  • (2nd POST) The correct way to do "custom layout" with ADF Faces

    Hi all,
    I need the capability to do custom layout of ADF Faces page (other than the default layout we got after we drag data controls). For example I need layout like below :
    Order Number : xxxx ............................................................Gross : 999,999
    Order Date : xx/xx/xxxx ........................................................Discount : 999,999
    Customer : code - name.........................................................Tax : 999,999
    Salesman : code - name.........................................................Netto : 999,999
    (the dotted line represents spaces)
    Currently I do it with </afh:rowLayout> plus.. many..many </h:panelGrid>, so I am looking a better way. what is that ?

    Unfotunately nesting layouts or creating custom layouts is the best approach at this time. You may want to take a look at the folloing library to replace of your verbatim tags.

  • Custom Report Layout with mutliple child tables

    I am trying to create a custom report layout (using Bi Publisher) where I have parent data (multiple jobs on a page) and several child tables for each job (JobDays and JobStops) and several child tables for JobDays (JobDayProviders, JobDayCrew). On the apex screen, I have a join on Jobs and JobDays and I am using functions to string each child row value for JobDayProviders and JobDayCrew together and putting a <br> in between so that they will format on separate lines within a cell. It works fine on the screen but when trying to print to pdf, it ignores these line breaks. I have also tried using <br></br> (saw an article that said just use HTML in bi pulisher) which puts two lines in between each value on the screen and is still ignored on the pdf.
    for example:
    Table hierarchy:
    Jobs table
    Job Stops
    Job Days
    Job Day Service Providers
    Job Day Crew
    Report Layout per job (will have mutlipe jobs to print, just printing 1 day per job):
    Jobs.col1 JobStops.row1 JobDay.col1 JobDayProviders.row1 JobDayCrew.r1
    JobStops.row2 JobDayProviders.row2 JobDayCrew.r2
    JobDayProviders.row3
    Thanks,
    Linda
    First, is there a way to get bi publisher to recognize the line breaks? If not, what is the best way to create a custom report for this scenario? I tried to create a report query with mutliple queries, but cannot determine how to link the child queries to the paren query. I have seen an example where a button is pressed to print one parent row and the id of that row is saved and referenced as a parameter in each of the queries, but if printing mutliple parents on a report, how would I link the child queries to the parent query?

    Helen,
    The best way for your case is to use a content folder and customize it whichever way you like.
    however, your question is about reports. the problem in reports is this that you have to use just one single query and the layout of the results of this query are displayed in a peculiar way.
    anyway. something similar but not exactly the same as what you wanted do is the following.
    use a query like the following: (with a union in between)
    SELECT COLUMN1,NULL , NULL ,NULL ,NULL
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    UNION
    SELECT NULL,COLUMN2 , COLUMN3, COLUMN4, COLUMN5
    FROM my_source_table
    WHERE myCriteria LIKE 'SoAndSo%'
    ---------- Now, have the following codes in the layout segments:
    <!--- header --->
    <table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="1" width="20%" align="center">
    <!--- body --->
    <tr align="center">
    <td><table border="0" cellpadding="1" cellspacing="0" width="30%" align="center">
    <tr align="center">
    <TH><#COLUMN1.FIELD#></TH>
    </tr>
    </table>
    </td>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN2.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN3.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN4.FIELD#></TD>
    <TD class="report_cell" ALIGN="LEFT"><#COLUMN5.FIELD#></TD>
    </tr>
    <!--- footer --->
    <TR><TD></TD></TR>
    this should produce a report with a table structure (you may see the whole if you give BORDER="1" in the main table tag). Within this table, the first column of the first row should be showing top-leftmost column value once (COLUMN1 value) and then the next rows would show last four column values as a table block on the right-bottom part.
    with kind regards,
    naqvi

  • Adding validation to custom page layout with taxonomyfieldcontrol

    Hi we have a publishing site template with various custom page layouts.  When in edit mode, we need to add some validations to the taxonomyfieldcontrols.  What the best approach to do that?

