  • Calling Function Module for upper case to lower case in Transformation

    Hi all,
We have the data load happening everyday for the Account Receivables data. The DSO activation is failing because of the invalid characters. It gives the messages as below
"Value 'bdmg0808dm' (hex. '620064006D006700300038003000380064006D00') of characteristic ZINVNUM contains invalid characters"
We understood that the character ZINVNUM is maintained only for uppercase letter wherein the lower case check box is not ticked. We have a function module which is build within BI which can be used to permit non permitted characters including space. Just want to know how can I call this function module in a transformation and which is the best option to call the function module(start routine/end routine).
    Regards
    Vijay

You can use statement in end routine to convert text to upper case. No need of calling any function module. Just loop through records of RESULT_PACKAGE and for that particular field convert text using below statement.
    LOOP AT RESULT_PACKAGE.
    TRANSLATE RESULT_PACAKGE-/BIC/ZNAME TO UPPER CASE.
    ENDLOOP.

  • Search for upper case in Bex Queries

    Dear Gurus,
    I'm facing the following situation:
I have a query from BW listing customers from a Infocube and it is displayed in uppercases, but when I click in the button filter in left panel from the characteristic Customer and type the customer name in lowercases it doesn't work anyway,
What can I do to solve this problem?
    Thank you in advance,
    Fabio Purcino

    Hi,
I've solved this problem by changing the function module RSD_CHA_BUILD_QUERY. I just added the following code before ENDFUNCTION.
data: ti_where type table of rsdrs_s_where with header line.
      loop at e_sx_query-t_where into ti_where.
        translate ti_where-low to upper case.
        translate ti_where-high to upper case.
        append ti_where.
      endloop.

  • Determining proper hyperlink syntax for TOC destination within PDF using example?

I've dabbled but only able to construct a hyperlink jumping to a specific page rather than jumping to a specific table of Contents (TOC) entry, e.g.  "901. Scope of the Training and Education Program" in http://www.nerc.com/files/NERC_ROP_Effective_20130305.pdf
Q1:  In general how should one determine and form up a TOC based hyperlink to a destination within a PDF such as this.. likely applying "hxxp://www.domain.com/file.pdf#nameddest=TOC" syntax?
Q2: What would be the specific hypertext brower launch link for this example?
    tia

To make use of the "nameddest" parameter you'll have to actually have those in the PDF. The PDF at the link does not have any.
As the authoring file for the PDF was a Word file you could see if Word can be configured to provide named destinations.
If not then you would have to put them in manually using Acrobat (Pro supports this - maybe Standard also).
If you don't already have it the "Parameters for Opening PDF Files" is the document that discusses parameters for opening a PDF via a URL.

  • Acrobat 9Pro - How to add a submit (to email address) button for an online fillable PDF form.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but this is my first time trying to add a submit button to the bottom of a online fillable pdf form. I have 5 of these froms to do. I need the user to go to my website, click the link to open an online fillable form, fill it out and click a submit button in the form, so it can be emailed to an individual. I thought I followed all the steps correctly in Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro, every which way I could find, but the form gives me an error "this operation not permitted", it's in IE, created in Vista and I now have a headache. Do I need to add extra code to my website html somewhere?
Does anyone have the neccessary steps to make this work, a video would be even better. Do I have to have this LifeCycle Designer thing?

Some comments based on your application:
    1. It looks like might likely exceed the 500 use limit, in that case to not use Reader Rights or you will violate the license. The cost beyond that can be negotiated with Adobe (if they will talk to you), but don't expect it to be check. In that case, submit the form data as and FDF file. This file can be imported into the form at your end and get exactly the same results as if the whole form had been sent. The FDF submission does not require Reader Rights. The parent will still be able to print the form, but saving would require having Acrobat, not Reader.
    2. A lot of the data appears to be personal in terms of the name of children, addresses, etc. It would be a good idea to check with legal counsel about submitting such information by e-mail, particularly for children. E-mail is not generally considered secure, unless you possibly used some form of secure e-mail. For that reason you should consider submitting the data to a web script that would be stored someplace for you to obtain it and possibly send you a notice of receipt. A secure website is preferred for this use. You should keep the option open for anyone to submit the form in paper if they object to the potential security risks with your online submission method.
I know those put rinkles in your forms, but for such an application it is a good idea to consider the potential consequences if you do not worry about the form security and number of uses. The potential is to put you out of business or more. OK, an extremist view, but worth considering.

