Unable to display topics in OHW

I am using OHW 2.0.2 and having problems displaying topics. My ohwconfig.xml looks like...

Unfortunately while ohw displays the table of contents correctly, I can't select any topic and see the table of contents. The URL for the helpset is a generated helpset with just one subhelpset:

I'm running all of this on a single Windows XP machine peony with JDK 1.4.2. What do I need to do to ensure OHW displays the content of my topics? I thought the <contentLocation> element was the only additional thing I needed to do, but that's not working.

I am still pursuing problems with OHW and displaying the help content correctly. All the subhelpsets are under the same directory structure, e.g. help/en/ov_web/ui/hoh, help/en/ov_web/ui/usingHelp, etc. The html files in the subhelpsets usually reference a shared jpg file in their html file...

where banner_graphic.jpg resides in the help/en/ov_web/common/image directory. Note that the common directory itself contains no subhelpsets, but stylesheets and graphics shared by all the help html files.
I have added all the subhelpset locations to ohwconfig.xml with the <contentLocation> element (including the common/image directory). All subhelpsets are referenced via an apache alias that points to the help directory. OHW is not displaying images that are referenced in the html for the topic. If I look in my access_log for apache, I find that the URL to banner_graphic.jpg is wrong...

This should be /help/en/ov_web/common/image/banner_logo.gif
So, what do I need to add to my ohwconfig.xml to get it to reference URLs that are shared by multiple html files, but still within a directory specified by a contentLocation element. If needed, I can mail you my ohwconfig.xml and portions of the subhelpsets to reproduce the problem.

You're right that when the apps are available they work better than Safari. I can't find one for The Last Word, which is my favorite show. And like I said, the problem seems to be intermittent, so I don't believe that its a Flash issue. Actually, it's been a couple of days now since I could view The Last Word, so perhaps they are doing something different with their coding than before.

Unable to display a PDF image on the page - Mac 10.6

Hi,
Running an iMac with 10.6.8 and Indesign 5.0.4. Just wanting to export a PDF as per usual via File > Export function. However, I keep getting the error message, "Unable to display a PDF image on the page'. No idea what this is and have never seen this error before. The only info on the internet reveals error code 0x2511(9489).
I've deleted prefs, closed down and re-opened Indesign and even restarted the computer. I've also re-linked the images contained in the document and even created a new document and set it up the same, but still the same problem. Investigating further, other Indesign documents still export properly.
The only ones that don't export are 2 documents, both giving this same error message. Both documents are ones where a client has sent a PDF, I've imported into two of these into an 2-page A4 Indesign document (each PDF is 48MB each) and then just added a text layer (using Times) which is properly installed on the computer. I basically have to 'update' course dates for the client and add PDF to the website, all very basic.
I've tried importing a jpeg and other PDFs into the file (replacing the existing ones) and they export fine.
All my software is legal and I've exported this document before now in exactly the same File > Export without any problems (under 10.5 and 10.6).
OK... I've just imported the offending PDFs into Acrobat, optimized and shrunk the file size, re-imported back to Indesign and the PDF export works fine. So it seems InDesign / PDF Export doesn't like large imported PDFs? I think they were originally exported from Publisher, so maybe that's the problem or a file conflict somehow.
Any ideas on the culprit? I've googled it, searched these forums and Apple discussions and haven't found anything. Although I've found a workaround, I do get large files to import and then export. Thanks for any help

It does sound like a problem with the original PDF files the client sent you. You can check how they were made in Acrobat Pro from the Additional MetaData button on the Description tab of the document properties dialog. It will be under Advanced at the bottom of the list when the metadata opens.
You might be able to salvage them by running the optimzer and not changing the size, or just doing a Save As in Acrobat.

Unable to display tree view; Error when parsing an XML document (Premature end of file.)

I am using a cascaded mapping in my OM. I have a graphical mapping followed by the Java mapping. It is a flat file to IDOC mapping. Everything works fine in Dev but when I transport the same objects to QA, the Operation mapping though it doesn't fail in ESR testing tool, gives the following message and there is no output generated for the same payload which is successfully tested in DEV. Please advise on what could be the possible reasons.

Make sure that the xml created out after the java mapping is a valid xml with only one root node.

Followup to Displaying Topic HTML File Name

A week ago I posted a question about whether it is possible to display the topic file name in the Web Address field.
Rick responded that it was not possible, but gave me a good alternative with a Javascript that displays the file path in the RH topic.
The only problem is that you have to go to each topic, add the Javascript and the file path information.
Is it possible to automate this process? Is there a way to have the Javascript automatically update the displayed topic location?

MS Notepad unable to display the Chinese characters I type and display them as squares

MS Notepad is unable to display the Chinese characters I type and display them as squares. But when I copy those squares on notepad to Wordpad or MS Word, they display the Chinese characters just fine. I've no idea why those Chinese characters I type can't display properly on notepad. I check the font of the notepad and it's the default. I've another Windows Vista desktop computer which has notepad of the similar setting and display Chinese characters just fine. Both are using Chinese (Simplified) - Microsoft Pinyin New Experience Input Style to input those characters. But I don't understand why my Windows 7 is facing this problem.

Notepad is a very simple text editor BUT it will work if you use the SAME language in Windows. Please try:
1. go to control panel, click "Clock, Language, and Region"
2. click "Change location" under the "Region" section
3. go to the "administrative" tab, then click "change system locale...", then select "Chinese".