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you wanted to add some validations to the TaxonomyFieldControl.
    We can use the
    TaxonomyFieldControl.validate method to ensure that all taxonomy data is valid.
    To use the built-in taxonomy controls of SharePoint 2010 your best choice might be to go with the
    TaxonomyWebTaggingControl.
    This is the class the field control of the TaxonomyField,
    TaxonomyFieldControl itself uses internally to render its content, although it does not expose the full capability of the control.
    There are two articles about the TaxonomyWebTaggingControl
    , you can have a look at them.

    Hi Kelly,
    I guess <wa_tab>-handle_style is of type lvc_t_styl therefore you can do the following:
    ls_edit-style = cl_gui_alv_grid=>mc_style_enabled.
    "I assume you know your non-key fields' names so you can use subrotuine to perform update on each of them
    ls_edit-fieldname =  'First field name' .
    PERFORM update ls_edit.
    ls_edit-fieldname =  'Second field name'.
    PERFORM update ls_edit.
    ls_edit-fieldname = 'Third field name'.
    PERFORM update ls_edit
    FORM update USING fs_edit type lvc_s_styl.
    field-symbols: <style_tab> type lvc_t_styl,
                         <style_wa> type lvc_s_styl.
    LOOP AT <tab> ASSIGNING <wa_tab>.
       if e_row = sy-tabix .
         "get you style table
         assign component 'HANDLE_STYLE' of structure <wa_tab> to <style_tab>.
         "as <style_tab> is typed fully you can read the row you are interested in
         read table <style_tab> assigning <style_wa> with key fieldname = fs_edit-fieldname
         if sy-subrc = 0.
           "update this entry
            <style_wa> = fs_edit.
    *        modify table <style_tab> from <style_wa>.
         endif.
       endif.
    endloop.
    endform.
    Note!
    Though, this should work, the use of RTTI as Uwe suggested would be best practise approach as far as dynamic programming is concerned. Anyhow it is still up to you which one you pick.
    Regards
    Marcin
    I noticed now that this line is not necessary
    modify table <style_tab> from <style_wa>.
    as we simply are working with field symbols, so changes made to <style_wa> are already visible in that table <style_tab>.

  • Customized table layout

    Hi,
    I have requirement that user should be able to set customized layout for himself., i.e., he should be able to
    Select columns to be displayed in the table
    Select sequence in which columns should be displayed
    Whenever user access application, table should be displayed as per layout set by him(selected columns, sequence of columns). User has to be provided with option to change his customized settings or use default settings.
    1. For changing columns to be displayed at the run time, I am planning to set IWDVisibility property of the column at runtime based on user settings.
    2. For changing sequence of columns displayed, I am planning to use swapColumns method of table.
    My question is :
    1. Is there any better way of achieving this requirement?
    2. Can I use portal database to store customized setting for the user?  or customize attributes in identity management?
    3. What is recommended way of storing customized settings for the user?
    Thank you,
    Apurva

    Hi Armin,
    Thank you.
    This exactly meets requirement., with no coding ..:)
    But, can we have a link/button in web dynpro application to open personalization dialog, instead of CTRL + right click.
    I saw forum thread saying, access to this API is not yet available. Is it planned in any next release?
    Regards,

    I have configured adf security on my application. I have checked the authentication and authorization are working fine with the default authenticator.
    I am trying to create a custom login module. • Table Layout with Dependent LOV on the Table.

    Hi All,
    I have a requirement as below. I have a VO that has below columns and I show them all in a Table region on OA page.
    1. Code
    2. Old Data
    3. New Data
    Code is a dropdown or pick list which has multiple values say "Job", "Grade" and "Position".
    So, when I choose "Job", I need to show the "Job" lov for New Data field.
    and when I choose "Grade", I need to show the "Grade" lov for New Data field and same with "Position" as well.
    Can I able to do this in OA page? if so, can you throw some hints how to do this?
    Thanks in advance

