UME Parameter Changed but not Active

Hi,
I have changed the value of the UME parameter "<i>ume.logon.security_policy.lock_after_invalid_attempts</i>" from 3 to 10 in the Visual Administrator then restarted the server. However, the new value did not take effect and users are not getting locked even after 10 failed login attempts.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.

Central data cache configured but not active

Hi,
I am currently at a customer site and am configuring the solution manager system as a CEN.
The sapccm4x en ccmsr agents have been registered and memory has been allocated in the CEN system for the central data cache, but whenever I open a monitor the following message is listed at the top of the screen:
Central data cache configured but not active
Suggestions on how to configure this cache and the impact of not doing so will be rewarded.

If Find My Phone has not been activated on the iPhone before being lost there is nothing more that you can do to locate it with iCloud. The only option is physical search for it.
If you have an idea of the location, call the iPhone and see if you can hear it ring.

You cannot; it's intentionally disabled to guard against accidental file loss. If you press Option when pasting the files, they'll be moved instead of copied.

Web service transported but not active in QA environment

Hi all,
In order to support a template document i've created a web service using the web service tool. All is working fine in DEV and all has been successfully transported to QA environment (I think). The web service objects have been included in the transport using transaction CRMOST_TRANSPORT and I see the web service in the web service tool in QA.
Problem is that the web service is not active. In the web service tool I see the web service and see that the Active status is still available to be selected. When I select it I get the following errors:
- Object type does not exist
- Not possible to get data for service object
- Activation cannot be performed in this client:
- Details Changes to Repository objects are not permitted in this client
I read somewhere that you have to do 'after import functions' for web services but don't know what!? Is it simply a matter of opening the client in QA and reactivating the web service in the Web Service Tool?

Ihave a question.
I created a webservice through CRM 7.0 Web Service Tool
ie we went to Component WS_DESIGN_TOOL and executed the component and we Launched the tool ,
using tool we created a Web service for Sales Order, Due to missing of some settings I guess it didnt ask for a Transport request and it went and saved in an ' Local Object'.
Could you please help in explaining as what steps we need to configure to make sure that the web service goes and sits in a Transport which is required in moving it to QA System.

Data plan used if MiFi connected but not actively being used?

If computer is on overnight but not in use, meaning MiFi connected, with that use up my data plan? Or does it use up with "active" use only? I'm sharing internet with other people so I'm not sure my data plan is being used on purpose or just getting eaten up while we are all asleep? I'm already maxed with 3 weeks to go!!!

As long as you have devices connected to the MiFi there is always a risk that those devices will consume data behind the scenes without your knowledge. This is how network connected devices work, they are constantly "in use" while connected. Computers, smart phones and any kind of internet connected devices are constantly backing up content, looking for updates and talking to other network devices. It has nothing to do with your active participation and all internet communication is held against you on your data plan.
The only way to completely stop data usage is to turn off your MiFi when it is not needed. This is a common safe practice that you should start using when on a metered data plan. MiFis are not intended to be left on 24x7 anyways, frequent reboots will help ensure the device stays in proper working order and increase the longevity of its life.
Verizon does provide everyone with a data log. The data log will provide you with time stamps and the amounts that are consumed at those times. It should be easy to see when your biggest spikes of consumption are. Isolate what devices are online during those times and what may have been going on and you can start to build a picture of where the problem lies.
To truly see the network traffic in terms of specific applications, web services or devices you need to find and install network monitors. Network monitors come in a variety of applications so you need to find and build a monitoring system that fits your environment. Considering you have other people connected to your MiFi it would not be uncommon for each of you to install a separate monitor specific to those machines.

After a full database incomplete recovery 2 days ago, we have 3 Oracle-Managed Files hanging out in a directory that didn't exist before. Our structure looks like this:

However, these OMF's exist here:

o1_mf_maintena_556mn5my_.dbf
... and are actively being touched every few minutes. However, they do not exist in dba_data_files or in v$datafile.
I'm wondering what we can do with these so they're not "active" as they appear now. We would like to get rid of them.
We do not use OMF's in our environment.
I believe these may have been created in an attempt to move MISSING... files during our first attempt at a recovery but all files should have been discarded when the full restore and recovery was completed.

Thanks - the lsof command was helpful. 2 of the 3 datafiles are active as shown below. The related processes have also been grepped. It looks like the "...gaming..." datafiles are online... but as I mentioned before, they're not in v$datafile or dba_data_files, yet they're still being touched. How can we safely remove them?

Want to import bookmarks from IE to Firefox to update my list. Import function under File is not avaiable as it is listed but not active.

In the past I have imported my favorites from IE to Firefox bookmarks. Now I want to redo it to update the ones I have in IE but not in Firefox. When I click on File the drop down menu has Import listed but it is not highlighted or you might say its shadowed out and does nothing when I click on it. I guess my question is how can I make the import option active so I can use the import wizard?

IPhone 4 activated with Sprint... but not activating with Apple?

I activated an iPhone at the Sprint store yesterday, and it activated fine with the carrier, but not with Apple. I was told that it is a problem with the servers due to iOS 7 coming out, so how long should I expect to be waiting for this problem to be solved?