  • Specifiying Language for Document Properties if PDF Form

In order for a pdf to be 508 compliant it's language must be specified. I've created a form and for the life of me can't figure out how to specify the language for this document such that Adobe Reader knows it's english.  In a pdf NOT created using lifecyle this would be easy. simply go to file > properties> advanced > Language > english. but in pdf forms that section of the properties is greyed out. I tried adding it to the xml like this:<br /> <text name="Language">English</text> in the <desc> tag. Please if you have ANY suggestions they'd be much appreciated.

I wonder if you have seen the form being filled, or a screen shot, so can confirm that Adobe Reader is the app when it is filled? (And not Adobe Reader Touch or a browser or Microsoft Reader or any other app). The reason for asking is that many users (not unreasonably but wrongly) assume that once Adobe Reader is installed it is bound to be used.

  • Format Arguments for upper case in Documaker

    Hi All,
I have a DAL scripts which uses the XPath for customer. The customer names are coming in upper and lower came and some time mixed. I would like to make the first letter of the name ( first name, Middle name and last name) uppercase.
    from DAL reference book:
Enter <> to capitalize the first letter of the resulting text. This flag is valid for the following codes and ignored on all others: %<>p, %<>A, %<>b, %<>B For example, if %p results in AM, %<>p produces Am.
    Cust_name_temp=" adam miline"
Cust_name_temp= format(Cust_name_temp,,"%<>p") - this is not giving the result as "Adam Miline".
    Please help on the same.
    Debasish

    Hi,
DAL does not have a direct function to do this.
As an alternative,  the Move_It rule offers a Title Case format.
    thanks

  • What is the syntax for a CASE statement in Crystal XI

I'm having difficulty locating documentation for the use of CASE statements in Crystal syntax. My database administrator does not allow me to write SQL expressions so I need to covert the SQL below to Crystal Syntax. Can anyone help me? Thank you very much!!
    Select
       CASE
WHEN projects.ProjType like 'S%' then 'Shopping Center'
WHEN projects.ProjType like 'I%' then 'Industrial'
WHEN projects.ProjType like 'O%' then 'Office Building'
             ELSE 'Other'
       END
    from projects

Let's assume column XYZ has both numbers (1), and letters (any alphabet).
I have a case statement on SQL to turn any value that's not 1 into 0, then I am getting a sum of that column.
I am also grouping by Row A, B etc to get aggregated sum of column XYZ for those group.
Now on Crystal Reports function, I need to sum up values under column XYZ for all the groups.
If I try using sum function like below, I get an error stating:
"A number field or currency amount field is required here"
    (sum({Command.XYZ}))
So I thought if I can use a case statement to change the non-numbers to 0 prior to sum that will probably resolve it. But I could not get the below case statement to work either (Error: A string is required).
    SELECT {Command.XYZ}
       Case 1:
          1
       Default:
          0;

  • Help! Looking for an iPad app that allows for efficiently filling in PDF forms we create. Know of any?

I created a quote form for our sales guys to use in the field and we would like them to be able to have the capability to fill it in on their ipads. Is there an app that will let us do the following:
    Fill in a pripriotary form
    Click to next field
Force character limits so the text does wrap and print poorly
Edit text after moving on to another field
    Printable
    Send by email
If an app like this doesn't existion, how much would it cost to commisison someone to create it?
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks.

Ah. I'm surprised, but there we go.
    Have a look here ...
    http://jam.hitsquad.com/vocal/about2136.html
(courtesy of googling 'OSX free multitrack recording software')
Didn't have time to do more than skim, but 'Ardour' looked promising. Protools is the only one I've used, the full product is one of the industry standards, but the free 'lite' version listed here seems to be limited to 2 in/out as well.
Referring to your original post, I'd think trying to write or 'script' something would be a nightmare ... synchronisation of streams within something like Applescript would be a major issue, quite apart from anything else.