  • Custom exception problems with ADF framework

    Hi,
    I have problems with the exception handling in an web service Java class (POJO).
    In this class I throw my own exception WsException-class which extends the normal Exception-class.
    The class WebservicesAppModule extends the oracle.jbo.ApplicationModule.
    In the following I first describe the web service class and then the three tests a)-c).
    In test b) you can find my main problem.
    Web service Java class (POJO):
    public Element check(Element element) throws WsException{
    WebservicesAppModule am = null;
    try {
    // 1) system error
    // if I comment the next line out, then am = null and a NullPointerException is thrown which appear as NullPointerException in the SOAP response
    am = (WebservicesAppModule)Configuration.createRootApplicationModule(_am,_cf);
    if(value == null){
    // 2) application error
    WsException wsex = new WsException();
    wsex.addErrorCode(WsException.C_INVALID_BANK_CONNECTION);
    throw wsex;
    } else if (value2 == null){
    // 3) explicit system error
    throw new NullPointerException();
    }catch(WsException wsex){
    // 4) application error
    throw wsex;
    }catch(Throwable ex){
    // 5) system error
    log.debug("Technischer Fehler", ex);
    WsException wsex = new WsException("system error");
    wsex.addErrorCode(WsException.C_NOK);
    throw wsex;
    } finally {
    if (_am != null) {
    Configuration.releaseRootApplicationModule(am, false);
    Test a):
    - The WebservicesAppModule is initialized (1)
    - value = null, so the process run in the "application error" if-block (2)
    - The WsException is thrown and catched in the "application error" catch-block (4)
    The SOAP repsonse is okay:

  • Problem with "Row-specific or Cascading Lists in Table Layout"

    Hello, friends!
    I have read article "Row-specific or Cascading Lists in Table Layout" written by Steven Davelaar. I have maked several table layouts with this technique and it worked fine.
    But now I have one problem, and this problem is very strange. One of VOs for which I use this table layouts throw exception after commit changes on first LOV attribute (Deptno). First time it was error
    (oracle.jbo.ReadOnlyAttrException) JBO-27008: for atribute mgrList
    at oracle.jbo.AttrValException.<init>(AttrValException.java:112)
         at oracle.jbo.ReadOnlyAttrException.<init>(ReadOnlyAttrException.java:40)
         at oracle.jbo.server.ViewRowImpl.setAttribute(ViewRowImpl.java:815)
         at oracle.jbo.jbotester.JboTesterUtil.setData(JboTesterUtil.java:173)
    Then I setted updateable property of MgrList attribute to always and now i have this error:
    oracle.jbo.domain.DataCreationException: JBO-25009: Cannot create an object of type:java.util.List with value:[{}]
         at oracle.jbo.domain.TypeFactory.get(TypeFactory.java:721)
         at oracle.jbo.domain.TypeFactory.getInstance(TypeFactory.java:85)
    I don't know why, but all worked fine yestarday. And same code works fine for another VOs. And article Test application works fine too.
    Help me, please.
    Thank you.

  • How do I create a crystal report layout with a table and borders

    My crystal report is a signin sheet. The sign in sheet has an ID column, Name column, Institution column, Place to signin column, and Weekday columns with checkboxes in each column for the visitor to checkoff.
    How do I display the data that is being used int he crystal report in a table layout with borders around each cell? And is it possible to center vertical alignment of the data within eacvh cell like Excel?

    Blahahaha! Great answer Deb!
    Seriously though... There is no vertical alignment in CR. There have been several past threads related to this issue and all of them have various workarounds. None of them are very elegant.
    The best workaround I've found (especially if you are grid or borders) is to turn off the boarders for the field itself and drawl a rectangle around the field(s). Now you can place the field in the lower portion of the rectangle and adjust the rectangles height to place the field text in the center of the rectangle.
    This will give you more control over the height of your elements than using a carriage return before the text.

