Unable to dismiss notifications

I have several notifications that I'd like to clear out. I thought I would be able to simply slide the notification to one end of the screen to make it go away. For instance, one notification I have is informing me about the status of the pre-installed caller ID application. The notification is telling me my trial has ended. I never used it, but I'm unable to clear the notification without opening that notification and then closing the application.

To remove this specific hassle, go to the following:
Settings > Apps > All (swipe right to left) >Caller Name ID
Here, Force stop the application, then click on the Disable button. Reboot and celebrate.
I would also suggest using this option for other pieces of bloatware such as Amazon mp3, NFL Mobile, Audible, etc.

  • Unable to dismiss notifications using two finger swipe.

    I recently upgraded the hard drive in my MBP (Early 2011) and reinstalled ML (10.8.4) and now have the same issue. When I put in my old hard drive and boot to the same version of ML there, it works just fine, but not on the fresh install. Everything else seems to work just fine, just can't two finger swipe to dismiss notification banners.

    For anyone that may stumble upon this thread. Going to System Preferences > Trackpad > More Gestures and ensuring that "Swipe Between Pages" is enabled will resume normal NC dismiss behavior.

    If you can't remember your passcode then you can do one of the following:
    Run a software repair on the handset (this will delete all user data)
    or Log into my Xperia (if you have previously set it up) > Locate the device > Press Lock > Enter code > now a different unlock box should appear on your screen > enter the code.
    To run a software repair:
    Download PC Companion or Bridge for Mac.

  • New methods to dismiss notification

    That would be nice to see new ways of dismissing notifications in the upcoming OS updates, such as 'flip the device to silent' (silent any kind of notification not only calls) or also another could be once you put your phone downward (while the device is not silent) the notifications would automatically silent or function any other way that the user sets up.

    I believe this is coming take a look at Tilt in BBW.

  • HELP! Unable to View Notifications from the Locked Screen

    Hi,
    I need help. I just purchased recently a Z3 Compact phone. I'm a previous Sony User -- which was X10 Mini Pro so somehow I'm a bit atuned to some (though not all) settings, but what I find strage is that when I have text messages or other notifications with my phone that I need to view, I'm unable to drag and see my notifications.
    Can someone have an idea please? Is there something in the setup I need to fix or do? Or is this something I just need to bring to the customer service for assistance.
    Please help.
    Your help is much appreciated.

    After 3 years experience with iPhones I was looking forward to find out a nearby solution.
    Floatify is a good  app  that you can handle notifications in lock screen.
    When Z3c is going to upgrade to Android 5 we will manage this notifications without any external app.
    Till then try this.
    I think you are gonna be satisfied

  • Unable to open notification from Order

    Hi All,
    We have created order and created notifications and added to the order in the Objects tab.
    We are able to open all other notifications in the order, but we can not open one notification. Even this notification we are unable to open with T code IW23 or IW22.
    This happens with one particular notification only.
    Kindly let us know what could be the cause. Is there any SAP notes available.
    Thanks in advance
    Surya

    Hello Surya
    Any error message or short dump when user tries to open this notification?
    The possible reason woudl be:
    - the inconsistancy during notification creation or assignment
      Need to know further sympton to confirm it
    - the linkage between nofication and order is missing
      you may check in table AUFK (if notification number field is correctly filled) and table QMEL the order field is correctly filled.
    Hope the information is helpful and wish you happy new year.

  • Unable to get notifications

    Hi
    For system admin, has access to all responsibilities but unable to view/see notifications in the notification summary window. In notifications window under preferences ---> access requests ----> for each role, status is assigned.
    can anyone has a clue to how to get notifications to sysadmin's responsibility.
    Thanks in advance
    Prem.

    1) You may refer to the Kevin Holman blog for configuration mail notification
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/kevinholman/archive/2012/04/28/opsmgr-2012-configure-notifications.aspx
    2) check email channel setting
    a) SMTP server is correct and make sure that your smtp server allow your management server to relay the email message
    b) Authentication is correct
    3) your subscribers email address is correct and also check subscriber schedule
    4) Check subscription
    a) subscriber is correct
    b) channel is correct
    c) criteria is correct: From my experience, i will create a new subscription with criteria Notify on all alerts in order to test whether the email notification is working or not.

  • Unable to receive notifications of new messages arriving on queue

    I was wondering whether any AQ experts out there could help me....
    I have an Oracle AQ queue and a .net service which listens and dequeues messages from the queue. The .net service is written (using ODP.net) to execute a poll of the queue upon startup (in order to process anything on the queue initially), and thereafter to hook into the relevant ODP.net event (happens to be OracleAQQueue.MessageAvailable) such that anything that subsequently arrives on the queue gets dequeued.
    Now, before you tell me to head off to the odp.net forum, I will add very quickly that we have this code in both DEV and TEST environments and it works fine. The queue happens to be a multiple-consumer queue, so the service subscribes as a particular consumer and everything hangs together. My problem is that we promoted all this code to LIVE a couple of days ago and although we are able to dequeue messages no problem we are no longer receiving MessageAvailable notifications.
    Now, I come from a .net background and am 100% sure that the .net code on our Live servers is the same as the code on our Test servers, save for the connection string. So I believe that the problem is more database- or queue-config-related than software-related.
    I do not have a high degree of Oracle knowledge in this area but what I can say is that when we start our .NET service, it is happily able to do the initial poll of the queue and to dequeue any messages. So this says to me that, fundamentally, we're not far off. i.e. it isn't anything really dumb like the queue doesn't exist in the live environment! It is purely that the MessageAvailable event never fires.
    I guess my question is fairly open, then. Given what I have said, can anyone think of reasons why this could happen?
    Things I have already thought of include:
    - different versions of ODP drivers. Not so, I supervised their installation myself on each environment.
    - firewall on the Live database blocking comms? I mean, presumably there is some tcp/udp comms going on underneath the MessageAvailable subscription. I don't believe this to be the case but if anyone knows where I can find out in more details how this works I'd be grateful, if only because it would allow me to ask more specific questions of the DBAs/Server admins
    - my initial hunch was that it was something with the consumer not being set up fully (the .net code uses the consumer name to register both to dequeue messages and to subscribe to MessageAvailable notifications). Not I am told that this is not the case and that the consumer has been set up properly, but I'm still a little suspicious.
    Anyway, any help would be gratefully received.
    Pete