Xhost +: unable to display

Dear Linux and SAP Expert:
I am facing a problem, I want to install Oracle 9i on SUSE Linux, I need to use ora<sid> to install it, but when I use xhost +, i am prompted "xhost +: unable to display"
I have already set the followings:

xclock is also unable to display.

You can try the following senario also if you are taking VNC over windows machine.
Install the vnc server package i.e vnc-server-x.x.x. and download the vnc client for windows i.e. UltraVNC Win32 Viewer 1.0.1.
After the above activity do the following configuration at server end.
run the command as a root or ora<SID>. Whose graphical login you required.
In our senarion we use ora<SID>.
run the command
vncserver
vncpasswd #This is to set the password for that vnc login
after run the vncserver change the following setting in xstartup file
cat ~/.vnc/xstartup
#!/bin/sh
Uncomment the following two lines for normal desktop:
unset SESSION_MANAGER
exec /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc
[ -x /etc/vnc/xstartup ] && exec /etc/vnc/xstartup
[ -r $HOME/.Xresources ] && xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid grey
vncconfig -iconic &
xterm -geometry 80x241010 -ls -title "$VNCDESKTOP Desktop" &
twm &
chage the below line as follows.
unset SESSION_MANAGER

Afte this changes kill the vncserver once
vncserver -kill :1
than start the vnc server again.
vncserver
Everything is done now use the gui of that server from windows client machine
hostname:1 or IP Address:1

How to display topic content in non-RH window?

Morning all,
I'm working with my developers to find the best answer to this: How can we display topic content in a non-RH window.
Currently, I'm running RH 8.0.2 and generating WebHelp. We want to keep all content in RH, and for one part of our web service, we want to display topic content, but not a window generated by RH. In fact, we really just need the data to appear in something simple like a table cell. We don't want to hard code the content as it's likely to change.
I'm guessing since the folks on this forum have done everything w/ RH short of alchemy, someone out there has already done something like this.
So far, we're looking at opening the .htm file and pulling everything inside the body tags, then displaying that in whatever structure the developers decide is best. Kinda crude.
Questions that come up:
How do we match the content to the page it's displayed on since we're not using any of the RH structure around the content?
Is there a slick way to do this with the CSH API and MapIDs?
Since we're just using the content, the title tag is unused for these topics. Is there a way we could leverage this tag to help track the topic or the page it will display on?
As always, any enlightenment is welcome.

Thanks, but not really. I had read through that topic a while back.
It looks like we really need to display the content (probably everything between the body tags?) in an HTML element like a <td>. We could do frames, but for a small help window, they really eat up a lot of space and definitely don't fit in with the style of the site.
I think the display of the content will be left in the developer's hands - that's what they get paid for.
If you have any thoughts on how to reference the content, I'd love to hear them. I can't see MapIDs working as we're not using the CSH API. Though I suppose our developers could hack the .js file and determine how RH uses the MapIDs and recreate that. But that's a lot of work.
Referencing the topic by the name of the .htm file locks us into that file name and makes future changes a little more difficult.
The only thing I've come up with so far is to put a code in place of the <title> tag since the title won't be displayed. That way we could change the content w/out the developers having to recode. Crude, I know.

Messenger Express 6 Unable to display embedded images

Messenger Expresss seems tob unable to display embedded images (gif or jpeg) in the form cid:image.gif and some hosted images. In reference to the the cid:image.gif , when I open the email get an error from the browser that states "Warning: the application cid must be lauched to view this file." or something close to that. It gives me a choice of opening "cid" or canceling. There is also a check box "remember my choice for all files." which I choose and then I get an email full of broken image links.
I've tried this in Firefox and IE the routine is a bit different but the result is the same. No images displayed.
I also used a netflix email I recieved.. some of the images displayed some did not. The ones that did display were from www.netflix.com some of the others hosted on an image server somewhere in the netflix namespace did not.
I'm at a loss. If anyone can shed some light on this I'd be very thankful

I was speaking about what client created the original mail messate.
The "error message" isn't very useful. Is the mail message itself is badly formed, then the problem lies with the client that created it.
You should be able to tell from the headers of the message.
If you have the message file on disk, examine it with a text editor. "Message file on disk" means the original file, as stored on the server as a xxx.msg file, not what any client might save to a local disk.
When we work these kinds of things as tech support cases, we start out with this file.
I have no idea what gmail does, so that's not really relevant.
Your IMAP client may be better at displaying badly formed messages than webmail is.

Regarding CRM EIC where i am unable to display HCM processes in IC Appl

I am working on CRM_EIC.
There is an issue where i am unable to display HCM Processes in the IC application.
I have launched the application from CRM system thru the t-code "WUI", and selected the business role "IC_EIC_AGENT".
Given the pernr and confirmed and in "service request" in "Business Context"tab, selected "HCM Process" and click on New,
it connects to the ERP system for the HR processes data , it doesn't display the list of processes.
CRM System:QOM/508
ERP system: QV5/004
Can you please help regarding the above issue.

Thanks much for the response. I had not looked at the sap note earlier on, saw it after your reply.
However, we are not using IE7.0 yet. I would like to mention here that independent of the portal, when I launch the CRM IC Webclient on any browser, it appears well and good, but when launched from within Enterprise Portal, page appears minus the toolbar. Do you have any idea/pointers on the same. However I plan to get the notes correction done and would like to thank you for an useful answer.
Pls do let me know if there is anything missing on EP 7.0 or CRM 2007 that needs to be done additionally.