  • ADF Bindings Servlet/Filter  not invoking  Faces Servlet

    I'm getting ADF Faces and Facelets working properly with pages written in jspx format, but the Faces Servlet being mapped to jsf format.
    The problem I'm getting is while displaying ADF Tables with data retrieved from the database using Toplink and bindings provided by ADF Databindings.
    The following is the Web.xml mappings for Faces Servlet and ADF bindings filter:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>javax.faces.webapp.FacesServlet</servlet-class>
    <load-on-startup>1</load-on-startup>
    </servlet>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>resources</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>/adf/*</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-mapping>
    <servlet-name>Faces Servlet</servlet-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsf</url-pattern>
    </servlet-mapping>
    <filter>
    <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
    <filter-class>oracle.adf.model.servlet.ADFBindingFilter</filter-class>
    </filter>
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jsp</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>
    <filter-mapping>
    <filter-name>adfBindings</filter-name>
    <url-pattern>*.jspx</url-pattern>
    </filter-mapping>
    I'm getting the ADF tables displayed using ADF Bindings, if the faces servlet is mapped for jspx format;but, at the cost of losing Facelets...Facelets is not working with Faces Servlet mapped to jspx format(though written in jspx format, the faces servlet mappping has to be made for jsf format.On the other hand, if I use faces servlet mapping for jsf pages I'm getting Facelets working but ADF Databindings are not working ,(I guess) and hence ADF Faces Tables are not being displayed(I'm getting Access Denied message).
    I even tried to change the ADF binding filter mappings
    ---- from ---- jsp &jspx---- to ----- jsp and jsf ----
    But I got the same Access denied message.
    I read a similar post on this forum by Mr.Ashish Kumar who said he is using java script and automatic form submission, to refresh the page and that gave him the table working.
    as quoted in the post:
    af:table displays Access Denied
    Why should the page be refreshed at all. I Guess , the Faces Servlet is not being invoked by the ADF Bindings Filter/Servlet, and for this , I suppose , Mr.Ashish is using java script to provide the action required.
    And one more thing which that Automatic Refreshing of page using JavaScript cannot do.
    Suppose,
    I need customised display, rather than just a Table or Form,like:
    public String getEmp() {
    BindingContainer bindings = getBindings();
    OperationBinding operationBinding =
    bindings.getOperationBinding("findAllEmp");
    Object result = operationBinding.execute();
    if (!operationBinding.getErrors().isEmpty()) {
    return null;
    List<Emp> res=(List<Emp>)result;
    for(int i=0;i<res.size();i++)
    Emp myrec=res.get(i);
    System.out.println("Employee ["+myrec.getEname()+"], Salary ["+myrec.getSal()+"]");
    return "";
    where I do some customisation in the backing bean.
    and I call that method binded to a button as below:
    <af:commandButton
    text="findAllEmp"
    disabled="#{!bindings.findAllEmp.enabled}"
    binding="#{backing_Success.commandButton1}"
    id="commandButton1"
    action="#{backing_Success.getEmp}"/>
    What I'm getting is a disabled button.
    Why doesn't ADF bindings servlet invoke the faces Servlet?
    Can't we make ADF Bindings Servlet invoke Faces Servlet by configuring in the web.xml?
    Can't we get ADF Bindings filter mapped to work with jsf pages?
    Won't ADF Bindings work with jsf pages, will they work only with jspx pages?
    ADF Team,
    Please Help me.
    Thanking you,
    Samba

    Yes, Mr.Adam Winer has contributed that library, I guess.
    But I already have that adf-facelets.jar in my lib folder ; and with out that the Facelets won't work with ADF faces , in the first place.
    I'm getting Facelets working excellently with ADF Faces but I'm not getting ADF Bindings working with Faceletpages.
    The thing is even in another application which does not have facelets in it, if we use mapping for jsf pages, ADF Bindings are not working.
    I think the ADF bindings filter is configured some where to work with jspx pages only.Could you tell me where to change that entry to make ADF Bindings work with jsf extension?
    Thanking you,
    Samba.

  • Insert delete or update entry in Custom table from KONV entry changed

    Hi All,
    I have custom table ZKONV with only few required columns and should have same number of records as KONV has at any point in time.
    KONV is a cluster table so its not readable from ORACLE level. So ZKONV is created. But I dont know how to keep these both tables in sync.
    I need to perform insert delete or update entry in Custom table if insert delete or update happens on cluster table KONV from any transactions.
    As KONV is a cluster table and does not have changed time stamp I am not able to know the number of records changed in perticulat time period.
    Thanks,

    Thanks for reply,
    There is a Outside SAP system which needs to read KONV data to feed into their system, but as KONV is cluster table they are not able to read it from ORACLE level.
    To solve this we are thinking to create a transparent Z-table and will fill it with KONV and catch Update, delete or Insert statement and do same on ZKONv.
    Is this possible some how? by some database event or something....