    Hi Pete,
    Together we may be able to work this out ... I have a good level of knowledge on the database side of AQ but know nothing about ODPAQ :)
    Have you seen the following documentation section? Could there be some restrictions on the production host on the ports?
    Oracle Data Provider for .NET opens a port to listen for notifications. HA events, load balancing, and database change notification features also share the same port. This port can be configured centrally by setting the database notification port in an application or Web configuration file. The following example code specifies a port number of 1200:
    <configuration>
    <oracle.dataaccess.client>
    <settings>
    <add name="DbNotificationPort" value="1200"/>
    </settings>
    </oracle.dataaccess.client>
    </configuration>
    If the configuration file does not exist or the db notification port is not specified, then ODP.NET uses a valid and random port number. The configuration file may also request for a random port number by specifying a db notification port value of -1.
    The notification listener, which runs in the same application domain as ODP.NET, uses the specified port number to listen to notifications from the database. A notification listener gets created when the application registers with OracleAQQueue.MessageAvailable event. One notification listener can listen to all notification types. Only one notification listener is created for each application domain.
    Thanks
    Paul

  • Unable to open notification center fully?

    Greetings, all.
    I recently upgraded to Mountain Lion, and when trying to use Notification center, I find that it does not work. I can try to use the trackpad gesture, and I get a situation similar to this: http://i.imgur.com/Ow5PD.jpg
    If I click the NC button in the top status bar, it does nothing. I am running a 2011 MacBook Air, newly upgraded to Mountain Lion. 13". Anyone else having this issue, or know how it can be fixed?
    Thanks!
    matt.

    One more thought - assuming you're using your machine's built-in display, it might be worth checking System Preferences ---> Display and making sure "Best for Built-In Display" is checked.
    Clearly there's no attempt to assign blame with these suggestions, only to help resolve the issue.

  • Unable to sort notifications?

    I'm having trouble sorting my apps in the Notification Center. I have 'Sort Apps' marked 'manually' in Settings but it's not working. Any tips? Thanks!

    Same issue here.  Whenever I sort them, then select 'Done', then exit the screen, it doesn't sort them the way I wanted.  Going back into the screen shows that they are resorted in an entirely different way.
    Trying to get the Stock one at the top, but no matter what it puts the Weather one right back up and the Stock one all the way to the bottom.  No matter what order I rearrange them to, it scrambles them up after I leave the Notifications screen.
    Very frustrating!

  • How to dismiss notifications

    I really like the new notification center but let's say I get 5 emails.  I want to view 1 of them but leave the other 4 showing as new in notification center.  How do I do that? It seems like when I click one of them, they all go away.
    Also, in the new reminders app, when I "check" an item as done, it still shows in reminders until I click to "completed" and click back and then it's actually gone.  Is that how it's supposed to work?

    You can't. Only option you have if you don't want the update is to ignore it.
    While I understand there are good reasons for not wanting an update (functionality changes, for example), many, if not most updates include but fixes. You might want to consider if not taking the update is you best course of action.

  • Unable to dismiss dialog when screen is dim

    Using an iphone 4 with ios 7 installed, the power saving dim mode that is enabled after a period of no user input stops user interacting with dialog modals.
    When I am using Clock -> Timer, and I set the timer for a duration long enough to cause the screen to dim, but not long enough to cause the iphone to go black, the dialog which pops up notifying me of my timer being finished can not be dismissed. When the dialog becomes active the screen remains dim and does not respond to any input, I have to return to my home screen and login to continue using my iphone.
    Does anyone else have this problem/know of a solution?
    Where am I able to submit this as a bug to apple?
    Cheers

    Is this in Safari or Preview?
    You really need to use the "AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin" for Safari which comes with the Adobe Reader installation. Then you'll be able to see PDF files in Safari just find. I would also select Adobe Reader as your default application for opening and viewing PDF files. Preview just does a bad job with some PDF files.
    Good luck,

  • Unable to receive notification emails

    Hi All,
    I am trying to have notification emails sent by dbconsole ; when the database is down / up on weekends.
    My TEST_EMAIL_SERVER config on SMTP page works fine ; but the emails are not sent once the db is down / up.
    I have set the notification rule and the schedule from 1am to 11pm round the clock ; but dont receive the emails.
    Any pointers on what else am missing here ?
    DB : 10.2.0.1.0

    Appreciate it.
    Thank you.

    by the way, you can setup event based trigger when starting up and shutdown down and events follows...
    as an example:
    begin
    utl_mail.send(sender =>'[email protected]',
    recipients =>'[email protected]',
    subject =>'Shutdown production databasel',
    message =>'The receipt of this email '||'that shutting down the database'||'works for UTL_MAIL'
    end;
