Unable to determine reason for blocked JVM

Hi,
I have a case which is reproducible quite often, JVM hangs and takes all the CPU resources (>95%) and if I try to take a stack trace with jstack it fails.
When I try with -F option, I get something like:
Debugger attached successfully.
Server compiler detected.
JVM version is 20.6-b01
Deadlock Detection:
No deadlocks found.

Is it possible to have threads which are not available in this report? Could you help with some ideas how to troubleshoot further?
OS is RHEL 6 running on x86_64 architecture.
Thanks

Apparently something is working, but how to understand what? From this thread dump I really can't say.
Problematic program finishes for some minutes in most of the cases.

  • Unable to determine factor for converting from UoM DR to UoM L

    Hi gurus,
I ran into an GTS block for inbound delivery which states 'Unable to determine factor for converting from UoM DR to UoM L.'  Actually the PO linked to this inbound delivery was transferred succesfully.
Per above error log, I checked product master, conversion rate for DR and L was maintained.   Could you shed lights where should I maintain for above error log?
    Thank you,
    Ryan

    Hello Ryan,
There is one bug recently detected in the contex of IBD transfer, the problem is that the conversion factor isn't taken into account during the interface mapping in ERP side, SAP will provide a Note for this issue. To be more sure that you run into the exact same issue, please check wether cvqdp_flt in item of the inbound delivery is empty(/SAPSLL/CUIT-CVQDP_FLT).
    Thanks,
    Derek

  • How to find out the reason for blocking locks?

PB Application try to create data in ASE 12.5. With this operation, there are sql, sp, trigger involved. Most of the it is okay. With lock of sleeping or sync sleeping lock. User wait for a short time to get the result.
but some time, there are blocking lock.
If spid for the app is 1. then looks like this app also generate another spid, say it is 2. and 2 is blocking by 1. spid 1 holding lock!
then all user is frozen because of spid 1 holding lock!!!  How to figure it out the reason for blocking locks?

Thanks, Mark. Yes, sp_lock, sp_who, ... are common tool I used.
I found out one case like:
I have a SP which call a View for data.
When I run this SP, suppose the sipd is 1. then it will create another spid 2 because of access view and it gone very quick. This cause spid 1 block spid 2 within a short time.
If the are many user run the app, the app will be  frozen and everyone is waiting. Finally it release, no dead lock, but the performance is not acceptable.
That why I have this question.

  • Need reasons for blocking Purchase requisition and service entry sheet.

    Hi All,
I need reasons for blocking service entry sheet and purchase requisition.
Also want the reasons for reversing the approval of service entry sheet.
    Its urgent ......

    Hi Nilesh,
It is not possible to block a service entry sheet as such. You could only revoke a service entry sheet. Some of the possible reasons are, you are not satisfied with the quality of service provided by the vendor. Or it could also be due to change in the services to be performed or it could even be as simple as erronous entry of services in the entry sheet.
However from ERP 2005, it should be possible to return the services by marking the returns indicator. In case of materials, it is possible to put a materials PO on hold. But in case of services, the hold option does not arise as a service cannot be performed/completed till all the approvals are received.
    Hope this answer helps you.

One of the possible reson could be, there is subsequent document created. Please check the VBFA table for document flow and see if there is any other document created for this line item, if yes then you have to reverse the same

  • How to determine reason for socket write failure

    Hi,
I'm new to socket programming in general, so please bear with me. I've looked around on the forums quite a bit, and haven't found an answer to this question.
I'm working with server code which creates TCP connections over an air interface with a mobile phone client. Since the air interface is inherently unstable, we rely on the TCP buffering/retry mechanism to store up to its capacity of messages if the client is temporarily non-responsive. Since we are sending small amounts of data, this will actually last for quite a while (several minutes or more depending on how much data we are needing to send). As part of an audit mechanism to detect lost clients, I do a write of a "heartbeat" to the socket and if the write fails, I can assume that either the buffer is full (meaning the mobile "went away" either due to loss of battery power, driving through a very long tunnel, etc.), or the mobile actively disconnected the socket.
However, I'd like to know if there is a way to determine the reason for the write failure? I catch the exception, but as far as I can tell they are all IOExceptions. Is there any way to further delineate the reason for a socket failure?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    -Lisa

