Unable to configure monitor & report in Lync 2013

We have SQL Server 2012 in our environment. I want to enable monitor report in Lync 2013. i have separate Lync sql instance.
I am trying to configure new database in Reporting Service Configuration manager in report Server database Configuration wizard.
while testing connection getting below error.
could not connect to server:A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to
allow remote connections.(provider:Named Pipes provider,error:40-could not open a connection to SQL Server)
kindly help to resolve issue.

In my opinion, if you have problem with your firewall, try disabling it and connect. If it doesn't work, means it could be your SQL configuration / enabling of TCP/IP problem.
Check the below blog:
http://blog.sqlauthority.com/2009/05/21/sql-server-fix-error-provider-named-pipes-provider-error-40-could-not-open-a-connection-to-sql-server-microsoft-sql-server-error/
If you are able to connect to SQL Server by physically logging on to the server, but unable to connect from a client computer then execute the below to check the SPN.
-- run this command to see if SPN is not found
EXEC xp_readerrorlog 0,1,"could not register the Service Principal Name",Null
If the SPN is not found setup and register an SPN. (https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms191153(v=sql.110).aspx#Manual)

I have used this guide :
    https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj945624.aspx
Im now at the part where i click on CDRDB,but when i click on it i only see XML view and dont have the "GUI" Interface to add Connection string.
My account has Admin rights for SQL database and also member of RTC Admin Group.
Why can i not see it in edit mode, which permission am i missing?

Ok,so i figured it out and the reason was because i used wrong url.
correct one should be http://localhost/Reports_RTC and NOT
    http://localhost/Reportserver_RTC

No choice we have to migrate to SQL Server 2012. The SQL Server 2012 SP1 version of the add-in and report server, add support for SharePoint Server 2013
QL Server 2008 R2 is server + Cal or Processor bases
    Standard = $7,499 to $29,996
    Enterprise = $28,749 to $229,992.
SQL Server 2012 User Server + Cal or Core-Based
    Standard = $7,171 to $28,688
    Enterprise = $13,748 to $137,480
SQL Server 2012 doesn’t cost more than SQL Server 2008 R2 but we have to admit that it contains a high number of significant new features. For the same price we can have a lot of more features in SQL and SharePoint! So if you want to use BI for SharePoint

  • Unable to open delivery reports in Exchange 2013 SP1. Gives warning "The status for the recipient can't be determined because of a temporary error. Please try again later."

This seems to be occurring with all users (have tested a few, all display the same exact error message).
When I click on "Message Delivery Report" in Outlook 2010 or 2013, it points me to the ECP and displays this message "Warning The status for the recipient can't be determined because of a temporary error. Please try again later." I'm
not sure which log files to look at. The last time I remember it worked was before I applied SP1, I think CU3.
Our environment is two servers running Exchange Server 2013 Std. SP1 (847.32) in a DAG.
    Thanks.

    Hi,
From the error description, I would like to clarify the following thing:
Delivery Reports is a message tracking tool that you can use to search for delivery status on email messages sent to or from users in your organization's address book, with a certain subject. In Exchange 2013, you can track messages for up to 14 days after
they were sent or received. Please make sure the message you are tracking isn't older than 14 days.
Here is an article for your reference:
    Track messages with delivery reports

    Hope it helps.

  • Some Monitoring Reports Are Blank

    Hello,
We have deployed monitoring reports for Lync 2013 on SQL 2012 mirrored back end database servers.  When I try to open any reports under System Usage Reports, the report is blank.  For example, if I try to open report called "User Registration
Report", it is blank.  However, if I open any reports under "Media Quality Diagnostic Reports" like "Server Performance Report", it works fine.  So, just wondering why I don't see any data for reports like "User Registration
Report".  The SQL account I'm using has full sysadmin role on the SQL server.  Thanks.

    Hi,
Please check if FE server have MSMQ with Directory Services integration installed to complete the message chain between FE and Monitoring server.

