US, so I would have tried to attend myself if I found out about in advance.
Glad to see you recommended the course.  There isn't going to be much CRM related technical content at SAP Teched in Las Vegas this year,  however there may be at least one session attending (wink-wink), that's not listed yet.  I would still recommend that CRM development folks still attend teched, because there is plenty of great technical content that we can use regardless.
    Take care,
    Stephen