If you're in a hurry, I don't have an answer for you.
That said, it was an intriguing enough question that I did some poking around as well. There is a socket exception class, but generally speaking, the only methods that throw socket exceptions tend to deal with defining, creating and closing the socket.
Communicating through the socket is done through input and output streams, and like any other streams, those throw I/O exceptions. I suspect you're catching IOEs because you're using streams. Unfortunately, even Socket.sendUrgentData( int data ) also returns an IOException rather than an SException.
In the interests of covering all the bases, are the IOE messages unsufficient? That is, try...
       } catch ( IOException ioe ) {
          System.out.println( "IOException: " + ioe.getMessage() );
}...might give you enough information to make a guess at whether the buffer is full or if the foreign host has closed the connection. I would suspect this feature is architecture dependent - UNIX systems might have more detail than Wintel systems.
As a last resort, you could extend the InputStream class and do the appropriate testing when writing/sending your packet. I would think that the only cases you can test for are whether the buffer is full (by maintaining a copy of the buffer and updating as appropriate), the mobile is currently sending data, or if the mobile is just not available.
Conventional Java isn't really the best for this because I'm not sure the JVM security model really wants to allow you to directly analyze TCP packets (otherwise you could just check for ACK statements). JME might have an easy solution that we didn't know about and you should ask on the appropriate forum. Alternatively, you might want to think about using C to write a library that handles connections this way, and externally call the library from the rest of your Java program.

  • How to determine reason for shutdown

    Hi all,
My Mac Pro seems to shutdown unexpectedly on occasion and I'm at a loss to explain why.  It happens late at night and though I'm not sure, perhaps only early morning on Thursdays.  Now, I've checked to see if the Energy Saver settings have a scheduled shutdown, and there isn't anything checked there, so it's not something that I've intentionally set.  I don't believe there was a power failure or any similar external cause.  I assume I want to look in the system logs to find the reason for the shutdown, but I can't seem to find the event.  Where exactly should I look and what keyword would I search for.  Any thoughts?
PS This happened a few times while still running 10.6 as well, so I don't think it's a 10.7 specific issue, but that is what I'm running now.
    DC

I have never tried rebooting and leaving it alone for any length of time.  It doesn't happen often enough for me to be able to test that reliably, though I could try it next Wed. night since that seems to be the preferred night.  Thing is, I don't think it happens every week even.  I guess what I should do is do a manual shutdown and then look in the logs for where that info is stored and the trace back over the last 24 hours to see if I can find where it happened.
Not sure what you're looking for in the top command, but here you are.  Couldn't quite squeeze everything in, looks like there's a dozen and a half processes left at the bottom that were past the pagination.

  • Release reason for blocked sales orders (VKM1 & 3)

We have a business requirement for a mandatory reason when sales orders are released in credit management in the same way that rejected orders have a reason code linked to them.
Has anybody else done anything similar?

  • Reason for Payment block R

    Hi,
I am finding one purchase order blocked , and thats because in the accounting doc, the vendor line item is blocked with blocking Reason R . How can I find , why this block was put.
    Regards
    Rudra

To understand Invoice verification blocking reasons, you can run transaction MRBR. This transaction is used to release blocked invoices, but can also be used to understand why item is blocked. There can be multiple reasons for blocking, you need to check MM tolerances to understand the block.

  • Table names for blocked sales order item in GTS system

    Hi all.
I want to get the blocked sales order line item, reason for blocking, product number & product description from GTS system, based on the sales order number from ECC system.
I am thinking to create and RFC FM in GTS system and call that in ECC.
Could you please tell me the table name in GTS system where I can see above mentioned data?
    Regards,
    Prajwala K.

    Hi Manish,
    Thanks for the valuable reply
I have checked the table which you have mentioned in your earlier replay, am not able to see product number, reason for blocking  etc.
My requirement is to create a trade report in ECC. I will be fetching data like sales order, ship to party, sold to party from system ECC using VBAK, VBAP & related tables.
Now I have to get that blocked sales order line item, reason for blocking, product number & product description from GTS system.  My idea is to pass the sales order number from ECC to GTS using RFC and get the data.
Issue is am not sure about the tables, I want know which tables contains the data from blocked sales order in GTS system and how to connect those tables.
    Regards,
    Prajwala

  • License determination- Unable to determine currency and UoM

    Hi Team,
I created a license in SAP GTS, value and quantity depreciation required. System determining license but not depreciating the value
and giving error " Unable to determine factor for converting from currency USD to currency " . This error i am getting in sales order level. I am assign it
manually and value depreciating but the same error i am getting in Uom in delivery level also. i have done setting of Spot(M) exchage rate for license type. the value also maintained in feeder system side.Which configuraion i am missing, some body can help
    Regards,
    Ramji

    Hi Ramji,
What you're saying doesn't make much sense to me.  The currencies must be different, otherwise you wouldn't be seeing that error.
If you have some knowledge of ABAP, or if you have a developer available, you can debug to hopefully find the cause of the problem, since that error message is only used in 2 places.
Set a break-point in these two places:
In Function Module /SAPSLL/LCLIC_VALUE_CHECK, around line 40
In program /SAPSLL/LLCLIC_INTACTF61, around line 505
Now repeat the transaction, and see what is being passed for conversion (currencies and Exchange Rate Type).  That should give you some clues - perhaps you can share with us?
    Regards,
    Dave