  • Lync 2013 Watcher Node Synthetic Transactions

I've set up SCOM monitoring for our Lync 2013 deployment.
Everything is looks like perfect, in the SCOM console I can see the watcher node and it looks like the monitoring is functional (marked with green as "monitored"), but in the Event Viewer of the Watcher Node server I cannot find the events 334
or 335, but as far as I know, there should be notofications in every 15 minutes, that the tests was runing and was succesfull or not.
I've tried to remove and create the watcher node configuration again, restrated the health service etc. but nothing was helpful. What is the problem? :/

Verify that enable proxy agent on lync watcher node to can monitor it.
For configure watcher node, you can refer below link

  • Lync 2013 on a single lable root domain

    Hello All
my enviroemnt is in a child root let say its "contoso.local" the root is .local and the child is contoso.local , with this configuration can I install lync 2013? if not is there any workaround other than rename my domain? your help is much
    appreciated.
    THX

    Hi Mado,
    Unfortunately, installing Lync in a Forest with a single label root domain is not supported;
"Lync Server does not support single-labeled domains. For example, a forest with a root domain named
contoso.local is supported, but a root domain named
local is not supported. For details, see Microsoft Knowledge Base article 300684, “Information about configuring Windows for domains with single-label DNS names,” at
    http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?linkId=143752."
This is not to say it would not work, but I would never put this into a production environment based on Microsofts stance on this.
    Kind regards
    Ben

  • Lync 2013 SCOM Watcher node requirements

    Hi there,
Can i configure the watcher node (lync 2013 MP) on one of the Lync 2013 servers? else i should configure it on separate server.
    Please advice
    Many thanks,
    David

"Depending on the size of your deployment, synthetic transactions may use a large amount of computer memory and processor time. For this
reason, we recommend that you use a dedicated computer as a watcher node. For example, you should not configure a Front End Server to act as a watcher node" - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj204943.aspx

All my certificates on the Exchange 2013 and Lync 2013 servers are from my local CA.
I use APP with the public certificates as my reverse proxy for people connecting from outside the network.
In Lync, the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate created through the Lync deployment wizard is issued to domainname.local (my primary sip domain) and the Subject Alternative names include domainname.co.uk
I then exported this certificate to the Exchange Server and use the Set-AuthConfig to use this certificate for OAuth.
from what I read this was what I was supposed to do.
    is this correct?
I have tried so many things I don't know what do to next.
Should the OAuth certificate in exchange be the one exported from Lync?
In Lync, should the OAuthTokenIssuer certificate include the servername or lyncserver.domainname.local or just be domainname.local like it is at the moment?
    thank-you

    Thomas,
thanks for giving this the time. I have run the Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 script following by remove-PartnerApplication so many times that I was wondering if there are other setting that
Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 creates that aer not removed when you run
    remove-PartnerApplication.
is there a way to completely remove everything that is confirmed when you run
Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 so I can run Configure-EnterpriseApplication.ps1 without there being any configurations left from when I previously run that command?
    thanks
    jack

  • Lync 2013 Monitoring Server - Database reporting

    Hi there,
Im a business intelligence professional rather than a Lync professional so excuse me if my question may show niavete or a clear lack of experience, both would probably be correct.
The basic question is, how does Lync record the relationship between a call being received and the call that is transferred.
Effectively I am looking to see how the monitoring server applies a unique record to a call. This looks like the SessionIdTime field. I also deduce that the 'ReplacesDialogueId' field is used to record when a call effectively replaces another one, and I
have formed a self join on the SessionDetailsView to track a calls progress.
Im struggling though when this relationship is not there. So for example, when a call comes in and is answered by a receptionist, we have the initial call entering the queue, with the call being answered by Reception having a replacedialogId that replaces
the call coming into the queue. Lets say that the receptionist then calls a director to see if they are available, and then transfers the call. There is a relationship between the call being made to the director, and the caller speaking to the director with
the dialogId and replacedialogid fields, though there is no relationship between the receptionist taking the call, and the receptionist calling the director and putting the call through.
Again, please forgive my noobie questions. In summary, how does Lync record the relationship between a call being received and a transferred call.