  • Alternative to webservice for data exchange in PDF (Form Export Rights in Reader)

    Hello,
I'm exchanging data between my pdf and a web server. Basically, the pdf needs to get some xml string from the web server, alternatively send some xml string to it. This is now done using a webservice, and it works fine with the SOAP javascript object. However, it doesn't work in Adobe Reader, because (quote from the docs):
"The SOAP methods connect, request and response are available only for documents open in Acrobat Pro and  Acrobat Standard and for documents with Form Export Rights open in  Adobe Reader 6.0 or later."
It turns out I need to enable Form Export Rights to get webservices work in Reader.
Now, I was wondering if there's another way to exchange data between my pdf and a web server that doesn't involve enabling those Form Export Rights in Reader.
Note that I need to be able to parse the response string xml from the web server in pdf using its javascript API.
    Thanks for any suggestions,
    James

Your only other alternative is to POST th einformation to the web server via a submit operation. This is the same as POSTING on an HTML form.

  • Special characters converted in wrong in Upper case ?

    Hello,
In material description , some characters such as µ when converted into upper case it will be 'M' in stead of 'µ' . This is in SAP ECC unicode . But it's ok in R/3.
So in this case, Is there any solution for this problem ?
    Thanks

MAKT-MAKTG : For upper case characters , When our client search for values when pressing F4 in material , If there's material description that contain 'u03BC', It will be displayed as 'M' in the text . This will happen in ECC 6 not in R/3 ( in R/3 two texts are the same) .
The different behavior you're observing between what you call R/3 and ECC 6 is not due to the different releases, but based on the fact that one system is Unicode enabled and the other not. I suspect that you are most likely logging onto the system with a language that's linked to code page 1100 (in the non-Unicode release). Code page 1100 is similar to the Latin-1/ISO-8859-1 code page, which is designed to have most characters for western languages, but does not contain all Greek letters (SAP would most likely use code page 1700 if you set a greek locale).
Again, it may sound silly, but you have to distinguish between the symbol µ (Unicode code point U+00B5) and the lower case greek letter u03BC (U03BC). SAP code page 1100 contains only the symbol µ (U00B5), which represents the prefix micro as for example in 1µm = 1 micro meter = 0.000001m. Neither the greek lower case letter u03BC (U+03BC) nor it's corresponding upper case letter exists in code page 1100.
The Unicode standard defines the greek upper case letter u039C (U039C) as the upper case to use for both the symbol  µ (U00B5) and the lower case greek letter u03BC (U+03BC), see for example the Unicode mapping chart for Greek (so that's why you see a different behavior in ECC 6).
I'm not sure why, but for some reason SAP found it worthwhile mentioning that they actually also convert the symbol  µ (U00B5) to u039C (U039C), though that essentially just means following Unicode standard. Anyhow, if you're interested in further details, check out OSS note 1078295 - Incomplete to upper cases in old code pages.

  • Convert the entrie to upper case

    Hello Experts,
My client is asking me to convert the entries which are existing in database to upper case and display in upper case in transaction from where he is calling f4 help. and also he wants to display the same data in upper case in adobe forms.
Please let me know how to make it possible.
    Thanks in advance.
    Indra.

    Hi,
In self developed programs, you can use TRANSLATE command.
In standard F4 help, you cannot convert to uppercase. The use of upper/lower case is a property of domain.

  • I am unable to fill in info on a fillable PDF

I am unable to fill in info on a fillable PDF form. Do i need to down load anything???

If you're viewing that file with the Preview application that comes with OS X, I've found that it's not perfect at being able to read PDF files.  You might try the free Adobe Reader.  Once you install that it will take over viewing of PDF files in Safari.  If you don't want that, open Adobe Reader's preferences and change that option in the "Internet" category.

  • Fetch data from IR to form in UPPER CASE format for text field items

    Hello,
Can anyone please help with this issue. I have a IR report with form and I want to fetch the data to upper case when I go to the form level to edit the details from the IR report. I am using the Oracle APEX in built automatic row processing DML to update, create or delete the records. Is their any way, where I can convert the data to upper case whenever user creates a new record or updates the existing record using the in-built automatic row processing DML.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Orton

    Jari,
I have tried your option but no luck. The thing is the text is getting converted from lower to upper case when i navigate from report to form level. But I want to save the data to the database all upper case, even if the user enters data in lower case and this applies for both inserts and updates. Whenever i tried to create or update a record, all the data should be converted to upper case before inserting or updating to the database.
    Please help.
    Thanks,
    Orton