They are sparse, many of us have written custom reports but I forget what I've done as soon as I've done it.  The Lync 2013 CDR Database Schema is available here:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg398570.aspx
Typically what I do is just dig in and make test case calls, export the query results to something easy to work with like Excel and reverse engineer what I need for my reports.  Watch the CorrelationID and anything else you can line up.
I'm not aware of any great guides that walk you though this unfortunately.

  • Lync Server 2013 Monitoring Reports

Just wanting to know about the capabilities of Monitoring Reports.
Is it possible to know how many users are engaged in live meetings/ conferences ?.....User activity levels ?.....Mobile users ?
What are some other common Lync Monitoring Reports ?
    -Thanks

    Hi,
The mainly reports of monitoring reports is System Usage Reports, Call Diagnostic Reports (per user), Call Diagnostic Reports, Call Diagnostic Reports and Media Quality Diagnostic Reports, and in each of them there are several reports.
You can use Conference Summary Report to view the total number of people who took part in the conferences and the total number of unique conference organizers.
You can use User Registration Report to view user activity levels.
Just like Anthony said, you can write custom SQL for the monitoring reports of mobile users.

  • Lync 2013 client - part of Office 2013 Pro Plus - unable to edit or remove picture, option is grayed out.

    Hi Team,
Lync 2013 client - part of Office 2013 Pro Plus - unable to edit or remove picture, option is grayed out.
Using Exchange 2010 Server and Lync 2010 Server at the back. To the best of my knowledge, this option is only available when using Exchange 2013 rather than Ex 2010.
Can somebody confirm this as I am not 100% sure about it.
    Appreciate your help. Thanks

    Hi,
The photo precedence in Lync 2013 is high-resolution photo from Exchange 2013 -> Photo from web address -> Active Directory photo. The "Edit or Remove Picture" button is available if you integrate Lync Server 2013 with Exchange 2013.
Since you are Lync server 2010 and Exchange 2010, you can choose the following two options:
The thumbnailPhoto attribute on the user's object in Active Directory Domain Services
A URL configured by the user

  • Unable to Silent Monitor newly configured agent via SAD

Unable to silent monitor newly configured agent via SAD (supervisor agent desktop).....attached is a screen shot of the error messages.
I have verified the following -
    - agent is able to log in successfully...
    - supervisor is able to see the agent via realtime report etc...
    - agents that are being monitored successfully, has the same NIC card and are on the same vlan as the new agent...
    - I am able to see the new agent extension and mac address under VoIP monitoring device in the CDA (cisco desktop administration)...
    Please advise, thanks -

There is a utility in the newer releases of UCCX that is included with CAD on the agent PCs that can help narrow down the cause of this problem.  On the agent PC, navigate to C:\Program Files\cisco\desktop\bin and you will see NICQ.exe.  Run this utility while the agent is on a call.  This utility captures packets on the NIC and verifies that the PC is receiving packets from the phone correctly.
If this tool reports that it cannot find an RTP stream, it's best to focus on the agent PC and their phone configuration.  On some phones, you may need to disable the advertise G722 codec, because this is not supported with CAD monitoring/recording yet.  Also, even though the MAC address shows up correctly in CDA for their extension, it's important to make sure the extension is only used once in CUCM by searching the route plan report.  Otherwise, the VoIP Monitoring service may receive the wrong device's MAC address when trying to filter for the RTP stream.
Make sure the PostInstall tool on the agent PC has the correct NIC selected to capture traffic on.  This is important when the agent PC has more than one NIC installed.  This utility is also in C:\Program Files\cisco\desktop\bin on the agent PC.
If the phone seems OK but the problem remains, you can isolate it to a PC by connecting the agent's phone to another PC, like the PC of an agent that can be monitored.  If the non-working agent can be monitored using their own login to CAD and their own phone on the other agent's PC, then it's just a matter of finding differences between the two PCs that can lead to the problem.
    Thanks,
    Brendan
